You can choose between Gestures and Three-key navigation on your HONOR X6A WDY-LX1.

Use Gestures:

Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and select Gestures. With this mode, you can:

• Return to the parent menu: Swipe inward from the left or right edge of the screen.

• Return to the home screen: Swipe up from the middle of the bottom edge of the screen.

• Access multitasking: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and pause.

• Close a task: In the multitasking interface, swipe up on a task card. Swipe down on a card to lock it, preventing it from being cleared in batches.

Use Three-Key Navigation:

Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation, and select Three-key navigation. You can then:

• Touch the triangle icon to return to the previous menu or exit the current app.

• Touch the circle icon to return to the home screen.

• Touch the square icon to access the recent tasks screen.

You can also touch Settings within this menu to configure more options, such as selecting a different navigation key combination.

Device Clone lets you move basic data like contacts, calendar, images, and videos from your old phone. This feature is available on phones running Android 7.0 or later.

1. On your new HONOR X6A WDY-LX1, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch “This is the new device”, then select “HONOR devices” or “Other Android devices”.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch “This is the old device”. Follow the instructions to connect your old device with your new phone by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Transfer to begin the process.

You can use Device Clone to transfer data from an iPhone or iPad running iOS 8.0 or later to your new HONOR X6A WDY-LX1.

1. On your new HONOR X6A WDY-LX1, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch “This is the new device”, then touch “Apple devices”.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old iPhone or iPad, open the Device Clone app and touch “This is the old device”. Follow the instructions to connect it with your new phone by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the data cloning.

Locking the Screen:

If you do not operate the phone for a period of time, the screen will lock automatically. You can also manually lock it:

• Press the power button.

• Use the Screen Lock tool: Pinch two fingers on the home screen to enter editing mode, tap Cards, slide to the bottom and select Classic widgets. Tap Screen Lock to add it to your home screen, then tap the widget to lock the screen.

Unlocking the Screen:

Once the screen is turned on, swipe up from the middle of the screen to display the password input panel. Then, enter your lock screen password.

To set the duration of inactivity before your screen automatically locks, go to Settings > Display & brightness > Sleep and select a screen timeout period.

To add text to your lock screen, go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper, touch Lock screen signature, then type the text you want to display.

To remove the signature, touch Lock screen signature again and delete the text.

You can launch common apps directly from the lock screen:

• Camera: Light up the screen, touch and hold the Camera icon at the lower right corner, and swipe up to open Camera.

• Other apps (Flashlight, Calculator, Timer): Light up the screen and swipe up from the bottom edge to open the quick operation panel. Tap an icon to launch the corresponding app.

To connect to mobile data, ensure it’s available on your SIM card, then use one of these methods:

• Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, swipe down again to show all shortcuts, and turn on Mobile data.

• Go to Settings > Mobile network > Mobile data, and enable Mobile data.

To save battery and data, disable this service when not needed.

You can manage your SIM cards for easier identification and use.

• Enable or Disable a SIM Card: Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management, and enable or disable a SIM as needed. A disabled SIM cannot be used for calls, messages, or internet.

• Name Your SIM Card: Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management, and touch the pencil icon to edit the SIM card name (e.g., “Work”, “Personal”).

• Set Default SIMs: Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management and set SIM 1 or SIM 2 as the default for mobile data or calls.

• Enable Call Forwarding Between SIMs: This feature, which requires carrier support, forwards calls from one SIM to the other if the first is unreachable. Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management > Call forwarding between SIMs. Select a forwarding mode and turn on the switch.

You can share your phone’s mobile data or Wi-Fi connection via a Personal Hotspot, Bluetooth, or USB.

Share via Personal Hotspot:

1. Go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot, and enable Personal hotspot.

2. You can then set the Device name and Password. Touch Connected devices to view or block connected devices. If sharing mobile data, you can touch More to set a Data limit and AP band.

