If you smell gas, follow these instructions for your safety:

1. Do not try to light a match or cigarette, or turn on any gas or electrical appliance.

2. Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your building.

3. Clear the room, building, or area of all occupants.

4. Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions carefully.

5. If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.

Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas can be explosive. If the hot water has not been used for two weeks or more, prevent the possibility of damage or injury by turning on all hot water faucets and allowing them to run for several minutes. Do this before using any electrical appliance connected to the hot water system. This simple procedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame or appliance during this process.

1. Gas dryers must be exhausted to the outside.

2. Use only rigid metal 4″ diameter ductwork inside the dryer cabinet. Use only rigid metal conductor or flexible metal 4″ diameter ductwork for exhausting to the outdoors. Never use plastic or other combustible, easy-to-puncture ductwork.

For your safety, please follow these instructions:

• Do not mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or acids such as vinegar and/or rust remover. Mixing different chemicals can produce a toxic gas which may cause death.

• Never attempt to operate this appliance if it is damaged, malfunctioning, partially disassembled, or has missing or broken parts, including a damaged cord or plug.

• Never reach into the appliance while it is moving.

• Before loading, unloading or adding clothes, wait until the machine has completely stopped.

• Clean the lint filter before each load to prevent lint buildup in the dryer or in the room. Do not use the dryer if the lint screen is not in place.

• Do not wash or dry articles that have been cleaned in, washed in, soaked in or spotted with combustible or explosive substances (such as wax, oil, paint, gasoline, degreasers, solvents, kerosene, etc.). Do not add these substances to the wash water.

• Do not place items exposed to cooking oils in your dryer. Items contaminated with cooking oils may contribute to a chemical reaction that could cause a clothes load to catch fire.

• Do not dry articles containing rubber, plastic or similar materials such as padded bras, tennis shoes, galoshes, bath mats, rugs, bibs, baby pants, plastic bags, pillows, etc. that may melt or burn.

• Garments labeled Dry Away from Heat or Do Not Tumble Dry (such as life jackets containing Kapok) must not be put in the dryer.

• Do not dry fiberglass articles in your dryer. Skin irritation could result from the remaining particles.

Follow these steps to operate your laundry center:

Step 1: Add detergent, liquid bleach, and optional fabric softener to their respective dispensers.

Step 2: Add clothing to the washer drum.

Step 3: Select the load size and other wash options, then select the wash cycle.

Step 4: Close the lid and press START.

Standard Loads: Place the load of clothes evenly around the infuser (preferably not over the infuser) so that the load is evenly distributed. The washing machine starts the cycle by turning the basket to accommodate the load for better cycle development.

Bulky Items: To wash your bulky items properly, a special accommodation is suggested. Take one end and insert it in a spiral shape, trying to keep the clothes arranged around the basket until ending in the other extreme. If the clothes exceed the indicated limit, you must compress slightly inside, making sure the volume is below the limit. For waterproof, water-resistant items, only use the Bulky cycle. DO NOT use other cycles for these items.

Important: DO NOT mix waterproof and non-waterproof items.

The Sanitized cycle is designed to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and germs found in clothing. For correct operation, you must use hot water; ensure that there is hot water in your installation. The cycle uses high-temperature water to ensure effectiveness.

Put the detergent in the bottom of the tub and then add the clothes. This cycle is ideal for high-cotton items like towels, jeans, sheets, and bathrobes.

For best cycle performance, set the “Temperature” and “Water Level” knobs to the “Automatic” position.

1. Selecting cycles: Turn the knob to select from among the available programs depending on the type of clothes you are going to wash. Each program controls the duration and intensity of the washing process.

2. Temperatures: Select the water temperature for the wash and rinse cycles.

3. Load size / Water level: There are 4 levels and one automatic sensor. Select the one you need or let the automatic sensor do it for you.

4. Selecting functions: Press the select button repeatedly to choose independent functions of the wash cycle or combinations of stages (wash only, rinse only, wash and spin, etc.). The lights will turn on to indicate the selected functions.

