To ensure comfort and measurement accuracy for your HONOR Band 9, please follow these guidelines:

Make sure the back of your HONOR Band 9 is clean and dry, and adjust the strap so that your band fits snugly and comfortably on your wrist.

Do not put a protective film on the back of your band, as it may block the sensor and lead to failed or inaccurate measurements of heart rate, SpO2, sleep, and other monitoring data.

To ensure the accuracy of the monitoring results, wear your band at least one finger away from your wrist. Don’t wear it too loosely or too tightly, but make sure that it is attached securely during a workout.

Your HONOR Band 9 uses non-toxic materials that have passed strict skin allergy tests. You can rest easy when wearing it. If you experience skin discomfort when wearing it, take it off and consult a doctor.


How do I power on, power off, and restart my HONOR Band 9?

Power on

Your HONOR Band 9 will automatically power on when plugged in to charge.

Power off

1. Touch the screen to light it up, swipe left on the watch face to enter the app list and select Settings > System > Power off.

2. The band will also power off automatically after an ultra-low battery vibration alert.

Restart

Touch the screen to light it up, swipe left on the watch face to enter the app list and select Settings > System > Restart.

4. Place your HONOR Band 9 close to your phone. Open the HONOR Health app and go to Device > Add device. The app will automatically scan for available devices. Select your HONOR Band 9 and pair it according to the onscreen instructions.

5. If a pairing request appears on your band, tap the checkmark icon to confirm the pairing on your phone.

If you don’t see the HONOR Band 9 in the list of automatically found devices, tap Scan, scan the QR code on the band, and pair it according to the onscreen instructions.

After a successful pairing, your band will display a success message. If the pairing fails, your band will display a failure message and return to the power-on screen.

1. Install the HONOR Health app. You can scan the QR code in the user guide to download and install the latest version.

2. Open HONOR Health, tap Me > Log in to HONOR ID, and log in with your account.

3. Power on your HONOR Band 9 and select the language.

4. Place your HONOR Band 9 close to your phone. Open the HONOR Health app and go to Device > Add device. Then, select the target band in the list to pair it.

How do I charge my HONOR Band 9 and check the battery level?

Charging the Band

1. Connect the charging dock, charging cable, and power adapter. Note that for some models, the charging cable and dock are a single piece. Connect the adapter to an electrical outlet.

2. Place your HONOR Band 9 on the charging dock, making sure the back of the band is in contact with the dock until the charging indication appears on the screen.

Checking the Battery Level

You can check the battery percentage in four ways:

Method 1: Swipe down on the watch face to view the battery percentage in the drop-down menu.

Method 2: When charging, view the battery percentage on the charging indicator screen.

Method 3: View the battery percentage on a watch face that supports displaying the battery level.

Method 4: View the battery percentage from the device details page of the HONOR Health App.


What are the safety precautions for charging the HONOR Band 9?

Please follow these safety precautions when charging your HONOR Band 9:

Please use an Honor adapter, PC USB port, or power adapter that complies with applicable national/regional regulations and international safety standards. Other adapters and portable chargers may not meet safety standards and could cause issues like slow or insufficient charging.

Keep the surface of the charging port and dock dry and clean to prevent short circuits or other risks. Do not charge or use the product where flammable and explosive items are stored.

When using the charging dock, ensure there is no liquid residue or other foreign matter in the USB port. Keep it away from liquids and flammable items. Do not touch the electrode contacts of the dock while it’s charging to prevent safety hazards.

When charging is complete (indicator shows 100%), the charging will automatically stop. If the charger remains connected when the power is less than 100%, charging will resume automatically.

The charging dock contains magnets which can attract metal objects. Clean it before use. The magnetic substance also means it should not be exposed to high temperatures for long periods, which could lead to demagnetization or other issues.


How do I start, manage, and view workouts on my HONOR Band 9?

Starting a Workout on Your Band

1. On the app list on your band, go to Workout.

2. Select a course or workout. You can also tap Custom to add other workouts.

3. Tap the Start icon to begin.

During a Workout

You can swipe left or right to switch between the workout control screen, workout data, and music. On the control screen, you can pause, continue, or end the workout.

Ending a Workout

Swipe left or right and tap the stop icon on the workout control screen to end the workout.

