If you smell gas, follow these steps for your safety:

1. Do not try to light a match or cigarette, or turn on any gas or electrical appliance.

2. Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.

3. Clear the room, building, or area of all occupants.

4. Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions carefully.

5. If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas can be produced in a water heater that has not been used for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas can be explosive. If the hot water has not been used for two weeks or more, prevent the possibility of damage or injury by turning on all hot water faucets and allowing them to run for several minutes. Do this before using any electrical appliance connected to the hot water system, like your MABE GE CLGG70214DAB. This procedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame or appliance during this process.

Follow these steps to operate your MABE GE CLGG70214DAB laundry center:

Step 1. Add detergent. You can also add fabric softener and liquid bleach in their respective dispensers if desired.

Step 2. Add clothing to the washer basket.

Step 3. Select the load size and other wash options, then select the wash cycle.

Step 4. Close the lid and press START.

Do not mix waterproof and non-waterproof items.

The Sanitized cycle is designed to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and germs found in clothing. For the correct operation of this cycle, you must use hot water. Ensure that there is hot water available in your installation.

The cycle uses high-temperature water to ensure its effectiveness.

1. Put the detergent in the bottom of the tub.

2. Add the clothes. This cycle is best for high-cotton items like towels, jeans, sheets, and bathrobes.

3. For best performance, set the “Temperature” and “Water Level” knobs to the “Automatic” position.

The control panel on your MABE GE CLGG70214DAB washer includes several functions:

1. Selecting cycles: Turn the knob to select from the available programs depending on the type of clothes you are washing. Each program controls the duration and intensity of the washing process.

2. Temperatures: Select the water temperature for the wash and rinse cycles.

3. Load size/Water level: There are multiple load levels and an automatic sensor. Select the one you need or let the automatic sensor do it for you.

5. Start/pause: Press this button to start operating your washer or to pause it once in operation. To resume, press the button again.

Your MABE GE CLGG70214DAB washer has a knob with 8 main programs designed to better clean and care for your clothes:

Selecting temperature:

Manual mode: Turn the knob to select the right temperature for the type of clothes you are going to wash.

Automatic mode: The washer has an automatic sensor position, where it automatically selects the right temperature based on the program. For best results, it is suggested to use the automatic setting or follow the fabric care label.

Load Size / Water Level:

Manual mode: Turn the knob to select the water level according to the amount of laundry to be washed.

Automatic mode: This machine has an automatic water sensor option, which allows it to wash efficiently and save water by assigning the ideal amount for each load. The “Precise Fill” setting allows the system to automatically calculate the amount being washed. We recommend that you always use the automatic option.

Note: The maximum fill level is automatically selected in the bulky cycle.

In personal touch mode, you can go through the wash stages independently. This allows you to take advantage of the wash water or rinse water to wash another load of laundry.

• Wash only: This function will fill the washer and then provide agitation. At the end of the wash stage, the spin light will turn on, without draining the water.
• Rinse only: This function drains and spins the wash. Then, it will fill the tub with clean water and provide rinse agitation to complete the stage, without draining the water at the end. The rinse light will stay on.
• Only wash and rise: It will fill the washer and provide wash agitation. At the end, it will drain the washer, and the spin light will come on. After that, it will fill the tub with clean water and provide rinse agitation to complete the cycle without draining the water at the end. The Rinse light will stay on.
• Only wash and spin: This function will fill the washer and provide wash agitation. At the end, it will drain the water and spin the clothes to complete the cycle. The spin light will stay on.
• Only rise and spin: This function will drain the water. The spin light will turn on, and the tub will be filled with clean water to provide rinse agitation, and then drain the water and spin the clothing.

Using the fabric softener dispenser:

The dispenser automatically releases liquid fabric softener at the proper time. Do not stop the washer or raise the lid during the first spin, as this will cause the dispenser to empty too soon.

1. Make sure the dispenser is securely attached to the agitator.

2. Use only liquid diluted fabric softener. Pour the recommended amount into the dispenser.

3. Add water to the dispenser until it reaches the maximum fill line.

Never pour fabric softener directly on clothes, as it may stain them. Do not pour bleach in the fabric softener dispenser.

Cleaning the fabric softener dispenser:

1. Remove the dispenser from the top of the agitator.

2. Separate the dispenser cup from the cover by grasping the top and pushing down on the inside of the cup with your fingers.

3. To clean the dispenser, soak both the dispenser cup and cover in the following solution:

– 3.8 liters of warm water

– 1/4 cup (60 ml) of heavy-duty liquid detergent

– 1 cup (240 ml) of bleach

4. If necessary, loosen any dirt accumulation with a clean, soft cloth after soaking. Do not use a stiff brush.

5. Rinse and reassemble the dispenser. Place it back on the agitator.

The water fill dilutes chlorine bleach as the washer fills for the wash cycle.

1. Check clothing care labels for special instructions.

2. Measure liquid bleach carefully, following instructions on the bottle. Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach directly onto clothes or into the wash basket. Do not pour powdered bleach into the bleach funnel.

3. Before starting the washer, pour the measured amount of bleach directly into the bleach funnel. Avoid splashing or overfilling. If you prefer to use powdered bleach, add it in the wash basket with the detergent.

Important Safety Note: Do not mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or acids such as vinegar and/or rust remover. Mixing can produce a toxic gas which may cause death.

Note: Do not pour bleach in the fabric softener dispenser.

