To use full screen navigation gestures on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3, first go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and ensure Gestures is selected. Here are the basic gestures:

Return to the previous screen: Swipe inward from the left or right edge of the screen.

Return to the home screen: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

Access multitasking screen: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and hold.

End a task: In the multitasking screen, swipe up on the task card.

Switch apps: Swipe along the bottom edge of the screen. To enable this, go to System navigation, tap Settings, and make sure Slide across bottom to switch apps is turned on. Alternatively, you can swipe in an arc along the bottom edge of the screen.

To enable knuckle gestures on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures. Once enabled, you can perform the following actions:

Take a screenshot: Knock twice on the screen with a knuckle.

Take a scrolling screenshot (scrollshot): Knock on the screen with a knuckle and draw an “S”.

Capture part of the screen: Knock and draw an enclosed area with a knuckle.

Record screen: Knock twice on the screen with two knuckles to start or end a screen recording.

You can use the physical buttons on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3 for the following functions:

Power off/Restart: Long press the power button until the Power off and Restart menus appear, then tap the corresponding menu option.

Volume up: Press the volume up button.

Volume down: Press the volume down button.

Screenshot: Press the volume down button and the power button simultaneously.

You can choose between gesture navigation and three-key navigation on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3.

Use gesture navigation:

Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and select Gestures.

Use Three-Key Navigation:

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation, and select Three-key navigation.

2. You can then use the on-screen keys:

– Touch the triangle key to return to the previous menu or exit the current app.

– Touch the circle key to return to the home screen.

– Touch the square key to access the recent tasks screen.

3. You can touch Settings within the navigation menu to select a different navigation key combination.

Device Clone allows you to move basic data like contacts, calendar, images, and videos from your old phone to your new HONOR X8A CRT-LX3.

Migrate Data from an Android Device:

1. On your new HONOR X8A CRT-LX3, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch This is the new device, then touch Honor or Other Android.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow instructions to connect by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Transfer. (Device Clone is available on phones running Android 7.0 or later).

Migrate Data from an iPhone or iPad:

1. On your new HONOR X8A CRT-LX3, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch This is the new device, then touch iPhone/iPad.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow instructions to connect by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone and follow the instructions to complete the cloning. (Device Clone is available on phones running iOS 8.0 or later).

Set the Screen Timeout Period:

Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Sleep and select a screen timeout period.

Turn On the Screen:

– Press the Power button.

– Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Wake screen, and enable Raise to wake.

Unlock the Screen:

– With Password: Once the screen is on, swipe up from the middle of the screen and enter your lock screen password.

– With Face Unlock: Turn on the screen and align it with your face. The phone will unlock once your face is recognized.

– With Fingerprint: Press an enrolled finger against the fingerprint sensor.

Add service cards by swiping up on app icons:

Swipe up on app icons that support service cards to unfold them. Tap the pin icon in the upper right corner to pin it to the home screen.

Add service cards by editing the home screen:

Pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter the edit screen. Tap Cards, select an app like Gallery or Weather, choose your preferred style, and tap ADD TO HOME SCREEN.

Add Classic Widgets (Weather, Clock, etc.):

Pinch two fingers on the home screen, tap Cards, find and enter Classic widgets, and tap a widget to add it.

Remove service cards:

Long press the service card, select Remove in the pop-up list, then tap REMOVE in the confirmation box.

Big folders allow you to access apps without opening the folder itself.

Create big folders:

Long press a standard folder and tap Enlarge. You can also long press the big folder to rename it.

Use big folders:

– Tap an app icon in the big folder to open it directly.

– Tap the layers icon in the lower right corner to expand the folder and see more apps.

Switch display mode:

Long press the big folder and tap Shrink to restore it to a standard folder.

Your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3 offers several ways to take screenshots.

Use Your Knuckle:

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Take screenshot, and enable Knuckle screenshots.

2. Knock the screen twice in quick succession with one knuckle for a full screenshot.

Use a Key Combination:

Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons simultaneously.

Use the Shortcut Switch:

Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and tap the screenshot icon.

Take a Scrolling Screenshot:

– After taking a regular screenshot, a thumbnail will appear in the lower-left corner. Swipe down on the thumbnail to start a scrolling screenshot.

– Alternatively, tap the screen with one knuckle, hold it, and draw an “S” shape. The screen will automatically scroll down.

Take a Partial Screenshot:

Knock on the screen with a knuckle and hold to draw an outline around the part of the screen you want to capture.

Swipe Down with Three Fingers:

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Take screenshot, and enable Three-finger screenshot.

2. Swipe down from the middle of the screen with three fingers.

You can record your screen using several methods on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3.

Use a Key Combination:

Press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons simultaneously to start recording. Press and hold both buttons again to stop.

