When using your GODOX IT30PRO N, you must follow these basic safety precautions:

1. Carefully read and fully understand the instruction manual before use and strictly follow the safety instructions. Failure to do so may result in serious injury, damage to the product, or other property damage.

2. This product is a professional lighting fixture; children are prohibited from using it. Children must be closely supervised by adults when approaching the fixture to prevent collisions or unauthorized use that could cause personal injury.

3. This is not an ordinary lighting fixture and must not be used for general illumination. Anyone with a history of eye damage or sensitivity should avoid using this fixture or looking directly at it.

4. Extreme caution must be exercised when using it; do not touch high-temperature parts such as flash tubes to avoid burns.

5. Do not point the flash directly at the eyes (especially a baby’s eyes) under any circumstances, as this could impair vision in a short time. Turn off immediately if discomfort occurs, stop using, and seek medical attention promptly.

6. If the flash tube is damaged, stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer, service agent, or qualified repair personnel for a replacement to prevent accidents.

7. Do not use damaged equipment or accessories. Allow professional repair technicians to inspect and confirm normal operation before continuing use after repairs.

8. Stop using immediately if the product shell is cracked due to falling, squeezing, or strong impact, to avoid touching the internal electronic components and getting an electric shock.

9. This device is not waterproof. Keep it dry and avoid immersing it in water or other liquids. It should be installed in a ventilated and dry location and avoid use in rainy, humid, dusty, or overheated environments. Do not place items above the device or allow liquids to flow into it to prevent danger.

10. Do not disassemble without authorization. If the product malfunctions, it must be inspected and repaired by our company or authorized repair personnel.

11. Before storing the device, make sure it is completely cooled, then put it in the protective case or a ventilated dry location.

12. Do not place the device near alcohol, gasoline, or other flammable volatile solvents or gases such as methane and ethane.

13. Do not use or store this device in potentially explosive environments.

16. This product is powered by lithium batteries, which have limited lifespans and will gradually lose their charging capacities. The lifespan is estimated to be 2 to 3 years.

The GODOX IT30PRO N package contains the following items:

Installing: Insert the camera flash into the camera hot shoe base parallelly until it’s firmly locked.

Disassembling: Press and hold the detach button, then take off the flash from the camera hot shoe base parallelly.

Please make sure the flash and camera are powered off before installing and disassembling.

Check the battery level indication on the LCD panel to see the remaining battery level. The meanings are as follows:

The WN Switch controls the flash coverage:

W Mode: The wide-angle diffuser is turned on. The flash range is extended, providing a more uniform flash at a closer distance.

N Mode: When switching to N mode, a relatively high light intensity can be maintained over a long distance compared to W mode to a certain extent.

Power on: Press and hold the power button until the unlock icon appears, then slide right on the screen or rotate the select dial anticlockwise to unlock. The device will turn off automatically if it stays locked for 6 seconds after power on.

Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the screen blacks out.

To enter Wi-Off mode:

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, click the wi-off/sender/receiver icon to choose the Wi-Off icon and enter wi-off mode.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button to enter the menu interface, rotate the select dial to choose the wi-off/sender/receiver icon, then press the SET button to choose the Wi-Off icon and enter wi-off mode.

In TTL mode, the camera’s metering system detects the flash reflected from the subject and automatically adjusts the flash output.

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, click the M/Multi/TTL icon to choose and enter TTL auto flash mode. Press the – or + icon to adjust the Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC) amount among ±3 with ±1/3 increment each step, or directly pull the progress bar to achieve quick adjustment.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button to enter the menu interface, rotate the select dial to choose the M/Multi/TTL icon, then press the SET button to choose . Rotate the select dial to adjust the FEC amount among ±3 with ±1/3 increment each step. Quick adjustment is also available by fast rotation.

When the shutter is fully pressed, the flash will fire a pre-flash that the camera will use to calculate exposure and flash output the instant before the photo is taken.

The flash output is adjustable from 1/128 to 1/1 with 1/3 increment each step.

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, click the M/Multi/TTL icon to choose and enter M manual flash mode. Press the – or + icon to adjust the power with ±1/3 increment each step, or directly pull the progress bar for quick adjustment.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button to enter the menu interface, rotate the select dial to choose the M/Multi/TTL icon, then press the SET button to choose . Rotate the select dial to adjust the power with ±1/3 increment each step. Quick adjustment is also available by fast rotation.

The photocell triggering is only available in M manual flash mode. You can enter the setting interface to switch between S1/S2 or turn off this function.

S1 Photocell Unit Setting: In M manual flash mode, the flash can function as an optic S1 secondary flash. With this function, the flash will fire synchronously when the main flash fires, creating multiple lighting effects.

