First, go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and make sure Gestures is selected. Then, you can use the following gestures:

Capture part of the screen: Knock and draw an enclosed area with a knuckle to capture a specific part of the screen.

Record screen: Knock twice on the screen with two knuckles to start or end a screen recording.

You can use these gestures for quick access to various functions:

Enter home screen editing mode: Pinch with two fingers on the home screen.

Enter lockscreen quick access panel: While the screen is locked, tap the screen and swipe up from the bottom with one finger.

Open Control Centre: Swipe down from the top right of the screen.

Open Notification Centre and search: Swipe down from the top middle or left of the screen.

Access global search screen: Swipe down from the centre of the screen.

The physical buttons on your device perform the following actions:

Power off/Restart: Long press the power button until the Power off and Restart menus appear, then tap the corresponding menu.

Volume up: Press the volume up button.

Volume down: Press the volume down button.

Screenshot: Press the volume down button and the power button simultaneously.

You can choose between Gesture Navigation, Three-Key Navigation, or a Navigation Dock.

Use Gesture Navigation: Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and select Gestures. This allows you to swipe to navigate.

Use Three-Key Navigation: Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and select Three keys. This will display the classic Back, Home, and Recent tasks buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Use the Navigation Dock: Go to Settings > System & updates > System navigation and enable Navigation Dock. A floating dock button will appear that you can tap, hold, or swipe to navigate.

You can use the Device Clone feature to move basic data like contacts, calendar, images, and videos from your old phone to your new one.

1. On your new HONOR MAGIC7 PRO 5G PTP-N49, open the Device Clone app. Alternatively, go to Settings > System & updates > Device Clone, touch ‘This is the new device’, then select the old device type.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch ‘This is the old device’. Follow the instructions to connect your old device with your new phone by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Next > Transfer to start cloning.

Note: Device Clone is only available on phones running Android 7.0 or later.

Locking the Screen:

The screen locks automatically after a period of inactivity. To manually lock it:

Press the power button.

Pinch two fingers on the home screen, tap Cards, swipe to Classic widgets, and tap Screen Lock.

Turning On the Screen:

Press the Power button.

Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Wake screen, and enable ‘Raise to wake’ or ‘Double-tap to wake’.

Unlocking the Screen:

Password: Once the screen is on, swipe up from the middle of the screen and enter your lock screen password.

Face Unlock: Turn on the screen and align it with your face. The device will unlock once your face is recognised.

Fingerprint Unlock: When the screen is on, the fingerprint icon will display. Touch the icon with an enroled finger to unlock.

If your device has two SIM cards inserted, you can manage them as follows:

Set the Default Mobile Data and Calling SIM:

Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management and set SIM 1 or SIM 2 as the default for mobile data or calls.

Enable Call Forwarding Between SIM Cards:

This feature forwards calls to your other SIM if one is unreachable. This requires carrier support.

1. Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management > Call forwarding between SIMs.

2. Select a call forwarding mode and turn on the corresponding switch.

Quickly Switch the Default Mobile Data SIM:

1. Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center. Turn on Mobile data.

2. Touch the text under the Mobile data icon until a prompt is displayed, then select a SIM card and touch OK.

Add an eSIM Card:

1. Go to Settings > Mobile network > SIM management.

2. Touch the arrow next to SIM 2. You can add the eSIM by:

– Scanning a QR code: Your carrier will provide a QR code. After you scan it, your device will download the configuration file and enable the eSIM.

– Scanning an image: If you have the QR code saved as an image, touch ‘Select from Gallery’ to scan it.

– Entering an activation code: Touch ‘Enter manually’ and follow the instructions.

Enable the eSIM Card:

On the SIM management screen, touch the arrow next to SIM 2 and enable the eSIM card as prompted.

Disable the eSIM Card:

On the SIM management screen, touch the arrow next to SIM 2 and disable the eSIM card as prompted. Disabling the eSIM does not suspend your monthly fee from the carrier.

You can share your mobile data or the Wi-Fi network your phone is connected to via a Personal Hotspot, Bluetooth, or USB.

Share via Personal Hotspot:

Go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot, and enable Personal hotspot. You can then set a device name and password. Other devices can connect to this hotspot via Wi-Fi.

