To use full-screen navigation gestures on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2, first go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and make sure Gestures is selected. You can then perform the following actions:

Return to the previous screen: Swipe inward from the left or right edge of the screen.

Return to the home screen: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

Access multitasking screen: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and hold.

End a task: In the multitasking screen, swipe up on a task card to close it.

Switch apps: Swipe along the bottom edge of the screen. You may need to ensure “Slide across bottom to switch apps” is turned on in System navigation settings. You can also swipe in an arc along the bottom edge of the screen.

Knuckle gestures on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2 provide shortcuts for screenshots and screen recording. First, enable them by going to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures and enabling Take screenshot and/or Record screen.

Take a screenshot: Knock twice on the screen with one knuckle.

Take a scrolling screenshot (scrollshot): Knock on the screen with a knuckle and draw an “S”.

Capture part of the screen: Knock and draw an enclosed area with a knuckle.

Record screen: Knock twice on the screen with two knuckles to start or end a screen recording.

The physical buttons on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2 have the following functions:

Power off/Restart: Long press the power button until the Power off and Restart menus appear, then tap the corresponding option.

Volume up: Press the volume up button.

Volume down: Press the volume down button.

Screenshot: Press the volume down button and the power button simultaneously.

You can choose between two navigation modes on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2. Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation to select your preferred mode.

Gesture navigation:

• Return: Swipe inward from the left or right edge.

• Home: Swipe up from the bottom edge.

• Multitasking: Swipe up from the bottom edge and pause.

• Close a task: Swipe up on a task card in the multitasking interface.

Three-key navigation:

This mode provides a classic navigation bar with three virtual keys.

• Back key: Tap to return to the previous menu or exit the current app.

• Home key: Tap to return to the home screen.

• Recent tasks key: Tap to access the recent tasks screen.

You can tap Settings within the Three-key navigation menu to select a different navigation key combination.

Device Clone allows you to seamlessly move basic data like contacts, calendar, images, and videos from your old phone to your new HONOR X8A CRT-LX2.

Migrating from an Android Device:

1. On your new HONOR X8A CRT-LX2, open the Device Clone app (or go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone). Touch This is the new device, then touch Honor or Other Android.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow the prompts to connect the two devices by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Transfer to begin.

Migrating from an iPhone or iPad:

1. On your new HONOR X8A CRT-LX2, open the Device Clone app. Touch This is the new device, then touch iPhone/iPad.

2. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old iPhone or iPad, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow the prompts to connect the two devices.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone and follow the instructions to complete the transfer.

You can customize and manage your lock screen in several ways:

Set the Screen Timeout Period:

Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Sleep and select a screen timeout period.

Unlock the Screen:

• Password: Once the screen is on, swipe up from the middle of the screen and enter your lock screen password.

• Face Unlock: Turn on the screen and align it with your face. Your phone will unlock when your face is recognized.

• Fingerprint: Press an enrolled finger against the fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone.

Display a Signature on the Lock Screen:

Go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper, touch Lock screen signature, then type the text you want to display. To remove it, delete the text.

Launch Apps from the Lock Screen:

• Camera: Light up the screen, touch and hold the Camera icon at the lower right corner, and swipe up.

• Quick Operation Panel: Light up the screen and swipe up from the bottom edge to access apps like Flashlight, Calculator, and Timer.

Manage Service Cards:

• Add by swiping up on an app icon: Swipe up on an app icon that supports service cards to unfold the card, then tap the pin icon in the upper right corner to add it to your home screen.

• Add by editing the home screen: Pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter the edit screen. Tap Cards, select a card like Gallery or Weather, choose a style, and tap ADD TO HOME SCREEN.

• Remove a service card: Long press the service card and select Remove from the pop-up list.

Manage Big Folders:

• Create a big folder: Long press a standard folder and tap Enlarge.

• Use a big folder: Tap an app icon within the folder to open it directly. Tap the layers icon in the lower right corner of the folder to expand it and view more apps.

• Revert to a standard folder: Long press the big folder and tap Shrink.

Your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2 offers several methods for taking a screenshot:

Use Your Knuckle: First, ensure Knuckle screenshots are enabled in Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Take screenshot. Then, knock the screen twice in quick succession with one knuckle.

