• If installing the device indoors, the device should be at least 2 meters away from the light, and at least 3 meters away from the window or the door.

• If installing the device outdoors, you should apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

• Make sure the environment illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• Make sure the output of external power supply fulfills LPS.

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module to the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews in the drilled holes.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Insert the fingerprint module to the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

If the device is not activated, you can activate it after it is powered on. On the Activate Device page, create a password and confirm the password. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

It is highly recommended you choose a strong password (using a minimum of 8 characters, including at least three of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) to increase security.

To activate the device:

1. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.

2. Find and select your device from the online device list.

3. Input a new password (admin password) and confirm the password.

4. Click Activate to start activation. The status of the device becomes Active after successful activation.

To modify the IP address:

1. Select the device.

2. Change the device IP address to the same subnet as your computer by either modifying the IP address manually or by checking Enable DHCP.

3. Input the admin password and click Modify to activate your IP address modification.

1. Enter the Device Management page in the client software.

2. Click on the right of Device Management and select Device.

3. Click Online Device to show the online device area. The searched online devices are displayed in the list.

4. Check the device status and select an inactive device.

5. Click Activate to open the Activation dialog.

6. Create a password in the password field, and confirm the password.

7. Click OK to activate the device.

Setting the Application Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

2. Tap OK to save. If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

Setting the Recognition Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes face via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: Can recognize a much wider range of people, suitable for more complicated environments.

2. Tap OK to save.

Login For the First Time:

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entering page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator:

1. After an administrator has been added, long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts.

3. Optional: Tap the lock icon to enter the device activation password for login.

4. Optional: Tap the exit button to exit the admin login page.

Set Network Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap Network to enter the Network tab.

3. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway and input the parameters.

4. Tap OK to save.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap Wi-Fi to enter the Wi-Fi tab.

3. Enable the Wi-Fi function.

4. Select a Wi-Fi network and enter its parameters (password, IP address, etc. depending on Static or Dynamic mode).

5. Tap OK to save.

Set RS-485 Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap RS-485 to enter the RS-485 tab.

3. Select an external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader).

4. Tap the save icon. The device will reboot if the external device is changed.

Set Wiegand Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap Wiegand to enter the Wiegand tab.

3. Enable the Wiegand function.

4. Select a transmission direction (Input or Output).

5. Tap the save icon. The device will reboot if the external device is changed.

To add a new user (including an administrator):

1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the employee ID and name.

3. Optionally, add credentials:

• Add Face Picture: Tap the Face Picture field, position your face, and tap Save. Up to 3000 face pictures can be added.

• Add Fingerprint: Tap the Fingerprint field, place your finger on the module as instructed, and save. Up to 5000 fingerprints (and up to 10 per user) can be added.

• Add Card: Tap the Card field and either enter the card number manually or swipe the card over the swiping area. Up to 5000 cards can be added.

• Add Password: Tap the Password field, create a password, and confirm it.

4. To make the user an administrator, enable the Administrator Permission function.

5. Optionally, set the authentication type by tapping Authentication Mode and selecting Device or Custom.

6. Tap the save icon to save the settings.

Export Data:

1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

2. Tap Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the connected USB flash drive.

Import Data:

1. Plug a USB flash drive containing the data into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB flash drive to the device.

On the Home page, tap System to enter the System Settings page.

Basic Parameters:

• In the Basic tab, you can set community No., building No., unit No., voice prompt, voice volume, application mode, wake-up distance, and light brightness.

Face Picture Parameters:

• In the Face Pic. tab, you can set parameters like 1:N/1:1 security level, recognition interval, face anti-spoofing, liveness security, margins, pitch/yaw angle, pupillary distance, and WDR level.

Fingerprint Parameters:

• In the Fingerprint tab, you can select the fingerprint security level, which affects the false acceptance rate (FAR) and false rejection rate (FRR).

Set Time:

• Tap Time on the Home page to set the device time and DST (Daylight Saving Time).

1. Tap T&A Status to enter the T&A Status page.

2. Select an Attendance Mode:

• Disable: Attendance status will not be displayed or configured on the initial page.

• Manual: Enable the Attendance Status function. You must select a status (e.g., Check In, Check Out) manually after authentication.

• Auto: The system automatically changes the attendance status according to a configured schedule. You can select an attendance status (e.g., Break Out) and set its valid schedule.

• Manual and Auto: A combination of both modes. The system follows the schedule, but you can also manually change the status after authentication.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to configure the following parameters:

Upgrade Firmware:

1. Plug a USB flash drive with the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory into the device.

2. On the System Settings page, tap Maint. (Maintenance).

3. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware.