Share via Bluetooth:

1. Pair your phone with the other device via Bluetooth.

2. On your HONOR MAGIC7 PRO 5G PTP-N49, go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable Bluetooth tethering.

3. On the paired device’s Bluetooth settings, enable Internet access for the connection.

Share via USB:

1. Use a USB cable to connect your device to a computer.

2. On your device, go to Settings > Mobile network > Personal hotspot > More, and enable USB tethering.

View Notifications:

When you have a notification reminder, unlock the screen and swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and view it.

Clear Notifications:

You can remove a single notification by swiping right on it.

You can touch the clear icon to remove all notifications.

Manage How Notifications are Shown:

To stop receiving notifications from an app, swipe left on the notification you want to process, tap the settings icon, and you can choose to disable gentle notifications, disable all notifications, or access more settings for that app.

Press a Volume Button: Press the Volume up or down button to adjust the volume.

Switch Sound Mode:

1. Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center.

2. Tap Sound, Silent, or Vibration to switch between different modes.

Set the Default Volume for Different Items:

Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration to set the volume for Notifications, Alarms, Music/Videos/Games, and Calls.

Mute Your Device When It Rings:

When your device rings for a call or alarm, you can press the Power button to mute it.

You can also enable ‘Flip to mute’ or ‘Raise to reduce volume’ in Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Mute ringtone/Reduce volume.

Power On: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds until your device vibrates and displays the logo.

Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for 5 seconds, then touch ‘Power off’ and ‘Touch to power off’.

Restart: Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds, then touch ‘Restart’ and ‘Touch to restart’.

Force Restart: If your phone is not working properly, long-press the volume down and power buttons for more than 10 seconds to force a restart.

Wireless reverse charging allows you to charge other devices that support the Wireless Charging Standard (like phones, tablets, watches) using your HONOR MAGIC7 PRO 5G PTP-N49. Ensure your device’s battery level is higher than 20%.

1. Go to Settings > Battery, and enable Wireless Reverse Charging.

2. Power on the device to be charged and place it on the center of the back of your HONOR MAGIC7 PRO 5G PTP-N49. Do not place any metal objects between the devices.

3. If charging doesn’t start within 5 seconds, adjust the position and try again.

4. If the device to be charged is removed for more than 2 minutes, Wireless Reverse Charging will automatically be disabled.

HONOR Connect allows devices logged in with the same HONOR ID to discover and automatically connect to each other, forming a ‘MagicRing’ for seamless transfer of information and services. This enables features like continuing an app on another device, answering phone calls on a tablet, or using a computer keyboard to type on your phone.

To set up HONOR Connect:

1. Log in to the same HONOR ID on your phone and the device you want to connect.

2. Toggle on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices.

3. Go to Settings > HONOR Connect, agree to the user agreement, and ensure the services of HONOR Connect are enabled on both devices.

A device with “Nearby” displayed on the HONOR Connect settings page indicates it has been connected.

You can connect your phone to a Windows PC to manage notifications, photos, calls, and access your phone’s screen and apps on the PC.

1. On your phone, swipe down from the top right to open the Control Centre and tap ‘Link to Windows’. Alternatively, go to Settings > More connections > Link to Windows.

2. The first time you use this feature, follow the prompts on your phone to set permissions.

3. When you use the function again, just turn on ‘Link to Windows’ on your phone to complete the connection.

Both the phone and the computer must be connected to the Internet. On your PC, you will use the Phone Link app to manage your device.

Multi-screen Collaboration allows you to display your phone screen on a compatible HONOR tablet, use phone apps, drag files between devices, and edit a file from your phone on the tablet.

To connect your tablet and phone:

Connect over Bluetooth:

1. On your tablet, swipe down from the status bar and enable Multi-Screen Collaboration.

2. On your phone, swipe down from the top right to open the Control Center, and enable Bluetooth.

3. Hold your phone close to your tablet and follow the onscreen instructions to connect.

Scan QR code to connect:

1. On your tablet, enable Multi-Screen Collaboration, and on the collaboration screen, touch ‘Scan to connect’.

2. Ensure your phone is connected to the Internet, and connect as prompted.

Once connected, you can operate your phone from the phone window on your tablet, drag and drop files, and more.