Use a Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons simultaneously.

Use the Shortcut Switch: Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, then tap the Screenshot shortcut icon.

Use Three Fingers: First, enable the feature in Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Take screenshot. Then, swipe down from the middle of the screen with three fingers.

Take a Partial Screenshot: Knock on the screen with a knuckle and hold to draw an outline around the part of the screen you want to capture.

After taking a screenshot, a thumbnail will appear in the lower-left corner. You can tap it to edit or share, or swipe down on it to take a scrolling screenshot.

You can record screen operations on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2 using one of the following methods:

Use a Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons simultaneously to start screen recording. Press and hold both buttons again to stop.

Use a Shortcut Switch: Swipe down from the status bar to show all shortcuts. Touch Screen Recorder to start. To stop, touch the timer at the top of the screen.

Use Two Knuckles: First, enable the feature in Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Record screen. Then, knock the screen twice in quick succession with two knuckles to start. Knock twice again to stop.

To record your voice during the screen recording, tap the microphone icon after starting the recording to enable it. The recording will be saved to your Gallery.

Adjust Volume: Press the Volume up or down button.

Mute When Ringing: When your phone rings for a call or alarm, press the Power button to mute it.

Change Ringtone and Vibration:

1. Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration and tap Phone ringtone or Notification tone.

2. Select a system ringtone, or tap Music on device to choose a local song.

3. Tap Vibration to select the desired vibration mode.

Toggle Modes with Shortcuts: Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel. Tap the Sound, Silent, or Vibration icon to toggle between modes.

Flip to Mute: To mute an incoming call by flipping your phone, go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Mute ringtone/Reduce volume and ensure Flip to mute ringtone is on.

Set Default Volume: Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration to set the default volume for Ringer, Alarms, Music, and Calls.

Enable Split-Screen Mode:

1. Open an app, then swipe inward from the left or right edge and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

2. Drag an app icon out of the Multi-Window dock to enter split-screen mode.

Use Floating Windows:

1. Swipe inward from the left or right edge and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

2. Tap an app icon in the dock to open it in a floating window.

• Relocate: Drag the bar at the top of the window.

• Resize: Drag any corner of the window.

• Display in full screen: Swipe down from the note bar at the bottom of the window or tap the full screen icon at the top.

• Minimize: Drag the window to the side of the screen or tap the minimize icon to shrink it into a floating bubble.

• Close: Swipe up from the note bar at the bottom of the window or tap the close icon.

Drag and Drop Between Apps: Use the Multi-Window feature to drag images, text, and documents between two open apps (e.g., from Files to Notepad).

You can check the battery level from the battery icon on your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2’s screen. The icons indicate the following states:

Connecting your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2 to a Windows PC via Phone Link lets you manage notifications, photos, calls, and more on your computer.

1. On your phone, swipe down from the status bar and tap Link to Windows, or go to Settings > More connections > Link to Windows.

2. For the first-time setup, tap Link your phone and PC on your phone. On your Windows PC browser, visit the URL provided (www.aka.ms/phonelinkQRC) and follow the prompts to open the QR code.

3. Scan the QR code on the PC screen with your phone to log in and connect. Follow the on-screen prompts to set permissions.

4. For future connections, simply enable Link to Windows on your phone.

Once connected, you can use the Phone Link app on your PC to manage text messages, make and receive calls, access phone photos, and even run phone apps in a window on your PC.

HONOR Share is a wireless sharing technology for quickly transferring files like images, videos, and documents between devices without using mobile data. To enable or disable it, swipe down from the status bar to show all shortcuts and tap HONOR Share, or go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share.

Share Files Between Phones:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On your sending HONOR X8A CRT-LX2, tap and hold to select a file or album, then tap the share icon. Tap HONOR Share and then tap the name of the receiving device.

3. On the receiving device, tap ACCEPT to receive the file.

Share Files Between Your Phone and a Computer:

1. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on the PC.

2. On your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2, enable HONOR Share.

3. On your PC, turn on PC Manager > HONOR Share and ensure Allow discovery by other devices is enabled.

4. To send from phone to PC: Long press the file on your phone, tap share, select HONOR Share, and tap the PC’s name.

5. To send from PC to phone: Right-click the file on your PC, select Display more options > HONOR Share, and select your phone to receive the file.