Share via Bluetooth:

1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth, enable it, select a device, and complete pairing.

2. Go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable Bluetooth tethering.

3. On the paired device’s Bluetooth settings, tap the settings icon next to your phone’s name and enable Internet access.

Share via USB:

1. Connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable.

2. On your phone, go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable USB tethering.

In Airplane mode, your phone cannot make calls, send SMS messages, or use mobile data, but other functions are available. Use one of the following methods:

• Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, then swipe down again to display all shortcuts. Touch the airplane icon to enable or disable Airplane mode.

• Go to Settings > Mobile network, and enable or disable Airplane mode.

When Airplane mode is enabled, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are automatically disabled. You can re-enable them if permitted by the airline.

Open System Manager, then touch Data usage to view and manage network access.

• View High Data-consuming Apps: In the “Data usage this month” interface, you can see a ranking of data used by each app. Tap a high-consuming app to restrict its use of mobile, roaming, or background data.

• Set Internet Access for Apps: In the “Data usage management” interface, tap Network access and uncheck Mobile data for high data-consuming apps (like video players) to restrict them to Wi-Fi only.

• Enable Smart Data Saver: To prevent apps from using mobile data in the background, go to the Data usage screen, touch Smart Data Saver, and enable it. You can toggle switches for specific apps to allow them unrestricted access.

• Add Data Usage Reminders: On the Data usage page, tap More data settings > Monthly data limit to set your plan limit. On the More data settings page, tap Usage reminders to set up notifications or automatic cutoff when your limit is approached or exceeded.

Connect Manually:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.

2. On the setting page, you can:

• Tap a network under “Available networks.” If it’s encrypted, enter the password.

• Pull down to the bottom, tap Add network, and enter the network name and password.

Connect via Scanning QR code:

1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn on Wi-Fi.

2. On the phone that is already connected and sharing the network, go to its Wi-Fi settings, tap the connected network, and get the QR code.

3. On your HONOR X6A WDY-LX1, scan the QR code to connect.

Wi-Fi Direct allows you to transfer large files to a nearby HONOR device more quickly than Bluetooth without pairing.

1. On the receiving device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and enable Wi-Fi.

2. Go to More settings > Wi-Fi Direct to start searching for nearby devices.

3. On your sending HONOR X6A WDY-LX1, touch and hold to select the files you want to share, touch the share icon, and select Wi-Fi Direct.

4. Touch the icon of the receiving device to establish a connection and share the files.

5. On the receiving device, accept the transfer request.

To view the received files, go to Files > Browse > Phone > Download > Wi-Fi Direct.

View and Clear Notifications:

• View: Unlock the screen and swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel.

• Clear: Swipe right on a notification to remove it. Touch the trash can icon to clear all notifications at once. Some system notifications cannot be cleared.

Manage Notifications:

To avoid being disturbed by a notification, swipe left on it and tap the settings icon. You can then select:

• USE GENTLE NOTIFICATIONS: To receive notifications without sound or vibration.

• DISABLE NOTIFICATIONS: To stop receiving notifications from that app.

• More settings: To access further notification options for that app.

Adjust Volume:

• Press the Volume up or down button to adjust the volume. When an incoming call or alarm rings, press the Power button to mute it.

Change Ringtone and Vibration:

1. Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration, and tap Phone ringtone or Notification tone.

2. Select a preset ringtone or tap Music on device to choose a local sound. For a dual-SIM phone, you can set separate ringtones for each SIM. Tap Vibration to select a vibration pattern.

Use Sound Shortcuts:

1. Swipe down from the status bar to show the notification panel, then swipe down again to see the entire menu.

2. Tap the Sound, Silent, or Vibration icons to toggle between modes.

Set Default Volume Levels:

Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration to set the default volume for Ringer, Notifications, and Alarms.

• Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, touch Power off, and then Touch to power off.

• Power On: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until the device vibrates and displays the logo.

• Restart: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, then touch Restart and Touch to restart.

