To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, serious injury or death to persons when using the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG, follow these basic precautions:

• Read all instructions before using tumbler.

• DO NOT tamper with controls.

• DO NOT bypass any safety devices.

• Always follow the fabric care instructions supplied by the garment manufacturer.

• Remove laundry immediately after the tumbler stops.

• DO NOT reach into tumbler if cylinder is revolving.

To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, serious injury or death, do not operate the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG if it does not perform according to the instructions. Immediately disconnect electrical service, shut off gas supply and contact an authorized service representative. Service and repairs are to be performed by authorized service representatives only.

To avoid creating any flammable vapors which may explode, ignite or cause corrosive damage, DO NOT dry the following materials in the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG:

• Articles that have been cleaned in, soaked in, washed in or spotted with gasoline, dry cleaning solvents or other flammable/explosive substances.

• Plastics or articles containing foam rubber or similarly textured rubberlike materials.

• Articles that have traces of flammable substances like cooking oil, machine oil, flammable chemicals or thinner.

• Articles containing wax or cleaning chemicals.

• Fiberglass curtains or draperies (unless the label says it can be done).

To reduce the risk of serious injury, install lockable door(s) to prevent public access to the rear of the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG tumbler.

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, serious injury or death to persons when using your SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG dryer, follow these basic precautions:

1. Do not allow children to play on or in the tumbler. Close supervision of children is necessary when the tumbler is used near children. This is a safety rule for all appliances.

2. Before the tumbler is removed from service or discarded, remove the door to the drying compartment.

3. Do not install or store the tumbler where it will be exposed to water and/or weather.

4. Failure to install, maintain, and/or operate this machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions may result in conditions which can produce serious injury, death and/or property damage.

5. Run tumbler with a load before putting tumbler into service.

6. Always disconnect the electrical power to the tumbler before servicing. Disconnect power by shutting off appropriate circuit breaker or fuse and by turning off the disconnect switch located on the rear of the tumbler.

7. All manually operated models are factory-equipped with an emergency stop button located on the front panel. If the emergency stop function is desired on coin-operated models, an external emergency stop switch may be installed as specified on the machine wiring diagram.

Activation of the emergency stop switch stops all machine control circuit functions, but does not remove all electrical power from the machine.

The following warning labels will be found on the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG drying tumbler:

• A clothes dryer produces combustible lint. TUMBLER MUST BE EXHAUSTED OUTDOORS.

• Do not touch rotating parts.

• Do not touch surface until it has cooled.

• WARNING!

• Do not operate without guards in place.

• Disconnect electrical power before servicing.

• To reduce risk of accumulating unsafe concentrations of combustion gases, tumbler MUST BE EXHAUSTED OUTDOORS.

A general warning label includes the following points:

– DO NOT put articles soiled with flammable liquids or flammable cleaning solvents in dryer.

– DO NOT store or use flammable liquids near this appliance.

– DO NOT spray or store aerosols in the vicinity of this appliance.

– Dryer must be exhausted outdoors, and area around dryer must be free of lint because dryer produces combustible lint.

– DO NOT dry articles containing foam rubber, plastic or similarly textured rubberlike materials.

– Use for drying water washed fabrics only.

– DO NOT put articles soiled with vegetable or cooking oil in dryer as these oils may not be removed during washing. Due to the remaining oil, the fabric may catch on fire by itself.

– DO NOT reach into the dryer until all moving parts have stopped.

– DO NOT let children play in the dryer.

The model and serial numbers for your SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG will be found on the nameplate located on the rear of the tumbler or underneath the door hinge.

Upon delivery, visually inspect the crate carton and parts for any visible shipping damage. If the crate, carton, or cover are damaged or show signs of possible damage, have the carrier note the condition on the shipping papers before signing the shipping receipt, or advise the carrier of the condition as soon as it is discovered.

Remove the crate and protective cover as soon as possible and check the items listed on the packing list.

