• Disconnect the automatic voltage regulator from the refrigerator.

• Connect the power surge protector to the power outlet and connect your refrigerator to the protector.

• Make sure that the regulator can withstand the power surges that occur in your house.

• If the voltage is low, it is best to leave your refrigerator disconnected until the power supply is restored to its normal values.

• To ground the circuit, follow the grounding regulations and call a qualified electrician.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent or a qualified electrician.

How do I control the temperature of the MABE RME1436X refrigerator compartment?

The refrigerator temperature control knob is located inside the compartment, to the right. To operate it, turn the knob to the right or left.

Position For control use For control use
0 Off To turn the refrigerator off.
1 to 3 Minimum For warmer weather or for saving energy.
4 to 6 Medium To maintain the temperature of your refrigerator in a normal position.
7 to 9 Maximum For colder weather or to freeze food faster.

Note: The interior temperature and cold may vary depending on the ambient temperature. In the hot months of the year, the interior of the refrigerator will be warmer, while in the cold months, the interior temperature will be colder. To reach the desired temperature, the control may need to be increased. It is recommended to not open the door frequently, as this affects the interior temperature of the refrigerator.

How does the air regulator system work in the MABE RME1436X?

Your MABE RME1436X refrigerator is equipped with an additional control (air regulator). This regulator controls the flow of cold air between the fresh food compartment and the freezer compartment. You can adjust the air regulator control to distribute the cold air between the two compartments.

If you wish to adjust it, use a coin inserted in the slot (F), turn it to the right or to the left. At the left end, all cold air will be generated in the freezer compartment. At the right end, the cold air will be distributed evenly between the two compartments, the freezer and the fresh food compartment. Once the adjustment is made, do not move it, as this would make it lose its calibration. It is recommended to not move it unless the ambient temperature changes, to save energy.

Why are the areas near the freezer on my MABE RME1436X warm?

Your MABE RME1436X refrigerator is equipped with a device that prevents condensation. The heating of the refrigerator’s outer walls is normal and is due to a heat exchanger which works as a condenser. The heating in the outer walls of the refrigerator prevents the “sweating” of the refrigerators. At certain times of the year, in hot weathers, slight condensation may form. Dry with a soft cloth.

What are the normal operating sounds for the MABE RME1436X refrigerator?

• Gas crunching sound. It is heard when the ice breaks. It is the same noise heard when the ice trays are bent to remove the ice cubes. It is normal. It will disappear in time.

• Gas circulation sound. It is normal and it is similar to the boiling sound of liquids.

• Expansion sound. It is a characteristic sound of gas expansion in the refrigeration system. It is similar to the crackle that wood produces when burning.

• Fan motor sound. It is a characteristic sound of running air. It occurs when the refrigerator is going through its defrosting process.

• Thudding sound. This sound is due to the contraction and dilation of the inner walls when the cooling system is operating.

• Gurgling sound. It is the characteristic sound of bubbling water and the condensation water falling on the hot surfaces of the defrost system.

How do I troubleshoot common problems with my MABE RME1436X?

Problem Probable Cause What to do
Refrigerator does not cool The refrigerator is in the defrosting cycle. Wait for the cycle to finish.
The temperature control is in the “off” position. Turn the control to a different number.
The doors are opened too often. Don’t allow ice or bottles to keep the door open.
The gasket is not sealing properly. Clean the door gasket using mild soap and clear water.
External Condensation It’s normal during warm and humid weather. Dry the external surfaces with a clean, dry cloth.
Humidity of the gasket between the fresh food compartment and the freezer. It is normal for the atmospheric humidity to condense in this part.
Internal Condensation The door of the refrigerator is not closed properly. Food items are hot, and containers are not covered. Check that the door is closed properly. Do not place hot food items inside the refrigerator and use containers with lids.
It has become difficult to open the refrigerator door The door was opened too soon after it was closed, or it has not been used for a long period of time. Wait five minutes to open it again, this will allow the air pressure to equalize. If the door has not been used for 5 hours or more, it will require more force to open it.
