How do I connect the JOBY WAVO LAV MOBILE to a smartphone or a camera?
To connect your JOBY WAVO LAV MOBILE to different devices:
For Smartphones: Plug the microphone’s native TRRS 3.5mm connector directly into your smartphone’s headphone jack.
For Cameras or Audio Recorders: Connect the microphone’s TRRS connector into the female end of the included TRRS to TRS adapter. Then, plug the male TRS end of the adapter into the dedicated microphone (MIC) input port on your camera or audio recorder.
When should I use the different windscreens provided with the JOBY WAVO LAV MOBILE?
Use the appropriate windscreen for your JOBY WAVO LAV MOBILE based on the recording environment:
Indoor Use: The standard foam windscreen is suitable for most indoor recording situations.
Outdoor/Windy Conditions: Use one of the furry windscreens when recording outdoors to protect against wind noise.
How do I properly attach the JOBY WAVO LAV MOBILE to clothing?
To properly secure the JOBY WAVO LAV MOBILE and minimize cable noise, create a small loop with the microphone cable just below the microphone capsule. Tuck this loop into the back of the attachment clip. This acts as a strain relief and helps reduce noise from the cable rubbing against your clothing. Once the loop is secured, clip the microphone onto your shirt, collar, or lapel.
