All units are configured for vertical upflow only. The DURASTAR DRF2TA2421ASTNJB3 cannot be installed in any other configuration.

Airflow performance data is based on cooling performance with a coil and no filter in place. For optimum blower performance, operate the unit in the .3 [8 mm] to .7 inches [18 mm] W.C. external static range. Units with coils should be applied with a minimum of .1 inch [3 mm] W.C. external static range. Ensure the external static applied to the unit allows operation within the minimum and maximum limits shown in the Airflow Operating Limits table.

The unit uses a 10×6 1/3 Hp, 2-speed dual voltage motor. The performance data at various external static pressures is as follows:

The DURASTAR DRF2TA2421ASTNJB3 air handler has a 5-speed constant torque motor with specific configurations for each speed tap:

• Speed tap 1 is for continuous fan. The airflow for continuous fan is always set at 50% of the speed tap 4 airflow.

• Speed tap 2 (low static) and speed tap 3 (high static) are for lower tonnage applications (1.5 or 2.5 tons).

• Speed tap 4 (low static) and speed tap 5 (high static) are for higher tonnage applications (2.0 or 3.0 tons).

The unit is always shipped from the factory at speed tap 5.

The low static speed taps (2 and 4) are for external static pressures below 0.5″ WC. The high static speed taps (3 and 5) are used for external static exceeding 0.5″ WC. To change the speed, move the blue wire to the appropriate speed tap on the motor terminal block as required by the application.

Installation of U.L. Listed original equipment manufacturer provided heater kits is recommended for all auxiliary heating requirements. The specifications for compatible heater kits are below.

Notes:

• Electric heater BTUH = (heater watts + motor watts) x 3.414.

• J voltage (230V) single phase air handler is designed to be used with single or three phase.

• Supply circuit protective devices may be fused or “HACR” type circuit breakers.

• If non-standard fuse size is specified, use next size larger standard fuse size. Without the heater, bring only two leads to terminal block, cap, insulate and fully secure the third lead.

• Largest motor load is included in single circuit or circuit 1 of multiple circuits.

• Do not use 480 volts electrical heaters on 230 volts air handler.

• Field wiring must comply with the National Electrical Code.

• This product must be sufficiently grounded in accordance with (C.E.C. in Canada) and any applicable local ordinance.

• Supply wiring must be 75°C minimum copper conductors only.

• A grounding lug is provided.

The following accessories and kits are available for the DURASTAR DRF2TA2421ASTNJB3:

• Drain Pan Over Flow Switch RXHK-A01: This switch detects condensate drain blockage and shuts down the outdoor unit to prevent structural damage.

• Bottom Return Conversion Kit RXHK-B01: Used to divert the return air from the factory standard front return to a bottom return.

• Louvered Cabinet Grill RXHK-C01: A decorative grill that covers the return air opening of the front return air handler.

• Decorative Wall Grill RXHK-D01: Used in applications where the air handler is installed in a closet or interior wall to allow adequate return air back to the unit. The dimensions are 23 3/4″ [603 mm] to 24″ [610 mm] O.C. for D01 and 26 5/8″ [676 mm] width for D01.
