The GODOX AD100PRO offers the following features:

Please adhere to the following safety warnings when using the GODOX AD100PRO:

• Always keep this product dry. Do not use in rain or in damp conditions.

• Do not disassemble. If repairs are necessary, this product must be sent to an authorized maintenance center.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Stop using this product if it breaks open due to extrusion, falling, or a strong hit. Otherwise, an electric shock may occur if you touch the electronic parts inside it.

• Do not fire the flash directly into the eyes (especially those of babies) within short distances, as this may cause visual impairment.

• Do not use the flash unit in the presence of flammable gases, chemicals, and other similar materials. These materials may be sensitive to the strong light, which could result in fire or electromagnetic interference.

• Do not leave or store the flash unit if the ambient temperature is over 50°C, as the electronic parts may be damaged.

• Turn off the flash unit immediately in the event of a malfunction.

CAUTION: Hot parts! Do not touch the inside of the flash head and the silver metal part of the product head when the LED light and flash are working. When replacing the flash accessory, please turn off the flash first to allow it to cool down.

The GODOX AD100PRO package contains the following items:

Please follow these cautions when handling the lithium battery:

• Do not short circuit.

• Do not expose to rain or immerse in water. This battery is not waterproof.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not engage in over 24 hours of continuous charging.

• Store in dry, cool, ventilated places.

• Do not put aside or into fire.

• Dead batteries should be disposed of according to local regulations.

• If the battery has not been used for a long time, please charge it to 60% and then store it.

• It is recommended to fully recharge the battery every three months.

Installation

1. Aim the battery into the battery compartment of the flash.

2. Insert the battery into the compartment until you hear a click sound. The battery is successfully installed when the battery release button slides to the right automatically. If you hear a “click” but the button only slides to the middle, the battery is not installed correctly. Push the battery again until the release button slides fully to the right.

Detachment

Push the battery release button to the left until the battery pops out. Be sure to catch the battery with your hands to prevent it from falling.

Ensure the battery pack is securely loaded in the flash. Check the battery level indication on the OLED panel to see the remaining battery level. The meanings are as follows:

Blank grid	Lower battery, please recharge it.
Blinking	The battery level is about to be depleted. The flash will auto power off in 1 minute. Please recharge the battery as soon as possible (within 10 days).

The ON/OFF Power Switch controls the power of the flash unit. If the flash unit will not be used for an extended period, it’s recommended to turn it off. The product features an automatic power-off function. After a long period of unattended operation (approx. 30/60/90 minutes), the flash will automatically power off. To wake it up, press the power switch. When the unlock icon appears, turn the select dial to operate. This Auto Power Off function can be disabled in the custom functions menu (C.Fn – STBY), which is recommended when using the flash off-camera.

1. Power on/off the modeling lamp: Short press the modeling lamp button (<☼>) to turn it on or off.

2. Setting: Long press the modeling lamp button (<☼>) to enter the modeling lamp setting menu.

2.1 Brightness setting: Turn the select dial to change the brightness value from level 1 to 10.

The GODOX AD100PRO can only be set as a receiver unit. Press the MENU button to enter C.Fn-WL to switch the radio transmission function ON or OFF.

The GODOX AD100PRO has three flash modes: TTL (Autoflash), M (Manual), and Multi (Stroboscopic). Press the <MODE> button to cycle through these three modes on the OLED panel.

TTL Autoflash: In TTL mode, the camera and flash work together to calculate the correct exposure. To enter this mode, press the <MODE> button until <TTL> is displayed.

M: Manual Flash: In Manual mode, you can set the flash output from 1/1 full power to 1/256. To enter this mode, press the <MODE> button until <M> is displayed. To adjust the output, either turn the Select Dial directly or press the SET button and then turn the Select Dial.

Multi: Stroboscopic Flash: This mode fires a rapid series of flashes to capture multiple images of a moving subject in one photo. You can set the frequency (Hz), number of flashes, and flash output.

High-Speed Sync (FP flash) allows the flash to synchronize with all camera shutter speeds, which is useful for fill-flash portraits with a wide aperture.

1. Long press the High-speed Switch button for 2 seconds so that the High-Speed Sync icon is displayed on the panel.

2. Please use an X2 series transmitter to trigger the flash in HSS mode.

Note:

• With high-speed sync, a faster shutter speed results in a shorter effective flash range.

• Multi flash mode cannot be set in high-speed sync mode.

• Over-temperature protection may be activated after 60 consecutive high-speed sync flashes.

The S1 and S2 optical slave modes are only available in M (Manual) flash mode.

Optic S1 Secondary Unit Setting:

In M manual flash mode, press the <MENU> button to enter C.FN-PHOTOC and choose the S1 function. In this mode, the GODOX AD100PRO will fire synchronously when the main flash fires. This has the same effect as using radio triggers and helps create multiple lighting effects.

Optic S2 Secondary Unit Setting:

Press the <MENU> button to enter C.FN-PHOTOC and choose the S2 function. This mode is useful when the main flash uses a pre-flash function (like TTL). The GODOX AD100PRO will ignore the single “preflash” from the main flash and will only fire in response to the second, actual flash.