Advise the carrier of any damaged or missing articles as soon as possible. A written claim should be filed with the carrier immediately if articles are damaged or missing.

IMPORTANT: Remove shipping tape from the two back draft dampers located in the exhaust thimble.

The following materials should be obtained locally:

For all drying tumblers:

• One circuit breaker.

For Gas Drying Tumblers Only:

• One gas shut-off valve for the gas service line to each tumbler.

FLOOR

The SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG drying tumbler may be installed on any level floor capable of supporting 100 pounds per square foot (488 kg/m²). Floor covering materials such as carpeting or tile should be removed.

LAYOUT

Whenever possible, the tumbler should be installed along an outside wall where duct length can be kept to a minimum, and make-up air can be easily accessed. Construction must not block airflow at the top rear of the tumbler, as doing so would prevent adequate air supply to the tumbler’s combustion chamber.

VENTING

For maximum efficiency and minimum lint accumulation, tumbler air must be exhausted to the outdoors by the shortest possible route.

Proper sized exhaust ducts are essential for proper operation. All elbows should be sweep type. Do not install elbows with a radius less than shown in the table in the manual. Exhaust ducts must be assembled so interior surfaces are smooth to reduce the accumulation of lint. Do not use sheet metal screws to join vent sections.

Exhaust ducts shall be constructed of sheet metal or other noncombustible material. Such ducts must be equivalent in strength and corrosion resistance to ducts made of galvanized sheet steel not less than 0.0195 inches (0.495 mm) thick.

Where an exhaust duct pierces a combustible wall or ceiling, an opening having a diameter of 4 inches (10.2 cm) larger than the diameter of the exhaust duct shall be provided, with the duct centered in the opening. When ducts pass through walls, ceilings, floors, or partitions, the space around the duct shall be sealed with non-combustible material.

With the tumbler in operation, airflow at any point in the duct must be at least 1200 feet (366 m) per minute to ensure that lint remains airborne.

For maximum efficiency and performance, it is preferred to exhaust the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG individually to the outdoors. At no point may the cross area of installed venting be less than the cross area of the exhaust thimble of the tumbler.

The maximum allowable length of venting is 14 feet (4.3 m) and two 90° elbows or equivalent. If the equivalent length of a duct required for an installation exceeds the maximum allowable equivalent length, the diameter of a round duct must be increased by 10% for each additional 20 feet (6.1 m). The cross-section area of a rectangular duct must be increased by 20% for each additional 20 feet (6.1 m).

The table below shows how to determine equivalent venting:

While it is preferable to exhaust tumblers individually to outdoors, a main collector duct may be used if it is sized properly. This should be increased if the collector length exceeds 20 feet (6.1 m).

The collector duct may be rectangular in cross-section, as long as the area is not reduced. Provisions should be made for lint removal and cleaning of the collector duct.

The collector duct must be tapered. Individual tumbler ducts must enter the collector duct at a 45° angle in the direction of air flow. Never connect a tumbler duct at a 90° angle to the collector duct. Doing so will cause excessive back pressure, resulting in poor performance. Never connect two tumbler exhaust ducts directly across from each other at the point of entry to the collector duct.

The collector system must be designed so static back pressure measured 12 inches (30.5 cm) from the exhaust thimble does not exceed the maximum allowable pressure specified on the installation sticker on the rear of the tumbler. This should be measured with all tumblers running that are vented into the collector.

The SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG is a forced air exhausted tumbler and requires provisions for make-up air to replace the air exhausted by the tumbler.

The manufacturer’s recommended make-up air opening for each tumbler is 144 square inches (928 sq. cm). At a minimum, tumblers must have at least 1 sq. in. (2.54 sq. cm) of opening for every 1000 BTU/hr (252 Kcal/hr) of input rating for proper combustion.

Protective louvers in the opening to the outdoors can reduce air movement by approximately 40%. The opening must compensate for the area taken up by louvers.

