Your HONOR X6c offers several navigation methods. You can choose the one that best suits your habits.

Use the Navigation Dock:

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation, and enable Navigation Dock.

2. Once the dock button appears, you can:

– Drag the button to your desired position.

– Touch the button to go back.

– Touch and hold the button, then release it to go back to the home screen.

– Touch and hold the button, then swipe left or right to view recent tasks.

Use Gestures:

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and select Gestures.

2. You can then use the following gestures:

– Return to the parent menu: Swipe inward from the left or right edge of the screen.

– Return to the home screen: Swipe up from the middle of the bottom edge of the screen.

– Access multitasking: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and pause.

– Close a task: In the multitasking interface, swipe up on a task card. Swipe down on a card to lock it.

Use Three-key Navigation:

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and select Three keys.

2. After enabling, you can:

– Tap the back key to go to the previous page or quit an app.

– Tap the home key to return to the home screen.

– Tap the recent tasks key to enter the “Recent tasks” page.

3. You can also choose a combination of different navigation keys.

You can use the Device Clone feature to quickly and seamlessly move basic data like contacts, calendar, images, and videos from your old phone to your new HONOR X6c.

1. On your new HONOR X6c, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch This is the new device, then select the old device type.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your old device with your new HONOR X6c by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Next > Transfer to start cloning.

Note: Device Clone is available on phones running Android 7.0 or later, and iOS 8.0 or later.

You can lock and unlock the screen of your HONOR X6c in several ways.

Locking the Screen:

– Press the Power button.

– Add the Screen Lock tool to your home screen. To do this, pinch two fingers on the home screen, tap Cards, go to Classic widgets > Widgets, and add Screen Lock.

Turning the Screen On:

– Press the Power button.

– Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Screen On/Off, and enable Raise to wake or Double-tap to wake.

Unlocking the Screen:

– With Password: Once the screen is on, swipe up from the middle of the screen to display the password input panel and enter your lock screen password.

– With Face Unlock: Turn on the screen and align it with your face. Your phone will unlock once your face is recognized.

– With Fingerprint: Press an enrolled finger against the fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone.

To manage data usage on your HONOR X6c, open System Manager and touch Data usage. From here, you can perform several actions:

View and Manage High Data-consuming Apps:

1. In the “Data usage this month” interface, you can see the ranking of data used by each app.

2. Tap a high data-consuming app to restrict its use of mobile data, roaming data, etc.

Set Internet Access for Apps:

– In the “Data usage management” interface, tap Network access and uncheck Mobile data for certain apps (e.g., video players) to restrict them to Wi-Fi only.

Enable Smart Data Saver:

This feature prevents apps from using mobile data in the background.

1. On the Data usage screen, touch Smart Data Saver and enable it.

2. If you want to allow unrestricted access for some apps, toggle on the switches for those apps.

Add Mobile Data Usage Reminders:

1. On the Data usage page, tap More data settings > Monthly data limit, and follow the on-screen instructions.

2. On the More data settings page, tap Usage reminders to set reminders or have internet access cut off when the limit is exceeded.

3. You can also enable Lock screen data usage reminder.

You can share your HONOR X6c’s mobile data or Wi-Fi network connection using several methods.

Via Personal Hotspot:

1. Go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot, and enable Personal hotspot.

2. You can also set the Device name, Password, and touch Connected devices to manage connections. If sharing mobile data, you can touch More to set a Data limit and AP band.

Via Bluetooth:

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, enable it, and pair with the other device.

2. Go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable Bluetooth tethering.

3. On the paired device’s Bluetooth settings, enable Internet access for your HONOR X6c.

Via USB:

1. Connect your HONOR X6c to a computer using a USB cable.

2. On your phone, go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable USB tethering.

Use VoLTE for HD Video Calls:

VoLTE (Voice over LTE) provides faster call connection times and high-quality voice and video calls.

1. Enable VoLTE: Contact your carrier to activate the VoLTE service for your SIM card. If your phone supports it, enabling 5G will enable VoLTE by default.