Here are the recommended wash loads for your MABE GE CLGG70214DAB:

Sorting wash loads: Sort clothes by color (whites, lights, colors), soil level, and fabric type (sturdy cottons, easy care, delicates). Also, separate fabrics that produce lint (like terry cloth) from fabrics that collect lint (like velveteen).

Proper use of detergent: Add detergent and turn on the washer before adding items so the detergent can work effectively. Using too little or too much detergent is a common cause of laundry problems. You can use less detergent if you have soft water, a smaller load, or a lightly soiled load.

Care and cleaning of the washer:

Wash basket: Leave the lid open after washing to allow moisture to evaporate. To clean the basket, use a clean soft cloth dampened with liquid detergent, then rinse. Do not use harsh or gritty cleaners.

Fill hoses: It is recommended to change hoses every 5 years.

Automatic Drying Cycles:

During the automatic drying cycle, the knob will not turn until the thermostat sensor indicates the clothes are dry; then the knob will automatically turn to the OFF position. Automatic cycles determine fabric dryness. Select “less dry” if you want clothes slightly damp at the end, and “more dry” if you want them to be more dry.

Easy Care: For wrinkle-free garments, permanent ironing, and items that need special care when drying.

Sanitized: Do not use for delicate clothing like lycra or sports. Do not put in more than 6 clothes that have laces or ribbons. For garments with cotton and fabrics combined with cotton.

Cottons: For garments with cotton, fabrics combined with cotton, and most white garments.

Delicates: For mostly synthetic clothes, small thin, baby clothes, or underwear that require special care. Use for garments with labels for drying at low temperatures.

Timed Drying Cycles (Manual):

The timer runs for the entire cycle.

Dewrinkle: For removing wrinkles from items that are clean and very lightly damp.

Fluff: For freshening or removing lint from already dry clothing.

Remember to clean the lint filter each time you use the dryer.

Exterior: Wipe or dust any spills with a damp cloth. Some laundry pretreatment products can damage the control panel and finishes, so keep them away from the dryer.

The lint filter: Clean the filter before each use. Slide the grid out and move your fingers through the filter. Wax buildup from fabric softeners may occur; to remove it, wash the filter with soap and warm water. Dry it completely before replacing. Do not operate the dryer without the lint filter in place. Have a qualified technician vacuum the lint from the dryer once a year.

The exhaust duct: Inspect and clean the exhaust duct at least once a year to prevent clogging, which can lengthen drying time. To do this:

This is likely due to using too much detergent. You should measure detergent carefully. Use less soap if you have soft water, a smaller load, or a lightly soiled load.

Water leaks can be caused by several issues:

• Improperly connected hoses: Make sure the fill hose connections are tight at the faucets and the end of the drain hose is correctly inserted and secured to the drain facility.
• Clogged household drain: Check your household plumbing. You may need to call a plumber.
• Constant pressure on hoses: Tighten hoses at the faucets and turn the water off after each use. Check the condition of the fill hoses; they should be replaced every 5 years.
• Kinked or improperly connected drain hose: Straighten the drain hose and make sure the washer is not sitting on it. The top of the drain outlet should be less than 8 ft (2.5 m) above the floor.

If the water temperature seems wrong, check the following:

• Water supply: Ensure the hot and cold faucets are turned on completely and that the hoses are connected to the correct faucets.

• Incorrect sorting: Separate lint producers (like chenille) from lint collectors (like corduroy).
• Washing for too long: Wash small loads for a shorter time than larger loads.
• Detergent not dissolving: Add detergent as the basket is filling with water before loading clothes. Try a liquid detergent and use warmer water.
• Overloading: Load clothes loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket.
• Incorrect use of fabric softener: Check the fabric softener package and follow the directions for using the dispenser.

If the dryer doesn’t start:

• Dryer is unplugged: Make sure the dryer plug is pushed completely into the outlet.
• Fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped: Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Note that most electric dryers use 2 fuses/breakers.

If the dryer doesn’t heat:

• Fuse is blown/breaker is tripped: The dryer may dry but not heat. Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace both fuses or reset both breakers. The dryer may dry if only one fuse is blown or one breaker is tripped.
• Gas service is off (for gas models): Make sure main and dryer gas taps are completely open.

Greasy spots on clothes:

• Improper use of fabric softener: Follow the directions on the fabric softener package.
• Drying dirty items with clean ones: Use your dryer to dry only clean items. Dirty items can stain clean items and the dryer.
• Clothes were not completely clean: Sometimes stains that are not visible when wet appear after drying. Use proper washing procedures before drying.

Lint on clothes:

• Lint filter is full: Clean the lint screen before each load.

• Paper, tissue, etc. left in pockets: Empty all pockets before laundering clothes.

Static occurs:

• No fabric softener was used: Try a fabric softener.
• Overdrying: Try a fabric softener and set the dryer to LESS DRY or DAMP DRY.
• Synthetics, permanent press, and blends can cause static: Try a fabric softener.

If clothes are wrinkled:

• Overdrying: Select a shorter drying time. Remove items while they still hold a slight amount of moisture by selecting LESS DRY or DAMP DRY.
• Letting items sit in dryer: Fold or hang items immediately after the cycle ends.
• Overloading: Separate large loads into smaller ones.

If clothes shrink:

• Some fabrics shrink naturally when washed. Others can be safely washed but may shrink in the dryer. To avoid shrinkage, follow garment care labels exactly. Some items may be pressed back into shape after drying. If you are concerned about shrinkage in a particular item, do not wash or dry it.
