Cautions:

• Do not use flammable print media.

Follow these steps to load paper into the main tray:

1. Pull out the paper tray from the machine.

2. Open the paper cover.

3. Squeeze the paper width guide and pull it to the end of the tray. Squeeze the paper length guide and pull it to the end of the tray as well.

4. Flex or fan the edge of the paper stack to separate the pages before loading them.

5. Place the paper in the tray. Make sure the paper is below the maximum paper level mark on the inside of the tray.

6. Adjust the paper length guide to lightly touch the end of the paper stack.

7. Adjust the paper width guide to lightly touch the edge of the paper stack.

8. Close the paper cover.

9. Insert the tray back into the machine.

10. After loading paper, set the paper size and type on the control panel or in the software.

Note: Do not load paper on the manual feeder when printing from the tray, as it may cause a paper jam.

The manual feeder can hold special sizes and types of print material, such as postcards, note cards, and envelopes. Follow these tips for using it:

• Load only one type, size, and weight of print media at a time in the manual feeder.

• To prevent paper jams, do not add paper while printing if there is already paper in the manual feeder.

• Load print media face up with the top edge going into the feeder first. Place it in the center of the tray.

• Flatten any curl on postcards, envelopes, and labels before loading them.

• When paper does not feed well while printing, push the paper in manually until it starts feeding automatically.

• If the machine is in power save mode, it will not feed paper from the manual feeder. Press the power button to wake the machine before using the manual feeder.

You can load an original document using either the scanner glass or the document feeder.

On the scanner glass:

Using the scanner glass is best for scan quality, especially for colored or gray-scaled images. If an original is detected in the document feeder, the machine gives it priority.

1. Lift and open the scanner lid.

1. Place a single document on the scanner glass or in the document feeder.

This feature allows you to print both sides of a small item like a business card or ID card onto the upper and lower half of a single sheet of paper without reducing the size. This feature is not available if the machine is in Eco mode.

1. Press the ID Copy button on the control panel.

2. Place the front side of the original facing down on the scanner glass where indicated by the arrows. Then, close the scanner lid.

3. The display will show “Place Front Side and Press [Start]”.

4. Press Start. The machine scans the front side and the display shows “Place Back Side and Press [Start]”.

5. Open the scanner lid, turn the original over, and place it on the scanner glass as indicated.

6. Press Start. The machine scans the back side and then prints both sides on one sheet of paper.

If you do not press the Start button for the second side, only the front side will be copied.

This is the standard procedure for scanning originals to a computer connected via USB.

1. Place a single document face down on the document glass, or load documents face up into the document feeder.

2. Press (scan) > Scan to PC > Local PC on the control panel. (Alternatively, on some models, press Scan to > Local PC).

3. If you see a “Not Available” message, check the port connection or ensure “Enable Scan from Device Panel” is selected in Samsung Easy Printer Manager > Switch to advanced mode > Scan to PC Settings.

4. Select the application program you want to use for scanning (default is My Documents) and press OK.

5. Select any other options you want and press OK.

6. Scanning begins. The scanned image is saved in your computer’s C:\Users\\{user name}\My Documents folder. The saved folder may differ depending on your operating system.

1. Place a single document face down on the document glass, or load documents face up into the document feeder. If originals are placed in both, the document feeder has priority.

5. Press the (Start) button on the control panel. The machine will start to scan and send the fax.

To send a fax manually:

This method is useful if you need to speak to the recipient before sending the fax.

1. Load the document.

2. Press (On Hook Dial) on the control panel or lift the handset (if your model has one).

3. Enter the destination fax number using the number keypad.

4. When you hear a high-pitched fax signal from the remote machine, press the (Start) button.

To ensure optimal performance and the longest life from your toner cartridge, follow these storage recommendations:

• Store the cartridge in the same environment where the printer will be used, with controlled temperature and humidity.

• Keep the toner cartridge in its original, unopened package until you are ready to install it. If the original packaging is not available, cover the top opening of the cartridge with paper and store it in a dark cabinet.

• If you remove a cartridge from the printer, store it inside its protective bag.

• Always store the cartridge lying flat (not standing on end).

Do not store consumables in any of the following conditions:

• Temperature greater than 40°C (104°F).

• Humidity range less than 20% or greater than 80%.

• An environment with extreme changes in humidity or temperature.

• Direct sunlight or room light.

• Dusty places.

• Inside a car for a long period of time.

• An environment with corrosive gases or salty air.

When the toner cartridge is near the end of its life, you may see white streaks or light printing. You can temporarily improve print quality by redistributing the remaining toner.

1. Open the front cover of the printer.

2. Pull out the toner cartridge from the machine.

3. Gently shake the cartridge from side to side 5 or 6 times to distribute the toner evenly inside.

4. Re-insert the toner cartridge back into the machine until it clicks into place.

5. Close the front cover securely.

Caution: To prevent damage, do not expose the toner cartridge to light for more than a few minutes. Do not touch the green drum area of the cartridge.

When a toner cartridge has reached the end of its life, the machine will stop printing. Follow these steps to replace it:

1. Open the front cover.

2. Remove the old toner cartridge from the machine.

3. Unpack the new toner cartridge. Shake it gently 5 or 6 times to distribute the toner evenly.

4. Remove the protective cover from the new cartridge.

5. Hold the new cartridge by its handle and slide it into the opening in the machine until it clicks into place.

6. Close the front cover. The machine will be ready to print.

When an imaging unit has reached the end of its life, the machine will stop printing. Follow these steps to replace it (this applies to M2675/M2676/M2875/M2876/M2885/M2886 series):

1. Open the front cover and pull out the toner cartridge.

2. Grasp the handle on the imaging unit and pull it out of the machine.

3. Unpack the new imaging unit and remove its protective cover.

4. Slide the new imaging unit into the machine.

5. Re-insert the toner cartridge until it clicks into place.

6. Close the front cover.

Caution: Do not expose the imaging unit to light for more than a few minutes. Do not touch the green surface of the imaging unit.

Regular cleaning helps keep your machine in the best printing condition. Always turn the machine off and unplug the power cord before cleaning.

Cleaning the Outside:

Clean the machine cabinet and display screen with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water. Do not let water drip onto or into the machine. Do not use cleaning materials containing alcohol, solvents, or other strong substances.

Cleaning the Inside:

1. Turn off the machine and unplug it. Wait for it to cool down.

2. Open the front cover and remove the toner cartridge.

3. With a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe away any dust and spilled toner from the inner area, including the cavity where the toner cartridge sits. Be careful not to touch the transfer roller.

4. Re-insert the toner cartridge and close the front cover.

Cleaning the Pickup Roller:

1. Open the front cover and remove the paper tray.

2. Locate the pickup roller inside the machine.

3. Wipe the roller with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.

4. Dry the roller with a clean, dry lint-free cloth.

5. Re-insert the paper tray and close the front cover.

Cleaning the Scan Unit:

1. Slightly dampen a soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel with water.

2. Lift and open the scanner lid.

3. Wipe the surface of the scanner glass and the document feeder glass (if applicable) until it is clean and dry.

4. Wipe the underside of the scanner lid and the white sheet/bar until clean and dry.

5. Close the scanner lid.

4. From the rear, pull the fuser levers down and remove the jammed paper.

5. Return the levers to their original position and close the rear cover.
