2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old device, open the Device Clone app and touch “This is the old device”. Follow instructions to connect your old device with your new phone by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone, then touch Transfer to start. (Note: Device Clone for Android requires Android 7.0 or later).

Migrate Data from an iPhone or iPad:

1. On your new HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1, open the Device Clone app, touch “This is the new device”, then touch “iPhone/iPad”.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to download and install Device Clone on your old device.

3. On your old iPhone or iPad, open the Device Clone app and touch “This is the old device”. Connect it to your new phone by scanning a code or connecting manually.

4. On your old device, select the data you want to clone and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the data cloning. (Note: Device Clone for iOS requires iOS 8.0 or later).

You can manage your screen lock and unlock settings on the HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1 as follows:

Set the Screen Timeout Period: Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Sleep and select a screen timeout period.

Turn On the Screen:

• Press the Power button.

• Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Wake screen, and enable Raise to wake.

Unlock the Screen with Password: Once the screen is on, swipe up from the middle of the screen to display the password input panel and enter your lock screen password.

Use Face Unlock: Turn on the screen and align it with your face. Your phone will unlock once your face is recognized.

Service Cards:

• You can also pinch two fingers on the home screen, tap Cards, select a service like Gallery or Weather, choose a style, and tap ADD TO HOME SCREEN.

• To remove a service card, long press it, select Remove from the pop-up list, and confirm.

Big Folders:

• To create a big folder, long press a standard folder and tap Enlarge.

• To use a big folder, tap an app icon in it to open the app directly. Tap the layers icon in the lower right corner to expand the folder.

• To switch back to a standard folder, long press the big folder and tap Shrink.

App Suggestions:

• To add the App suggestions card, pinch two fingers on the home screen, tap Cards, select YOYO Suggestions, choose a style, and tap ADD TO HOME SCREEN.

• To stop an app from being recommended, long press the app icon within the YOYO Suggestions card and tap Not interested > OK.

Taking a Screenshot:

• Use Your Knuckle: Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Take screenshot and enable Knuckle screenshots. Then, knock the screen twice in quick succession with one knuckle.

• Use a Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons simultaneously.

• Use the Shortcut Switch: Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and tap the screenshot icon.

• Three-Finger Screenshot: Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Take screenshot and enable Three-finger screenshot. Then swipe down from the middle of the screen with three fingers.

Screen Recording:

• Use a Key Combination: Press and hold the Power and Volume up buttons simultaneously to start recording. Press and hold both buttons again to stop.

• Use a Shortcut: Swipe down from the status bar to show all shortcuts, then touch Screen Recorder to start. Touch the timer at the top of the screen to stop.

• Use Two Knuckles: Go to Settings > Accessibility features > Shortcuts & gestures > Record screen and ensure it’s enabled. Knock the screen twice with two knuckles to start or stop recording.

During a screen recording, you can touch the microphone icon to record your voice along with the screen.

Adjust Volume: Press the Volume up or down button.

Mute When Ringing: When your phone rings for a call or alarm, press the Power button to mute it.

Change Ringtone and Vibration: Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration and tap Phone ringtone or Notification tone. You can select a system ringtone, a local music file, and set the vibration mode.

Toggle Modes with Shortcuts: Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel. Continue swiping down and tap Sound, Silent, or Vibration to toggle between modes.

System Haptics: Go to Settings > Sounds & vibration > More settings to enable or disable System haptics for feedback on actions like touch and hold.

Charging Instructions:

• Use the standard adapter and USB cable that came with your device for safe and efficient charging.

• Your phone will run a safety check when a charger is connected. If moisture is detected in the USB port, it will limit charging. Disconnect the phone and wait for the port to dry.

• To charge with a PC, connect your phone using a USB cable. When the “Use USB to” dialog box appears, touch “Charge only”.

Battery Icon Meanings:

Connecting your HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1 to a Windows PC via Phone Link lets you manage notifications, photos, calls, and files between devices.