You can project your screen wirelessly or with a wired connection.

Project Wirelessly:

1. Depending on your large display: If it supports Miracast, turn on its wireless projection switch. If not, connect a wireless HDMI adapter to it.

2. On your phone, swipe down from the top right to open the Control Center and turn on Wi-Fi.

3. Swipe down again to show all shortcuts and enable Wireless Projection. Your phone will search for available displays.

4. In the device list, touch the name of your large display or wireless HDMI adapter to connect.

Project Using a Wired Connection (Type-C Cable):

1. Prepare a compatible cable (e.g., Type-C to HDMI, Type-C to DP).

2. Connect the Type-C end to your phone and the other end to the large display.

3. On the external display, set the corresponding input (HDMI, DP, etc.) as the signal source.

HONOR Share is a wireless sharing technology for quickly transferring files between supported devices.

Enable or Disable HONOR Share:

Swipe down from the top right of the screen to open the Control Center, then turn HONOR Share on or off. You can also go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share.

Share Files Between Two HONOR Devices:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On the sending device, touch and hold a file to select it, then touch the share icon. Touch HONOR Share, then touch the icon of the receiving device.

3. On the receiving device, touch Accept to receive the transfer.

Share Files Between Your Phone and a PC:

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

2. Turn on HONOR Share on your phone.

3. Turn on HONOR PC Manager > HONOR Share on your PC and confirm ‘Allow discovery by other devices’ is enabled.

4. To send from phone to PC: Long press the file on your phone, tap share, select HONOR Share, and tap the PC’s name.

5. To send from PC to phone: Right-click the file on your PC, select Display more options > HONOR Share, and select your phone to receive the file.

There are several ways to open the Camera app:

From the Home Screen: Open the Camera app from the home screen.

From the Lock Screen: When the screen is locked, turn it on, then swipe up on the camera icon in the lower right corner.

Quick Launch When Screen is Off: To open the camera or take a photo instantly without unlocking, you can press the Volume down button or the Power button twice. To configure this, go to Camera > Settings (gear icon) > Quick Launch and select your preferred action (e.g., Launch Camera only or Launch Camera & take photo).

Burst mode lets you take a sequence of photos in quick succession.

1. Open Camera, select Photo mode, and make sure the rear camera is in use.

2. Touch and hold the shutter button, or press and hold one of the Volume buttons to take a burst photo. A counter will show how many photos you’ve taken.

3. Lift your finger to stop shooting.

To select the best photos from a burst sequence, open the photo in the Gallery, touch the burst icon, swipe through the photos, select the ones you want to keep, and then touch SAVE AS.

Pro mode gives you full control over camera settings for fine-tuning photos and videos. Open Camera and select Pro mode.

You can then adjust the following parameters:

Metering method (M): Choose between Matrix (for scenery), Centre-focused (for portraits), or Point metering.

ISO sensitivity (ISO): Increase for low light, decrease for bright light to avoid noise.

Shutter speed (S): Use a slower speed for still scenes (e.g., landscapes) and a faster speed for moving subjects.

Exposure compensation (EV): Increase for low light, decrease for bright light.

Focus mode (AF): Choose between AF-S (Single, for still subjects), AF-C (Continuous, for moving subjects), or MF (Manual Focus).

White Balance (WB): Select a preset like daylight or cloudy, or adjust the colour temperature manually.

1. Go to Camera > More and select Slow-mo mode.

2. Touch the icon for Slow-Mo modes and select the speed (e.g., 4x or 8x).

3. Touch the record button to start recording.

4. Touch the stop button to end the recording.

After recording, you can go to the Gallery to play the video. During playback, you can touch ‘More > Open in a video player’ to display the editing area and drag the sliders to adjust which part of the video is played in slow motion.

The Gallery app offers a wide range of editing features.

Add stickers: In Gallery, open a photo, go to Edit > Sticker. Select a sticker type (Time, Weather, Mood), choose a sticker, and drag it to position it.

Pixelate photos: Open a photo, go to Edit > Mosaic. Select a mosaic style and size to cover parts of the photo.

Rename Photos: In Gallery, touch the photo thumbnail you want to rename, go to More (three dots) > Rename and enter a new name.

Remove Unwanted Content: Open an image in Gallery, tap Edit > AI Eraser. You can then use ‘Circle to erase’ or ‘Brush to erase’ to remove objects like pedestrians, text, or clutter from your photos.

Create Collage: In Gallery, go to Create > Collage, select multiple images, and tap Create. You can then select a template and adjust the images.

Magic Text can extract text from images, allowing you to copy, drag, or tap it for related services like sending messages or searching.

First, enable it by tapping Settings > HONOR AI > Magic Text.

To extract text from images:

Method 1: Tap the icon

1. Open an image and tap the Magic Text icon in the lower right. The recognized text will be highlighted.

2. Tap the underlined text to view relevant services or drag the cursor to select text for copying, sharing, or searching.

Method 2: Long press the text

1. Open an image and long press on the text area with one finger.

2. Drag the cursor to select the recognized text and perform quick operations like copy, select all, share, and search.

AI Privacy Call allows you to take calls in crowded places like elevators or buses without worrying about being overheard. The feature intelligently directs the sound to your ear, securing call privacy. For the best effect, follow the on-screen prompts to keep your ear as close as possible to the best listening area.

To manage this feature, go to Settings > Accessibility features > AI Privacy Call. You can select:

Enable by default: The phone automatically enters privacy protection mode for every call.

Enable intelligently: The phone senses the surrounding volume. It enters privacy mode in quiet environments and exits it in noisy environments by adjusting the call volume.

Never: Turns off AI Privacy Call.

The Magic Capsule is an interactive area at the top of the screen that displays ongoing tasks, allowing you to view real-time status, perform quick operations, or quickly enter applications. For example, if you start a recording in the Recorder app and go back to the home screen, the Magic Capsule will show the recording status.

View Status and Perform Quick Operations: Tap the Magic Capsule or the “little ball” it shrinks into to expand it and check the detailed status or perform actions related to the ongoing task.

Quickly Access Apps: When the Magic Capsule is expanded, you can tap anywhere on the expanded area to return to the app.

AI Translate provides real-time translation for conversations. First, enable the feature and add a shortcut to your home screen via Settings > HONOR AI > AI Translate.

Chat Mode:

1. Open AI Translate, select Chat, and set the conversation language for both parties.

2. Tap the button corresponding to your language to start speaking. When you finish, tap the button again. The page will display and read aloud the real-time translation.

Interpreter Mode:

1. Open AI Translate and select Interpreter. Set the source and target languages.

2. Tap the button below to start simultaneous translation and tap again to end it. For real-time audio broadcast, connect headphones.

Taking a Screenshot:

Knuckle Screenshot: Knock the screen twice in quick succession with one knuckle.

Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons simultaneously.

Shortcut Button: Swipe down from the top right to open the Control Center and tap the Screenshot icon.

Three-Finger Swipe: Swipe down from the middle of the screen with three fingers (ensure this is enabled in Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures).

Air Gestures (Grabshot): Hold your palm towards the top of the screen (30-40cm away) and make a fist.

Recording the Screen:

Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons simultaneously.

Shortcut: Swipe down from the top right to open the Control Center and touch Screen Recorder.

Two Knuckles: Knock the screen twice with two knuckles to start or stop recording (ensure this is enabled in Settings).

Multi-Window allows for easier multi-tasking. First, ensure the Multi-Window dock is turned on in Settings > Accessibility features > Multi-Window.

Open a floating window:

Swipe inwards from either side of the screen and hold to open the Multi-Window dock. Tap an app in the dock to open it in a floating window.

Activate split-screen mode:

From a full-screen app: Swipe inwards from both long edges of the screen and pause until the Multi-Window dock appears. Then, press and drag the app icon onto the screen and release to enter split-screen mode.

From a floating window: For a supported app, touch and hold the bar at the top of its floating window and drag it to the top or bottom of the screen to enter split-screen mode.