2. Make a Video Call: Open Phone, go to the Contacts tab, select a contact, and touch the video call icon. This is only possible if both parties have VoLTE-activated devices.

Manage SIM Cards:

– Enable or Disable a SIM Card: Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management, and toggle the switch for the SIM you want to enable or disable. A disabled SIM cannot be used for calls, messaging, or internet access.

– Name Your SIM Card: In the SIM management screen, you can touch the edit icon or select a SIM and tap Card name to give it a custom name like “Work” or “Personal” for easier identification.

If your HONOR X6c has two SIM cards inserted, you can configure several settings for them.

Set Default SIMs:

– Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management and set SIM 1 or SIM 2 as the default for mobile data or calls.

Enable Call Forwarding Between SIMs:

This feature forwards calls from one SIM to the other if the first one is unreachable. This requires carrier support.

1. Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management > Call forwarding between SIMs.

2. Select a call forwarding mode and turn on the corresponding switch.

Quickly Switch Default Mobile Data SIM:

1. Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center. Turn on SIM data.

2. Touch the text under the icon until a prompt is displayed, then select a SIM card and touch OK.

Connecting to a Wi-Fi network is an effective way to save mobile data. Here’s how you can connect your HONOR X6c:

Connect Manually:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.

2. Tap a Wi-Fi network under AVAILABLE NETWORKS. If it’s an encrypted network, you will need to enter the password.

3. Alternatively, scroll to the bottom of the menu, tap Add network, and follow the prompts to enter the network name and password.

Connect via Scanning a QR Code:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.

2. On the phone that is already sharing the network, go to its Wi-Fi settings, tap the connected network, and get the QR code.

3. On your HONOR X6c, scan the QR code and follow the prompts to connect.

You can customize the home screen of your HONOR X6c for a more efficient experience.

Service Cards:

– Add a card: Pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter the edit screen, tap Cards, select an app like Gallery or Weather, choose a style, and tap ADD TO HOME SCREEN. You can also swipe up on a supported app icon and tap the pin icon.

– Edit a card: Long press a card (e.g., Notes) and select Edit Card from the pop-up list.

– Stack cards: Drag a card onto another of the same size to create a stack. Swipe up or down on the stack to switch between cards.

– Remove a card: Long press the card and select Remove.

Big Folders:

– Switch to Large Folder: Press and hold a small folder and tap Enlarge.

– Open an App: Tap an app icon directly within the large folder to open it.

– Manage Apps: Open the large folder and tap the plus icon to add or remove apps.

– Switch to Small Folder: Long press the large folder and tap Shrink.

Personalize Folder Icon Sizes:

– Long press a folder icon to enter edit mode, then drag any corner of the icon to change its size and shape.

The status icons on your HONOR X6c provide information about its current status. Note that icons may vary by region, service provider, and product.

Power On:

– Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until your HONOR X6c vibrates and displays the logo.

Power Off:

– Press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons simultaneously, then touch Power off and Touch to power off.

Restart:

– Press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons simultaneously, then touch Restart and Touch to restart.

Forcefully Restart:

– If your phone is not working or turning off normally, press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons for more than 10 seconds to force a restart.

You can check the battery level from the battery icon on your HONOR X6c’s screen. The icons indicate the following levels:

HONOR Share is a wireless sharing technology for quickly transferring files between devices.

Enable/Disable HONOR Share:

– Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center, then turn HONOR Share on or off. You can also touch and hold the icon to access its settings.

– Go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share to enable or disable it.

Share Files Between Phones:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On your HONOR X6c (the sending device), touch and hold to select a file or album, then tap the share icon.

3. Tap HONOR Share, then tap the name of the receiving device to send the file.

4. On the receiving device, tap ACCEPT. The received files can be found in Files > Phone > HONOR Share.

Share Files Between Your Phone and PC:

1. From Phone to PC:

– Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

– Turn on HONOR Share on your HONOR X6c.

– On the PC, turn on HONOR PC Manager > HONOR Share and confirm discovery is allowed.

– Long press the file on your phone, tap share, select HONOR Share, and tap the PC’s name.