5. Start/pause: With this button, you can start operating your washer or pause it once in operation. To resume, just press the button again.

Your washer has a knob with 8 main programs designed to better clean and care for your clothes.

Selecting temperature:

• Manual mode: Turn the knob to select the right temperature for the type of clothes you are going to wash.

• Automatic mode: The washer has an automatic sensor position, where it automatically selects the right temperature based on the program. For best results, it is suggested to use the automatic setting or follow the fabric care label.

Load Size / Water Level:

• Manual mode: Turn the knob to select the water level according to the amount of laundry to be washed.

• Automatic mode: This washing machine has an automatic water sensor option, which will allow you to wash efficiently and save large amounts of water by assigning the ideal amount for each load. We recommend that you always use the automatic option.

*The maximum fill level is automatically selected in the bulky cycle.

Automatic mode: To start in automatic mode after programming your washer, press the start/pause button.

Personal touch mode: In this mode, you can go through the wash stages independently.

• eco: This function activates water consumption to decrease the amount of water in the cycle. SELECT THIS STAGE to activate THE WATER SAVING FUNCTION.

• Wash only: This function will fill the washer and then provide agitation. At the end of the wash stage, the spin light will turn on, without draining the water.

• Rinse only: Drains and spins the wash; while the spin light is on, it will then fill the tub with clean water and provide rinse agitation to complete the stage, without draining the water at the end. The rinse light will stay on.

• Only wash and rise: It will fill the washer and provide wash agitation. At the end, it will drain the washer and the spin light will come on. After that, it will fill the tub with clean water and provide rinse agitation to complete the cycle without draining the water at the end. The Rinse light will stay on.

• Only wash and spin: This function will fill the washer and provide wash agitation. At the end, it will drain the water and spin the clothes to complete the cycle. The spin light will stay on.

• Only rise and spin: This function will drain the water. The spin light will turn on and the tub will be filled with clean water for rinse agitation, and then drain the water and spin the clothing.

Using the dispenser:

The dispenser automatically releases liquid fabric softener at the proper time. Do not stop the washer or raise the lid during the first spin, as this will cause it to empty too soon.

1. Make sure the dispenser is securely attached to the agitator.

2. Use only liquid diluted fabric softener. Pour the recommended amount into the dispenser.

3. Add water to the dispenser until it reaches the maximum fill line.

4. Select the FABRIC SOFTENER setting for proper dispersion.

Note: Never pour fabric softener directly on clothes, as it may stain them. Do not pour bleach in the fabric softener dispenser.

Cleaning the dispenser:

1. Remove the dispenser from the top of the agitator.

2. Separate the dispenser cup from the cover by grasping the top and pushing down on the inside of the cup with your fingers.

3. To clean, soak both the dispenser cup and cover in a solution of 3.8 liters of warm water, 1/4 cup (60 ml) of heavy-duty liquid detergent, and 1 cup (240 ml) of bleach.

4. If necessary, loosen dirt with a clean, soft cloth after soaking. Do not use a stiff brush.

5. Rinse and reassemble the dispenser. Place it back on the agitator.

The water fill dilutes chlorine bleach as the washer fills for the wash cycle.

1. Check clothing care labels for special instructions.

2. Measure liquid bleach carefully, following instructions on the bottle. Never pour undiluted liquid chlorine bleach directly onto clothes or into the wash basket. Do not pour powdered bleach into the bleach funnel.

3. Before starting the washer, pour the measured amount of bleach directly into the bleach funnel. Avoid splashing or overfilling.

Important: Do not mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or acids such as vinegar and/or rust remover. Mixing can produce a toxic gas which may cause death.

Sorting wash loads: Sort by color (whites, lights, colors), soil level, and fabric type (sturdy cottons, easy care, delicates). Also consider whether the fabric produces lint (terry cloth) or collects lint (velveteen, corduroy).

Proper use of detergent: Add detergent and turn on the washer before adding items so the detergent can work effectively. Using too little or too much detergent is a common cause of laundry problems. You can use less detergent if you have soft water, a smaller load, or a lightly soiled load.

