These instructions are intended to ensure that the user can use the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF correctly to avoid danger or property loss.

Dangers:

• All electronic operations should be in strict compliance with the electrical safety regulations, fire prevention regulations, and other related regulations in your local region.

• Please use the power adapter provided by a normal company. The HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF is intended to be supplied from a Class 2 surge-protected power source rated DC 12V, 3A.

• Do not connect several devices to one power adapter, as adapter overload may cause overheating or a fire hazard.

• Please make sure that the power has been disconnected before you wire, install, or dismantle the device.

• When the product is installed on a wall or ceiling, the device shall be firmly fixed.

• If smoke, odors, or noise rise from the device, turn off the power at once and unplug the power cable, then please contact the service center.

• Do not ingest the battery; there is a Chemical Burn Hazard. This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

• If the product does not work properly, please contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Never attempt to disassemble the device yourself. (We shall not assume any responsibility for problems caused by unauthorized repair or maintenance.)

Cautions:

• Do not drop the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF or subject it to physical shock, and do not expose it to high electromagnetism radiation. Avoid installation on vibration surfaces or places subject to shock.

• Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations, and do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation.

• The device cover for indoor use shall be kept from rain and moisture.

• Exposing the equipment to direct sunlight, low ventilation, or heat sources such as a heater or radiator is forbidden.

• Do not aim the device at the sun or extra bright places. A blooming or smear may occur otherwise and affect the endurance of the sensor.

• Please use the provided glove when opening the device cover to avoid direct contact, as acidic sweat from fingers may erode the surface coating.

• Please use a soft and dry cloth when cleaning the inside and outside surfaces of the device cover; do not use alkaline detergents.

• Please keep all wrappers after unpacking for future use. In case of any failure, you need to return the device to the factory with the original wrapper.

• Improper use or replacement of the battery may result in an explosion hazard. Replace with the same or equivalent type only. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions provided by the battery manufacturer.

• Biometric recognition products are not 100% applicable to anti-spoofing environments. If you require a higher security level, use multiple authentication modes.

• Working temperature: -30 °C to +60 °C.

• For indoor and outdoor use, if installing indoors, the device should be at least 2 meters away from light and 3 meters away from a window or door. If installing outdoors, apply silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

• Protection level: IP65.

Use only the power supplies listed in the user instructions for the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF:

• If installing the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF indoors, the device should be at least 2 meters away from the light, and at least 3 meters away from the window or the door.

• If installing the device outdoors, you should apply silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

• Make sure the environment illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• Make sure the output of the external power supply fulfills LPS.

Steps

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part if your HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF model supports it.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

Steps

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill 6 holes on the wall or other surface according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 in the mounting template.

3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews in the drilled holes.

4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and use the supplied screws to secure it.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Insert the fingerprint module to the holes at the bottom of the main part if your model supports it.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

You should activate the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF before the first login. After powering on, the system will switch to the Device Activation page. Activation can be done via the device itself, the SADP tool, or client software. The default values are:

• Default IP address: 192.0.0.64

• Default port No.: 8000

• Default user name: admin

Activate via Device

1. On the Activate Device page, create a password and confirm the password.

2. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

Activate via SADP

1. Get the SADP software and install it. Ensure the device and PC are on the same subnet.

2. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.

3. Find and select your device from the list.

4. Input a new admin password and confirm it.

5. Click Activate to start activation. The device status will become Active.

6. To modify the IP address, select the device again, change the IP address manually or by enabling DHCP, input the admin password, and click Modify.

Activate via Client Software

1. Enter the Device Management page in the client software.

2. Click the icon on the right of Device Management and select Device.

3. Click Online Device to show devices in the list.

4. Check the device status and select an inactive device.

5. Click Activate to open the Activation dialog.

6. Create a password and confirm it.

7. Click OK to activate the device.

Set Application Mode

After activating the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF, you should select an application mode for better performance.

1. On the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

• If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

• If you do not configure it, the system will select Indoor by default.

2. Tap OK to save.

Set Recognition Mode

After setting the application mode, you should select a face recognition mode.