• Forcefully Restart: If your phone is not working normally, press and hold the Volume down and Power buttons for more than 10 seconds to force a restart.

Charging Your Phone:

• Use the included charger: Use the USB cable and adapter that came with your phone. Plug the adapter into a power socket.

• Charge with a PC: Connect your phone to a PC with a USB cable. When the “Use USB to” dialog box appears, touch Charge only.

Precautions for Charging:

• Use the standard adapter and USB cable to avoid issues like slow charging or overheating.

• The phone runs a safety check when a charger is connected. If moisture is detected in the USB port, disconnect the phone and wait for the port to dry.

• Do not cover the phone or charger while charging.

• Avoid using your phone while it is charging.

• If the phone doesn’t respond, the battery may be drained. Charge it for 30 minutes and then try to power it on.

Overview of Battery Icons:

For security, notifications for incoming calls, SMS messages, and alarms will only be displayed on your phone, not the large display.

1. Prepare the large display:

• If the large display supports Miracast, turn on its wireless projection switch.

• If it does not support Miracast, connect a wireless HDMI adapter to it and ensure the adapter is powered.

2. On your phone, swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel, and turn on the Wi-Fi icon.

3. Swipe down again to show all shortcuts and enable Wireless Projection. Your phone will begin searching for available display devices.

4. In the device list, touch the name of the large display or wireless HDMI adapter to connect.

After connecting, you can place your phone in landscape mode for a better display. To stop, swipe down from the status bar and touch Disconnect.

You can print from your phone to a Mopria-certified printer over Wi-Fi.

1. Connect Your Phone to a Printer:

First, verify your printer is Mopria-certified. Then connect your phone and the printer to the same Wi-Fi network using one of these methods:

• Connect both to the same Wi-Fi router.

• Connect via Wi-Fi Direct if your printer supports it.

• Connect to your printer’s hotspot if it can function as one.

2. Enable the Print Service:

Go to Settings > More connections > Printing > Default Print Service, and enable it.

3. Add the Printer:

Select the printer from the search results and follow the onscreen instructions to add it.

4. Print Files:

• To print pictures: In Gallery, open a picture, tap the more options icon, select “Print or export to PDF”, choose the printer, and follow the instructions.

• To print notes: In Notes, open a note, tap the more options icon, select “Print”, choose the printer, and follow the instructions.

HONOR Share is a wireless technology for quickly transferring files like images and videos between devices without using mobile data.

Enable HONOR Share:

• Swipe down from the status bar to show all shortcuts, then tap to turn on HONOR Share.

• Go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share to enable it.

Share Files Between Phones:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On the sending device, tap and hold a file to select it, tap the share icon, tap HONOR Share, then tap the name of the receiving device.

3. On the receiving device, tap ACCEPT. The received file can be found in Files > Phone > HONOR Share.

Share Files Between Your Phone and a Computer:

• From Phone to PC:

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

2. Enable HONOR Share on your phone.

3. Turn on PC Manager > HONOR Share on your PC and confirm “Allow discovery by other devices” is enabled.

4. Long press the file on your phone, tap the share icon, select HONOR Share, and tap the PC’s name.

• From PC to Phone:

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC and HONOR Share on the phone.

2. Right-click the file on your PC, select Display more options > HONOR Share. Select your phone from the list to receive the file.

When a printer supporting HONOR Share is nearby, you can use it to print pictures or PDF files from your phone.

1. Depending on the printer type, ensure the following:

• Wi-Fi capable printers: Must be powered on and connected to the same network as your phone.

• WiFi Direct capable printers: Must be powered on with WiFi Direct enabled.

• Bluetooth capable printers: Must be powered on and discoverable via Bluetooth.

2. On your phone, preview the file you want to print, then go to Share > HONOR Share.

3. Once the printer is discovered, touch its name. Adjust settings on the preview screen, then touch PRINT.

You can adjust various camera settings to take photos and videos more quickly.