In split-screen mode, you can drag the divider to adjust window size, swap app positions, or save the app pair to your home screen.

Uninstall an App:

Touch and hold the app icon on the home screen, then touch Uninstall and follow the instructions.

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, touch the app, then touch Uninstall.

Manage Background Apps:

1. Access the recent tasks screen by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding (with Gestures enabled).

2. On the recent tasks screen, you can swipe up on an app preview to close it or swipe down to lock it (preventing it from being closed in a batch). Touch the clear icon to close all unlocked apps.

Clear the Cache of an App:

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, select the app, then go to Storage > Clear cache.

App Twin allows you to log in to two different accounts for the same app (e.g., WhatsApp or Facebook) simultaneously.

To enable it, go to Settings > Apps > App Twin and toggle on the switch for a supported app. A twin of that app will then be displayed on the home screen.

Note that only certain apps support App Twin, and the feature is only available in the MainSpace or for the device owner if PrivateSpace or multiple users are enabled.

Always On Display (AOD) shows information like the date, time, and notifications when the screen is off.

1. Go to Settings > Home screen & style > Always On Display, and enable Always On Display.

2. Set the Display mode as prompted (e.g., Tap to show, Scheduled, or All day).

You can customize the AOD by selecting from various styles:

Images: Choose a GIF or animated photo to display.

Graffiti: Add your own signature with different fonts and colors.

Artistic: Choose from modern art styles and customize the color scheme.

Analogue or Digital: Select your preferred clock style.

Your device offers several features to reduce eye strain.

Eye Comfort: This mode filters out blue light, giving the screen a warmer tone. Enable it from the Control Center or in Settings > HONOR Eye Comfort Display > Eye Comfort. You can schedule it or customize the filter level.

Defocus Eyecare: This feature adjusts the display during activities like video watching or reading to create the illusion that content is positioned further away, which can lessen eye strain. Enable it in Settings > HONOR Eye Comfort Display.

Natural Tone: Your phone automatically adjusts the screen’s color temperature based on ambient lighting for a more paper-like viewing experience. Enable it in Settings > HONOR Eye Comfort Display.

Dark mode: This feature uses a dark background to reduce screen brightness and irritation. Enable it from the Control Center or in Settings > Display & brightness.

Apply E-book mode: This mode turns the screen black and white to reduce eye fatigue, ideal for reading. Enable it from the Control Center or in Settings > Display & brightness.

You can use your fingerprint to unlock the screen, access your Safe, or access locked apps.

Enroll a Fingerprint:

1. Go to Settings > Biometrics & password > Fingerprint ID and enter your lock screen password.

2. Tap New fingerprint to begin.

3. Place your finger on the in-screen fingerprint sensing area. Press on the area until the phone vibrates and release. Repeat this with different sections of your finger until enrollment is complete.

4. Tap OK.

After enrollment, you can enable ‘Access Safe’ or ‘Access App Lock’ from the Fingerprint ID settings screen to use your fingerprint for those features.

Parallel Space is a separate, secure space on your phone, independent of the MainSpace, where you can save important data and apps.

Enable Parallel Space:

1. Go to Settings > Security & privacy > Device & data protection > Parallel Space and tap Enable.

2. Follow the prompts to set a password and a password protection question.

Manage Apps and Files in Parallel Space:

Once inside Parallel Space, you can tap ‘Add apps’ to add apps from your MainSpace. You can also tap ‘Move files in’ to migrate data like images and videos into the secure space, or ‘Move files out’ to move them back to the MainSpace.

There are different types of resets available in Settings > System & updates > Reset.

Reset Network Settings: This resets your Wi-Fi, mobile data network, and Bluetooth settings. It will not delete any other data. Touch ‘Reset network settings’ to proceed.

Reset All Settings: This restores network settings, lock screen passwords, and the home screen layout. It will also restore fingerprint and face IDs but will not delete files or other data. Touch ‘Reset all settings’ to proceed.

Restore Factory Settings (Reset phone): This is a full factory reset that will erase all data on your device, including accounts, app data, system settings, installed apps, music, and images. Make sure to back up your data before performing this action. Touch ‘Reset phone’ to proceed.