Portrait Mode:

1. Open Camera and select PORTRAIT mode.

2. Point the camera at your subject. You can tap the beauty icon to adjust the beauty effect.

3. Tap the shutter button to take a photo with a blurred background effect.

Night Mode:

1. Open Camera and select Night mode for sharper details and brighter colors in low light.

2. Steady your phone and touch the shutter button.

3. Your phone will adjust the exposure time. Keep the phone steady until the countdown finishes.

Wide Aperture Mode:

1. Open Camera and select APERTURE mode to shoot photos where the background is blurred while the subject remains in sharp focus.

2. Touch where you want to focus (for best results, be within 2m of your subject).

3. Touch the aperture icon in the viewfinder and drag the slider to adjust the blur effect. A smaller value creates a more blurred background.

4. Touch the shutter button to take the photo.

Pro mode gives you full control over camera settings for fine-tuning your photos. To use it, open Camera and go to MORE > PRO mode. You can then adjust the following parameters:

• Metering method (M): Tap to select how the camera measures light. Center-focused is good for portraits, while Point metering focuses on a very small area.

• ISO sensitivity (ISO): Adjusts the camera’s sensitivity to light. Increase for low light, decrease for bright light.

• Shutter speed (S): Affects the amount of light entering the camera. Use a slower speed for still landscapes and a faster speed for moving subjects.

• Exposure compensation (EV): Fine-tune the brightness of the image.

• Focus mode (AF): Select AF-S (Single) for still subjects or AF-C (Continuous) for moving subjects. MF (Manual Focus) lets you tap to focus.

• White balance (WB): Adjust the color tone for different lighting conditions like daylight or cloudy.

The available focus modes are:

Slow-Mo Recording:

1. Go to Camera > MORE and select Slow-mo mode.

2. Touch the speed icon and select 4x or 8x speed.

3. Touch the record button to start and stop recording. For best results, shoot in bright, natural lighting.

Time-Lapse Photography:

1. Go to Camera > MORE and select TIME-LAPSE mode.

2. Place your phone in a steady position, using a tripod to reduce shake.

3. Touch the record button to start recording, and touch it again to end.

Dual-View Mode:

1. Go to Camera > MORE and select Dual-view mode to capture two perspectives at once.

2. By default, it uses the front and rear cameras in split-screen. You can pinch to zoom the rear camera view or tap the screen twice to swap positions. You can also switch to Picture in Picture mode.

3. You can also switch to using only the rear cameras for a panoramic and a close-up view simultaneously.

4. Touch the record button to start and stop recording.

Editing Photos:

1. Open Gallery, tap the thumbnail of the photo you want to edit, then touch the edit icon.

2. Use the editing features:

• Crop: Select a frame and drag the grid or corners.

• Filter: Apply a filter effect.

• Adjust: Change brightness, contrast, saturation, and other aspects.

• More: Access features like adding a color splash, blur, doodle, or label.

3. Touch the save icon when you are finished.

Editing Videos:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums and touch the video you want to edit.

2. Touch the edit icon to open the video editing screen.

• Template: Select a preset theme.

• Edit: Trim the video, add transitions between cuts, sort clips, or change the frame.

• Music: Add background music from presets or local files, or extract audio from another video.

• Filters: Apply a filter and adjust its effect.

• Text: Add and edit intro and outro text.

3. When you are finished, touch the preview icon and then the save icon to export the video.

Add Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums.

2. Touch the plus icon, name the album, then touch OK.

3. Select the photos or videos you want to add, then move or copy them to the new album.

Sort Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums, tap the three-dot menu, and touch Sort albums.

2. Drag the icon next to an album to move it to the desired position.

Move Photos and Videos:

1. Open an album, then touch and hold to select the items you want to move.

2. Touch the three-dot menu > Move to select the destination album.

Delete Photos and Videos:

Touch and hold to select the items you want to delete, then go to Delete > Delete. Deleted items are moved to the Recently deleted album temporarily.