• Adjust the Aspect Ratio: Go to Camera, tap the settings icon > Aspect ratio and select a ratio.

• Enable Location Tag: In camera settings, enable Location tag to tag your location in photos and videos. You can view the location by swiping up on a photo or video in Gallery.

• Use the Assistive Grid: In camera settings, enable Assistive grid. Grid lines will appear in the viewfinder to help you compose your shot.

• Enable Mirror Reflection: When using the front camera, tap the settings icon to enable or disable Mirror reflection.

• Mute the Shutter Sound: In camera settings, enable Mute to silence the camera shutter.

• Use the Horizontal Level: In camera settings, enable Horizontal level to display a guiding line. When the dotted line overlaps with the solid line, the camera is parallel with the horizontal level.

1. Open Camera.

2. Perform any of the following operations in the viewfinder:

• Focus: Tap the screen where you want to focus. To separate the focus and metering points, press and hold the viewfinder until both frames appear, then drag them to their desired positions.

• Adjust brightness: Tap the screen and swipe the sun icon up or down.

• Zoom: Pinch two fingers on the screen or slide the zoom bar.

• Select mode: Swipe left or right in the camera mode area to choose a mode like PHOTO or VIDEO.

• Turn on the flash: Tap the flash icon and select Auto, On, Off, or Always on.

• Select a filter: Tap the filter icon to preview filter effects.

3. Tap the shutter button to shoot.

You can manage your photos and videos in the Gallery app.

• View Photos: Open Gallery. On the Photos tab, pinch in or out to switch between monthly and daily views. View photos by album on the Albums tab.

• Share Images: Go to Gallery > Albums. Tap an image and tap the share icon. To share multiple images, long press an image to enter multi-selection mode, select your images, and tap share.

• Organize Albums:

– Add Albums: On the Albums tab, touch the plus icon, name the album, and touch OK.

– Sort Albums: Tap the more options icon > Sort albums, then drag albums to your desired position.

– Move Photos: Open an album, touch and hold to select items, tap the more options icon > Move, and select the destination album.

– Delete Photos: Touch and hold to select items, then go to Delete > Delete. Deleted items are moved to the Recently deleted album and permanently deleted after a certain period.

– Add to Favorites: Open a photo or video and touch the heart icon.

Multi-Window allows for multitasking with split-screen and floating windows.

Enable Split-Screen Mode:

1. Open an app.

2. Swipe inward from the left or right edge of the screen and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

3. Drag an app icon out of the dock to open it in split-screen.

To exit, drag the bar on the middle line until the other window disappears.

Use the Floating Window:

1. Swipe inward from the left or right edge and hold to bring up the Multi-Window dock.

2. Touch an app icon in the dock to open it in a floating window.

You can then relocate the window by dragging the bar at the top, resize it by dragging a corner, or minimize it by shaking it or tapping the minimize icon.

• Uninstall an App:

– On the home screen, touch and hold the app icon, then touch Uninstall and follow the instructions.

– Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, touch the app, then touch Uninstall. Some pre-installed system apps cannot be uninstalled.

• Manage Background Apps:

1. Access the recent tasks screen (swipe up from the bottom and hold for Gestures, or touch the square key for Three-key navigation).

2. In the recent tasks screen, you can swipe to view app previews, tap a preview to open an app, swipe up to close an app, or swipe down to lock it from being closed in a batch.

• Clear the Cache of an App:

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, select the app, then go to Storage > CLEAR CACHE.

• Create Contacts: On the Contacts screen, tap the plus icon, enter the contact’s name, phone number, and other information, then tap the checkmark to save.

• Merge Duplicate Contacts: In the Contacts interface, go to the more options icon > Settings > Organize contacts > Merge duplicate contacts, select the duplicates, and tap Merge.

• Share Contacts: On the Contacts interface, long press a contact to select it, then tap Share contact. Select a sharing method and follow the instructions.