Make-up air openings for a room containing tumbler(s) and/or gas-fired hot water heaters or other gravity-vented appliances must be increased sufficiently to prevent downdrafts in any vents when all tumblers are in operation. Do not locate gravity-vented appliances between the tumbler(s) and make-up air openings. If it is necessary to duct make-up air to the tumbler(s), increase the area of the work by 25% to compensate for any restriction in air movement.

Solvent Gases: Solvent gases and vapors from dry cleaning machines create acids when drawn through the heater of a drying tumbler. These acids are corrosive to the drying tumbler as well as to the laundry load being dried. Be sure make-up air is free of solvent gases and vapors. If the dry cleaning machines are in the same area as the tumbler, then the tumbler make-up air must come from a source free of solvent gases and vapors.

Exhaust Location: To reduce the risk of fire and accumulation of combustible gases, DO NOT exhaust tumbler air into a window well, gas vent, chimney or enclosed, unventilated area such as an attic wall, ceiling, crawl space under a building, or concealed space of a building.

Exhaust Opening: Do not install wire mesh or screen in the exhaust opening as lint will build up and prevent proper discharge of air from tumblers.

Where the exhaust duct pierces a combustible wall or ceiling, an opening having a diameter four inches (10.2 cm) larger than the diameter of the exhaust duct shall be provided, and the exhaust duct centered within the opening.

Wiring and Breaker:

NOTE: DO NOT use aluminum wire.

The SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG drying tumbler must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current. The drying tumbler must be connected to a grounded metal, permanent wiring system; or an equipment grounding conductor must be run with the circuit conductors and connected to the PE Busbar.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, check with a qualified serviceman for proper grounding procedures. Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, if electrical supply is coming from a three phase service, DO NOT connect a “Stinger Leg” to a single phase machine.

WARNING: All electrical connections should be made by a qualified electrician. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, de-energize the electrical circuit being connected to the tumbler before making any electrical connections. Never attempt to connect a live circuit.

Use the following steps to connect electrical service to the tumbler:

1. Install a circuit breaker as close to the tumbler as possible. If more than one tumbler is being installed, a circuit breaker should be provided for each tumbler. This will make it possible to disconnect each tumbler for maintenance purposes.

2. a. Connect conduit-encased leads to the circuit breaker.

b. Turn “off” the disconnect switch on the tumbler and open the junction box.

c. Insert conduit-encased leads through one of the knockout holes in the junction box.

d. Connect wire leads to the disconnect switch.

• 1 Phase Units: Connect one lead to the top left connection point. Connect the other lead to the top right connection point.

• 3 Phase Units: Connect one lead to each connection point.

e. Connect a ground wire to the PE Busbar in the junction box.

3. Check electrical service phase sequence (three phase only) as instructed separately.

4. Close the junction box cover and turn “on” the disconnect switch.

Follow these steps to check the phase sequence for three-phase models only:

a. Energize the electrical service and momentarily start the tumbler. Check the direction of the cylinder rotation. If the cylinder rotates clockwise (viewed from the front), the phase sequence is correct. If the cylinder rotates counterclockwise, proceed with step “b”.

b. Disconnect power and reverse any two leads at the connections.

The SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG tumbler may be removed from the skid before moving to the installation location or moved while still attached to the skid. To remove the tumbler from the skid, unscrew the four shipping capscrews (one at each corner). The lint panel door will have to be removed in order to remove the two front capscrews.

NOTE: Do not throw these four capscrews away — they are the leveling legs.

Screw the four leveling legs back into the level adjusting fittings from the top. Slide the tumbler to its permanent location and level it. Keep the tumbler as close to the floor as possible. All four legs must rest firmly on the floor so the weight of the tumbler is evenly distributed. The tumbler must not rock.

Each SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG tumbler should be leveled within 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) from front to rear, and 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) from side to side. Check the front to rear level by rotating the clothes cylinder until one rib is at the bottom, then place a level on the bottom rib. The side to side level should be checked by placing a level on the front and rear of the top panel.

