What are the main safety precautions for the JVC GR-D31?

To ensure safe use of your JVC GR-D31 digital video camera, please observe the following precautions:

WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS APPARATUS TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.

CAUTIONS:

• This camcorder is designed for NTSC-type color television signals. Live recording and LCD/viewfinder playback are possible anywhere, but playback on a television requires a compatible standard.

• Only use JVC BN-V408U/V416U/V428U battery packs and the provided multi-voltage AC Adapter for power.

• Ensure sufficient ventilation (10 cm or more on all sides) when installed in a cabinet or on a shelf. Do not block ventilation holes.

• Do not place naked flame sources, like lighted candles, on the apparatus.

• Dispose of batteries according to local rules and laws.

• The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing. Do not use it in a bathroom or places with water.

• Do not place containers filled with water or liquids on top of the unit.

• Do not point the lens or viewfinder directly into the sun to avoid eye injury and internal damage.

• Always use the provided shoulder strap for carrying. Do not carry the camcorder by the viewfinder or LCD monitor.

• Be careful not to get your finger caught in the cassette holder cover.

• Do not use a tripod on unsteady or unlevel surfaces.

• Avoid leaving the camcorder on top of a TV with cables connected, as tripping on the cables can cause it to fall.