Use a Shortcut:

1. Swipe down from the status bar to show the notification panel, then swipe down again to show all shortcuts.

2. Touch Screen Recorder to start.

3. To stop, touch the timer at the top of the screen.

Use Two Knuckles:

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Record screen, and ensure Record screen is enabled.

2. Knock the screen twice in quick succession with two knuckles to start. Knock twice again to stop.

To record your voice during the screen recording, tap the microphone icon after starting the recording to enable it.

View Notifications:

When you have a notification, unlock the screen and swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and view it.

Clear Notifications:

– Swipe right on a notification to remove it.

– Touch the trash can icon to clear all notifications.

Manage Notification Settings for an App:

To stop being disturbed by notifications, swipe left on the notification you want to process, tap the settings icon, and you can select:

– USE GENTLE NOTIFICATIONS

– DISABLE NOTIFICATIONS

– More settings

Adjust Volume:

Press the Volume up or down button.

Mute an Incoming Call or Alarm:

When your phone rings, press the Power button to mute it.

Change Ringtone and Vibration:

1. Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration and tap Phone ringtone or Notification tone.

2. Select a system ringtone or tap Music on device to choose a local song. You can also tap Vibration to select a vibration mode.

Toggle Ring, Vibration, or Silent Mode:

Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel. Swipe down again and tap the Sound, Silent, or Vibration icon to toggle between modes.

Flip to Mute:

To enable, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Mute ringtone/Reduce volume and make sure Flip to mute ringtone is turned on. When you receive a call, flip the phone to mute it.

Enable Split-Screen Mode:

1. Open an app.

2. Swipe inward from the left or right edge and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

3. Drag an app icon out of the Multi-Window dock.

Exit Split-Screen Mode: Touch and hold the bar in the middle of the split screen line and drag it until one pane disappears.

Use the Floating Window:

1. Swipe inward from the left or right edge and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

2. Touch an app icon in the dock to open it in a floating window.

Manage the Floating Window:

– Relocate: Drag the bar at the top of the window.

– Resize: Drag any corner of the window.

– Display in full screen: Swipe down from the note bar at the bottom of the window or touch the expand icon at the top.

– Minimize: Shake the window quickly or touch the minimize icon. The window will shrink into a floating bubble.

– Close: Swipe up from the note bar at the bottom of the window or touch the close icon.

Power On:

Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until your device vibrates and displays the logo.

Power Off:

Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, touch Power off, and then Touch to power off.

Restart:

Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, touch Restart, and then Touch to restart.

Forcefully Restart:

If your phone is not working normally, press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons for more than 10 seconds to force a restart.

You can check the battery level from the icon on the phone screen. Here’s what the different icons mean:

Connecting your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3 to a Windows PC via Phone Link lets you manage notifications, photos, calls, and more on your PC.

1. On your phone, swipe down to open the notification panel and tap Link to Windows, or go to Settings > More connections > Link to Windows.

2. For the first time, tap Link your phone and PC on your phone. On your Windows PC, visit http://www.aka.ms/phonelinkQRC with a browser to open the QR code.

3. Scan the QR code on the PC screen with your phone to log in and connect. Follow the on-screen prompts to set permissions.

4. For later use, simply enable Link to Windows on your phone to connect.

Both your phone and PC need to be connected to the Internet for this function to work.

1. Prepare the large display based on its capabilities:

– If the large display supports Miracast, turn on its wireless projection switch.

– If it does not support Miracast, connect a wireless HDMI adapter to it and ensure the adapter is powered.

2. On your phone, swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and turn on the Wi-Fi icon.

3. Swipe down again to show all shortcuts and enable Wireless Projection. Your phone will begin searching for available display devices.

4. In the device list, touch the name corresponding to the large display or wireless HDMI adapter to connect.

To end the projection, swipe down from the status bar and touch Disconnect.

HONOR Share is a wireless technology for quick file transfers.

Enable or Disable HONOR Share:

– Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, swipe down again, and turn HONOR Share on or off.

– Go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share to enable or disable it.

Share Files Between Phones:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On your sending HONOR X8A CRT-LX3, tap and hold to select a file or album, then tap the share icon. Tap HONOR Share, then tap the name of the receiving device.