1. On the Welcome page, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes face via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: The device can recognize a much wider range of people, suitable for more complicated environments.

2. Tap OK to save. If you do not configure it, the system will select Normal by default.

Login For First Login

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entering page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator

After you add an administrator for the device, only the administrator can log in for device operation.

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

• The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts.

• Optionally, you can tap the lock icon and enter the device activation password to log in, or tap the exit button to exit the admin login page.

Set Network Parameters

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap Network to enter the Network tab.

3. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway and input the parameters.

4. Tap OK, then tap the checkmark to save the settings.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap Wi-Fi to enter the Wi-Fi tab.

3. Enable the Wi-Fi function.

4. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list.

5. Select an IP mode (Static or Dynamic) and input the necessary details (Wi-Fi password, IP address, etc.).

6. Tap OK, then tap the checkmark to save the settings.

Set RS-485 Parameters

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap RS-485 to enter the RS-485 tab.

3. Select an external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader).

4. Tap the checkmark to save the network parameters. The device will reboot automatically if you change the external device.

Set Wiegand Parameters

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap Wiegand to enter the Wiegand tab.

3. Enable the Wiegand function.

4. Select a transmission direction: Output (for external access controller) or Input (for Wiegand card reader).

5. Tap the checkmark to save. The device will reboot if you change this setting.

Add a User (Administrator or Normal)

1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the employee ID (less than 32 characters, cannot start with 0, must be unique).

3. Input the user name.

4. Add credentials: Face Picture, Fingerprints, Cards, or Password.

• Face Picture: Tap the Face Picture field, position your face in the outline, and tap Save. Maximum duration is 15s.

• Fingerprint: Tap the Fingerprint field and follow on-screen instructions. Up to 10 fingerprints per user.

• Card: Tap the Card field and enter the card number manually or swipe the card. Up to 5000 cards can be added.

• Password: Tap the Password field and create a numeric password (up to 8 digits).

5. Set the authentication mode (Device or Custom).

6. Enable Administrator Permission if the user is an administrator.

7. Optional: Select a Schedule Template.

8. Tap the checkmark to save the settings.

Search and Edit User

• Search: On the User Management page, tap the search icon, select a search type (Card, Employee ID, User Name), enter the search term, and tap the search icon to find the user.

• Edit: Select a user from the list to enter the Edit User page. Follow the steps in “Add a User” to edit parameters and tap the checkmark to save. The employee ID cannot be edited.

Export Data

1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

2. Tap Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

3. Plug in a USB flash drive (1G to 32G, format DB, with more than 512M free space).

4. Tap Yes on the pop-up page, and the data will be exported to the USB flash drive.

Import Data

1. Plug a USB flash drive (FAT32 format) with the data into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window, and the data will be imported from the USB flash drive.

• For importing face pictures, they should be in a root directory folder named `enroll_pic`. The file name format must be `Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg`.

• Picture requirements: JPEG/JPG format, 640×480 pixels or more, size between 60 KB and 200 KB, full-face view, no hats or head coverings.

On the Home page, tap System to enter the System Settings page.

Fingerprint Parameters

You can select the fingerprint security level. The higher the security level, the lower the false acceptance rate (FAR) and the higher the false rejection rate (FRR).

Upgrade Firmware

1. Plug in the USB flash drive containing the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory.

2. Tap System → Maint. (Maintenance).

3. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware. Do not power off during the upgrade.

Data Management

1. Tap Data (Data Management) on the home screen to enter the Data Management page.

2. Tap the desired button to manage data and tap Yes on the pop-up to confirm.

After adding the device to the client software, you can use the two-way audio feature.

Call Client Software from Device

1. Add the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF to the client software.

2. On the device’s initial page, tap Call.

3. Input 0 in the pop-up window and tap Call.

4. On the client software, tap Answer on the pop-up to start two-way audio.

Call Master Station from Device

1. Add the master station and the device to the client software.

2. Set the master station’s IP and SIP address in the remote configuration page.

3. On the device’s initial page, tap the master station icon.

4. Answer the call via the master station to start two-way audio.

Call Device from Client Software

1. Add the device to the client software.

2. Enter the Live View page and double-click the added device to start live view.

3. Right-click the live view image and select Start Two-Way Audio.

Call Indoor Station from Device

1. Add the indoor station and the device to the client software.

2. Link a user to an indoor station and set a room number.

3. On the device’s authentication page, tap the indoor station icon.

4. Input the room number on the dial page and tap the call button.

5. After the indoor station answers, you can start two-way audio.

You can add the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF to the client software for remote configuration and management.

