What are the key safety instructions for using the MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035 washer?

To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, follow these basic safety precautions when using your MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035:

Installation and Electrical Safety:

• Read all instructions before use.

• The appliance must be properly grounded. It is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug, which must be plugged into an appropriate, properly installed and grounded outlet.

• Do not modify the plug. If it does not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.

• Before connecting, ensure the data on the data plate (fusing, voltage, frequency) matches your mains electrical supply.

• Do not use an extension cord, as it does not guarantee the required safety.

• Do not install or use a washer with visible damage.

• Do not install the appliance where it will be exposed to weather or temperatures below freezing, as frozen hoses may burst.

• Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance unless specifically recommended in the operating instructions.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Miele Service technician.

Operational Safety:

• Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas (which is explosive) may be produced in a hot water system that has not been used for 2 weeks or more. If so, turn on all hot water faucets for several minutes to release any built-up gas before using the washer. Do not smoke or use an open flame during this time.

• Remove the door before the appliance is discarded or removed for service.

• Do not allow children to play on or in the appliance. Close supervision is necessary when used near children.

• The drum door glass can become hot during high-temperature washes. Do not touch the glass to avoid burns.

• Only wash items specified by the manufacturer as machine washable on the fabric care label.

• Do not wash articles that have been spotted or soaked with gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents, or other flammable substances, as they give off vapors that could ignite or explode.

• Do not add flammable or explosive substances to the wash water.

• Do not use cleaning solvents on or near the machine or controls.

• Do not reach into the appliance if the drum is moving.

• Do not tamper with the controls.

How do the final spin speed settings work on the MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035?

On your MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035, you can adjust the final spin speed to suit your laundry needs. The available spin speeds depend on the selected program. Here are the options:

Rinse spin: The laundry is spun after the main wash and between rinse cycles. Reducing the final spin speed will also reduce the rinse spin speeds.

Hold: Select this option if you cannot remove the laundry immediately after the program ends. The laundry is not spun and remains soaking in the final rinse water. This helps prevent wrinkles. To finish the program, you can select a spin speed and press “Start”, or press “Cancel” to drain the water and end the cycle.

No spin: Select “No spin” to deselect both the rinse spin and final spin. The laundry is not spun after the final rinse; the water is simply drained away. The washer then enters the anti-crease cycle.

The default spin speed for each program is the maximum allowable. You can select a lower spin speed, but you cannot select a higher speed than the program’s maximum.

What do the wash options on the MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035 do?

You can enhance your wash program by selecting one of the following options on your MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035:

Heavy Soil: For heavily soiled laundry or stubborn dried-on stains. This option adds a pre-wash cycle, and the main wash time is extended.

Extended: For laundry with normal to heavy soiling or stains. This option extends the main wash cycle time.

Sensitive: This option adds an additional final rinse to wash away detergent residue and scents, which is ideal for sensitive skin. An additional rinse takes place.

Buzzer: A buzzer will sound to signal the end of the wash program or after a “Hold” phase. The buzzer continues to sound until the washer is turned off. The volume can be adjusted.

To adjust the buzzer volume, press the “Buzzer” button when no program is selected until “Volume setting” appears on the display. Use the left menu button to adjust the volume and confirm with “OK”.

What happens if I use too little or too much detergent in my MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035?

Using the correct amount of high-efficiency detergent is crucial for good washing results with your MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035.

Too little detergent may cause:

• Laundry to not be cleaned effectively, becoming gray and stiff over time.

• Grease to not be completely washed from the laundry.

• Calcium deposits on the heater.

Too much detergent may cause:

• Oversudsing, leading to poor wash, rinse, and spin results.

• Higher water usage, as the machine may automatically add an extra rinse to deal with the excess suds.

• A higher environmental burden.

How do I use liquid and powder detergents in the MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035?

Your MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035 has specific compartments for different detergents.

Using Liquid Detergent:

1. Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer. The liquid detergent inserts should already be in the compartments.

2. Add detergent to the correct compartments:

Compartment II (labeled with a double line icon): Detergent for the main wash.

Bleach Compartment (labeled with a bleach icon): Add liquid bleach here as described by the manufacturer. Do not use the “Heavy Soil” option when using bleach.

Fabric Softener Compartment (labeled with a flower icon): Add fabric softener or liquid starch here.

3. Close the detergent drawer.

Using Powder Detergent:

1. Pull out the detergent dispenser drawer.

2. Remove the liquid detergent inserts from compartments I and II.

3. Add powder detergent to the correct compartments as described above.

4. Close the drawer. Remember to replace the inserts before using liquid detergent again.

Note: You cannot combine the “Heavy soil” option and use bleach in the same cycle, as the “Heavy soil” function will flush away the bleach prematurely.

The washer shakes during the spin cycle. The four feet are not resting evenly on the floor. Level the machine by adjusting the feet.
There are unusual sounds coming from the drain pump. There is no fault. Lapping sounds at the beginning and end of the drain process are normal.
Large residues of detergent remain in the dispenser drawer. The water pressure is too low. Clean the water intake hose filter under running water and carefully remove any large particles.
Water softeners tend to clump. Clean the detergent drawer. In the future add the detergent first then the water softener.
The fabric softener is not completely dispensed or too much water remains in the “Softener” compartment. The siphon tube is either positioned incorrectly or clogged. Clean the siphon tube, as described in the “Cleaning the detergent drawer” section.
The display shows a foreign language. The display language was adjusted. Select the correct display language.

How can I improve poor wash results with my MIELE TOUCHTRONIC W 3035?

Issue Possible Cause Solution
The wash does not come clean with liquid detergent. Liquid detergents do not contain bleaching agents. Fruit, coffee and tea stains cannot be effectively removed. • Use powdered bleach.
• Do not put liquid detergent and stain remover together in the same wash compartment.
Laundry has a gray, sticky residue. An inadequate amount of detergent was used to dissolve greasy deposits in heavily soiled laundry (e.g. grease, oils or lotions). • Add more detergent to the laundry or use a liquid detergent.
• Run a “Normal – Hot” program with liquid detergent to clean the washer before using it for laundry again.
There is white detergent residue on dark laundry. The detergent was not completely dissolved because of hard water. • After drying, remove white residue with a clothing brush.
• Add a water softener to the detergent for future loads.