Loading the washer: Load the washer with dry items, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket. When loading wet items, set the right water level for items to move about freely. The water level should just cover the clothes. To add items after the washer has started, lift the lid and submerge additional items in the water.

Wash basket: Leave the lid open after washing to allow moisture to evaporate. If you want to clean the basket, use a clean soft cloth dampened with liquid detergent, then rinse. Do not use harsh or gritty cleaners.

Fill hoses: It is recommended to change hoses every 5 years.

Exterior: Immediately wipe off any spills. Wipe with a damp cloth. Try not to hit the surface with sharp objects.

Long vacations: Be sure the water supply is shut off at the faucets. Drain all water from the hoses if the weather will be below freezing.

Automatic cycles automatically determine fabric dryness. Select “less dry” if you want your clothes slightly damp at the end of the cycle. Select “more dry” if you want them to be more dry.

• High: For regular to heavy cottons. For most loads, select OPTIMUM DRY.

• Sanitized: Do not use delicate clothing such as lycra, sports, or items with a high percentage of synthetic. Do not put in more than 6 clothes that have laces or ribbons.

• Medium: For synthetics, blends, and items labeled permanent press.

• Low: For delicates, synthetics, and special care knits. Items labeled tumble dry low.

• Easy Care: For wrinkle-free garments, permanent ironing, and items that need special care when drying.

• Cottons: For garments with cotton, fabrics combined with cotton, and most white garments.

• Delicates: For mostly synthetic clothes, small thin, baby clothes, or underwear that require special care.

Timed dry cycles run for a selected time.

• Dewrinkle: For removing wrinkles from items that are clean and very lightly damp.

• Fluff: For freshening or removing lint from already dry clothing.

To start a timed cycle, close the dryer door and press start. Opening the door during operation will stop the dryer. To restart, close the door and select start.

Exterior: Wipe or dust any spills or washing compounds with a damp cloth.

The lint filter: Clean the filter before each use. Slide the grid that covers the filter out and move your fingers through the filter. Wax buildup may form due to fabric softeners; to remove this residue, wash the lint filter with soap and warm water. Dry completely before replacing it. Do not operate the dryer without the lint filter in place.

The exhaust duct: Inspect and clean the exhaust duct at least once a year to prevent clogging. A partially clogged exhaust can lengthen drying time. To clean:

1. Turn off the electrical supply by disconnecting the plug from the wall socket.

2. Disconnect the duct from the dryer.

3. Vacuum the duct with a hose attachment and reconnect it.

The exhaust hood: With a mirror, make sure the inner flaps of the exhaust hood move freely when operating. Ensure there is no wildlife (birds, insects, etc.) nesting inside the duct or hood.

For the best drying performance, the dryer needs to be properly vented. The dryer will use more energy and run longer if ventilation does not meet the following specifications:

• Use only rigid metal 4″ diameter material for the duct inside the dryer cabinet. Use only rigid or flexible metal 4″ diameter material approved by UL for the exhaust leading to the outside.

• Do not use plastic or other combustible ductwork.

• Use the shortest length possible.

• Do not crush or collapse the duct.

• Avoid resting the duct on sharp objects.

• Venting must conform to local building codes.

This is likely caused by using too much detergent. Measure detergent carefully. Use less soap if you have soft water, a smaller load, or a lightly soiled load.

There are several possible causes for water leaks:

• Improperly connected hoses: Make sure hose connections are tight at faucets and washers, and that the end of the drain hose is correctly inserted and secured to the drain facility.

• Clogged household drain: Check your household plumbing. You may need to call a plumber.

• Constant pressure on hoses: Tighten hoses at the faucets and turn the water off after each use. Check the condition of fill hoses; they should be replaced every 5 years.

• Kinked or improperly connected drain hose: Straighten the drain hose and make sure the washer is not sitting on it. The top of the drain outlet should be less than 8 ft (2.5 m) above the floor.