Add an Online Device

1. Enter the Device Management module in the client software.

2. Click the Device tab, then click Online Device. Searched online devices will be displayed.

3. Select a device from the list and click Add.

4. Enter the required information: Name, User Name (default: admin), and Password.

5. Optionally, check Synchronize Time and Import to Group.

6. Click Add.

Add Device by IP Address or Domain Name

1. In the Device Management module, click Add.

2. Select IP/Domain as the adding mode.

3. Enter the information: Name, Address (IP or domain), Port (default: 8000), User Name, and Password.

4. Optionally, check Synchronize Time and Import to Group.

5. Click Add.

Batch Import Devices

1. In the Device Management module, click Add.

2. Select Batch Import as the adding mode.

3. Click Export Template to save the pre-defined CSV template to your PC.

4. Open the template and enter the required information for the devices to be added.

5. Click the browse button to select the completed template file.

6. Click Add to import the devices.

Configure Schedule and Template

1. Click Access Control → Schedule → Template.

2. Click Add on the left panel to create a new template and give it a name.

3. Edit the week schedule: Click the Week Schedule tab, select a day, and draw time durations on the timeline bar. Up to 8 durations can be set per day.

4. Add a holiday: Click the Holiday tab, and select a pre-configured holiday to apply it to the template. You can add holidays under Access Control → Schedule → Holiday.

5. Click Save.

Set Access Group

1. Click Access Control → Access Group.

2. Click Add to open the Add window.

3. Create a name for the access group.

4. Select a template for the access group.

5. In the Select Person field, select the person(s) for this group.

6. In the Select Door field, select the door(s) the persons can access.

7. Click OK.

8. After creating the group, select it and click Apply All to Devices or Apply Changes to Devices to send the authorization to the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF.

1. Configure Attendance Parameters

Go to Time & Attendance → Attendance Settings to configure:

• General Rule: Set week/month beginning, weekends, and absence parameters.

• Overtime: Configure overtime levels and work hour rates.

• Attendance Check Point: Define which card readers are used for attendance records.

• Holiday: Add regular or irregular holidays.

2. Add Timetable

Go to Time & Attendance → Timetable → Add to create a work schedule:

• Create a name for the timetable.

• Select a type (General for fixed times, Flexible for man-hour shifts).

• Set start/end work times, valid check-in/out times, and allowances for being late or leaving early.

3. Add Shift and Manage Schedule

Go to Time & Attendance → Shift to create a shift using your timetables. Then go to Time & Attendance → Shift Schedule to assign the shift to a department or specific person for a set period.

4. Calculate Attendance Data

Go to Attendance Statistics → Calculate Attendance. Set the date range and other conditions, then click Calculate. This is required before generating reports.

5. View Statistics and Generate Reports

Go to Attendance Statistics to view original records or generate various reports (e.g., daily, monthly). Select a report type, department/person, and date range, then click Report.

Recommended Finger: Forefinger, middle finger, or the third finger.

Correct Scanning: Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the scanner center.

Incorrect Scanning includes: Placing the finger vertically, on the edge of the scanner, or on its side.

Environment: The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain. If your finger is too dry, you can blow on it before scanning again.

Others: If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods. If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it; try another finger.

Positions (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

• Avoid positioning the camera too high, too low, too close, or too far. The recommended height for the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF installation is between 1.4 m and 1.9 m.

Expression:

• Keep your expression natural, similar to the example in the manual.

• Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can affect the facial recognition function.

• Do not let your hair cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

• Position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

• Ensure your face is in the middle of the collecting window. Avoid being too close or too far from the camera.

The wake-up distance of the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TEF varies based on the environment and lighting conditions. The table below shows the approximate distances for Short, Medium, and Long settings.