S2 Photocell Unit Setting: In M manual flash mode, the flash can also function as an optic S2 secondary flash. This is useful when cameras have a pre-flash function. The flash will ignore a single “pre-flash” from the main flash and will only fire in response to the second, actual flash.

With a slow shutter speed in multi flash mode, a rapid series of flashes is fired to capture multiple images of a moving subject. You can set the flash frequency (Hz), the number of flashes, and the flash output.

Flash output range: 1/128-1/4

Number of flashes: 1-100

Flash frequency: 1-100

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to the menu, click the M/Multi/TTL icon to choose . Press the – or + icon to adjust flash power. Press the upper number icon to enter the adjustment interface for the number of flashes and frequency. Slide the numbers to adjust.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button, rotate the dial to choose the M/Multi/TTL icon, and press SET to choose . Directly rotate the select dial to adjust flash power. Press the SET button to choose the upper icons for number of flashes or frequency, then rotate the select dial to adjust the parameters.

During multi flash, the shutter remains open until the firing stops. Use the formula below to calculate the shutter speed and set it with the camera:

Number of Flashes ÷ Flash Frequency = Shutter Speed

For example, if the number of flashes is 10 and the flash frequency is 5Hz, the shutter speed should be at least 2 seconds.

To avoid overheating, do not use multi flash more than 10 times in succession. After 10 times, allow the camera flash to rest for at least 15 minutes.

To enter Sender mode:

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu, click the wi-off/sender/receiver icon and choose the Sender icon.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press MENU, rotate the dial to choose the wi-off/sender/receiver icon, and press SET to select the Sender icon.

To control groups (Gr):

Groups: M, A, B, C

Flash Modes: TTL auto flash mode / M manual flash mode

Touch Screen: In the menu, click the Gr/Multi icon to choose . Slide the screen up to enter the Gr interface. Press and hold a group box to switch among M (manual) flash, TTL auto flash, and OFF. If the value is white, the group is in M mode. If green, it’s in TTL mode. Adjust power/compensation with the – or + icons or by pulling the progress bar.

Buttons and Select Dial: In the menu, choose the Gr/Multi icon and press SET to select . Press MENU to enter the Gr interface. Rotate the dial to choose a group, press and hold SET to switch among M, TTL, and OFF. Then press SET to enter group settings and rotate the dial to adjust flash power/compensation.

To enter Receiver mode:

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, click the wi-off/sender/receiver icon to choose the Receiver icon.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button, rotate the select dial to choose the wi-off/sender/receiver icon, and press the SET button to select the Receiver icon.

High speed sync (FP flash) enables the flash to synchronize with all camera shutter speeds.

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, click the High-speed sync icon to turn it on or off.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button, rotate the select dial to choose the High-speed sync icon, then press the SET button to turn it on or off.

Note: The minimal flash power is 1/16 in HSS mode. When using a Nikon camera with the GODOX IT30PRO N, HSS is on by default at high shutter speeds and off at low shutter speeds.

With a slow shutter speed and second-curtain sync, you can create a light train following the subject as the flash fires right before the shutter closes.

For the GODOX IT30PRO N, press the sync button on your Nikon camera and rotate the dial until the rear-curtain sync icon appears on the control panel, then set the camera shutter.

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface and click the screen lock icon to turn on the function. Press and hold the screen for 2s to unlock.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button, rotate the select dial to choose the screen lock icon, then press the SET button to turn on the function. Press and hold the SET button for 2s to unlock.

Accessing Wireless Settings:

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, then click the wireless icon.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press MENU, rotate the dial to the wireless icon, and press SET.

Channel Settings (01-32):

The channels of the sender and receiver units must be set to the same to avoid interference.

Touch Screen: Slide the “Channel” box to choose your desired channel.

Buttons and Select Dial: Rotate the dial to “Channel”, press SET, rotate the dial to select a channel, and press SET to exit.

ID Settings (OFF/01-99):

Change the wireless ID to avoid interference; it can only be triggered when sender and receiver IDs match.

Touch Screen: Slide the “ID” box to turn it off or choose your desired ID.

Buttons and Select Dial: Rotate the dial to “ID”, press SET, rotate the dial to select an ID, press SET, then press the set button to exit.

The wireless sync function helps the sender and receiver to quickly set the same channel and ID.

As a Receiver:

1. Set the GODOX IT30PRO N to sender mode. Assume a retro camera flash Lux Master is the receiver.

2. Touch Screen: Click the “SYNC” icon on both the GODOX IT30PRO N and Lux Master.

As a Sender:

1. Set the GODOX IT30PRO N to receiver mode. Assume a flash trigger X3 is the sender.

2. Touch Screen: Click the “SYNC” icon on both the GODOX IT30PRO N and X3.

When both the sender and receiver unit are GODOX IT30PRO N units, wireless sync is also available.

