3. The Con@ctivity function will be activated automatically.

6. When successfully connected, 2 and 3 will light up on the rangehood.

7. Quit connection mode on the rangehood by pressing its run-on control. Con@ctivity is now activated.

The noises you hear from your MIELE KM 7897 FL are normal and depend on the cookware used and the power level.

1. Place a pan in the required position.

2. Select a power level if necessary.

Activating TwinBooster Level 2:

2. Select a power level if necessary.

Deactivating TwinBooster:

The Keeping warm function on your MIELE KM 7897 FL is designed to keep freshly cooked food hot for up to 2 hours. It is not for reheating cold food.

To activate or deactivate the function, touch the “keep warm” sensor control (symbol looks like three vertical wavy lines) on the corresponding numerical keybank.

Your MIELE KM 7897 FL has two timer functions: a minute minder and an auto switch-off. The cooktop must be switched on to use the timer.

Setting the Minute Minder:

1. Touch the minute minder sensor (clock symbol). The timer display will flash.

2. Set the required time (from 0:01 to 9:59) using the numerical keybank.

3. Touch the minute minder sensor again or wait 10 seconds to start the timer.

To change the time, touch the sensor and set a new time. To cancel, touch the sensor and then touch 0 on the keybank.

Setting Auto Switch-off for a pan:

1. Select a power level for the pan you want to time.

2. Touch the auto switch-off sensor (clock with pot symbol). The timer display flashes.

3. Set the required time.

4. Touch the auto switch-off sensor again or wait 10 seconds to start. The indicator light for that pan will pulsate.

To change or delete a time, touch the sensor repeatedly until the indicator for the desired pan pulsates, then either enter a new time or touch 0 to delete it.

Using Both Timer Functions Simultaneously:

You can use both functions at the same time. The shortest remaining time is always displayed. The indicator for that function (minute minder or the specific pan) will pulsate. To see the other times counting down in the background, touch the respective timer sensor.

Stop & Go:

This function reduces the power level of all active areas to 1 at a single touch. This is useful if you need to step away from the cooktop briefly or if there is a danger of food boiling over. The timer functions (minute minder, auto switch-off) continue to run. To activate/deactivate, touch the II/▶ sensor. If not deactivated within 1 hour, the cooktop will switch off.

Recall:

If you accidentally switch the cooktop off, the Recall function can restore all your previous settings. You must switch the cooktop back on within 10 seconds. The previously set power levels will flash. Immediately press one of the flashing power level indicators to restore all settings.

Wipe protection:

This function locks all cooktop sensors (except the On/Off sensor) for 20 seconds, allowing you to wipe the control panel without changing any settings. Always allow the cooktop to cool down before cleaning to avoid the risk of burns.

1. Remove any coarse soiling with a damp cloth. For stubborn soiling, use a glass scraper suitable for cooktops.

2. Apply a proprietary ceramic glass cleaning agent (such as the Miele ceramic and stainless steel cooktop cleaner) with a paper towel or a clean cloth. Do not apply cleaner while the cooktop is still hot.

3. Follow the cleaning agent manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Finally, wipe the cooktop with a clean, damp cloth and dry it with a soft, dry cloth to prevent limescale residue.

Important: Do not use unsuitable cleaning agents such as washing-up liquid, abrasive powders, solvent-based cleaners, or hard/abrasive sponges, as these can damage the surface.

For Spills of Sugar, Plastic, or Aluminium Foil:

If these substances spill onto the hot ceramic surface, they can cause damage as they cool.

1. Immediately switch off the appliance.

2. While wearing oven gloves, carefully scrape off all residues immediately while they are still hot, using a shielded scraper blade suitable for use on glass.

3. Afterwards, clean the cooled ceramic surface as described above.

If your MIELE KM 7897 FL displays a message or fault code, consult the following guide:
