• When the product is in operation, please do NOT touch the moving parts, otherwise it may spoil your material.

• Do NOT leave the machine unattended during operation.

• Please cut off the power supply before switching to the laser module.

When should I stop using the LaserPecker LX1 immediately?

In case of the following situations, please stop using the product and cut off the power supply immediately:

• The product has a smell of burning odor.

• Engraved material generates a large amount of fumes or open flames.

• The internal components of the product have been damaged.

• The product stops working accidentally.

• The product generates unprecedented abnormal noise or light.

What are the safety precautions for laser engraving with the LX1?

• Installation specification: Before operating LX1, please secure the main unit based on the user manual. Place the product on a stable and flat table or workbench. Vibration will affect engraving quality.

• Due to laser risks, do NOT bring minors or people without self-protection awareness close to the device in operation.

• Before operating the laser module, have adequate knowledge of laser radiation physics, hazard classification, health implications, and safety measures.

• The laser module uses Class 4 lasers. The overall laser becomes Class 1 when paired with a laser protection cover as required and used correctly.

• When operating the laser module, do NOT look directly at or touch the laser outlet, or expose your body to the laser.

• It is recommended to correctly install and use the official LaserPecker laser protection cover, which filters scattered laser light. When properly installed and powered, its opening/closing is linked to laser emission (stops when opened) for personal safety.

• Engraving/cutting materials may release toxic/harmful gases or smoke. Judge based on material composition and use the product with an air purifier or in a well-ventilated place.

• Reflective materials can cause laser reflection and injury. Remove all reflective materials from the work area before and during use. It’s recommended to blacken the engraving area on reflective material with a whiteboard marker beforehand.

• Power the device with the specified power and type (adapter with 24V 5A). Mismatched adapters cause malfunction.

• Before starting the laser, take safety measures: wear safety goggles (prevent eye/skin injury), remove irrelevant objects (prevent damage from laser irradiation), move away flammable/explosive objects (avoid fire).

• After starting the laser, do NOT move the device, as it may cease operation for self-protection or affect the engraving result due to displacement.

What are the safety guidelines for using the Laser Protection Cover?

• Disconnect the connection cable between the protection cover and main unit, and separate them before moving either part.

• Do NOT scratch, bend, break the acrylic plate/profiles, or open the cover reversely, as it impairs protection and can cause permanent damage/injury.

• The cover top is a double-door structure. Do NOT place heavy objects over 5kg on top.

• Do not put objects or body parts near or into the exhaust fan during operation.

• Keep all wires away from exhaust fan blades to avoid damage.

• An LP Air Purifier can be connected to the exhaust fan to purify and filter air inside the cover.

What should I do in case of a fire during engraving?

Please take the following measures when there is open fire during engraving (LX1 can detect high temperature and cease operation at 50°C):

1. Cut off the power supply.

2. Douse the flames with a fire extinguisher.

What should I do if I inhale smoke or particulate matter during operation?

Fumes and particulates generated during engraving/cutting can irritate the respiratory system. It is recommended to use the product with an air purifier or in a well-ventilated place. Wear a protective mask if necessary. If respiratory irritation or similar symptoms occur, immediately move the patient to a site with fresh air and seek medical help.

1. Unbox the product.

2. Rotate the two frame legs 90 degrees outwards until they are perpendicular to the main beam.

3. Unscrew the screw lock located on the side of the Y-axis connection block (where the X-axis attaches).

4. Rotate the X-axis (the beam holding the module holder) 90 degrees upwards so it is parallel to the workbench surface, forming the gantry structure. Then, tighten the screw lock securely.

5. Unscrew the screw lock on the side of the laser module holder on the X-axis. Slide the laser module into the holder. Tighten the screw lock to secure the laser module.

How should the power and connection interfaces be connected?

Connect the cables as follows:

How do I connect the LaserPecker LX1 to the PC Software?

After assembling the device and powering it on, open the official PC Software LaserPecker Design Space (LDS) or LightBurn. You can connect the device to the PC software via:

• USB cable: Connect the included USB cable between the LX1 and your computer.

• Bluetooth dongle: Use an official Bluetooth dongle (if required/available) to connect wirelessly.

The software should then detect and allow you to connect to the machine.

How do I set the focal length for engraving?

When engraving, put the ranging rod (the small flip-down lever on the laser module) to its lowest position. Adjust the height of the laser module (using software controls or manual Z-axis if applicable) until the bottom tip of the ranging rod just touches the surface of the material to be engraved.

How do I set the focal length for cutting based on material thickness?

When cutting, adjust the position (height) of the laser module according to the thickness of the material. Use the scale marked on the side of the laser module. Align the white solid indicator line with the number corresponding to the material thickness in millimeters.

Reference for thickness adjustment:

• If Material thickness is 18mm, adjust the scale so the white line aligns with ’18’.

• If Material thickness is 6mm, adjust the scale so the white line aligns with ‘6’.

Adjust accordingly for other thicknesses based on the scale provided (likely ranging from 2mm to 18mm).

How do I change the pen in the Artist Module?

• To insert or tighten the pen: Slide down the regulator/holder mechanism on the Artist Module.

• To remove or change the pen: Slide up the regulator/holder mechanism on the Artist Module.

*Please refer to in-APP calibration for more calibration after changing the pen.

How do I perform machine maintenance (lubrication) on the X axis?

Fill the back and bottom of the X axis with lubricant when the machine is stuck in operation or as part of regular maintenance. The grease fitting is located behind the X axis (likely on the linear rail or leadscrew block) and potentially at the bottom of the Y axis connection points. Move the laser head to the grease fitting location. Align it and apply two to three drops of lubricant. It is recommended to add lubricating oil once every 3 months.
