You can change the navigation method on your HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09 by choosing between Gestures, Three-key Navigation, or the Navigation Dock.

2. After the Navigation dock button appears, you can:

– Drag the button to your desired position.

– Touch the button to go back.

– Touch and hold the button, then release it to go back to the home screen.

– Touch and hold the button, then swipe left or right to view recent tasks.

You can use the Device Clone feature to move basic data like contacts, calendar, images, and videos from your old Android, iPhone, or iPad to your new HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09.

Migrate Data from an Android Device:

1. On your new HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch This is the new device, then select HONOR devices or Other Android devices.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your old device with your new tablet by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Transfer to start cloning.

Note: Device Clone is available on tablets running Android 7.0 or later.

Migrate Data from an iPhone or iPad:

1. On your new HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch This is the new device, then touch Apple devices.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch This is the old device. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your old device with your new tablet by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the data cloning.

Note: Device Clone is available on tablets running iOS 8.0 or later.

You can manage how your screen locks, what is displayed on it, and how you unlock it on your HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09.

Lock and Unlock Your Screen:

– The screen will lock automatically after a period of inactivity.

– Manually lock the screen by pressing the power button.

– Use the Screen Lock tool: Pinch two fingers on the home screen, tap Cards > Classic widgets, and add the Screen Lock tool to your home screen.

– To unlock, turn on the screen, swipe up from the middle, and enter your lock screen password.

Set the Screen Timeout Period:

Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Sleep and select a screen timeout period.

Display Your Signature on the Lock Screen:

Go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper, touch Lock screen signature, then type the text you want to display. To remove it, delete the text.

Launch apps from the lock screen:

– For the Camera: Light up the screen, touch and hold the Camera icon at the lower right corner, and swipe up.

– Set Password.

– Touch Connected devices to view and manage connected devices.

– If sharing mobile data, touch More to set a Data limit and AP band.

Note: Some Wi-Fi networks that require authentication cannot be shared.

Share Your Network via Bluetooth:

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, enable Bluetooth, and pair with the other device.

2. Go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable Bluetooth tethering.

3. On the paired device’s Bluetooth settings screen, tap the settings icon next to your tablet’s name and enable Internet connection sharing.

Share Your Network via USB:

1. Connect your tablet to a computer using a USB cable.

2. On your tablet, go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable USB tethering.

You can enable or disable Airplane mode using one of the following methods:

– Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center. Tap the Airplane icon to enable or disable Airplane mode.

– Go to Settings > Mobile network and toggle the switch for Airplane mode on or off.

When you turn on Airplane mode for the first time, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will be turned off automatically. If allowed by the airline, you can manually turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth back on, and your tablet will remember this setting for the next time you enable Airplane mode.

Open System Manager and touch Data usage to view and manage network access.

View and Manage High Data-consuming Applications:

1. In the “Data usage this month” interface, you can see a ranked list of data used by each app.

2. Tap a high data-consuming app to restrict its use of mobile data, roaming data, background data, etc.

View and Set Internet Access for Apps:

In the “Data usage management” interface, tap Network access and uncheck Mobile data for apps you want to restrict to Wi-Fi only, such as video players.

Enable or Disable Smart Data Saver:

1. On the Data usage screen, touch Smart Data Saver, then enable it. An icon will appear in the status bar.

2. To allow certain apps unrestricted data access while in the background, toggle the switches for those apps.

Add Mobile Data Usage Reminders:

1. On the Data usage page, tap More data settings > Monthly data limit, and set it according to the on-screen instructions.

2. On the More data settings page, tap Usage reminders. You can set the system to send reminders or cut off Internet access when the data limit is exceeded.

3. You can also enable Lock screen data usage reminder on the More data settings page.

Note: Data management features are not supported on Wi-Fi only tablets.

You can connect to a Wi-Fi network by entering a password, scanning a QR code, or using Wi-Fi Direct.

Connect with a Password:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.

2. Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to under Available networks.

3. If the network is encrypted, enter the password and connect.

4. Alternatively, scroll to the bottom, tap Add network, and enter the network name and password manually.

Connect via Scanning a QR Code:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.

2. On another device that is already connected to the network, go to its Wi-Fi settings, tap the connected network to generate a QR code.

3. On your HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09, scan the QR code to connect to the network.

The status icons on your HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09 provide information about network status, connections, and system functions. The exact appearance may vary.

You can view, clear, and customize notification settings on your HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09.

View and Clear Notifications:

– To view notifications, unlock the screen and swipe down from the top middle or left of the screen to open the Notification Center.

– To clear a single notification, swipe it to the right.

– To clear all notifications, tap the trash can icon at the bottom of the Notification Center.

Disable Notifications for an App:

If you don’t want to be disturbed by notifications from a specific app, swipe left on the notification you want to process, tap the settings icon, and you can select:

– USE GENTLE NOTIFICATIONS

– DISABLE NOTIFICATIONS

Power On:

Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until your device displays the logo.

Power Off:

Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, then touch Power off and Touch to power off.

Restart:

Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, then touch Restart and Touch to restart.

Forcefully Restart:

If your tablet is not working or turning off normally, press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons for more than 10 seconds to force a restart.

Precautions for Charging:

– Charge your tablet using the standard adapter and USB cable that came with your device.

– Your tablet automatically runs a safety check when a charger is connected. If moisture is detected in the USB port, it will limit charging. Disconnect the tablet and wait for the port to dry.

– Do not cover your tablet or charger during charging.

– If your tablet heats up after extended use, stop charging and move it to a cool place.

– Do not use your tablet while it is charging.

– If the tablet doesn’t respond after pressing the Power button, the battery may be drained. Charge for 30 minutes and then power it on.

Charging with the Included Charger:

1. Use the USB cable to connect your tablet to the adapter.

2. Plug the adapter into a power socket.

Charging with a PC:

1. Connect your tablet to a PC using a USB cable.

2. When the “Use USB to” dialog box appears, touch Charge only.

HONOR Connect allows for seamless collaboration between your HONOR devices for services like Connected Apps, Connected Call, and Connected Notification.

Connect More Devices with HONOR Connect:

1. Update all devices to be connected to the latest version and ensure they support HONOR Connect.

2. Log in to the same HONOR ID on your phone and the device to be connected.

3. Toggle on WLAN and Bluetooth on both devices.

4. On your HONOR PAD X9 ELN-W09, go to Settings > HONOR Connect, agree to the user agreement, and ensure the services are enabled.

Manage HONOR Connect:

– Go to Settings > HONOR Connect on your phone/tablet. In the list of “SERVICES ON THIS DEVICE,” you can enable or disable features like Connected Apps.

– To manage other connected devices, tap a device with “Nearby” displayed and configure its HONOR Connect services.

Disable HONOR Connect:

Go to Settings > HONOR Connect > (three dots menu) > About, and tap Disable service. To re-enable, you must agree to the user agreement again.

You can project your tablet screen wirelessly to a large display.

1. Prepare the large display:

– If the display supports Miracast, turn on its wireless projection switch.

– If it does not support Miracast, connect a wireless HDMI adapter to it and ensure the adapter is powered.

2. On your tablet, swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center, and turn on the Wi-Fi icon.

3. Swipe down again to show all shortcuts and enable Wireless Projection. Your tablet will begin searching for available display devices.

4. In the device list, touch the name corresponding to the large display or wireless HDMI adapter to complete the connection.

To stop projecting, swipe down to open the Notification Center and touch Disconnect.

HONOR Share allows for quick wireless file transfers between devices.

Enable or Disable HONOR Share:

– Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center, then turn HONOR Share on or off. You can also touch and hold the icon to access its settings.

– Go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share to enable or disable it.

Share Files Between Tablets:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On the sending device, tap and hold to select a file or album, then tap the share icon.

3. Tap HONOR Share, then tap the name of the receiving device to send the file.

4. On the receiving device, tap ACCEPT to accept the transfer. Received files can be found in Files > Phone > HONOR Share.

Share Files Between Your Tablet and Computer:

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

2. On your tablet, ensure HONOR Share is turned on.

3. Turn on PC Manager > HONOR Share on your PC and confirm “Allow discovery by other devices” is enabled.

4. To send from tablet to PC: Long press the file on your tablet, tap share, select HONOR Share, and tap the PC’s name.

5. To send from PC to tablet: Right-click the file on your PC, select Display more options > HONOR Share, and select your tablet to receive the file.

You can use various camera features to improve your photography.

Taking Photos:

1. Open the Camera app.

2. Tap the screen where you want to focus. To separate focus and metering points, press and hold the viewfinder until both frames appear, then drag them to their desired positions.

3. Adjust brightness by tapping the screen and swiping the sun icon up or down.

4. Pinch to zoom or use the zoom bar.

5. Tap the shutter button to shoot.

Use the Assistive Grid:

Go to Camera settings and enable Assistive grid. Place the subject of your photo at one of the intersecting points for better composition.

Take Professional-Looking Photos with AI:

1. Open Camera and select PHOTO mode.

2. Tap the “AI” icon to turn it on.

3. Frame your subject. The camera will intelligently identify the scene (e.g., food, beach) and automatically recommend an optimized mode.