Connect Your Phone and PC:

1. On your phone, swipe down to open the notification panel and tap “Link to Windows”, or go to Settings > More connections > Link to Windows.

2. For the first time, tap “Link your phone and PC” on your phone. On your PC, visit http://www.aka.ms/phonelinkQRC with a browser to get a QR code.

3. Scan the QR code on the PC screen with your phone to log in and connect. Follow the on-screen prompts to set permissions.

Once connected, you can:

• Manage Notifications and Messages: View and clear phone notifications and manage text messages from your PC.

• Make and Receive Calls: Make and receive calls on your PC. Your PC must support Bluetooth for this feature.

• Access Photos: View and manage the last 2,000 photos from your phone on your PC.

• Access Phone Apps: Access and control your phone’s apps on your PC.

Disconnect the Phone from the PC:

• On your phone, go to Settings > More connections > Link to Windows and turn it off.

To project your HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1 screen wirelessly to a large display like a TV, follow these steps:

1. Prepare the large display:

• If the display supports Miracast, turn on its wireless projection switch.

• If it does not support Miracast, connect a wireless HDMI adapter to it and ensure the adapter is powered.

2. On your phone, swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel.

3. Swipe down again to show all shortcuts and enable Wireless Projection.

4. Your phone will start searching for available display devices. In the device list, touch the name corresponding to your large display or wireless HDMI adapter to connect.

After connecting, you can place your phone in landscape mode for a better display. To stop projecting, swipe down from the status bar and touch Disconnect.

HONOR Share is a wireless sharing technology for transferring files between devices.

Enable/Disable HONOR Share:

• Swipe down from the status bar to show all shortcuts, then turn HONOR Share on or off.

• Go to Settings > More connections > HONOR Share to enable or disable it.

Share Files Between Phones:

1. On the receiving device, enable HONOR Share.

2. On your sending device, tap and hold to select a file or album, tap the share icon, then tap HONOR Share. Tap the name of the receiving device to send the file.

3. On the receiving device, tap ACCEPT to receive the file.

Share Files Between Your Phone and Computer:

1. Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the PC.

2. On your phone, enable HONOR Share.

3. On your PC, turn on PC Manager > HONOR Share and ensure “Allow discovery by other devices” is enabled.

4. To share from phone to PC: Long press the file on your phone, tap share, select HONOR Share, and tap the PC’s name.

5. To share from PC to phone: Right-click the file on your PC, select Display more options > HONOR Share, and select your phone to receive the file.

To take photos, open the Camera app. Here are some common modes and operations:

• Focus and Brightness: Tap the screen to focus. To separate focus and metering points, press and hold the viewfinder until both frames appear, then drag them. Tap the screen and swipe the sun icon up or down to adjust brightness.

• Zoom: Pinch with two fingers or use the zoom slider to zoom in or out.

• Portrait Mode: Select PORTRAIT mode. Point the camera at a person. You can tap the beauty icon to adjust the beauty effect.

• Aperture Mode: Select APERTURE mode to shoot photos with a blurred background. Touch where you want to focus, then drag the slider to adjust the aperture setting. A smaller value creates more blur.

• AI Photography: In PHOTO mode, tap the AI icon to turn it on. The camera will intelligently identify scenes (like food or beaches) and optimize settings automatically.

• Super Macro: Go to Camera > MORE and select Super macro mode to shoot close-ups of small objects.

• Panorama: Go to Camera > MORE and select Panorama mode. Touch the shutter button and move the camera in the direction of the on-screen arrow.

• Pro Mode: Select MORE > PRO mode for full manual control over settings like ISO, shutter speed (S), exposure compensation (EV), and focus mode (AF).

The Gallery app on your HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1 offers a range of editing features.

Basic Photo Editing:

1. Open Gallery, touch the photo thumbnail you want to edit, then touch the edit icon.

2. You can then:

• Crop and rotate: Touch Crop, select a frame, and drag the grid. Drag the angle wheel to rotate.