1. Press the <MODE> button until <MULTI> is displayed.

2. Turn the Select Dial to choose the desired flash output.

3. Press the <SET> button to select the flash frequency. Turn the Select Dial to set the number (Hz).

4. Press the <SET> button again to select the number of flashes. Turn the Select Dial to set the number.

5. After finishing the settings, press the <SET> button to confirm and all settings will be displayed.

During stroboscopic flash, the shutter remains open until the firing stops. Use the following formula to calculate the required shutter speed and set it on your camera:

Number of Flashes / Flash Frequency = Shutter Speed

For example, if the number of flashes is 10 and the firing frequency is 5 Hz, the shutter speed should be at least 2 seconds.

Important Notes:

• To avoid overheating and deteriorating the flash head, do not use stroboscopic flash more than 10 times in succession. After 10 times, allow the flash to rest for at least 15 minutes.

• Stroboscopic flash is most effective with a highly reflective subject against a dark background.

• A flash output of 1/1 and 1/2 cannot be set for stroboscopic flash.

• If the number of flashes is displayed as “–“, the firing will continue until the shutter closes or the battery is exhausted.

The number of flashes will be limited as shown by the following table:

The GODOX AD100PRO uses the Godox 2.4G wireless X system and functions as a receiver unit.

1. Wireless Settings: Press the wireless selection button to turn the wireless function ON or OFF. When ON, the wireless icon will be displayed on the OLED panel.

2. Setting the Communication Channel: If other wireless flash systems are nearby, change the channel to prevent interference. Long press the <GR/CH> button for 2 seconds. Turn the SET Select Dial to choose a channel ID from 1 to 32. Press the <SET> button to confirm. The channel of the master and receiver unit(s) must be the same.

3. Setting the Communication Group: Short press the <GR/CH> button to choose a group ID from A to E.

4. Wireless ID Settings: To avoid interference, you can set the wireless ID. Press the MENU button to enter C.Fn-ID and choose OFF or any figure from 01-99. This can only be used when the master unit also has the wireless ID function.

If you are experiencing triggering issues, try the following solutions:

1. 2.4G Signal Interference: If you are in an environment with other 2.4G signals (e.g., wireless base station, Wi-Fi router, Bluetooth), adjust the channel (CH) setting on the flash trigger to a channel that is not disturbed (try adding 10+ channels). Alternatively, turn off other 2.4G equipment.

2. Flash Recycle Status: Ensure the flash has finished recycling (the flash ready indicator is lit) and is not in an over-heat protection state. If shooting continuously, try downgrading the flash power output. If the flash is in TTL mode, try changing it to M mode.

3. Distance Between Trigger and Flash: If the trigger and flash are too close (<0.5m), turn on the “close distance wireless mode” on the flash trigger.
• For X1 & X2 series triggers: Press and hold the test button, then turn the trigger on until the flash ready indicator blinks for 2 times.
• For XPro series triggers: Set C.Fn-DIST to 0-30m.

4. Low Battery: Check if the flash trigger and the GODOX AD100PRO are in low battery states. Replace the batteries if necessary. For the flash trigger, it is recommended to use 1.5V disposable alkaline batteries.

1. Press the <MENU> button to enter the C.Fn menu.

2. Turn the SET Selection Dial to select the custom function number.

3. Press the <SET> button; the Setting No. will blink.

4. Turn the SET Select Dial to set the desired number. Press the <SET> button to confirm the settings.

5. Press the <MENU> button to exit the C.Fn menu.

The system provides real-time protection. The following prompts indicate specific issues:

Prompts on LCD Panel	Meaning
E1	A failure has occurred in the recycling system, so the flash cannot fire. Please restart the flash unit. If the problem persists, send the product to a maintenance center.
E2	The system is experiencing excessive heat. Please allow a rest time of 10 minutes.
E3	The voltage on two outlets of the flash tube is too high. Please send this product to a maintenance center.
E9	Some errors occurred during the upgrading process. Please use the correct firmware upgrade method.

Additionally, if the over-temperature protection is activated, an icon will be shown on the display. When the recycle time is over 10 seconds in this state, allow a rest time of at least 10 minutes for the flash to return to normal.

• The GODOX AD100PRO has a Type-C USB port for firmware upgrades. A Type-C USB connection line is required (not included).

• As the firmware upgrade needs the support of Godox G3 software, please download and install the “Godox G3 firmware upgrade software” before upgrading. Then, choose the related firmware file.

• Since the product requires a firmware upgrade, please refer to the instruction manual of the newest electronic version as final.

• Shut down the device immediately if abnormal operation is detected.

• Avoid sudden impacts and ensure the product is dedusted regularly.

• It is normal for the flash tube to be warm when in use. Avoid continuous flashes if unnecessary.

• Maintenance of the flash must be performed by an authorized maintenance department, which can provide original accessories.

• Unauthorized service will void the warranty.

• If the product has had failures or was wetted, do not use it until it is repaired by professionals.

• Changes made to the specifications or designs may not be reflected in this manual.

• It is normal if the flash smells in non-firing situations.