The size of the gas service pipe is dependent upon many variables (lengths, tees, etc.). Specific pipe size information should be obtained from a gas supplier. It is important that equal gas pressure be maintained at all tumbler gas connections. This can best be done by installing a one-inch pipe gas loop.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or explosion, if the tumbler is to be connected to Liquefied Petroleum (L.P.) gas, a vent to the outdoors must be provided in the room where the tumbler is installed.

Gas loop piping must be installed as illustrated in the manual to equalize gas pressure for all tumblers connected to a single gas service. Other gas-using appliances should be connected upstream from the loop. The minimum pipe size to the tumbler is 1/2″ (1.27 cm).

Line pressure must be maintained at 6-1/2″ ± 1-1/2″ water column inches (1.62 ± .37 kPa) for Natural Gas, or 11″ ± .3″ water column inches (2.74 ± .07 kPa) for L.P. Gas, with all gas appliances running (tumblers, water heaters, space heaters, furnace, etc.).

An in-line pressure regulator may be required on Natural Gas models if the line pressure exceeds eight water column inches (2.00 kPa) pressure with all gas appliances firing.

To determine the correct main supply pipe diameter, you must perform two calculations:

1. Equivalent Length: This is the total length of the main gas supply pipe from the gas meter to the far end of the tumbler dryers.

2. Total BTU/HR: This is the sum of the BTU/HR of all tumblers and other appliances being fed by the main gas supply pipe.

Using these two values, you can find the required main supply pipe diameter from the “GAS PIPE SIZE REQUIRED” table in the manual.

The following table shows gas pipe sizes required for 1,000 BTU Natural Gas (.64 specific gravity) at 6.5 ± 1.5 inch water column pressure, based on a 0.3″ water column pressure drop for the given length.

Before connecting gas piping to the tumbler, make certain the gas service is the same as that specified on the nameplate. Natural Gas service must be supplied at 6.5 ± 1.5 inch water column pressure (1.62 ± .37 kPa). L.P. Gas service must be supplied at 11 ± .3 inch water column pressure (2.74 ± .07 kPa). If the gas service is not the same, DO NOT CONNECT THE GAS LINE; it will be necessary to convert the gas burner orifice and gas valve first.

Purge air and sediment from the gas service line before connecting it loosely to the tumbler. Purge the remaining air until the odor of gas is detected, then tighten the connection. Use pipe compound, resistant to the actions of L.P. gas, on all pipe threads.

WARNING: Check all pipe connections, internal and external, for gas leaks using a soapy solution. To reduce the risk of explosion or fire, DO NOT USE AN OPEN FLAME TO CHECK FOR GAS LEAKS! Gas connections should be checked annually for leakage.

WARNING: The following procedures must be followed for pressure testing:

• The tumbler and its individual shut-off valve must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system during any pressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of 1/2 psig (3.45 kPa).

• The tumbler must be isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing its individual manual shut-off valve during any pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at test pressure equal to or less than 1/2 psig (3.45 kPa).

NOTICE: Clearance of the tumbler cabinet from combustible construction must be a minimum of 12 inches (30.5 cm) at the top.

• A 0″ clearance is permitted for the first 4″ (10.16 cm) of the front top edge.

• The maximum clearance at the front top edge is 4″ (10.16 cm).

• A 0″ clearance is permitted at the sides.

• A minimum of 24″ (61 cm) is required at the rear, with 36″ (91.4 cm) recommended for maintenance purposes.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT block airflow at the top rear of the tumbler with laundry, etc. Doing so would prevent adequate air supply to the tumbler’s heat chamber.

IMPORTANT: Install tumblers with sufficient clearance for servicing and operating.

Lighting the System:

1. Turn the machine disconnect switch, located on the rear of the tumbler, to the “on” position.

2. Turn the gas shut-off valve, located on the rear of the tumbler, to the “on” position (gas valve handle should be parallel with the gas line).

