• Do not place a burner or heater in a place directly exposed to the airstream from the unit.

• Do not wash the air conditioner with water.

• Do not install the unit in an area where flammable gas may be present.

• Avoid prolonged exposure of your body to direct streams of cold air.

• The refrigerant used is R32. Do not charge R32 into systems not designated for it, use specific oils and reclaim cylinders for R32, and do not use unspecified pipe work.

No, never operate the air conditioner without the return air filter(s) in place. Operating the TCL TCD85D1HWH-DV without the filter(s) will allow dust to enter the indoor unit and build up on the heat exchanger coil and fan motor. • A “shuh” sound heard at the start or end of an operation or DEFROST cycle is the noise of refrigerant stopping or changing direction.

If your system does not operate, please check the following:

• Check if there is a power failure. Wait until power is restored. The system may automatically restart when power returns.

• Check if a fuse has blown or a circuit breaker has tripped. Please contact and notify qualified technicians to check.

If the system stops after a period of operation, investigate the following:

• Check if the air inlet or outlet of the outdoor or indoor unit is blocked by obstacles. Remove any obstacles to ensure it is well-ventilated.

• Check if the air filter is clogged. Clean the air filter(s) as per maintenance instructions.

If your system is not cooling or heating properly, check these points:

• Check if the air inlet or outlet of the indoor or outdoor unit is blocked by obstacles and remove them.

• Check if the air filter is clogged and clean it.

• Check if the set temperature is within a comfortable range.

• Check if the FAN SPEED CONTROL button is set to high. If you normally use low fan speed, ensure the air filter is clean.

• Check if doors or windows are open. Shut them to prevent outside air from coming in.

• Check for direct sunlight entering the room (when cooling) and use curtains or blinds.

• Check for too many occupants or an excessive heat source in the room (when cooling), as this increases the heat gain.

When starting the unit after a long stop, confirm the following:

• Check that the air inlet and outlet are not blocked. Remove any obstacles.

• Clean the air filter(s) and make sure to reattach them.

• To protect the unit, turn on the main power supply switch at least 6 hours before operation.

To stop the system for a long period:

• Turn on FAN OPERATION for half a day to dry the unit.

• Cut off the power supply at the main switch to save energy. The display on the wired controller will vanish when the power is off.

• Ensure the drain piping from the indoor unit is free of blockage.

IMPORTANT! NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS ARE INSIDE THE AIR CONDITIONER. DO NOT REMOVE ANY ACCESS PANELS OR FIXED COVERS.

• Before cleaning, be sure to stop the operation and turn the power switch off to prevent electric shock and injury.

• Do not wash the indoor unit with water.

• Exercise caution when working at a height.

CLEANING THE AIR FILTER(s)

• Always clean the air filter(s) before use at the beginning of summer and winter.

• In locations where dirt accumulates easily, clean the filter(s) more frequently; once every 2 weeks is recommended.

NOTE: The air filter(s) and suction grille(s) are supplied by your dealer. Ask your dealer how to clean them.

HOW TO CLEAN AIR OUTLET GRILLE

• Clean with a soft cloth. For difficult stains, use water or a neutral detergent.

NOTE: Do not use gasoline, benzene, thinner, polishing powder, or liquid insecticide as it may cause discolouring or warping. Do not let the indoor unit get wet.

In the unlikely event of a fault, the microprocessor in the indoor and outdoor units will diagnose it and display a unique 2-digit fault code (e.g., E0) on the LCD screen. If this occurs, write down the fault code, switch off the unit, and contact your installer. This code will help the installer/repairer identify the problem.

This is a normal function. You need to wait one minute until the microcomputer is prepared for operation.

This is normal. It happens when the room temperature has reached the set temperature. The indoor unit will then switch to fan operation.

This can occur when the system reverts to HEATING OPERATION after a DEFROST OPERATION cycle. The moisture generated by the defrost process becomes steam and is discharged as a white mist.