• Delete Contacts: Long press contacts to select them and tap Delete. Alternatively, tap a contact, tap More > Delete contact at the bottom.

• Manage Contact Groups: In Contacts, select the Groups tab. You can create new groups, add members, send group messages or emails, and edit or delete groups.

Make a Call:

• Open Phone, enter part of a phone number or a contact’s name to find them, then touch to make the call.

• Open Phone, touch the Contacts tab, and select a contact to call.

Manage Incoming Calls:

If you receive a call when the screen is unlocked:

• Touch the green phone icon to answer.

• Touch the red phone icon to reject.

• Touch the message icon to reject and reply with a message.

Enable Call Waiting:

This feature lets you answer a new call while another is in progress. Go to Phone > more options icon > Settings > More > Call waiting. This requires carrier support.

Enable Call Forwarding:

Automatically transfer calls to another number. Go to Phone > more options icon > Settings > Call forwarding. Select a method, enter the target number, and confirm. This requires carrier support.

Use Emergency SOS:

1. Go to Settings > Safety & emergency > Emergency SOS, and touch Emergency contacts to add a contact.

2. Enable “Also send SOS message” and “Auto-SOS call”, and set related permissions.

Once enabled, press the Power button five times in quick succession. Your phone will send a message with your current location to your emergency contacts and automatically call them one by one.

Make Emergency Calls:

From the lock screen, access the password entry screen and touch EMERGENCY. If you have a signal, your location will be obtained. Enter your local emergency number and touch the call button, or touch EMERGENCY INFORMATION to call a saved emergency contact.

Create a Note:

1. Go to Notes > Notes and tap the plus icon.

2. Enter a title and content. You can tap icons to add a checklist, change text formatting, insert an image, or use handwriting.

3. Tap the checkmark to save.

Add a Note by Scanning Documents:

1. Open Notes and go to Notes > plus icon > image icon > Scan document.

2. Align your camera with the document and tap the shutter icon to scan. The pages are saved in Notepad.

Create To-dos:

1. Go to Notes > To-dos and tap the plus icon.

2. Enter your to-do item. You can tap the clock icon to set a reminder and the flag icon to mark it as important.

3. Tap Save.

Add a Personal Email Account:

1. Open Email and select your mailbox provider.

2. Enter your email address and password, touch LOG IN, and follow the instructions. The system will automatically connect and check server settings.

Add an Exchange Account:

1. Obtain your domain name, server address, port number, and security type from your company email administrator.

2. Open Email and select Exchange.

3. Enter your email address, user name, and password.

4. Touch MANUAL SETUP and enter the server details you obtained.

5. Touch the checkmark to complete configuration.

Set Email Notifications:

1. Go to Email > more options icon > Settings > General > Notifications, and enable Allow notifications.

2. Select the email account, turn on the Allow notifications switch, and select a notification mode.

Go to Tools > Mirror. You can then:

• Zoom in or out: Drag the zoom slider at the bottom.

• Save the image: Tap the screen to pause the image, then tap the save icon. The saved image is in Gallery.

• Adjust brightness: Tap the plus or minus icons at the top of the screen.

• Fog up the screen: Tap the question mark icon and enable Blow. Blow into the microphone to fog the screen. Wipe the screen to clear it.

• Change the frame: Tap the frame icon to switch to a different frame.

• Create a broken mirror effect: Touch and hold the screen to “break” the mirror. Tap again to “fix” it.

• Rearrange icons: Touch and hold an icon until it enlarges, then drag it to the desired position.

• Keep Icons Aligned: Pinch two fingers together on the home screen to access Home screen settings mode, then enable Auto-align. Empty spaces will be filled automatically when apps are removed.

• Lock Icon Positions: In Home screen settings mode, enable Lock layout.

• Use App Drawer: To store apps in a drawer instead of on the home screen, go to Settings > Home screen & wallpaper > Home screen style, and select Drawer.