Automatic Workout Detection

1. On the app list, go to Settings > Workout settings and turn on Auto-detect workouts.

2. When the band detects that you are exercising, it will remind you to start a workout.

Currently, automatically detected workouts include indoor/outdoor walk, indoor/outdoor run, elliptical, and rower.

Viewing Workout Records

On the app list on your band, go to Workout records to view the details of a workout record. You can view up to 10 records on the band. For all records, open the HONOR Health app, go to Health and select More to view all workout data.


How can I customize the workout list on my HONOR Band 9?

Adding a workout:

On the app list on your band, go to Workout, swipe up, and tap Custom > Add. Select a workout, check the workout type you want to add, swipe right to go back, and then tap OK.

Removing a workout:

On the app list on your band, go to Workout, tap the settings icon of the target workout to enter the settings screen, then tap Remove.

Sorting workouts:

On the app list on your band, go to Workout > Custom and tap the sort icon of a workout to adjust its order. You can move common workouts up the workout app list.


How do I view my training status and daily activity records on the HONOR Band 9?

Viewing Training Status

On the app list on your HONOR Band 9, go to Workout status to view data such as Fatigue and Training load.

Fatigue: Indicates how tired you are after a workout.

Training load: It is the 7-day training load used to determine your level based on your fitness status. It’s collected from workouts that track your heart rate.

Viewing Daily Activity Records on Your Band

On the app list, go to Activity records and swipe to view steps, activity time, calories burned, active hours, and distance. The three rings represent:

1. Steps: Number of steps walked that day (goal defaults to 10,000).

2. Activity time (in minutes): Time spent in moderate-to-vigorous exercise (goal defaults to 30 minutes).

3. Active calories: Calories burned through activity.

If your band is connected to HONOR Health, you can view detailed activity records on the health screen of the app.


How do I measure my heart rate with the HONOR Band 9?

Continuous Heart Rate Measurement

1. Open the HONOR Health app and go to the device details screen.

2. Tap Health Alert > Continuous Heart Rate Measurement and ensure it is enabled (it is on by default).

Single Heart Rate Measurement

First, disable Continuous Heart Rate Measurement in the HONOR Health app. Then, on the app list on your HONOR Band 9, go to Heart rate to measure your heart rate for a single time.

Real-time Heart Rate During a Workout

When you start a workout on your band, it will automatically measure and track your heart rate in real time.

Resting Heart Rate

With Continuous Heart Rate Measurement enabled in the HONOR Health app, your band will automatically measure your resting heart rate. The best time for this measurement is when you are awake and still in the morning.


How can I set up heart rate alerts on my HONOR Band 9?

Resting Heart Rate Alert

After setting High and Low heart rate reminders, your band will alert you if it detects your heart rate has been outside the set limit for more than 10 minutes while you are inactive.

1. Open the HONOR Health app and go to the device details screen.

2. Tap Health Alert > Continuous Heart Rate Measurement and ensure it is enabled.

3. Set a High heart rate reminder and a Low heart rate reminder.

Maximum Heart Rate Alert During a Workout

If your heart rate exceeds the set limit for more than one minute during a workout, your band will vibrate to alert you.

1. Open the HONOR Health app and go to Exercise.

2. Select the workout mode, and tap the settings icon > Workout settings > Exercise heart rate settings.

3. Set the maximum heart rate and toggle on High heart rate.


How does the HONOR Band 9 monitor my sleep and how can I view the data?

Sleep Monitoring

Wear your HONOR Band 9 correctly while sleeping, and it will automatically recognize when you fall asleep, wake up, and whether you are in deep or light sleep. For more detailed analysis, including REM sleep, you can enable Healthy Sleep.

To enable Healthy Sleep:

1. Open the HONOR Health app and go to the device details screen.

2. Select Health Alert and toggle on Healthy sleep.

Note: Enabling Healthy sleep will consume more power. Short periods of sleep (less than three hours) are recorded as Naps.

Method 1 (On the band): On the app list, go to Sleep and swipe up to view Sleep and Naps.

Method 2 (On the app): Open the HONOR Health app and go to the Sleep card to view historical data by day, week, month, and year.

To ensure accurate measurements, wear your band properly and keep still during the measurement.

