The DURASTAR DRF2TA2421ASTNJN0F air handler features a Constant Torque Motor (ECM), Two-Stage Airflow, and a Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV). It is designed for efficiencies ranging from 13.4 to 14.3 SEER2.

The standard equipment includes:

For optimum blower performance, operate the unit in the .3 to .7 inches W.C. external static range. Units with coils should be applied with a minimum of .1 inch W.C. external static range.

The DURASTAR DRF2TA2421ASTNJN0F air handler has a 5-speed constant torque motor. The correct speed tap is selected based on the application’s tonnage and external static pressure.

• Speed tap 1 is for continuous fan operation. The airflow for the continuous fan is always set at 50% of the speed tap 4 airflow.

• Speed tap 2 (low static) and speed tap 3 (high static) are for lower tonnage applications (1.5 tons).

• Speed tap 4 (low static) and speed tap 5 (high static) are for higher tonnage applications (2.0 tons).

• The unit is shipped from the factory set to speed tap 5.

• Use a low static speed tap (2 or 4) for external static pressures below 0.5″ WC.

• Use a high static speed tap (3 or 5) for external static pressures exceeding 0.5″ WC.

To change the setting, move the blue wire to the appropriate speed tap on the motor terminal block as required by your application.

*Blower motors are all single phase motors.

Follow these guidelines for power wiring and grounding:

• Field wiring must comply with the National Electrical Code.

• This product must be sufficiently grounded in accordance with (C.E.C. in Canada) and any applicable local ordinance.

• Supply wiring must be 75°C minimum copper conductors only, in accordance with local ordinances.

• See electrical data for product Ampacity rating and Circuit Protector requirement.

• A grounding lug is provided.

• Supply circuit protective devices may be fused or “HACR” type circuit breakers.

• If a non-standard fuse size is specified, use the next size larger standard fuse size.

The Drain Pan Overflow Switch Kit RXHK-A01 is an accessory used to detect a condensate drain blockage. If a blockage is detected, the switch will shut down the outdoor unit to prevent structural damage to the surrounding structures of the air handler from overflowing water.

To convert the air handler from the factory standard front return to a bottom return configuration, use the Bottom Return Conversion Kit RXHK-B01. This kit is used to divert the return air to the bottom of the unit.

The Louvered Cabinet Grill Kit RXHK-C01 is used as a decorative grill that covers the return air opening of the front return air handler.

The Decorative Wall Grill Kit RXHK-D01 is used in applications where the air handler is installed in a closet or interior wall. It allows for adequate return air back to the unit. Refer to the kit’s installation instructions for complete dimensional information when selecting a decorative wall grill.