• Add a filter: Touch Filter and select a filter.

• Adjust effects: Touch Adjust to change brightness, contrast, saturation, and more.

• Other edits: Touch More to add a color splash, blur, doodle, or label.

3. Touch the save icon to save your edits.

Video Editing:

1. Go to Gallery > Albums and touch the video you want to edit.

2. Touch the edit icon to enter the editing screen. You can:

• Select a theme: Touch Template to apply a preset theme.

• Edit clips: Touch Edit, then drag the sliders on the timeline to trim the video.

• Add a transition: In Edit mode, position the playhead where you want a transition, touch Cut, and then touch the transition icon on the timeline to select one.

• Edit background music: Touch Music to add preset or local music. You can also extract audio from another video.

3. When finished, touch the preview icon and then the export icon to save the video.

You can organize your photos and videos into albums for easy management.

• Add Albums: Go to Gallery > Albums, touch the plus icon, name the album, and touch OK. Then select the photos or videos you want to add.

• Sort Albums: Go to Gallery > Albums, touch the four-dot icon > Sort albums. Drag the icon next to an album to move it to the desired position.

• Move Photos and Videos: Open an album, touch and hold to select items, touch the three-dot icon > Move, and select the destination album.

• Delete Photos and Videos: Touch and hold to select items, then go to Delete > Delete. Deleted items are moved to the Recently deleted album and permanently deleted after a certain period.

• Recover Deleted Items: In the Recently deleted album, touch and hold to select items you want to recover, then touch the restore icon.

• Block Albums: To hide third-party app albums, go to Gallery > Albums. In the Others list, touch an album you want to block. If the block icon is displayed at the top, touch it and then Block. Blocked albums are only viewable in Files.

• Hide Albums: In the Albums tab, tap an album, long press to select a picture or video, tap the three-dot icon > Hide > OK. To view hidden items, tap the three-dot icon in the Albums tab > Hidden items.

Uninstall an App:

• On the Standard home screen, touch and hold the app icon, then touch Uninstall.

• On the Drawer home screen, touch and hold the app icon in the drawer, then touch Uninstall.

• Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, touch the app, then touch Uninstall.

Manage Background Apps:

1. Access the recent tasks screen (Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and hold for Gestures; touch the square key for Three-key navigation).

2. On the recent tasks screen, you can swipe to view app previews, swipe up to close an app, or swipe down to lock it (a locked app won’t be closed when you clear all apps).

Clear the Cache of an App:

Go to Settings > Apps > Apps, select the app, then go to Storage > CLEAR CACHE to free up space.

Managing Contacts:

• Create a contact: Open the Contacts app, tap the plus icon, enter the contact’s information, and tap the checkmark to save.

• Merge duplicate contacts: On the Contacts interface, go to the three-dot menu > Settings > Organize contacts > Merge duplicate contacts, select the contacts to merge, and tap Merge.

• Share contacts: Long press a contact, tap Share contact, and choose a sharing method.

• Delete contacts: Long press a contact and tap Delete. For bulk deletion, select contacts and tap More > Delete contact at the bottom.

Making Calls:

• Dial a number: Open the Phone app and enter a number on the keypad.

• Call from Contacts: Open the Phone app, touch the Contacts tab, and select a contact to call.

• End a call: Touch the red end call button. You can also enable “Power button ends call” in Phone > Settings > More.

• Use VoLTE for HD Video Calls: Contact your carrier to activate VoLTE. Once enabled, you can make HD video calls to other VoLTE-activated devices from the contact’s page.

The Optimizer app (also called System Manager) helps you keep your HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1 in optimal condition.

