Use only the power supplies listed in the user instructions:

The HIKVISION DS-K1T607TE series has different features depending on the specific series (Normal, P, or T).

The following table describes the main components of the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TE:

First, ensure the installation environment meets these requirements:

• For indoor installation, the device should be at least 2 meters from light and 3 meters from a window or door.

• For outdoor installation, apply silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

• The environment illumination should be more than 100 Lux.

• The recommended installation height is 1.4 meters from the ground to the datum line on the template.

Installation with a Gang Box:

1. Stick the mounting template on the wall at the recommended height.

2. Drill holes according to the template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate to the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate to the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel of the device and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route cables through the hole in the mounting plate and connect them to the device’s terminals.

7. Reinstall the sheet back on the device.

8. Apply silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to keep rain out.

9. (Optional) Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

Installation without a Gang Box:

1. Stick the mounting template on the wall at the recommended height.

2. Drill 6 holes on the wall according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 on the template.

3. Insert the screw sockets into the drilled holes.

4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and secure it.

5. Follow steps 5 through 11 from the “Installation with a Gang Box” procedure.

The terminals on the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TE are divided into four groups for connecting power, alarms, readers, and door locks.

You must activate the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TE before the first login. You can activate it via the device itself, the SADP tool, or the client software.

Activate via Device:

After activation, you can perform basic setup and operations directly on the terminal.

Set Application and Recognition Mode:

1. On the initial Welcome page, select an application mode: ‘Indoor’ or ‘Others’. Choose ‘Others’ if the device is indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well.

2. Next, select a recognition mode: ‘Normal Mode’ or ‘Deep Mode’. Deep Mode recognizes a wider range of people and is suitable for more complex environments.

3. Tap ‘OK’ to save.

Login:

• For First Login: Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds. Enter the device activation password you created and tap ‘OK’.

• Login by Administrator: If an administrator is added, long tap the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page. Authenticate with the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to access the home page.

Communication Settings:

1. From the Home page, tap ‘Comm.’ (Communication Settings).

2. Tap the ‘Network’ tab to set the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway.

3. Tap the ‘Wi-Fi’ tab to enable Wi-Fi, select a network, and enter the password and network details.

4. Tap the ‘RS-485’ tab to select the connected external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader).

5. Tap the ‘Wiegand’ tab to set the transmission direction (‘Input’ for a reader, ‘Output’ for a controller).

You can add, edit, and manage users directly on the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TE terminal.

Add a User (or Administrator):

1. From the Home page, tap ‘User’ → ‘+’.

2. Edit the Employee ID (up to 32 characters, cannot start with 0).

3. Select a card reader as the beginning of the path in the ‘First Card Reader’ field.

4. In the ‘Card Reader Afterward’ column, click the icon to select the subsequent reader(s) in the path.

5. Click ‘OK’ in the dialog, then click ‘Save’ on the main page to apply the settings.

The client software provides a comprehensive Time & Attendance module for managing schedules, shifts, and reports.

1. Configure Attendance Parameters:

• Go to ‘Attendance Settings’.

• In ‘General Rule’, set the week beginning, month beginning, and weekends.

• In ‘Overtime’, configure overtime levels and work hour rates.

• In ‘Attendance Check Point’, select which card readers on the device will be used for recording attendance.

• Others: If your fingerprint is shallow or you have injuries on the finger, it may be hard to scan. Consider using another finger or authentication method.

Tips for Collecting/Comparing Face Picture:

• Position: The recommended distance between your face and the device is 0.5 meters. Ensure you are not too high, too low, too close, or too far.

• Expression: Keep your expression natural, similar to a passport photo.