3. Start the tumbler, following the operating instructions which accompanied it.

Shutting Down the System:

If the tumbler will not start, remove it from service by turning the machine disconnect switch, located on the rear of the tumbler, to the “off” position and turn the gas shut-off valve, located on the rear of the tumbler, to the “off” position (gas valve handle should be at a right angle to the gas line).

The ignition control circuitry will verify the airflow switch is open before starting the cylinder motor. Once the motor is started, air flowing through the tumbler will cause the airflow switch to close. The tumbler will purge air for 18 seconds. Ignition will then start by a three-second release of gas from the gas valve and sparking of the ignitor. If ignition does not occur during the first three seconds, the ignition control will “lockout,” causing the gas valve to close and a red button on the ignition control to illuminate.

To reset the ignition system, open the access door and press the red button on the ignition control. Close and lock the access door, verify that the gas shut-off valve is in the “on” position, and return to step three of the lighting procedure.

1. Rotate the cam by hand until the “V” notch lines up beneath the ratchet tooth.

2. Insert a narrow screwdriver under the nylon cam, close to the clock shaft. Lift gently off the shaft. Make sure that pressure is directed upward and that the “V” notch clears the ratchet tooth.

1. Insert the drive into the timing cam with the wide prong in the wide hole of the cam.

2. Position the timing cam and drive fork over the timer shaft, aligning the timer flat with the drive fork and the “V” notch with one of the ratchet teeth.

3. Press the timing cam down firmly to seat the timing cam onto the motor shaft.

4. Remove all accumulated time by turning the cam counterclockwise until the switch shuts off. Apply moderate clockwise pressure to the fully seated timing cam and drive against the timing motor shaft. The meter must be advanced electrically for one cycle before an accurate measure of time can be made.

To figure time increments, use this formula: Timer Motor Speed (60) divided by the number of pins on the cam = Cycle Length (minutes). Cams are available with 1 to 12 pins.

Example: 60 ÷ 5 (Pin cam) = 12 minute cycle.

1. Remove or open all panels and inspect accessible bolts, nuts, screws, terminals and fittings for security.

2. Check belt tension, adjust if necessary.

3. Energize the electrical circuit to the tumbler circuit breaker and turn on the tumbler disconnect switch.

4. Turn on the gas supply at the manual gas shut off valve in the gas supply line (gas models only). The handle of the gas shut off valve should be parallel with the gas supply line when in the “ON” position.

5. Press and hold in the Push-to-Start Button for approximately three (3) seconds. Release the button and open the cylinder door. The cylinder should stop rotating within seven (7) seconds after the door is opened 3″ (7.5 cm) plus or minus 1/4″ (0.635 cm). If the cylinder does not stop rotating, adjust the cylinder door interlock.

6. Load the tumbler with clothes or clean rags.

7. Start the tumbler and check the burner flame, adjust the gas inlet shutter if necessary.

8. Check air flow switch operation by opening the lint panel. The heating system should shut off when the lint panel is opened approximately 1-1/2″ (3.81 cm). Adjust if necessary.

9. Turn off the tumbler.

10. Check air flow switch operation by opening the lint panel. Heating systems should shut off when the lint panel is opened approximately 6″ (15.24 cm) with a full load.

1. Set the temperature selector to HIGH.

2. Insert the required amount of coins.

3. Press and hold in the Push-to-Start Button for approximately three (3) seconds. The motor will start and the heat system will turn on.

4. Near the end of the cycle, a preset 2 1/2 minute cool down cycle will start.

5. When the metered time expires, the motor will stop, indicating the drying cycle is finished.

NOTICE: Both air inlet shutters on the burner must be adjusted so sufficient air is metered into the system for proper combustion and maximum efficiency. Before adjusting inlet shutters be sure that all lint is removed from the lint compartment and lint screen.

1. Unlock and open the access door.

2. Start the tumbler and check the flame pattern. A correct air and gas mixture is indicated if the flame pattern is primarily blue, with small yellow tips, and bends to the right of the heater section. Too little air is indicated if the flame is yellow, lazy, and smokey.