• Adjust Brightness Automatically: Go to Settings > Display & brightness, and enable Automatic.

• Adjust Brightness Manually: Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel. Drag the brightness slider. Or, go to Settings > Display & brightness and drag the slider.

• Enable Dark Mode: Go to Settings > Display & brightness and switch from Light to Dark. You can also set an automatic schedule via Auto-switch.

• Manage Full Screen Display: For apps that don’t automatically adapt to full screen, go to Settings > Display & brightness > More display settings > Full-Screen Display, and toggle on their switches.

Do Not Disturb mutes calls and messages and prevents banner notifications.

• Enable Manually: Swipe down from the status bar to show all shortcuts and tap Do Not Disturb. Or go to Settings > Sounds & vibration > Do Not Disturb and turn it on.

• Set a Schedule: Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration > Do Not Disturb. Enable Scheduled, then touch it to set the time frame and repeat cycle.

• Allow Exceptions: In the Do Not Disturb settings, you can tap Calls or Messages to allow notifications from specific contacts. You can also turn on Repeated calls to allow calls from the same number within 15 minutes to ring through.

• Enable Power Saving Mode: When the battery is low (recommended at 20% or lower), go to Settings > Battery and enable Power Saving mode. This restricts background apps and visual effects to reduce power consumption.

• Enable Performance Mode: For maximum performance when graphic-intensive apps are used, go to Settings > Battery and enable Performance mode. This will cause the battery to drain more quickly.

• Enable Smart Charge: This feature learns your charging habits to prolong battery life by reducing the time your device spends fully charged. Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings, and enable Smart Charge.

• Display Battery Percentage: Go to Settings > Battery, touch Battery percentage, and select whether to display it inside or next to the battery icon.

You can lock apps containing private data to prevent unauthorized access.

• Enable App Lock: Go to Settings > Security > App Lock > ENABLE. Follow the onscreen instructions to set the App Lock password and select the apps to lock. If you have face or fingerprint unlock enabled, you can link App Lock with it.

• Change Password: In the App Lock settings screen, go to the settings icon > Password type, and select Lock screen password or Custom PIN.

• Cancel or Disable App Lock:

– To cancel App Lock for specific apps, toggle off the switches beside them in the locked app list.

– To reset all settings, go to the settings icon > DISABLE APP LOCK > DISABLE.

Back up data to a USB storage device:

1. Connect your phone to a USB storage device (like a flash drive) with a USB OTG cable.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Tap BACK UP, check the data you want to back up, and tap Back up. You will be prompted to set a password for the encrypted backup.

Recover backup data from a USB storage device:

1. Connect the USB storage device to your phone.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Select the appropriate backup record from the RESTORE FROM BACKUP list.

4. Select the data to recover, tap Restore, and enter the password when prompted.

• Reset Network Settings: This resets Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings without deleting any data. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset network settings, and follow the instructions.

• Restore All Settings: This resets all network settings, lock screen password, and home screen layout. Enrolled fingerprints and facial data will be deleted, but other data like files will not. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, touch Reset all settings, and follow the instructions.

• Restore Factory Settings (Erase All Data): This will erase all data on your phone, including accounts, apps, music, images, and files. Make sure to back up your data first. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset phone, touch Reset phone, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Before updating, ensure your phone is running an official system version and back up your user data.

1. Go to Settings > System & updates > Software update, and touch CHECK FOR UPDATES.

2. When an update is available, you can choose to download and install it manually or have it update automatically overnight.

• Download and install: Go to New version > DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL. Connect to a Wi-Fi network to avoid data usage. Your phone will restart automatically when the update is complete.

• Update overnight: Tap the settings icon, and enable Auto-download over Wi-Fi and Update overnight. Your phone will update between 02:00 – 04:00, provided it is powered on, the screen is locked, no alarms are set, and the battery is above 35%.
