What are the safety precautions for laser engraving with the LX1?
• Installation specification: Before operating LX1, please secure the main unit based on the user manual. Place the product on a stable and flat table or workbench. Vibration will affect engraving quality.
• Due to laser risks, do NOT bring minors or people without self-protection awareness close to the device in operation.
• Before operating the laser module, have adequate knowledge of laser radiation physics, hazard classification, health implications, and safety measures.
• The laser module uses Class 4 lasers. The overall laser becomes Class 1 when paired with a laser protection cover as required and used correctly.
• When operating the laser module, do NOT look directly at or touch the laser outlet, or expose your body to the laser.
• It is recommended to correctly install and use the official LaserPecker laser protection cover, which filters scattered laser light. When properly installed and powered, its opening/closing is linked to laser emission (stops when opened) for personal safety.
• Engraving/cutting materials may release toxic/harmful gases or smoke. Judge based on material composition and use the product with an air purifier or in a well-ventilated place.
• Reflective materials can cause laser reflection and injury. Remove all reflective materials from the work area before and during use. It’s recommended to blacken the engraving area on reflective material with a whiteboard marker beforehand.
• Power the device with the specified power and type (adapter with 24V 5A). Mismatched adapters cause malfunction.
• Before starting the laser, take safety measures: wear safety goggles (prevent eye/skin injury), remove irrelevant objects (prevent damage from laser irradiation), move away flammable/explosive objects (avoid fire).
• After starting the laser, do NOT move the device, as it may cease operation for self-protection or affect the engraving result due to displacement.
What are the safety guidelines for using the Laser Protection Cover?
• Disconnect the connection cable between the protection cover and main unit, and separate them before moving either part.
• Do NOT scratch, bend, break the acrylic plate/profiles, or open the cover reversely, as it impairs protection and can cause permanent damage/injury.
• The cover top is a double-door structure. Do NOT place heavy objects over 5kg on top.
• Do not put objects or body parts near or into the exhaust fan during operation.
• Keep all wires away from exhaust fan blades to avoid damage.
• An LP Air Purifier can be connected to the exhaust fan to purify and filter air inside the cover.