Data Management:

1. Tap Data (Data Management) on the Home page.

2. Tap a button to manage data:

• Delete All Events: Deletes all stored events.

• Delete User Data: Deletes all user data.

• Delete Captured Pic.: Deletes all captured pictures.

• Restore to Factory: Restores the system to factory settings (device will reboot).

• Restore to Default: Restores parameters to default, keeping communication and remote user settings (device will reboot).

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up to confirm.

Log Query:

1. Tap Log on the Home page.

2. Select a search type (e.g., Card, Name).

3. Input the search criteria (e.g., employee ID, user name).

4. Select a time period for the search.

5. Tap the search icon to view the results.

Call Client Software from Device:

1. Add the device to the client software.

2. On the device’s initial page, tap Call.

3. Input 0 in the pop-up window and tap Call.

4. On the client software, tap Answer to start two-way audio.

Call Master Station from Device:

1. Add the master station and the device to the client software.

2. Set the master station’s IP and SIP addresses in the remote configuration.

3. Tap the call icon on the device. The device will call the master station.

4. Answer the call on the master station to start two-way audio.

Call Device from Client Software:

1. Add the device to the client software.

2. Enter the Live View page and double-click the device to start live view.

3. Right-click the live view image and click Start Two-Way Audio.

Call Indoor Station from Device:

1. Add the indoor station and device to the client software.

2. Link a user to an indoor station and set a room number.

3. Tap the call icon on the device’s authentication page.

4. Input the room number and tap the call icon to call the indoor station.

5. Answer the call on the indoor station to start two-way audio.

Add an Online Device:

1. In the client software, enter the Device Management module.

2. Click Online Device to see devices on the same local subnet.

3. Select a device and click Add.

4. Enter the required information (Name, User Name, Password).

5. Optionally check Synchronize Time.

6. Click Add.

Add Device by IP Address or Domain Name:

1. In Device Management, click Add.

2. Select IP/Domain as the adding mode.

3. Enter the information (Name, Address, Port, User Name, Password).

4. Click Add.

Manage Added Devices:

After adding a device, you can perform the following operations from the device list:

• Remote Configuration: Click the configuration icon to remotely set device parameters.

• Device Status: View status of cameras, recording, hardware, etc.

• Edit Device Information: Change the device’s IP address, user name, and password.

• Delete Device: Remove the device from the client.

Add Person and Basic Information:

1. Enter the Person module.

2. Select an organization and click Add.

3. Enter basic information like name, gender, phone number, etc.

4. Optionally, set an effective period for the person.

5. Click Add to save.

Issue a Card:

1. In the Add Person window, go to the Credential → Card panel and click +.

2. Enter the card number manually or by using a card enrollment station/reader.

3. Select the card type (Normal, Duress, etc.).

4. Click Add.

Add Face Photo:

1. In the Add Person window, click Add Face in the Basic Information panel.

2. Choose to Upload from a PC, Take Photo via client webcam, or Collect Face via an access control device.

Collect Fingerprint:

1. In the Add Person window, go to the Credential → Fingerprint panel and click +.

2. Choose to collect locally (via a fingerprint recorder connected to the PC) or remotely (via the access control device’s fingerprint module).

3. Follow the prompts to collect and save the fingerprint.

Configure a Template:

1. Go to Access Control → Schedule → Template.

2. Click Add to create a new template.

3. Name the template.

4. In the Week Schedule tab, select a day and draw time durations on the timeline bar when access is authorized.

5. Optionally, in the Holiday tab, add pre-configured holidays to the template.

6. Click Save.

Set an Access Group:

1. Go to Access Control → Access Group.

2. Click Add.

3. Name the access group and select a template for it.

4. Select the person(s) and the door(s) for this group.

5. Click OK.

6. After creating the group, select it and click Apply All to Devices or Apply Changes to Devices to send the authorization to the terminal.

Recommended Finger:

• Forefinger, middle finger, or the third finger.

Correct Scanning:

• Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the scanner center.

Incorrect Scanning:

• Avoid scanning vertically, only the edge of the finger, or the side of the finger.

Environment:

• The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain.

• If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it. You can blow on your finger and scan again.

Others:

• If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods.

• If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it. Try using a different finger.

Positions (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

• Ensure your face is at the recommended height (1.4 m to 1.9 m).

• Avoid being too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera.

Expression:

• Keep your expression natural, similar to a passport photo.

• Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can affect facial recognition.

• Ensure your hair does not cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

• Look directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

• Make sure your face is centered in the middle of the collecting window.