2. From PC to Phone:

– Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

– Turn on HONOR Share on your phone.

– On the PC, right-click the file, select Display more options > HONOR Share, and select your phone to receive the file.

Your HONOR X6c camera offers various modes for different shooting scenarios.

Panoramic Photos:

1. Go to Camera > MORE and select Panorama mode.

2. Touch the direction icon to set the pan direction.

3. Point the camera at your starting point and touch the shutter button. Move the camera in the direction of the on-screen arrow, keeping the arrow on the center line.

Portrait Mode:

1. Go to Camera and select PORTRAIT mode.

2. Focus on a person. You can tap the beauty icon to adjust the beauty effect.

3. Tap the shutter button to shoot.

Night Shots:

1. Open Camera and select Night mode.

2. Steady your phone and touch the shutter button.

3. Your phone will adjust the exposure time. Keep the phone steady until the countdown finishes.

Burst Photos:

1. Open Camera, select PHOTO mode, and ensure the rear camera is in use.

2. Touch and hold the shutter button or press and hold a Volume button to take a sequence of photos.

3. Lift your finger to stop shooting. You can then go to Gallery to select the best shots from the burst.

HDR Photos:

1. Go to Camera and select PHOTO mode.

2. Touch the settings icon and select HDR.

3. Steady your phone and touch the shutter button to take a photo with improved light and shadow effects.

Pro mode on your HONOR X6c gives you full control over camera settings for fine-tuned photos and videos.

1. Open Camera and select PRO mode.

2. You can then adjust the following parameters:

– Metering method (M): Choose how the camera measures light.

– ISO sensitivity (ISO): Increase for low light, decrease for bright light to avoid noise.

– Shutter speed (S): Use a lower speed for still landscapes and a higher speed for moving subjects.

– Exposure compensation (EV): Adjust higher for low light and lower for bright light.

– Focus (AF): Select a focus mode.

– White Balance (WB): Adjust the color tone for different lighting conditions (e.g., daylight, cloudy) or change the color temperature manually.

3. After setting your parameters, tap the shutter to shoot.

Shooting Videos:

1. Open Camera and select VIDEO mode.

2. Before recording, you can:

– Zoom in or out by pinching the screen or using the zoom bar.

– Tap the screen to focus. Touch and hold to lock exposure and focus.

– Adjust video resolution and frame rate in the settings.

– Turn on the beauty effect.

3. Tap the record button to start. Tap it again to stop.

Editing Videos:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums and touch the video you want to edit.

2. Tap the edit icon to display the video editing screen, where you can:

– Select a theme: Touch Template to apply a preset theme.

– Trim clips: Touch Edit and drag the sliders to trim the video.

– Add a filter: Tap Filters and select an effect.

– Add music: Touch Music to add background music from presets or your local files. You can also extract audio from another video.

– Add text and effects: Use the Text and Effect options.

3. When finished, touch the export icon to save the video.

You can organize your media files into albums for easier management.

Add Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums.

2. Touch the plus icon, name the album, then touch OK.

3. Select the photos or videos you want to add, and then move or copy them to the new album.

Custom Album Cover:

1. Go to the album you want to customize.

2. Touch the three-dot menu > Custom cover.

3. Select the image you want to set as the cover.

Sort Albums:

1. On the Albums tab, go to the three-dot menu and touch Sort albums.

2. Long press and drag the handle next to an album to move it to the desired position.

Hide Albums:

1. On the Albums page, open an album.

2. Touch and hold the pictures or videos you want to hide.

3. Tap the three-dot menu > Hide > OK.

4. To view hidden items, go to the Albums page, tap the three-dot menu > Hidden items.

Move Photos and Videos:

1. Open an album, then touch and hold to select the photos and videos you want to move.

2. Touch the three-dot menu > Move to select the desired album.

HONOR Magic Portal

Magic Portal intelligently recommends services based on on-screen content.

– Enable: Go to Settings > HONOR AI > Magic Portal, and enable the switch.