Recover Deleted Photos and Videos:

In the Recently deleted album, touch and hold to select items, then touch the restore icon.

Hide Albums:

In the Albums tab, select an album, then long press to select the pictures or videos you want to hide. Tap the three-dot menu > Hide > OK. To view hidden items, go to the Albums tab, tap the three-dot menu > Hidden items.

Use VoLTE for HD Video Calls:

Contact your carrier to activate VoLTE service. Once enabled on both your and the other party’s device, you can open Phone, select a contact, and tap the video call icon to make an HD video call.

Enable Call Waiting:

Go to Phone, tap the three-dot menu > Settings, and then go to More > Call waiting to enable it. This allows you to answer an incoming call while another call is in progress by placing the first call on hold.

Enable Call Forwarding:

Go to Phone > three-dot menu > Settings, and touch Call forwarding. Select a forwarding method, then enter and confirm the target number.

Filter and Block Spam Calls:

1. Go to Phone > three-dot menu > Blocked. Alternatively, go to System Manager > Blocked.

2. Touch Call block rules and toggle on the switches for the types of calls you want to block.

To block specific numbers, go to the Blocked screen, tap Blocklist, and add the phone numbers you want to block.

Set Up Emergency SOS:

1. Go to Settings > Safety & emergency > Emergency SOS.

2. Touch Emergency contacts to add an emergency contact.

3. Enable Also send SOS message and Auto-SOS call, and set related permissions as prompted.

Use Emergency SOS:

In an emergency situation, press the Power button five times in quick succession. Your HONOR X8A CRT-LX2 will automatically send a message with your current location to your emergency contacts. It will then automatically call your emergency contacts one by one and play a pre-recorded SOS message before ending the call.

Make Emergency Calls from the Lock Screen:

From the lock screen, access the screen for entering your password and touch EMERGENCY CALL. Enter your local emergency number and touch the call button. Alternatively, touch EMERGENCY INFORMATION and select an emergency contact to call.

Create a Note:

Go to Notepad > Notes and touch the plus icon. You can then:

• Touch the checklist icon to add a checklist.

• Touch the text format icon to change text style, alignment, and background.

• Touch the image icon to insert a picture.

• Touch the tag icon to add a tag for easy organization.

Add a Handwritten Note:

Go to Notepad > Notes, touch the plus icon, then touch the pen icon to write or draw.

Create To-dos:

Go to Notepad > To-dos and touch the plus icon. Enter your to-do item, touch the clock icon to set a time reminder, and enable the exclamation mark to mark it as important.

Share and Manage Notes:

Open a note or to-do item, touch the share icon, and share it as an image, text, or document. To sort items, swipe left on an item on the All notes screen to move it to a different notebook or add a star.

Clean Up Phone Storage:

1. Open System Manager, then touch Cleanup.

2. The app will scan for redundant files like app residue and unwanted installation packages. When the scan is complete, touch CLEAN UP after each item to delete files you don’t need.

3. On the Cleanup screen, you can also touch Duplicate files to find and delete them.

Manage Data Usage:

1. Open System Manager, then touch Data usage to view and manage network access.

2. On the Data usage screen, you can view Data usage this month to see how much data your apps are using.

3. Touch Network access to control which apps can use Mobile Data.

4. Touch Smart Data Saver to prevent apps from using mobile data in the background.

5. Go to More data settings > Monthly data limit to add a data plan and set usage reminders.

App Twin allows you to log in to two different accounts for the same app (like WhatsApp or Facebook) simultaneously. This feature is only supported by some apps.

To enable it, go to Settings > Apps > App Twin, and enable the switch for the app you want to duplicate. The twin app will then be displayed on the home screen.

Adjust Brightness and Color:

Go to Settings > Display & brightness. Here you can manually adjust the brightness slider or enable Automatic brightness. You can also go to Colour mode & temperature to switch between Normal and Vivid color modes and adjust the color temperature.

Use Eye Comfort Mode:

This mode reduces harmful blue light. Enable it by swiping down the notification panel and tapping the Eye Comfort shortcut, or by going to Settings > Display & brightness > Eye Comfort. You can enable it for all day or set a schedule.