One-time SpO2 Measurement

1. On the app list on your band, go to SpO2.

2. Tap Measure and keep your body still to measure your current SpO2.

Continuous SpO2 Measurement

Your band can continuously monitor your SpO2 to help you understand your health in real time.

1. Open the HONOR Health app and go to the device details screen.

2. Tap Health Alert > Continuous oxygen measurement and enable Automatic blood oxygen monitoring. Your band will automatically measure your SpO2 when your wrist is still.

You can also set a Lower blood oxygen limit reminder, which will alert you if your SpO2 falls below a certain threshold while you are not sleeping.


How do I measure my fitness age and test my stress level on the HONOR Band 9?

Measuring Fitness Age

1. On the app list on your band, go to Fitness age.

2. Tap Measure to enter the personal information confirmation screen. Ensure your information is correct on HONOR Health.

3. After confirming your personal information, tap the checkmark icon and start the workout according to the onscreen instructions. The measurement involves a workout of about 25 minutes, preferably an outdoor run.

4. After the workout, your band will intelligently measure your fitness age.

Testing Your Stress

Single Stress Test: Open the HONOR Health app, tap the Stress card, and select Stress test.

Periodic Stress Test: In the HONOR Health app, go to the device details screen, select Health Alert, and toggle on Stress Detection. Tests will then be performed automatically when you wear your band correctly.

Viewing Stress Data

On the app list on your band, go to Stress to view daily stress records. You can also view detailed stress curves and suggestions in the HONOR Health app.


How do I use the Breathing Exercises and Sedentary Alert features on the HONOR Band 9?

Breathing Exercises

1. On the app list on your HONOR Band 9, go to Breathing exercises.

2. Tap the settings icons to set the duration (Breathe for: 1, 2, or 3 min) and tempo (Pace: Fast, Moderate, or Slow).

3. Tap the breathing exercise icon and follow the onscreen instructions.

Sedentary Alert

1. Open the HONOR Health app and go to the device details screen.

2. Tap Health Alert and toggle on Sedentary Alert.

3. You’ll receive a reminder if you stay inactive for an hour. Reminders are sent between 08:00 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 21:00. The band will not vibrate if you are asleep or Do not disturb is enabled.


How do I sync phone notifications and control music playback with my HONOR Band 9?

Sync Phone Notifications

1. On your phone, go to Settings > Notifications & status bar and enable notifications for apps.

2. In the HONOR Health app, go to the device details screen, tap Notifications, turn on Notifications and enable the switches for the apps from which you want to receive notifications.

You can view unread messages in the Message Center on your band. You can also delete single messages or clear all messages from the Message Center.

Control Mobile Phone Music

1. In the HONOR Health app, go to the device details screen, tap Music management, and toggle on Watch controls phone music.

2. Open the music app on your phone. On your band, open the Music app to enter the music control interface.

3. You can now play, pause, switch music, and control the volume from your HONOR Band 9.


How can I use my HONOR Band 9 as a remote camera shutter and to check the weather?

Remote Shutter

This feature is only available on phones with MagicOS 6.0 and above.

1. Ensure your HONOR Band 9 is properly connected via Bluetooth and the HONOR Health app is running in the background.

2. On the app list on your band, go to Remote shutter to control your phone’s camera. If the camera on the phone is not turned on, please manually turn it on.

3. Tap the camera icon on the band to take photos. Tap Timer at the bottom of the screen to take time-lapse photos.

Check Weather

Ensure your band is connected via Bluetooth, your phone has a network connection, and location information access is enabled in the HONOR Health app.

Set Weather Notifications: In the HONOR Health app, go to the device details screen, go to Weather, enable Weather, and select a temperature unit.

Setting an Alarm on Your Band

1. On the app list, go to Alarm and tap the ‘+’ icon.

2. Set the time and repeat cycle, then tap OK.

Setting an Alarm on the App

1. In the HONOR Health app, go to the device details screen > Wearable alarm.

2. You can set a Smart alarm or add up to five Event alarms by tapping Add.

3. Set the time, label (for event alarms), and repeat cycle, then save.

When an alarm vibrates, you can tap the ‘X’ icon to stop it, or tap the snooze icon or swipe right to snooze for 10 minutes.

Flashlight

On the app list on your band, go to Flashlight. The screen will display a bright light. Tap the screen again to turn it off. Touch the screen icon to turn it on again. Swipe right to leave the flashlight screen.