3. To adjust the air shutter, loosen the air inlet shutter adjusting screw.

4. Open or close the air shutter as necessary to obtain the proper flame intensity.

5. After the air shutter is adjusted for a proper flame, tighten the air shutter adjusting screw securely.

6. If the shutter is correctly adjusted, but the flame pattern is straight up, insufficient primary air is flowing through the tumbler and the airflow switch is improperly set. A flame pattern that flares to the right and left indicates no air is flowing through the tumbler.

On Gas Models like the SPEED QUEEN JCB50CG, if the air flow switch remains open, the entire unit will shut down when the Push-to-Start button is released. Once the tumbler starts and continues to run, a loss of air flow, a jammed air flow switch, or a bouncing air flow switch will shut the entire tumbler down.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, air flow switch operation may be affected by a clogged lint screen, lack of make-up air, obstructions in the vertical recirculation stack, or in the customer-installed main or collector ducts. These conditions must be checked and necessary corrections made before adjusting the air flow switch. Always adjust air flow at installation.

NOTICE: The control panel must be in place and the access door closed before attempting to adjust the air flow switch.

The counterweight should be adjusted so air flow will force the disc away from the cabinet when the lint panel is opened 6 inches (15.24 cm) with a full load. Adjust as follows:

1. Load the tumbler.

2. Start the tumbler. Open the lint panel 6 inches (15.24 cm). The airflow disc should move away from the cabinet, opening the switch contacts and shutting off the heat system. This indicates proper operation and adjustment.

3. If the switch is not opening as described, it should be adjusted to be MORE sensitive. Depress the spring clip and move the counterweight toward the disc. Retest by opening the lint panel and continue moving the counterweight toward the disc until it operates as described.

4. If the switch opens BEFORE the lint panel is opened the proper distance, it should be adjusted to be LESS sensitive. Depress the spring clip and move the counterweight away from the disc. Retest by opening the lint panel and continue moving the counterweight away from the disc until it operates as described.

The loading door switch turns off the tumbler any time the loading door is opened. To adjust it, follow these steps:

1. Start the tumbler following operating instructions.

2. Slowly open the loading door. The cylinder and heating system should stop when the door is open 3″ (7.5 cm) plus or minus 1/4″ (0.635 cm).

3. Slowly close the loading door. The loading door switch should close with an audible “click” when the loading door is closed 3″ (7.5 cm) plus or minus 1/4″ (0.635 cm).

4. If the loading door switch does not close at the correct point:

a. Close the loading door completely.

b. Loosen the lower screw on the switch coupler and rotate the switch coupler COUNTERCLOCKWISE until it stops.

c. Tighten the lower screw on the switch coupler.

d. Return to step 1 to verify loading door switch operation.

The door strike must be adjusted to have sufficient tension to hold the loading door closed against the force of the load tumbling against it. Proper adjustment is when 8 to 15 pounds (35.6 N – 66.7 N) of pull is required to open the door.

To adjust, open the door, loosen the jamnut on the door strike, and turn the door strike screw in or out as required. Retighten the jamnut.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, disconnect power to the tumbler before performing this operation.

Proper tension is when the belt can be depressed approximately 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) by applying light thumb pressure at a point midway between the sheave and motor pulley.

1. Remove the guard from the rear of the tumbler.

2. To adjust belt tension, loosen the adjusting bolt holding the idler housing assembly to the housing support.

3. To tighten V-belt:

a. Loosen the lower nut on the adjusting bolt.

b. Turn the bolt up until the belt has proper tension.

c. Tighten the upper and lower nut or adjusting bolt.

4. To loosen V-belt:

a. Loosen the top nut on the adjusting bolt.

b. Turn the bolt down until the belt has proper tension.

c. Tighten the upper and lower nut or adjusting bolt.