Enable Dark Mode:

This mode softens screen brightness. Enable it via the shortcut in the notification panel or by going to Settings > Display & brightness and tapping Dark. You can also set a schedule for Dark mode to turn on and off automatically (e.g., from sunset to sunrise).

Enroll a Fingerprint:

1. Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Fingerprint ID and enter your lock screen password.

2. Touch New fingerprint to begin.

3. Place your fingertip on the fingerprint sensor. When you feel a vibration, lift your finger and then press again. Move your finger around to enroll different parts of it.

4. When enrollment is complete, touch OK. You can then use your fingerprint to unlock the screen, access your Safe, or access locked apps.

Enroll Facial Data:

1. Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Face Recognition, and enter your lock screen password.

2. Select options like Enable raise to wake if you wish.

3. Touch GET STARTED and follow the on-screen instructions to enroll your facial data.

After setup, you can enable Unlock device or Access App Lock on the Face Recognition screen.

Enable Power Saving Mode:

To extend battery life, go to Settings > Battery (or System Manager > Battery icon), and enable Power Saving mode. This will disable some functions, restrict background apps, and weaken visual effects. It is recommended when your battery level is 20% or lower.

Enable Performance Mode:

For maximum performance, go to Settings > Battery and enable Performance mode. This will cause the battery to drain more quickly and is suitable for graphic-intensive apps.

Enable Smart Charge and Smart Battery Capacity:

Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings. Enable Smart Charge to intelligently manage the charging process based on your habits (e.g., pausing overnight charging) and prolong battery life. Enable Smart Battery Capacity to intelligently adjust the maximum available capacity based on the battery’s current state to slow down wear.

Use Password Vault:

Password Vault saves your app usernames and passwords and automatically fills them in when you log in. The data is stored with hardware encryption on your device.

• Enable: Go to Settings > Security > Password Vault. You will be prompted to set a lock screen password if you haven’t already. By default, it will be enabled to automatically save and fill in credentials.

• View or Delete Data: Go to Settings > Security > Password Vault > ACCOUNTS to view or delete stored usernames and passwords.

Use App Lock:

App Lock protects apps containing private data from unauthorized access.

• Enable: Go to Settings > Security > App Lock > ENABLE. Follow the on-screen instructions to set the App Lock password and select the apps to lock.

• Change Password: On the App Lock settings screen, go to the settings icon > Password type to change the password.

• Disable: On the App Lock settings screen, toggle off the switches for the apps you want to unlock.

Operate Your Phone with One Hand (One-Handed mode):

1. First, go to Settings > Accessibility features > One-Handed mode, and enable One-Handed mode.

2. To activate the mini-screen view, use one of the following methods depending on your navigation settings:

• If using Gestures, slide across the bottom of the screen and hold.

• If using Three-key navigation, slide across the bottom of the screen.

3. Touch any area outside the mini-screen view to exit.

Set Scheduled Power On/Off:

1. Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Scheduled power on/off, and enable Scheduled power on/off.

2. Set the power on and off times, as well as the repeat cycle. Your phone will then power on and off automatically at the specified times.

Back Up Data to an External USB Storage Device:

1. Connect your phone to a USB storage device (like a flash drive or card reader) with a USB OTG cable.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Tap BACK UP, check the data you want to back up, and tap Back up.

4. For the first backup, follow the on-screen instructions to set a password and password hint.

Recover Backup Data from a USB Storage Device:

1. Connect the phone to the USB storage device with the backup.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Select the appropriate backup record from the RESTORE FROM BACKUP list.

4. Select the data you need to recover, tap Restore, enter the password if prompted, and recover the data.

Reset Network Settings:

This will reset your Wi-Fi, mobile data network, and Bluetooth settings without deleting any other data. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset network settings, and follow the instructions.

Restore All Settings:

This resets all network settings, your lock screen password, and the home screen layout. It will also delete enrolled fingerprint and facial data but will not delete other data or files. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset all settings, and follow the instructions.

Restore Factory Settings (Factory Reset):

This operation will erase all data on your phone, including your accounts, app data, system settings, installed apps, music, images, and all files in the internal storage. Make sure to back up your data before performing this action. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset phone, touch Reset phone, and follow the on-screen instructions.
