Dangers:

• All electronic operations should strictly comply with electrical safety regulations and fire prevention regulations in your local region.

• Use the provided power adapter. The equipment is intended to be supplied from a Class 2 surge-protected power source rated DC 12V, 3A.

• Do not connect several devices to one power adapter to avoid overload, which can cause overheating or fire hazards.

• Ensure power is disconnected before you wire, install, or dismantle the device.

• When installed on a wall or ceiling, the device must be firmly fixed.

• If smoke, odors, or noise arise from the device, turn off the power immediately, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.

• Do not ingest the battery; it is a Chemical Burn Hazard. This product contains a coin/button cell battery which can cause severe internal burns and lead to death if swallowed. Keep batteries away from children.

• If the product does not work properly, contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Do not attempt to disassemble the device yourself.

Cautions:

• Do not drop the device or subject it to physical shock. Avoid installation on surfaces subject to vibrations or shock.

• Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations. Do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation.

• The indoor use device cover must be kept from rain and moisture.

• Do not expose the equipment to direct sunlight, low ventilation, or heat sources like heaters or radiators.

• Do not aim the device at the sun or extra bright places.

• Use the provided glove when opening the device cover to avoid direct contact, as acidic sweat can erode the surface coating.

• Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning inside and outside surfaces. Do not use alkaline detergents.

• Keep all original wrappers for future use in case of failure returns.

• Replace the battery only with the same or equivalent type to avoid explosion hazards. Dispose of used batteries according to manufacturer instructions.

• For outdoor installation, apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering. The protection level is IP65.

• Working temperature is -30 °C to +60 °C.

• For indoor installation, the device should be at least 2 meters away from any light source and at least 3 meters away from a window or door.

• For outdoor installation, you should apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep raindrops from entering.

• Ensure the environment illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• The installation height is recommended to be 1.4 meters from the ground to the datum line on the mounting template, but you can adjust it based on your actual needs.

• Avoid backlight, direct sunlight, and indirect sunlight for optimal performance.

Step 1. Stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, ensuring the datum line is 1.4 meters above the ground.

Step 2. Drill holes according to the template and install the gang box.

Step 3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate to the gang box.

Step 4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate to the wall.

Step 5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to expose the wiring terminals.

Step 6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect it to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

Step 7. Install the sheet back onto the device with the two screws.

Step 8. Apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

Step 9. Optional: If your model includes a fingerprint module, insert it into the holes at the bottom of the main part.

Step 10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on the plate.

Step 11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

Step 1. Stick the mounting template on the wall, with the datum line 1.4 meters above the ground.

Step 2. Drill 6 holes on the wall according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 on the mounting template.

Step 3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews into the drilled holes.

Step 4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and secure it.

Step 5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and take off the sheet to access the wiring terminals.

Step 6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect to external devices.

Step 7. Re-install the sheet on the device with the two screws.

Step 8. Apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to keep rain out.

Step 9. Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part, if applicable.

Step 10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on the plate.

Step 11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

You must activate the device before the first login. Activation can be done directly on the device, via SADP tool, or via client software. The device’s default IP address is 192.0.0.64, port is 8000, and user name is admin.

Activate via Device:

Step 1. After powering on the device, the Activate Device page will appear.

Step 2. Create a strong password (minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters).

Step 3. Confirm the password.

Step 4. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

Activate via SADP:

Step 1. Run the SADP software on a PC within the same subnet as the device.

Step 2. The software will search for and list online devices. Select your inactive device from the list.

Step 3. Input a new admin password and confirm it.

Step 4. Click Activate. The device status will change to Active.

Step 5. To modify the IP address, select the active device, change the IP address to be on the same subnet as your computer (or enable DHCP), input the admin password, and click Modify.

Activate via Client Software:

Step 1. Open the client software and go to the Device Management page.

Step 2. Click Online Device to find devices on the local network.

Step 3. Select an inactive device from the list and click Activate.

Step 4. In the Activation dialog, create a password and confirm it.

Step 5. Click OK to activate the device.

Set Application Mode:

Step 1. After activation, on the Welcome page, select an application mode from the drop-down list.

• Indoor: Select this for standard indoor environments.

• Others: Select this if you install the device indoors near a window or if the face recognition function is not working well.

Step 2. Tap OK to save. If you do not configure it, the system will select Indoor by default.

Set Recognition Mode:

Step 1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select a recognition mode.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes faces via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: Allows the device to recognize a much wider range of people, suitable for more complicated environments.

Step 2. Tap OK to save. If you do not configure it, the system will select Normal by default.

For the First Login (before an administrator is added):

Step 1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to bring up the password entry page.

Step 2. Enter the device activation password you created.

Step 3. Tap OK to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator (after an administrator is added):

Step 1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

Step 2. Authenticate using the administrator’s registered face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

Note: The device will lock for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts. You can also tap the lock icon to enter the activation password for login.

Add a User (or Administrator):

Step 1. On the home page, tap User, then tap the ‘+’ icon to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID (less than 32 characters, cannot start with 0, must be unique).

Step 3. Tap the Name field and input the user name (up to 32 characters).

Step 4. Add authentication credentials:

• Face Picture: Tap the Face Picture field, position your face in the camera frame, and tap Save. The maximum duration for adding a face is 15 seconds.

• Fingerprint: Tap the Fingerprint field and follow the on-screen instructions to place your finger on the module. You can add up to 10 fingerprints per user.