3. On the receiving device, tap ACCEPT to receive the file.

Share Files From Your Phone to a PC:

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

2. On your phone, enable HONOR Share.

3. On your PC, turn on PC Manager > HONOR Share and ensure ‘Allow discovery by other devices’ is enabled.

4. Long press the file on your phone, tap the share icon, and select HONOR Share. Tap the PC’s name to share.

Portrait Mode:

1. Open Camera and select PORTRAIT mode.

2. Point the camera at your subject. Tap the beauty icon to adjust the beauty effect.

3. Tap the shutter button to take a photo.

Night Mode:

1. Open Camera and select Night mode.

2. Steady your phone and touch the shutter button.

3. Your phone will adjust the exposure time. Keep your phone steady until the countdown finishes.

Wide Aperture Photos:

1. Open Camera and select APERTURE mode.

2. Touch where you want to focus. For best results, your subject should be within 2 meters.

3. Touch the aperture icon in the viewfinder and drag the slider to adjust the blur effect. A smaller value creates a more blurred background.

4. Touch the shutter button to take the photo.

Pro mode gives you full control over camera settings.

1. Open Camera and go to MORE > PRO mode.

2. You can set the following parameters:

– Metering method (M): Choose between Center-focused or Point metering.

– ISO sensitivity (ISO): Tap and slide to adjust. Increase for low light, decrease for bright light.

– Shutter speed (S): Tap and slide to adjust. A lower speed is for still subjects, a higher speed is for moving subjects.

– Exposure compensation (EV·): Tap and slide to adjust. Increase for low light, decrease for bright light.

– Focus (AF·): Select from AF-S (Single), AF-C (Continuous), or MF (Manual Focus).

– White Balance (WB·): Select a preset or tap the color temperature icon to adjust.

3. Tap the shutter button to shoot.

Shoot Slow-Mo Videos:

1. Go to Camera > MORE and select Slow-mo mode.

2. Touch the speed icon and select 4x or 8x.

3. Touch the record button to start recording, and touch it again to end.

Use Time-Lapse to Create a Short Video:

1. Go to Camera > MORE and select TIME-LAPSE mode.

2. Place your phone in a steady position, using a tripod is recommended to reduce shake.

3. Touch the record button to start, and touch it again to end. The video is automatically saved to Gallery.

Basic Photo Editing:

1. Open Gallery, touch the thumbnail of the photo you want to edit, then touch the edit icon.

2. You can use features like:

– Crop: Select a frame and drag the grid to select the part you want to keep. You can also rotate the photo.

– Filter: Touch to select a filter effect.

– Adjust: Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and other aspects.

– More: Access other tools like adding a color splash, blur, doodle, or label.

3. Touch the save icon to save your edits.

Video Editing:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums and touch the video you want to edit.

2. Touch the edit icon to display the video editing screen, where you can:

– Select a theme (Template).

– Trim the video clips (Edit).

– Add transitions between clips (Cut).

– Apply filters, edit background music, and add intro/outro text.

3. When finished, touch the preview icon and then the save icon to export the video.

Add Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums.

2. Touch the plus icon, name the album, then touch OK.

3. Select the photos or videos you want to add, and then move or copy them to the new album.

Sort Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums > More icon and touch Sort albums.

2. Drag the icon next to an album to the desired position. Touch Reset to return to the default order.

Move Photos and Videos:

1. Open an album, then touch and hold to select the photos and videos you want to move.

2. Touch Move > Move to select the destination album.

Delete Photos and Videos:

Touch and hold to select the items you want to delete, then go to Delete > Delete. Deleted items are temporarily moved to the Recently deleted album.

Manually create contacts:

On the Contacts screen, tap the plus icon, enter the contact’s information, and tap the checkmark to save.

Merge duplicate contacts:

On the Contacts interface, go to the menu (three dots) > Settings > Organize contacts > Merge duplicate contacts, select the duplicates, and tap Merge.

Delete contacts:

– Long press the contact to be deleted and tap Delete.

– Go to the menu (three dots) > Settings > Organize contacts > Delete multiple contacts, select the contacts, and tap Delete at the bottom.

Manage contact groups:

1. Open Contacts and select the Groups tab.

2. Tap New, enter a group name, and tap OK.

3. On the group screen, tap Add members to add contacts to the group.

Make a Call:

– Open the Phone app, enter part of a phone number or contact’s name to find a contact, then touch to make the call.

– Open Phone, touch the Contacts tab, and select a contact to call.

Use Speed Dial:

Go to Phone > menu (three dots) > Settings > Speed dial, select a number key, and assign a contact to it.

Enable Call Waiting:

Go to Phone > menu (three dots) > Settings and then go to More > Call waiting to enable it. This lets you answer a new call while another is in progress.

Filter and Block Spam Calls:

1. Go to Phone > menu (three dots) > Blocked.

2. Touch Call block rules and toggle the switches for the types of calls you want to block.

Clean Up Phone Storage:

1. Open System Manager, then touch Cleanup.

2. When the scan is complete, touch CLEAN UP after each item to delete unneeded files.

Manage Data Usage:

Open System Manager, then touch Data usage to view usage and manage network access. You can see which apps consume the most data and set limits for them.

