For first-time access, you need to activate your HIKVISION DS-7108HGHI-K1-R by setting an admin password. No operation is allowed before activation. First, power on your device.

7. Click Apply.

To use a patrol:

Select a patrol from the list and click Call. The PTZ camera will move according to the predefined patrol path.

A pattern records the movement path and dwell time of the PTZ camera in a certain position.

To record a pattern:

1. Preview a camera in live view and click the PTZ icon on the shortcut menu.

2. Click the Pattern tab.

3. Select a pattern number.

4. Click Record.

5. Use the direction buttons to move the camera as desired. Adjust zoom and focus.

6. Click Stop Recording. The PTZ camera’s moving path is now recorded as a pattern.

To call a pattern:

Select a pattern from the list and click Call. The PTZ camera will move according to the predefined pattern.

To play back normal recorded videos on your HIKVISION DS-7108HGHI-K1-R, follow these steps:

1. Go to Playback.

1. Click Forgot Password at the password login interface.

2. Follow the wizard to reset your password via the verification code sent to your email.

Properly configure the network settings before operating the device over a network.

1. Go to Configuration → Network → General (in Easy Mode) or Configuration → Network → General → TCP/IP (in Expert Mode).

2. Set the network parameters:

– DHCP: If a DHCP server is available, you can check Enable DHCP to automatically obtain an IP address and other network settings.

– IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway: If not using DHCP, manually enter these values.

4. Optional: Check Stream Encryption. This requires a verification code for remote access.

5. Enter a code in Verification Code. You can click Refresh to generate a random code.

6. Click Apply.

After setup, you can access your recorder via the Guarding Vision app by scanning the QR code to add your device.

Ensure your recorder is on a local network with an SMTP mail server and that network parameters are configured.

1. Go to Configuration → Network → Email.

2. Set the email parameters:

– Server Authentication: (Optional) Check to enable server authentication and enter the User Name and Password for the sender’s email account.

– SSL/TLS: (Optional) Check to enable SSL/TLS if required by the SMTP server.

– SMTP Server/Port: Enter your SMTP server address and port number.

– Sender Name/Address: Enter the sender’s name and email address.

– Select Receiver: Choose a receiver (up to 3 are available).

You can add network cameras manually or by searching for them on the network.

First, Activate the Network Camera:

Only activated cameras can be added. Ensure the camera is on the same network segment.

3. Set a password for the camera. You can check ‘Use Channel Default Password’ to use the recorder’s password, or create a custom one.

Add Network Camera Manually:

1. Go to Configuration → Camera → IP Camera.

2. Click the + (Add) button.

3. Set the network camera parameters, including IP address, protocol, management port, username, and password.

4. Optional: Click Add More to add another camera.

5. Click OK.

Add Automatically Searched Online Camera:

This method works for cameras on the same network segment with the same password as your recorder.

1. Go to Configuration → Camera → IP Camera.

2. The list will show online cameras. Select the desired camera.

3. Click the + (Add) button next to the camera to add it.

You can configure OSD settings such as date format and camera name.

1. Go to Configuration → Camera → OSD (in Easy Mode) or Configuration → Camera → Display → OSD Settings (in Expert Mode).

2. Select a camera.

3. Edit the Camera Name.

4. Check the boxes for Display Name, Display Date, and Display Week as desired.

5. Choose the Date Format, Time Format, and Display Mode.

6. Drag the text frames on the preview window to adjust the OSD position.

7. Click Apply.

Motion detection triggers alarms when moving objects are detected in the monitored area.

1. Go to Configuration → Camera → Smart Event → Motion Detection (in Easy Mode) or Configuration → Event → Normal Event → Motion Detection (in Expert Mode).

4. Click the Area Settings tab. Set the motion detection area:

You can manage how multiple HDDs store video by using Group or Quota mode.

To configure HDD Groups:

This allows you to assign specific cameras to record to a specific HDD group.

1. Go to Configuration → Record → Storage Mode.

2. Select Mode as Group.

3. Select a group number.

4. Check the cameras you want to record to this group.

5. Click Apply and reboot the recorder.

6. After rebooting, go to Configuration → Record → Storage, click the settings icon for each HDD, and assign it to the desired group number.

To configure HDD Quota:

This allows you to allocate a specific amount of storage space for each camera.

1. Go to Configuration → Record → Storage Mode.

2. Select Mode as Quota.

3. Select a camera to set a quota for.

4. Enter the storage capacity in the fields for Max. Record Capacity (GB) and Max. Picture Capacity (GB).

5. Click Apply and reboot the recorder.

You can upgrade the firmware locally from a USB device or online. Do not shut down or turn off the power during the upgrade process.

Local Upgrade:

1. Store the upgrade firmware file on a backup device (like a USB flash drive) and connect it to your recorder.

2. Go to Maintenance.

3. Click the settings icon next to Firmware.

4. Select your backup device in Device Name.

5. Select the upgrade firmware file.

6. Click Upgrade. Your device will reboot automatically after the upgrade.

Online Upgrade:

This requires Guarding Vision to be enabled and configured.

1. Go to Maintenance.

2. Click the ‘+’ icon.

3. Go to Online Upgrade.

4. Click Test Upgrade to manually check for new firmware, or use Auto Download to automatically check and download.

5. If a new firmware version is available, follow the prompts to upgrade your device. It will reboot automatically.

1. Click the bell icon in the upper-right corner of the local menu to enter the alarm center.