– How to use:

– Knuckle Circle: Use a single knuckle to tap and draw a circle around content (like text or an image). Magic Portal will open with recommended services (e.g., shopping apps for a product, social apps to share).

– Long Press and Drag: Select text or long press an image on the screen, then drag it to the left or right edge to open Magic Portal. Release your finger to be taken to the desired service.

Magic Capsule

The Magic Capsule appears at the top of the screen to present ongoing tasks, allowing you to view real-time status and perform quick operations.

– Trigger: Start a real-time task, such as recording in Recorder or starting a timer in Clock, and then return to the home screen.

– Interact: The Capsule will appear as a “little ball” or an expanded capsule. Tap it to expand and check detailed status or perform quick operations.

Screen Recording:

1. Use a Shortcut: Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center and touch Screen Recorder to start.

2. Use Knuckles: Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Record screen and ensure it’s enabled. Then, knock the screen twice in quick succession with two knuckles to start and stop recording.

3. To Stop: Touch the timer at the top of the screen or knock twice again with two knuckles. The recording will be saved to Gallery.

Taking a Screenshot:

– Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons simultaneously.

– Shortcut Button: Swipe down from the top right to open the Control Center and tap the Screenshot icon.

– Knuckle Screenshot: Ensure it’s enabled in Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Screenshot/Global Favourites. Then, knock the screen twice in quick succession with one knuckle.

– Three-Finger Swipe: Ensure it’s enabled in the same settings menu. Then, swipe down from the middle of the screen with three fingers.

– Partial Screenshot: Knock on the screen with a knuckle and hold to draw an outline around the part of the screen you want to capture.

– Scrolling Screenshot: After taking a screenshot, a thumbnail appears in the lower-left corner. Swipe down on the thumbnail to start a scrolling screenshot.

Multi-Window allows you to use apps in floating windows or split-screen mode for easier multitasking. First, ensure the Multi-Window dock is turned on in Settings > Accessibility features > Multi-Window.

Floating Window:

1. Open: Swipe inwards from either side of the screen and hold to open the Multi-Window dock. Tap an app to open it in a floating window.

2. Adjust: Slide the bottom two corners to resize. Drag the bar at the top to move it.

3. Minimize: Drag the top bar to the side of the screen to minimize it to an assistive ball.

4. Close: Swipe up from the bottom of the floating window to close it.

Split-Screen Mode:

1. Activate: While an app is in full-screen, swipe up from the bottom edge to the corner position and release. The app will minimize, and you can tap another app to open it in split-screen.

2. Activate via Dock: Swipe in from the edge to show the Multi-Window dock. Press and drag an app icon onto the screen to enter split-screen mode.

3. Manage: You can drag the divider to adjust the window size or tap it to switch positions or save the app pair to the home screen. Slide the divider to the top or bottom edge to exit.

Drag and Drop Between Apps:

With Multi-Window, you can drag and drop images, text, and documents between supported apps. For example, you can drag a photo from Files into a Notes editor.

You can manage contacts on your HONOR X6c through the Contacts or Phone app.

Create, Edit, and Delete Contact Groups:

1. Open Contacts and select the Groups tab.

2. To create, tap New, enter a group name, and tap OK. Then tap Add members to add contacts.

3. To edit, select a group. You can add or remove members, rename the group, or set a group ringtone.

4. To delete, long press the group and tap Delete.

Manually Manage Contacts:

– Create: On the Contacts screen, tap the plus icon, enter the contact’s information, and tap save.

– Merge Duplicates: Go to the three-dot menu > Settings > Organize contacts > Merge duplicate contacts.

– Search: Use the search box at the top of the Contacts list.

– Share: Long press a contact (or multiple contacts) and tap Share contact.

– Delete: Long press a contact to delete. For bulk deletion, go to the three-dot menu > Settings > Organize contacts > Delete multiple contacts.

– Restore Deleted Contacts: Go to Settings > Organize contacts > Recently deleted, long press to select contacts, and tap Restore.

The Calendar app helps you schedule and manage your daily activities.

