Please follow these guidelines when using your HOHEM ISTEADY MOBILE+ (MOBILEPLUS):

• Always use the product in accordance with the user guide.

• Ensure your mobile device is mounted and balanced before powering on the gimbal.

• Keep the gimbal away from fire and heat sources.

• Do not use the product for any illegal purpose. The user is responsible for all consequences of such actions.

To install the app, search for ‘Hohem Gimbal’ in the App Store or Google Play and follow the instructions to install the app. The Hohem Gimbal app supports iOS 9.0 and Android 4.5 or above.

Follow these steps to quickly start using your gimbal:

A. Charge the battery fully before first use.

B. Mount and balance your smartphone correctly on the gimbal.

C. Long press the power button for 3 seconds to turn on the gimbal.

Charge the gimbal fully before using it for the first time.

• **Micro USB Port:** Use this port to charge the gimbal.

• **USB Port:** Use this port to charge your smartphone from the gimbal’s battery.

To check the battery status, tap the power button. The indicator lights show the battery level:

• **Low Battery Warning:** The Mode Light blinks.

• **Charging:** The indicator lights blink.

• **Fully charged:** 4 LED lights are on.

• **4 LED lights on:** 100%

• **3 LED lights on:** 75%

• **2 LED lights on:** 50%

• **1 LED light on:** 25%

Important: Do not turn on the gimbal without a smartphone mounted on it. It is also not recommended to mount the phone with a case.

For horizontal mounting:

1. Push and open the phone holder.

2. Insert the smartphone.

3. Make the home button side of the phone as close as possible to the tilt motor.

For vertical mounting:

1. Rotate the phone clamp to a vertical position before inserting the phone.

The HOHEM ISTEADY MOBILE+ (MOBILEPLUS) supports a maximum payload of 280g and a phone width of 58mm to 89mm.

For horizontal mounting:

Adjust the balancing knob until the smartphone stays still and level when you rotate the roll axis up and down.

For vertical mounting:

1. Adjust the roll arm left and right.

2. Adjust the phone holder left and right.

Note: For some lightweight mobile phones, it may not be possible to achieve a perfect balance. In this case, please balance the phone as much as possible to save battery.

• **Joystick:** Push up, down, left, or right to control the gimbal’s movement.

• **Slider:** Controls Focus/Zoom in & out (only available in the app).

• **Power On/Off & Shutter Button:**

– Long press for 3 seconds: Power the gimbal on or off.

– Single Tap: Take a photo (Bluetooth must be connected in the app).

– Double Tap: Record video (Bluetooth must be connected in the app).

• **Trigger Button:**

– Press and hold: Enter Sport mode.

– Double Tap: Re-center the gimbal.

• **Mode Button:** Tapping this button cycles through different working modes.

• **Bluetooth Light:**

– Light On: Bluetooth is connected.

– Blink Twice: Powering on/off.

– Light Off: Bluetooth is disconnected.

• **Mode Light:** Indicates the current working mode.

You can change the working modes by pressing the Mode Button. The Mode Light will flash to indicate the current mode.

1. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone.

2. Open the ‘Hohem Gimbal’ app, choose the product model from the list, and confirm to establish the Bluetooth connection.

3. Make sure the gimbal’s Bluetooth light stays on, indicating a successful connection.

Note: The Bluetooth connection must be made directly within the ‘Hohem Gimbal’ app, not through your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings list. Ensure you allow all permissions when you open the app for the first time.

In the ‘Hohem Gimbal’ app, you can adjust the following gimbal specifications:

• **Following Speed:** Adjusts the following speed of pan/tilt/roll axes.

• **Joystick Speed:** Adjusts the rotating speed when using the joystick.

• **Following Dead Area:** Prevents following movement when the rotation angle is less than the set value.

• **Trim:** Adjusts the tilt/roll axis in small increments to achieve a perfect balance.

• **Joystick Reverse:** Reverses the rotation direction controlled by the joystick.

• **Motor Torsion:** Adjusts the motor torsion of pan/tilt/roll axes, which is useful to solve vibration issues due to a lightweight or overweight mobile phone.

You should calibrate your gimbal if you notice it is not working properly, such as:

• The pitch angle is not level with the horizontal surface.

• The roll angle is not parallel to the horizontal surface.

• The pan axis drifts when the gimbal is in all lock mode.

There are two methods for calibration:

Method 1: Off-line Calibration

1. Power on the gimbal, then long press the mode button for over 6 seconds until the mode light turns on.

2. Lay the gimbal on a static, flat surface without any vibration. Calibration is complete once the mode light flashes twice.

Method 2: 6-Side Calibration Via App

If the off-line calibration is not successful, use this method. Make sure the gimbal is connected to the app via Bluetooth, then enter “Calibration” and follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the gimbal.

To upgrade the firmware, please make sure the gimbal is connected with the ‘Hohem Gimbal’ app via Bluetooth successfully. Then, enter the “Firmware Upgrade” section in the app and follow the instructions to upgrade to the latest firmware.

Vibration after powering on is usually caused by improper setup. Ensure your smartphone is mounted firmly and well-balanced before powering on the gimbal. Do not turn on the gimbal without a balanced load, as this can damage the motors. For some lightweight mobile phones, you may need to adjust the motor torsion in the app settings to resolve vibration issues.

If the gimbal is not level or drifts after powering on, it needs to be calibrated. Please refer to the calibration instructions for a step-by-step guide on how to perform both off-line and in-app calibration.
