To ensure proper ventilation for your MABE RME1436Y refrigerator, you must provide the following minimum clearances. Failure to do so may result in poor performance and damage to your appliance.

Please follow these safety precautions when using your MABE RME1436Y refrigerator:

DANGER: Risk of child entrapment. Before you throw away your old refrigerator, take off the doors and leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.

Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.

Any personal or material risk resulting from the failure to observe the above mentioned will not be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

1. Before connecting the refrigerator, we consider the refrigerator temperature control should be set at the “off” position or minimum setting.

2. Clean the inside of your refrigerator with a soft cloth, water and neutral soap.

3. Allow refrigerator to operate empty and with the doors closed for 4 hours before putting any food in it.

4. Do not open the doors for the first 4 hours of operation to stabilize the temperature.

5. If you want to place your refrigerator in another location, disconnect it before moving. Before you reconnect it, wait for about 10 minutes to protect the compressor.

Your MABE RME1436Y refrigerator should be placed on a firm, level floor.

Do not place your refrigerator near heat sources, stoves, heaters, or in direct sunlight, because these will cause the unit to work harder.

Do not place the refrigerator near other appliances like microwaves, toasters or other appliances that emit heat and affect the refrigerator.

Do not rest the refrigerator against the wall.

For proper ventilation of your refrigerator, please consider the following clearances:

Your refrigerator has two conditions that confirm its proper installation: a slight forward tilt and a clear space between the coils and the wall.

Insert and use the screws so that they rest firmly on the floor. Before inserting refrigerator backwards slightly. Two persons will be needed to load the refrigerator using the handles on the back and bottom parts of the refrigerator.

Before inserting the plug into the outlet, clean the interior of your refrigerator, use a soft cloth with soap and water. Remove the packaging parts of the product.

a) Your electrical installation is provided with a polarized power cord-type plug and with a grounding terminal. This plug must be inserted in a polarized type wall outlet, which must be grounded. Failure to observe this instruction may cause electrical shock.

b) If your electrical installation is not equipped with this kind of outlet, obtain one, as well as an electrical circuit with a 15 Ampere thermomagnetic switch exclusively to power your refrigerator. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

c) Connect your refrigerator to the closest power supply. We strongly recommend against the use of extension cables.

d) Your personal safety must be provided with a proper grounding in your refrigerator electrical installation. If you are dying to you must avoid shocks, fire and overheating of your appliance.

e) To ensure a normal performance of your refrigerator, avoid connecting it to a contact that has voltage variations of more than 10% of the nominal value.

f) If you live in an area where there are power surges, take the following precautions:

• Install a voltage regulator for your refrigerator only.

• Disconnect your refrigerator from the power supply before any storm. To reconnect, make sure that the regulator can withstand the power surge that may occur in the electrical line.

• The use of voltage regulators may vary from area to area. In case of doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

• To ground the circuit, follow the grounding regulations and call a qualified electrician.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent or a qualified electrician.

The refrigerator temperature control knob is located inside the compartment, to the right. Use this knob to control the refrigerator temperature.

Note: The interior and cold may vary depending on the ambient temperature. In the hot season, place the control between the recommended medium and maximum positions. If the ambient temperature in the cold months (colder) the freezer may need to be increased. It is not recommended to operate your refrigerator at maximum position for a prolonged time.

Your MABE RME1436Y is provided with an additional control (Air Regulator) which can divert the cold air from the freezer compartment to the fresh food compartment and the freezer compartment respectively, so it is necessary to adjust the air distribution. The setting depends on the user preference.

If you wish to adjust it, use a coin as indicated below (F), it can be adjusted in any position.

The coldest air will be generated in the freezer compartment. If you want more cold air to reach the fresh food compartment, turn the knob to the right side (position B). If you want more cold air in the freezer, turn the knob to the left side (position A).

To fill your ice trays, pull the drawer out and fill the trays with drinking water. For faster ice making, you can remove one of the trays and, still fill the drawer with drinking water, up to the level where the ice is deposited once it is unmolded.

To unmold ice cubes, hold both sides of the tray and turn it slightly. The ice cubes will fall into the drawer. When the system limits and pulls it inwards until it stops, check its correct position.

Once the cassette is out, place it on a flat surface and press to close it. If you try to close it when the cassette is held it will be more difficult to unmold the ice.

To remove the lid, take it by both sides and pull up to release it. To replace the upper drawer cover, make sure that it is properly seated in its position.

1. Remove the crisper by pressing the rear cover inwards while moving the rear cover inwards until the bulb becomes visible, this makes cleaning easier.

2. Disconnect the refrigerator from the electrical outlet.

3. Replace light bulb with one of the same electrical characteristics (10W bulb).

4. To replace it, turn the bulb counter-clockwise.

5. To put the cover back, insert the tabs into the lower holes of the control box, and pushing the cover upper part upwards until it “clicks”.

Do not overload the refrigerator with food; leave space between items and use bags or containers to store them, to prevent contamination and to avoid bad odors that may contaminate other foods.

Do not block the interior walls of the freezer with wet hands.

To keep foods well-preserved, avoid opening the doors or leaving the refrigerator open when the doors are as they could get injured or trapped inside.

We recommend storing food in containers with, wrapped in or stored in air tight containers. This prevents food from dehydrating.

We recommend you place food in the refrigerator once it is at room temperature. You must wait until they have cooled down to room temperature.

Use plastic bags to prevent food from dehydrating.

Make sure to clean your refrigerator periodically.

Unplug the refrigerator from the outlet before cleaning or starting a technical process.

If you need to place the refrigerator in a horizontal position in order to transport it, leave it in a vertical position for at least 4 hours before connecting it. Fasten doors and components before moving your refrigerator to insert the leveling screws as far as they will go.

Your appliance is equipped with a device that prevents condensation. The heating comes from a gas line from the compressor, which circulates inside the refrigerator. This device prevents water drops from forming on the sides of your refrigerator. Sometimes, slight condensation may form. Dry with a soft cloth.

Gurgling sound. It is heard when the refrigerator is operating.

Cracking sound. It is heard when ice is breaking. It is the same noise heard when ice trays are left out of the freezer. This sound is part of normal operation.

Hissing sound. It is heard when the refrigerator door is closed, it means that the cabinet has cooled down to its proper temperature.

Gas expansion sound. It is the characteristic sound of gas expansion in the refrigeration system and can be heard for a few minutes after the compressor stops.

Water running sound. This sound is part of the defrosting process. It occurs when the refrigerator is going through the defrosting process.

Bubbles or boiling sound. It is a characteristic sound of boiling water that occurs when the cooling system is operating.

Cooling system. It is the characteristic sound of bubbling water that occurs when the cooling system is operating.

The problem is normally corrected in a few hours. The interior temperature will not increase excessively, if the door is not opened. To prevent damage to food, if the power failure persists for more than 6 hours we suggest your place ice bags onto both fresh food and frozen food items.