Add Schedules:

1. Go to Calendar, then tap the plus icon.

2. Enter details such as title, location, start and end time.

3. Tap Add reminder to set a reminder for the schedule.

4. Tap the checkmark to save the schedule.

Create a To-Do List:

1. Go to Calendar > To-dos and select the plus icon.

2. Enter your task. You can set a reminder time, priority level, and category.

3. Tap the checkmark to save.

View National/Regional Holidays:

1. Go to Calendar > menu > Settings > National/Regional holidays.

2. Turn on the switch for a country/region to download and display its holiday information.

Customize Calendar View:

– In Calendar > menu > Settings, you can select the start day of the week or choose to show week numbers.

Your HONOR X6c provides several features to protect your data and privacy.

Face Recognition:

– Enroll: Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Face Recognition, and follow the instructions to enroll your facial data.

– Enable Unlock: On the Face Recognition screen, touch Unlock device to enable face unlock.

Fingerprint ID:

– Enroll: Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Fingerprint ID, and follow the instructions to enroll a fingerprint.

– Use: You can use your fingerprint to unlock the screen, access your Safe, or access locked apps.

App Lock:

1. Go to Settings > Security & privacy > Device & data protection > App Lock > ENABLE.

2. Follow the instructions to set the App Lock password and select the apps to lock.

3. You can link App Lock with your face or fingerprint ID for easier access.

Safe Mode:

– Enter: Press and hold the Power and Volume Up keys simultaneously as your device powers on. Use the volume keys to navigate to Safe mode and the Power key to select it. This helps diagnose issues caused by third-party apps.

– Exit: Simply restart your phone.

Location Services:

– Go to Settings > Location to enable or disable location services. You can also manage which apps have permission to access your location by going to Settings > Apps > Permission manager > Location.

You can manage power consumption to extend the battery life of your HONOR X6c.

Power Saving Modes:

– Power Saving mode: Go to Settings > Battery and enable Power Saving mode. This is recommended when the battery is below 20%. It restricts background apps and weakens visual effects.

– Ultra Power Saving mode: In the same menu, enable Ultra Power Saving mode for times when you need to extend standby time significantly. This disables most features, retaining only basic functions like calls and messages.

Performance Mode:

– For maximum performance, go to Settings > Battery and enable Performance mode. Note that this will cause the battery to drain more quickly.

Battery Optimization:

– Go to Settings > Battery > Battery optimization. The system will provide power-saving recommendations based on your usage habits. You can tap OPTIMIZE to apply them.

Smart Charging Features:

– Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings to find these options:

– Smart Charge: Learns your charging habits (e.g., overnight charging) to pause charging at a certain level and resume before you wake up, reducing battery wear.

– Smart Battery Capacity: Intelligently adjusts the maximum available battery capacity to slow down battery wear and prolong its lifespan.

You have different options for resetting your HONOR X6c, depending on what you want to achieve.

Reset Network Settings:

This will reset your Wi-Fi, mobile data network, and Bluetooth settings without deleting any other data.

– Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset network settings, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Reset All Settings:

This will restore network settings, lock screen passwords, and home screen layout. It will not delete your data or files.

– Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, tap Reset all settings, and follow the prompt.

Restore Factory Settings (Factory Reset):

This operation will erase all data on your phone, including accounts, app data, system settings, installed apps, music, images, and all files in the internal storage. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding.

– Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset phone, touch Reset phone, and follow the onscreen instructions.

You can update your HONOR X6c’s system online when an update is available.

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > Software update, and touch Check for updates.

2. When an update is available, you have two options:

– Manually Download and Install: Go to New version > DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL. It is recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi network to avoid data usage. Your phone will automatically restart once the update is complete.

– Update Overnight: Touch the settings icon and enable Auto-download over Wi-Fi and Update overnight. Your phone will automatically update and restart between 02:00 – 04:00. For this to work, ensure your phone is powered on, the screen is locked, no alarms are set for this period, and the battery is above 35% (or connected to a charger).

To disable automatic updates, go to the Software update screen, touch the settings icon, and disable Auto-download over Wi-Fi.