How do I find my phone using the HONOR Band 9, or find my band using my phone?

Find Phone via Band

1. Ensure your phone and HONOR Band 9 are connected, the phone is on, and the HONOR Health app is enabled.

2. Swipe down the watch face to enter the shortcut menu and tap the find phone icon, or go to the app list on your band and select Find Phone.

3. Tap ‘Tap to play’. If your phone is within Bluetooth range, it will play media music to help you find it. Tap the screen of the band to stop the ringing.

Search for Band via Phone

1. Ensure your HONOR Band 9 is properly connected with the HONOR Health App.

2. On the device details screen in the HONOR Health app, tap Find Device. Your band will be found via a notification sound.


How do I change the strap on my HONOR Band 9?

Remove the strap:

Press the quick release buttons on both sides of the band body to separate the strap from the body.

Install the strap:

Align the strap with the band body and fasten it.

Change Watch Faces on the Band

Method 1: Touch and hold the watch face of the band to enter the selection interface. Swipe to select your favorite watch face.

How do I set a gallery watch face on my HONOR Band 9?

You can add images from your phone to create a gallery watch face, which displays a new image each time you light up the screen.

Adding Images to the Gallery Watch Face

1. On the device details screen in the HONOR Health app, go to Watch face market > Me > Gallery.

2. Tap the ‘+’ icon to select an upload method (take a picture or select from the gallery).

3. Select an image, adjust the display area, and tap Save. The watch face will automatically display this image.

Other Settings for Gallery Watch Face

On the gallery watch face settings screen in the app, you can:

Tap Style to set the font and color of the time and date.

Tap Location to set the display location of the time and date.

Tap Background and then the ‘X’ in the top-right corner of an image to delete it.


How do I set the Always On Display (AOD) on my HONOR Band 9?

The Always On Display (AOD) shows the time on the screen when the band is in standby mode.

1. On the app list on your band, go to Settings > Watch faces and cards > AOD.

2. Turn AOD on.

3. Tap Styles of AOD to set it.

4. Turn Scheduled on to set a start and end time for AOD.

Please note that AOD only supports pre-installed watch faces, will disable the “Raise to wake” feature, and will reduce battery life.


How do I adjust the screen display, brightness, and haptics on my HONOR Band 9?

Adjusting Screen Brightness

1. On the app list, go to Settings > Display & brightness > Brightness.

2. Select a brightness level (1 is darkest, 5 is brightest) and tap OK.

Setting the Sleep Time (Screen Timeout)

2. Select the sleep time and tap OK.

How do I enable Do Not Disturb and lock the screen on my HONOR Band 9?

Enabling Do Not Disturb

Swipe down on the watch face to enter the shortcut menu and tap the Do Not Disturb icon. Alternatively, on the app list, go to Settings > Do not disturb to enable it. When enabled, your band won’t vibrate for incoming calls and notifications, and Raise to wake will be disabled.

Locking and Unlocking the Screen (with PIN)

You can set a PIN to unlock your band after it automatically locks when not on your wrist.

Setting the PIN: On the app list, go to Settings > PIN > Enable PIN and follow the onscreen instructions.

Disabling the PIN: Go to Settings > PIN > Disable PIN and enter the current PIN.

Changing the PIN: Go to Settings > PIN > Change PIN and enter the current and new PINs.

Forgetting the PIN: If you forget your PIN, you must restore your band to factory settings, which will erase all settings and data.


How can I check device information and update the software on my HONOR Band 9?

Check Device Information

You can find various pieces of information about your HONOR Band 9:

Device name: On the band, go to Settings > About. Also visible on the device details screen in the HONOR Health app.

MAC address: On the band, go to Settings > About.

Serial number (SN): On the band, go to Settings > About.

Model: On the band, go to Settings > About. Also found as “MODEL/型号” in laser characters on the back of the band.

Version number: On the band, go to Settings > About. Or in the HONOR Health app, tap Firmware update to check.

Updating Your Version

1. On the device details screen in the HONOR Health app, go to Firmware update > Check for Updates.

2. Your phone will check for any available updates for your band. Follow the onscreen instructions to update.

To ensure a successful update, make sure your HONOR Band 9 has 20% or higher battery.
