After launching the eBookScan software, the main screen will display “Welcome to eBookScan”. To begin, simply click the “Start” button on the screen.

In the eBookScan software, click the settings icon (wrench) to modify scan settings. This will open a menu where you can adjust various options before scanning.

You can adjust the following settings for your PLUSTEK OB3800L EBOOKSCAN:

• File Format: Choose between PDF, JPG, TIFF, or Searchable PDF.

• Viewing Direction: Select Left to Right or Right to Left.

• Scanner Button: Enable or disable the physical scan button on the scanner.

• Save 2: This is an optional second profile that you can enable. It allows you to save the same scanned images with a completely different set of settings, such as a different file format (e.g., EPUB), file name, or custom device size.

If you hear a strange noise while scanning with your PLUSTEK OB3800L EBOOKSCAN, you should check the status of the scanner lock. Ensure the lock is set to the correct position, either “Auto Lock” or “Always Unlock”.

If you are not satisfied with the quality of your scanned images, you can use the adjustment tools within the eBookScan software. Use the brightness icon to adjust brightness settings and the contrast icon to adjust contrast settings.

You can find the Scanner Utility by searching for “Scanner Utility” in your computer’s search bar. Once opened, the utility allows you to perform advanced adjustments.

If parts of the scanned document are missing, you can adjust the alignment using the Scanner Utility. Open the utility and navigate to the “Initial Scanning Position” tab to make the necessary adjustments.

To disable the standby mode, open the Scanner Utility and select the “Standby Mode” tab. Here, you can check the “Disable Standby mode” box. You can also set the idle time before the scanner enters standby mode if you choose to keep it enabled.