• Water supply issue: Turn hot and cold faucets on completely and ensure hoses are connected to the correct faucets.

• Clogged mesh filters: Turn off the water source and remove the connection hoses from the upper back of the washer. Use a brush to clean the washer valves. Reconnect the hoses and turn the water back on.

• Improperly set water heater: Make sure the house water heater is delivering water at 120°F–140°F (48°C–60°C).

• Washer is unplugged: Make sure the cord is plugged securely into a working outlet.

• Water supply is off: Turn both hot and cold faucets fully on.

• Controls are not set properly: Check the controls.

• Lid is open: The safety feature prevents agitation and spinning when the lid is open. Close the lid and restart the cycle.

• Circuit breaker/fuse is tripped/blown: Check your house circuit breakers/fuses. Replace fuses or reset the breaker. The washer should have a separate outlet.

• Electronics need to be reset: Unplug the washer, wait 2 minutes, plug it back in, and press START.

• START was not pressed: Press START.

• Lid magnet is missing: Call for service.

This is due to an incorrect spin cycle selection. Make sure the spin cycle selected matches the load you are washing. Some fabrics will feel wetter when rinsed with cold water.

This could be from incorrect use of fabric softener or dye transfer. Check the fabric softener package for instructions and follow directions for using the dispenser. Pretreat stains and rewash. Also, separate whites or lightly colored items from dark colors.

Several factors can cause this:

• Insufficient detergent: Use more detergent, especially with larger loads. Follow the manufacturer’s directions.

• Hard water: Use a water conditioner or install a water softener.

• Water not hot enough: Make sure the water heater is delivering water at 120°F – 140°F (48°C – 60°C).

• Washer overloaded: Select a load size based on the laundry load.

• Detergent not dissolving: Add detergent as the basket is filling with water before loading clothes.

• Dye transfer: Sort clothes by color. If a fabric label states to wash separately, unstable dyes may be indicated.

• Clothes are air or line dried: If you do not use a clothes dryer, your clothes may retain more lint.

• Incorrect sorting: Separate lint producers (like terry cloth) from lint collectors (like corduroy).

• Washing too long: Wash small loads for a shorter time than larger loads.

• Detergent not dissolving: Add detergent as the basket is filling with water before loading clothes. Try a liquid detergent and use warmer water.

• Overloading: Load clothes loosely, no higher than the top row of holes in the washer basket.

• Incorrect use of fabric softener: Check the fabric softener package for instructions.

If your dryer doesn’t start, check the following:

• Dryer is unplugged: Make sure the dryer plug is pushed completely into the outlet.

• Fuse is blown/circuit breaker is tripped: Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. Note: Most electric dryers use 2 fuses/breakers.

• Fuse is blown/breaker is tripped: Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace both fuses or reset both breakers. The dryer may dry if only one fuse is blown or one breaker is tripped.

• Gas service is off: If you have a gas dryer, make sure the main and dryer gas taps are completely open.

Greasy spots: This can be caused by improper use of fabric softener or drying dirty items with clean ones. Follow directions on the fabric softener package and use your dryer to dry only clean items.

Lint on clothes:

• Lint filter is full: Clean the lint screen before each load.

• Improper sorting: Sort lint producers (like chenille) from lint collectors (like corduroy).

• Static electricity can attract lint.

• Overloading: Separate large loads into smaller ones.

• Paper, tissue, etc. left in pockets: Empty all pockets before laundering clothes.

Wrinkling can be caused by several factors:

• Overdrying: Select a shorter drying time. Remove items while they still hold a slight amount of moisture by selecting a LESS DRY or DAMP DRY setting.

• Letting items sit in the dryer: Fold or hang items immediately after the cycle finishes.

• Overloading: Separate large loads into smaller ones.

Some fabrics shrink naturally when washed. Others can be safely washed but may shrink in the dryer. To avoid shrinkage, follow garment care labels exactly. Some items may be pressed back into shape after drying. If you are concerned about shrinkage in a particular item, do not wash or dry it.