Touch Screen: Slide the screen top-down to enter the menu interface, click the C.Fn settings icon.

Buttons and Select Dial: Press the MENU button, rotate the dial to choose the C.Fn settings icon, then press the SET button to enter.

This explains how to perform wireless multiple shooting with 2.4G wireless transmission using the GODOX IT30PRO N as the sender unit and Godox flashes with 2.4G wireless receiving function as the receiver unit. The channel, group, and ID of the sender and receiver units should be set to the same.

TTL Auto Flash Mode:

Set the flash groups (A, B and C) of the GODOX IT30PRO N (sender unit) to . There is no need to set the receiver units; they will perform wireless multiple flash shooting in auto flash and follow the FEB value set on the sender unit.

M Manual Flash Mode:

Set the flash groups (A, B and C) of the GODOX IT30PRO N (sender unit) to either the same or different flash output power. There is no need to set the receiver units; they will perform wireless multiple flash shooting by following the sender.

Different Flash Modes:

Set the flash groups (A, B and C) of the GODOX IT30PRO N (sender unit) as different flash modes. There is no need to set the receiver units; they will perform wireless multiple flash shooting in their respective assigned modes.

Multi Flash Mode:

Set the GODOX IT30PRO N (sender unit) to multi flash mode. Set the flash output value, number of flashes, and flash frequency on the sender unit. The receiver units will follow the sender.

To avoid overheating and deteriorating the flash head, do not fire more continuous flashes than specified below in fast succession. If you do, the inner over-temperature protection function may be activated, increasing the recycle time to over 10 seconds. If this occurs, allow a rest time of about 10 minutes, and the flash unit will return to normal. When protection is started, an icon is shown on the LCD display.

If your GODOX IT30PRO N is not triggering, check the following reasons and solutions:

1. Disturbance by the 2.4G signal in the outer environment (e.g., wireless base station, 2.4G wifi router, Bluetooth, etc.).

-> To adjust the channel CH setting on the flash trigger (add 10+ channels) and use the channel which is not disturbed. Or turn off the other 2.4G equipment in working.

2. The flash has not finished its recycle or caught up with the continuous shooting speed, or it is in a state of over-heat protection.

-> Please downgrade the flash power output. If the flash is in TTL mode, please try to change it to M mode (a pre-flash is needed in TTL mode).

3. The distance between the flash trigger and the flash is too close (<0.5m).

-> Please turn on the “close distance wireless mode”:

X1 Series: Press and hold the triggering button then turn on the device until the indicator blinks twice.

Xpro and X2T Series: Set the C.Fn-DIST to 0-30m.

X3 Series: Set the triggering distance to 0-30m.

4. The flash trigger and the receiver end equipment are in low battery states.

-> Please replace the battery or charge it in time.

5. The flash trigger’s firmware is an older version.

-> Please upgrade the firmware of the flash trigger referring to the instruction manual for specific firmware upgrades.

6. The camera’s firmware is an older version.

-> Please upgrade the firmware of the camera referring to its instruction manual.

If your camera flash does not fire, try the following:

• Attach the camera’s mounting foot securely to the camera.

• If the electrical contacts of the camera flash and camera are dirty, clean the contacts with a dry cloth.

• If the ready icon is not displayed in the camera’s view finder, wait until the flash is fully recycled and the flash ready indicator lights up.

• If the flash ready indicator does not light up after a long wait, check whether the battery power is enough. If the battery power is low, please replace or charge the battery immediately.

If the power turns off by itself:

• When set to wi-off/sender mode with the standby function on, the flash will enter sleep mode automatically after 90 seconds of idle use. Press the camera shutter halfway or press any button to wake up the flash unit.

• When set to wi-off/sender mode with the standby function off but the auto off function on, the flash will automatically shut down after 60 minutes (or 30, 90 minutes) of idle use. Restart the flash unit.

• When set to receiver mode with the auto off function on, the flash will automatically shut down after 60 minutes (or 30, 90 minutes) of idle use. Restart the flash unit.

If the flash exposure is incorrect:

• You used high-speed sync. With high-speed sync, the effective flash range will be shorter. Make sure the subject is within the effective flash range displayed.

• The subject appears too dark or too bright. Set the proper FEC (Flash Exposure Compensation) value.

This product supports firmware upgrade through the USB-C port. Please use a USB-C cable (sold separately).

As the firmware upgrade needs the support of Godox G3 V1.1 software, please download and install the “Godox G3 V1.1 firmware upgrade software” before upgrading. Then, choose the related firmware file.