Use the Floating Shutter:

In Camera settings, enable Floating shutter. A movable shutter button will appear on the side of the viewfinder, which you can drag to any position.

You can organize your media by adding, sorting, hiding, and moving items between albums.

Add Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums.

2. Touch the plus icon, name the album, and touch OK.

3. Select the photos or videos you want to add to the new album.

Sort Albums:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums > (three dots menu) and touch Sort albums.

2. Drag the icon next to an album to move it to the desired position. Touch Reset to return to the default order.

Hide an Album:

If you have private media, you can hide them. In the Albums tab, tap an album, long press to select the picture or video you want to hide, then tap (three dots menu) > Hide > OK. To view hidden items, go to the Albums tab > (three dots menu) > Hidden items.

Move Photos and Videos:

1. Open an album and long-press to select the photos and videos you want to move.

2. Touch (three dots menu) > Move and select the destination album.

Delete and Recover Photos and Videos:

Touch and hold to select items, then go to Delete > Delete. Deleted items are moved to the Recently deleted album for a period before being permanently deleted. To recover items, open the Recently deleted album, select the items, and touch the restore icon.

The multi-window feature allows you to use apps in split-screen or as a floating window for multitasking.

Enable Split-Screen Mode:

1. Open an app.

2. Swipe inward from the left or right edge of the screen and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

3. Drag an app icon out of the Multi-Window dock to open it in split-screen.

4. To exit, drag the short bar on the middle line until the other window disappears.

Use the Floating Window:

1. Swipe inward from the left or right edge and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

2. Touch an app icon in the dock to open it in a floating window.

3. You can relocate the window by dragging the top bar, resize it by dragging a corner, or close it by tapping the “X” icon.

Switch Between Split-Screen and Floating Window:

– From split-screen to floating: Touch and hold the bar at the top of a split-screen pane and drag it to the side (Portrait mode) or bottom (Landscape mode).

– From floating to split-screen: Touch and hold the bar at the top of the floating window and drag it to the upper/lower part (Portrait) or left/right (Landscape).

You can create and manage contact groups to easily send group messages or emails.

Create Groups:

1. Open the Contacts app and select the Groups tab.

2. Tap New, enter a group name (e.g., Family), and tap OK.

3. On the group screen, tap Add members, select the contacts to add, and tap Add.

Edit Groups:

On the Contacts interface, select Groups, and enter the group you want to edit.

– Add member: Tap Add members to add more contacts.

– Remove member: Long press the member you want to remove and tap Remove from group.

– More operations: Tap More to bulk remove members, or to select Group ringtone, Delete group, and Rename.

Send Group Messages or Emails:

On the Contacts interface, select Groups, and enter a group:

– Tap the message icon to send a group message.

– Tap the email icon to send a group email.

Delete Groups:

Go to Groups, long press the group to be deleted, and tap Delete.

The Calendar app helps you schedule events, set reminders, and manage your time.

Add Schedules:

1. Go to Calendar and tap the plus icon (+).

2. Enter details such as title, location, and the start and end time of the schedule.

3. Tap Add more fields to set a Reminder or Second reminder for the event.

4. Tap the checkmark to save the schedule.

Search for an Event:

On the Calendar screen, touch the search icon and enter keywords for your event, such as the title or location.

Delete Schedules:

On the Calendar screen, tap the schedule you want to delete, then tap the three-dots menu > Delete.

Customize Calendar View Settings:

Go to Calendar > three-dots menu > Settings. Here you can select the start day of the week or enable the switch to show week numbers.

View National/Regional Holidays:

Go to Calendar > three-dots menu > Settings > National/Regional holidays. Turn on the switch for a country/region to download and display its holiday information.

You can manage your apps by uninstalling them, clearing their cache, or changing their settings.

Uninstall an App:

– From the Standard home screen: Touch and hold the app icon, then touch Uninstall and follow the instructions.

– From Settings: Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, touch the app, then touch Uninstall.

Note: Some pre-installed system apps cannot be uninstalled.

Manage Background Apps:

1. Access the recent tasks screen (swipe up from the bottom and hold for Gestures, or tap the recent tasks key for Three-key navigation).

2. In the recent tasks screen, you can swipe up on an app preview to close it, or swipe down to lock it (preventing it from being closed in a batch).

Clear the Cache of an App:

To free up storage space, go to Settings > Apps > Apps, select the app you want to clear the cache of, then go to Storage > CLEAR CACHE.

View or Change App Settings:

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps and touch an app. Here you can force stop it, uninstall it, view and change its permissions, set notification modes, and more.