Clean Up Phone Storage:

1. Open System Manager, then touch Cleanup.

2. After the scan, touch CLEAN UP to delete redundant files like app residue and unwanted installation packages.

3. You can also touch Duplicate files on the Cleanup screen to find and delete duplicate files.

Manage Data Usage:

1. Open System Manager, then touch Data usage.

2. You can view data consumption by apps under “Data usage this month”.

3. Tap “Network access” to control which apps can use Mobile Data or Wi-Fi.

Enable Smart Data Saver:

On the Data usage screen, touch Smart Data Saver and enable it to prevent apps from using mobile data in the background.

Wi-Fi Settings:

• Connect to a Wi-Fi Network: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and enable Wi-Fi. Select a network from the “Available networks” list and enter the password if required.

• Use Wi-Fi Direct: Transfer files quickly between HONOR devices without pairing. On the receiving device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > More settings > Wi-Fi Direct to become discoverable. On the sending device, select files, tap share, and choose Wi-Fi Direct to send.

Bluetooth Settings:

• Turn Bluetooth On/Off: Swipe down from the status bar and tap the Bluetooth icon, or go to Settings > Bluetooth and use the toggle switch.

• Pair with a Device: Go to the Bluetooth settings screen and enable Bluetooth. Your phone will search for nearby devices. Select the device you want to pair with from the “Available devices” list and follow the prompts.

• Transfer Files via Bluetooth: After pairing, touch and hold a file, select share, choose Bluetooth, and select the recipient device.

• Unpair a Device: In the Bluetooth settings, tap the settings icon next to a device in the “Paired devices” list, and then touch Unpair.

You can manage your phone’s power consumption in Settings > Battery.

• Enable Power Saving Mode: Go to Settings > Battery and enable Power Saving mode. This mode reduces power consumption by disabling some functions and restricting background apps. A leaf icon will appear in the status bar.

• Enable Performance Mode: For maximum performance, go to Settings > Battery and enable Performance mode. This will cause the battery to drain more quickly.

• Enable Smart Charge: Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings, and enable Smart Charge. This feature learns your charging habits to reduce battery wear and prolong battery life, for example by pausing charging overnight and resuming before you wake up.

• Display Battery Percentage: Go to Settings > Battery, touch Battery percentage, and select whether to display it inside or next to the battery icon.

Use App Lock to Protect Your Privacy:

1. Go to Settings > Security > App Lock > ENABLE.

2. Follow the onscreen instructions to set the App Lock password and select the apps you want to lock.

3. If you have face or fingerprint unlock enabled, you can link App Lock with a face ID or fingerprint ID for easy access.

Set a SIM PIN Lock:

1. Go to Settings > Security > More settings > Set up SIM lock.

2. Enable Lock SIM card, enter the PIN provided by your carrier, then touch OK. You will now be required to enter this PIN every time you power on your phone or switch to a new phone.

You can back up your data to an external USB storage device and restore it later.

Back up data to a USB storage device:

1. Connect your phone to a USB storage device (like a flash drive or card reader) with a USB OTG cable.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Tap BACK UP, check the data you want to back up, and tap Back up. Follow the on-screen instructions to set a password for the encrypted backup.

Recover backup data from a USB storage device:

1. Connect your phone to the USB storage device with the backup file.

2. Go to Settings > System & updates > Backup & restore > Data backup > External storage and select USB storage.

3. Select the backup record from the RESTORE FROM BACKUP list.

4. Select the data you need to recover, tap Restore, and enter the password when prompted.

Your HONOR MAGIC5 LITE 5G RMO-NX1 has several reset options:

• Reset Network Settings: This will reset your Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth settings. It will not change other settings or delete any data. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, and touch Reset network settings.

• Restore All Settings: This resets all network settings, your lock screen password, and home screen layout. Enrolled fingerprints and facial data will also be deleted. It does not delete other data or files. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset, and touch Reset all settings.

• Restore Factory Settings (Erase all data): This operation will erase all data on your phone, including accounts, app data, system settings, installed apps, music, images, and all files in the internal storage. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset phone, and touch Reset phone.