• Card: Tap the Card field and either enter the card number manually or swipe the card over the swiping area. Up to 5000 cards can be added.

• Password: Tap the Password field, create a numeric password (up to 8 characters), and confirm it.

Step 5. To make the user an administrator, enable the “Enable Administrator Permission” function.

Step 6. Tap the save icon to save the settings.

Set Authentication Mode:

On the Add User or Edit User page, tap Authentication Mode. You can select “Device” to use the terminal’s default mode or “Custom” to combine different authentication methods for that specific user.

Search and Edit a User:

On the User Management page, tap the search icon. You can search by employee ID, card number, or user name. Select a user from the list to enter the Edit User page and modify their parameters.

Export Data:

Step 1. Plug a USB flash drive (1G to 32G, with more than 512M free space) into the device’s USB port.

Step 2. On the home page, tap Transfer.

Step 3. Tap one of the export options: Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

Step 4. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the USB flash drive.

Import Data:

Step 1. Ensure the data to be imported is correctly formatted on the USB flash drive and plug it into the device.

• The supported USB drive format is FAT32.

• For user pictures in normal mode, they should be in a root directory folder named “enroll_pic” and named according to the rule: Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg. Picture size should be between 60 KB and 200 KB.

Step 2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

Step 3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB drive to the device.

The system authenticates users based on the configured mode, which can be 1:N matching or 1:1 matching.

1:N Matching (Face Only)

If the authentication mode is set to “Face,” the user simply positions their face in front of the camera. The device compares the captured face with all face pictures stored in its database. If a match is found, a prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

1:1 Matching (Card + Face/Fingerprint)

Step 1. If the mode is “Card and Face” or “Card and Face and Fingerprint,” the user first swipes their card in the card swiping area.

Step 2. The device then prompts for the next authentication step.

• For “Card and Face,” the user positions their face in front of the camera. The device compares the captured face only with the face picture associated with the swiped card.

• For “Card and Face and Fingerprint,” after successful face authentication, the device will prompt “Continue to authenticate.” The user then places their finger on the fingerprint module.

1:1 Matching and 1:N Matching Combined (Fingerprint + Face)

Step 1. If the mode is “Fingerprint and Face,” the user first authenticates their fingerprint on the module. The device performs a 1:N match against all stored fingerprints.

Step 2. Once the fingerprint is authenticated, the device prompts “Continue to authenticate.” The user then positions their face in front of the camera for a 1:1 face match against the face picture associated with the authenticated fingerprint.

On the Home page, tap System to enter the System Settings page. Here you can configure the following basic parameters:

Tap T&A Status on the home page to configure the attendance mode. This function should be used in cooperation with the time and attendance function on the client software.

Disable Attendance Mode:

Set the Attendance Mode to Disable. You will not see or configure attendance status on the initial page. The system will follow rules configured on the platform.

Set Manual Attendance:

Step 1. Set the Attendance Mode to Manual.

Step 2. Enable the Attendance Status function.

Step 3. After authentication, you must manually select an attendance status (e.g., Check In, Check Out). If you do not select a status, the authentication will fail and not be marked as valid.

Set Auto Attendance:

Step 1. Set the Attendance Mode to Auto.

Step 2. Select an attendance status (e.g., Break Out) and set its schedule (e.g., Monday 11:00 to 12:00). When a user authenticates during this configured schedule, their attendance will be automatically marked as that status.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance:

Set the Attendance Mode to Manual and Auto. The system will automatically mark attendance based on the configured schedule. However, you also have the option to manually tap “Select Status” on the initial page to override the automatic status for a particular authentication.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to configure the following parameters:

Upgrade Firmware:

Step 1. Plug in a USB flash drive containing the upgrade file (named digicap.dav) in the root directory.

Step 2. On the System Settings page, tap Maint. (Maintenance) and then tap Upgrade.

Step 3. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware. Do not power off the device during the upgrade.

Data Management:

On the home page, tap Data to enter the Data Management page. You have the following options:

• Delete All Events: Deletes all events stored in the device.

• Delete User Data: Deletes all user data in the device.

• Delete Captured Pic.: Deletes all captured pictures.

• Restore to Factory: Restores the system to factory settings. The device will reboot.

• Restore to Default: Restores the system to default settings but saves communication and remote user settings.

Log Query:

Step 1. On the Home page, tap Log.

Step 2. Select a search type (e.g., Card No., User Name).

Step 3. Input the search criteria.

Step 4. Select a time frame (e.g., Yesterday, This Week, or Custom).

Step 5. Tap the search icon to view the logs.

Recommended Finger:

Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

Correct Scanning:

Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your finger should align with the center of the scanner.

Incorrect Scanning to Avoid:

• Placing the finger vertically.

• Placing only the edge of the finger on the scanner.

• Placing the side of the finger on the scanner.

Environment:

The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain. If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it; you can blow on your finger and try again.

Other Tips:

• If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods.

• If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it. You can try a different finger.

Positions (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

Ensure your head is positioned correctly. Avoid being too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera. The recommended height for face recognition is between 1.4 m and 1.9 m.

Expression:

Keep your expression natural, similar to a standard portrait photo.

Accessories and Makeup:

• Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that could obstruct the facial recognition function.

• Do not let your hair cover your eyes, ears, etc.

• Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

Position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

Make sure your face is centered within the collecting window. Avoid being too close or too far, which would make the face image too large or too small.