1. Connect your tablet to a computer with a USB cable. The computer will automatically install the necessary drivers, and a drive corresponding to your tablet will appear.

2. On your tablet, swipe down from the top to open the Notification Center, go to Touch for more options, and select a USB connection mode:

– Transfer photos: Uses Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP). You can view, copy, and paste photos stored on your tablet from the new drive on your computer.

– Transfer files: Uses Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). You can view, copy, and paste files stored on your tablet. It is recommended to install Windows Media Player 11 or later on your computer to view media files.

– Input MIDI: Use your tablet as an audio input device for Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) to play music on your computer.

You can customize the home screen by rearranging icons, changing the layout, and using the app drawer.

Rearrange icons:

Touch and hold an icon until it enlarges, then drag it to the desired position on the home screen.

Keep Home Screen Icons Aligned:

Pinch two fingers together on the home screen to access Home screen settings mode, then enable Auto-align. This will automatically fill empty spaces when apps are removed.

Lock Home Screen Icon Positions:

Pinch two fingers together on the home screen to access Home screen settings mode, then enable Lock layout to prevent icons from being moved.

Use App Drawer:

1. Go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Home screen style, and select Drawer.

2. Once enabled, you can swipe up on the home screen to access all your apps in the drawer.

3. To create a shortcut on the home screen from the drawer, open the drawer, touch and hold an app until it enlarges, then drag it to the desired position on the home screen.

You can extend battery life by using power-saving modes and managing battery settings.

Enable Power Saving Mode:

Go to Settings > Battery and enable Power Saving mode. This will restrict background apps and visual effects to reduce power consumption. A leaf icon will appear in the status bar.

Enable Performance Mode:

For maximum performance, go to Settings > Battery and enable Performance mode. Note that this will cause the battery to drain more quickly. A gauge icon will appear in the status bar.

Enable Smart Charge:

Smart Charge learns your charging habits to reduce battery wear. For example, if you charge overnight, it will pause charging at a certain level and resume before you wake up. To enable it, go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings, and enable Smart Charge.

Enable Smart Battery Capacity:

This feature intelligently adjusts the maximum available battery capacity to slow down battery wear. Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings, and enable Smart Battery Capacity.

Display Battery Percentage in the Status Bar:

Go to Settings > Battery, touch Battery percentage, and select whether to display it inside or next to the battery icon.

You can enhance your privacy by locking apps with sensitive data and securing your SIM card.

Use App Lock to Protect Your Privacy:

1. Enable App Lock: Go to Settings > Security > App Lock > ENABLE. Follow the onscreen instructions to set the App Lock password and select the apps you want to lock.

2. Change Password/Security Questions: In the App Lock settings screen, go to the settings icon > Password type, and select Lock screen password or Custom PIN.

3. Cancel App Lock: On the list of locked apps, toggle off the switches beside the apps you want to unlock.

Set a SIM PIN Lock:

1. Go to Settings > Security > More settings > Set up SIM lock.

2. Enable Lock SIM card, enter the PIN provided by your carrier, then touch OK.

After setting it up, you will need to enter the correct PIN to unlock the SIM card each time you power on your tablet or switch to a new tablet. Be careful, as too many incorrect attempts may block your SIM card permanently.

You can back up data to an external storage device and restore your tablet to various settings.

Back up data to a USB storage device:

1. Connect your tablet to a USB storage device (e.g., USB flash drive) with a USB OTG cable.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Tap BACK UP, check the data you want to back up, and tap Back up. You will be prompted to set a password for the encrypted backup.

Restore Your Tablet to Default/Factory Settings:

– Reset Network Settings: This resets Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings without deleting any data. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, and touch Reset network settings.

– Reset All Settings: This restores network settings, lock screen passwords, and home screen layout, but does not delete files or data. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, and tap Reset all settings.

– Restore Factory Settings (Erase all data): This erases all data on your tablet, including accounts, apps, music, images, and files. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset tablet, touch Reset tablet, and follow the instructions.

When an update is available, your tablet will prompt you to download and install it. Before updating, ensure your tablet is running an official system version and back up your user data.

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > Software update, and touch Check for updates.

2. When an update is available, you can choose to update manually or automatically overnight.

– Download and install manually: Go to New version > DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL. Connect to a Wi-Fi network to avoid data usage. Your tablet will automatically restart once the update is complete.

– Update overnight: Touch the three-dots menu > Device settings, and enable Auto-download over Wi-Fi and Update overnight. Your tablet will automatically update and restart between 02:00 – 04:00. For this to work, ensure your tablet is powered on, the screen is locked, no alarms are set for that period, and the battery is above 35%.