5. Replace the guard on the rear of the tumbler.

6. The upper belt requires no adjustment since it is self-adjusting.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, the guard MUST be installed on the rear of the tumbler after belt adjustment is made.

1. Make certain the drying cycle has ended.

2. Open the loading door.

3. Unlock and remove the lint panel.

4. Remove accumulated lint in the lint compartment. Lint left in the lint compartment will be drawn back onto the lint screen and restrict air circulation.

5. Clean lint from the lint screen. If the lint screen is torn, replace it immediately. A torn lint screen allows lint to flow into the ductwork system, restricting air circulation.

6. Ensure the lint screen covers the entire opening in the lint screen hood. Gaps between the lint screen and lint screen hood allow lint to flow into the ductwork system, restricting air circulation.

7. Wipe any accumulated lint off the thermostat sensing probe. Lint buildup on the sensing probe will cause overheating of the tumbler.

8. Replace and securely lock the lint panel.

1. Perform daily cleaning of accumulated lint.

2. Deactivate the electrical circuit by turning off the electrical disconnect switch on the rear of the tumbler.

4. Remove the exhaust duct from the rear of the tumbler and clean out all accumulated lint.

5. Reinstall the exhaust duct.

6. Remove the bottom cover from the vertical exhaust duct and clean out all accumulated lint.

7. Reinstall the vertical exhaust duct cover.

8. Inspect the entire duct work assembly and clean out all accumulated lint.

9. Energize the electrical circuit to the tumbler by turning on the electrical disconnect switch on the rear of the tumbler.

1. Deactivate the electrical circuit by turning off the disconnect switch on the rear of the tumbler.

2. Perform daily cleaning of accumulated lint.

3. Perform monthly inspection and cleaning of accumulated lint.

4. Clean accumulated lint and other debris from the front and back motor air vents.

5. Shut off the gas supply at the manual gas shut off valve in the gas supply line (gas models only). The handle of the gas shut off valve should be at a 90° angle to the gas supply line when in the “OFF” position.

6. Remove the screws holding the rear drive guard to the back of the tumbler.

7. Inspect belts for wear and proper tension.

8. Reinstall the rear drive guard to the back of the tumbler.

9. Energize the electrical circuit to the tumbler by turning on the electrical disconnect switch on the rear of the tumbler.

10. Turn on the gas supply at the manual gas shut off valve in the gas supply line (gas models only). The handle of the gas shut off valve should be parallel with the gas supply line when in the “ON” position.

1. Deactivate the electrical circuit by turning off the disconnect switch on the rear of the tumbler.

2. Perform daily cleaning of accumulated lint.

3. Perform monthly inspection and cleaning of accumulated lint.

4. Perform quarterly inspection and cleaning of accumulated lint.

5. Remove or open all panels and check accessible bolts, nuts, screws, terminals and fittings for tightness.

6. Shut off the gas supply at the manual gas shut off valve in the gas supply line (gas models only). The handle of the gas shut off valve should be at a 90° angle to the gas supply line when in “OFF” position.

7. Unlock and open the service panel and inspect gas connections for evidence of leakage or loose connections. NOTE: Spraying a mild solution of soap and water on joints will cause bubbles to appear on any leaking connections.

8. Close and securely lock the service panel.

9. Open the electrical junction box cover and inspect all electrical and grounding connections for security. Tighten any loose electrical connections.

10. Close the electrical junction box cover and energize the electrical circuit to the tumbler by turning on the electrical disconnect switch.

11. Turn on the gas supply at the manual gas shut off valve in the gas supply line (gas models only). The handle of the gas shut off valve should be parallel with the gas supply line when in “ON” position.

1. Turn off the electrical supply external to the machine.

2. Turn off the electrical disconnect on the machine.

3. Turn off the gas supply external to the machine.

4. Turn off the manual gas shut-off valve on the machine.

5. Turn off the steam supply external to the machine (if applicable).

6. Remove all electric, gas, and steam connections.