Enable Smart Data Saver:

On the Data usage screen, touch Smart Data Saver and enable it to prevent apps from using mobile data in the background.

Filter and Block Spam Calls:

Go to System Manager > Blocked. Here you can set call block rules and manage blocked numbers.

Connect to a Wi-Fi Network:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and enable Wi-Fi.

2. Select a network from the Available networks list. A password is required for encrypted networks. To add a network manually, scroll to the bottom, touch Add network, and enter the SSID and password.

Transfer Data Using Wi-Fi Direct:

1. On the receiving device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and enable Wi-Fi.

2. Then go to More settings > Wi-Fi Direct to start searching for nearby devices.

3. On your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3, select the files to share, tap the share icon, and select Wi-Fi Direct.

4. Touch the icon of the receiving device to connect and share the files.

Select a Network Using Wi-Fi+:

Go to Settings > Wi-Fi > More settings and enable or disable Wi-Fi+. When enabled, your phone will automatically switch between known Wi-Fi networks and mobile data for the best connection.

Adjust Screen Brightness:

– Go to Settings > Display & brightness and enable Automatic for auto-adjustment.

– To manually adjust, swipe down from the status bar and drag the brightness slider, or do so in the Display & brightness settings screen.

Use Eye Comfort Mode:

This mode reduces blue light to relieve eye fatigue. Swipe down from the status bar and turn Eye Comfort on or off. You can also go to Settings > Display & brightness > Eye Comfort to schedule it or adjust the filter level.

Enable Dark Mode:

Go to Settings > Display & brightness and tap Dark. You can also schedule it to turn on and off automatically from sunset to sunrise.

Adjust Screen Refresh Rate:

For a smoother visual experience, go to Settings > Display & brightness > Screen refresh rate, and select your preferred rate.

Enroll a Fingerprint:

1. Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Fingerprint ID and enter your lock screen password.

2. Touch New fingerprint to begin.

3. Place your fingertip on the fingerprint sensor. Lift and press again when you feel a vibration, moving your finger around to enroll different parts of it.

4. When complete, touch OK.

Enroll Facial Data:

1. Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Face Recognition, and enter your lock screen password.

2. Touch GET STARTED and follow the onscreen instructions to enroll your facial data.

Once enrolled, you can use these biometrics to unlock your phone, access your Safe, or open locked apps.

Enable Power Saving Mode:

Go to Settings > Battery and enable Power Saving mode. This restricts background apps and visual effects to extend battery life. It is recommended when your battery is below 20%.

Enable Performance Mode:

If available on your device, go to Settings > Battery and enable Performance mode for maximum performance, which will drain the battery faster.

Enable Smart Charge:

Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings, and enable Smart Charge. This feature learns your charging habits to manage the process intelligently and prolong battery life, especially for overnight charging.

Display Battery Percentage:

Go to Settings > Battery, touch Battery percentage, and choose whether to display the percentage inside or next to the battery icon.

Use App Lock to Protect Your Privacy:

1. Go to Settings > Security > App Lock > ENABLE.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to set the App Lock password and select the apps to lock.

3. If you have face or fingerprint unlock enabled, you can link it to App Lock for easier access.

Use Password Vault to automatically fill in passwords:

Password Vault saves your app usernames and passwords securely on your device. When you log in to an app, your phone will offer to save the credentials. The next time you log in, you can use your lock screen password, fingerprint, or face ID to autofill the information. You must set a lock screen password before using this feature.

To view or delete stored passwords, go to Settings > Security > Password Vault > ACCOUNTS.

Operate Your Phone with One Hand:

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > One-Handed mode, and enable it.

2. Access One-Handed mode depending on your navigation style:

– If using Gestures, slide across the bottom of the screen and hold.

– If using Three-key navigation, slide across the bottom of the screen.

3. Touch any area outside the mini-screen view to exit.

Set Scheduled Power On/Off:

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Scheduled power on/off, and enable it.

2. Set the power on and off times, as well as the repeat cycle. Your phone will then power on and off automatically at the specified times.

Your HONOR X8A CRT-LX3 provides several reset options.

Reset Network Settings:

This will reset your Wi-Fi, mobile data network, and Bluetooth settings. It will not delete any other data. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset network settings, and follow the instructions.

Restore All Settings:

This resets all network settings, your lock screen password, and home screen layout. Enrolled fingerprints and facial data will also be deleted. It does not delete files like photos and music. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset all settings, and follow the instructions.

Restore Factory Settings (Factory Reset):

This operation will erase all data on your phone, including accounts, app data, system settings, installed apps, music, and images. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset phone, touch Reset phone, and follow the instructions to restore your phone to its factory settings.
