The following table describes the components of the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF Face Recognition Terminal.

Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF using a gang box.

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module to the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF without a gang box.

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill 6 holes on the wall or other surface according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 in the mounting template.

3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews in the drilled holes.

4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and use the six supplied screws to secure the plate.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Insert the fingerprint module to the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

The terminals on the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF contain inputs for power, alarm, RS-485, Wiegand, and door lock. The descriptions are as follows:

You must activate the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF before the first login. If the device is not activated, you can activate it after it is powered on.

On the Activate Device page, create a password and confirm the password. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

Caution: It is highly recommended to create a strong password (minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) to increase security. Reset your password regularly.

SADP is a tool to detect, activate, and modify the IP address of the device over the LAN.

Before You Start:

• Get the SADP software and install it.

• The device and the PC running the SADP tool should be within the same subnet.

Steps:

1. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.

2. Find and select your device in the online device list.

3. Input a new password (admin password) and confirm it.

4. Click Activate to start activation. The status of the device will become Active.

5. To modify the IP address:

1) Select the device.

2) Change the device IP address to the same subnet as your computer by either modifying the IP address manually or checking Enable DHCP.

3) Input the admin password and click Modify to activate your IP address modification.

You are required to create a password to activate certain devices before they can be added to the software.

Steps:

1. Enter the Device Management page in the client software.

2. Click on the right of Device Management and select Device.

3. Click Online Device to show the online device area. The searched online devices will be displayed.

4. Check the device status (shown in the Security Level column) and select an inactive device.

5. Click Activate to open the Activation dialog.

6. Create a password in the password field, and confirm the password.

7. Click OK to activate the device.

After activating the device, you should select an application and recognition mode for better performance.

Set Application Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

• If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

• If you don’t configure this, the system will select Indoor by default.

2. Tap OK to save.

Set Recognition Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes faces via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: Recognizes a much wider range of people, suitable for more complicated environments.

• Note: Normal and deep modes cannot be compatible. It is suggested not to change this parameter once configured.

2. Tap OK to save.

You can log in for the first time using the activation password, or log in as an administrator after one has been added.

Login For First Login:

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entering page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page.

Note: The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator:

After you add an administrator for the device, only the administrator can log in for device operation.

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

Note: The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts.

Optional: You can tap the lock icon to enter the device activation password for login, or tap the exit button to exit the admin login page.

You can set network, Wi-Fi, RS-485, and Wiegand parameters in the communication settings.

Set Network Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. (Communication Settings) on the Home page.

2. Tap Network to enter the Network tab.

3. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway and input the parameters.

4. Tap OK to save the settings.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters:

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap Wi-Fi.

2. Enable the Wi-Fi function.

3. Select a Wi-Fi network and choose an IP mode (Static or Dynamic), then input the required password and network details.

4. Tap OK to save the settings.

Set RS-485 Parameters:

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap RS-485.

2. Select an external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader) according to your needs.

3. If connecting an access controller or card reader, set the RS-485 address to 2.

4. Tap the save icon. The device will reboot if you change the external device.

Set Wiegand Parameters:

1. On the Communication Settings page, tap Wiegand.

2. Enable the Wiegand function.

3. Select a transmission direction (Output for access controller, Input for Wiegand card reader).

4. Tap the save icon. The device will reboot if you change this setting.

On the user management interface, you can add, edit, delete, and search users.

1. Add User (General Steps):

1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the employee ID (less than 32 characters, no duplicates, cannot start with 0).

3. Tap the Name field and input the user name.

2. Add Face Picture:

1. On the Add User page, tap the Face Picture field.

2. Position your face looking at the camera. Ensure your face is within the outline and the picture is of good quality.

3. Tap Save to save the face picture. The maximum duration for adding a face is 15s.

3. Add Fingerprint:

1. On the Add User page, tap the Fingerprint field.

2. Place your finger on the fingerprint module and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. After adding, tap Yes to save and continue adding another fingerprint, or No to save and return to the Add User page. Up to 10 fingerprints can be added per user.

4. Add Card:

1. On the Add User page, tap the Card field.

2. Configure the card No. by entering it manually or swiping the card over the card swiping area.

3. Optionally, enable the Duress Card function.

5. Add Password:

1. On the Add User page, tap the Password field.

2. Create a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters) and confirm it.

6. Set Authentication Mode:

1. On the Add User or Edit User page, tap Authentication Mode.

2. Select Device or Custom mode. For Custom, you can combine different authentication modes.

7. Finalize and Save:

1. Enable Administrator Permission if the user is an administrator.

2. Tap the save icon to save all settings for the user.

You can import or export user data, pictures, and parameters using a USB flash drive via the Transfer page.

Export Data:

1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

2. Tap Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the USB flash drive.

Note: The supported USB flash drive format is DB. The system supports drives with storage from 1G to 32G. Ensure free space is more than 512M.

Import Data:

1. Plug a USB flash drive into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB flash drive.

Note: The supported USB flash drive format is FAT32. For picture import, the images should be in a root directory folder named ‘enroll_pic’, and the file name must follow the rule: Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg. The picture should be a full-face view, JPG/JPEG format, 640×480 pixels or more, and between 60 KB and 200 KB.

The HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF supports several authentication methods, primarily categorized as 1:1 Matching and 1:N Matching.

• 1:N Matching: Compares the captured face picture or collected fingerprint with all face/fingerprint pictures stored in the device. If the authentication mode is just “Face”, you position your face looking at the camera to start authentication.

• 1:1 Matching: Compares the captured face or fingerprint with a specific user’s stored data, usually initiated by presenting a card.

How to Authenticate via 1:1 Matching (e.g., Card and Face):

1. Swipe your card in the card swiping area.

2. Position your face looking at the camera to authenticate your face.

If the mode is Card and Face and Fingerprint, you would swipe your card, authenticate your face, and then authenticate your fingerprint when prompted.

How to Authenticate via 1:1 and 1:N Matching (e.g., Fingerprint and Face):

1. Authenticate your fingerprint first. The device compares it with all fingerprints in the database (1:N Matching).

2. When prompted, position your face looking at the camera. The device compares the captured face with the user information gained from the fingerprint step (1:1 Matching).

If authentication is successful, the prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

On the Home page, tap System (System Settings) to enter the System Settings page. Here you can configure various basic parameters.

On the Home page, tap System, then go to the Face Pic. tab to adjust face recognition parameters.

You can set the attendance mode as Disable, Manual, Auto, or Manual and Auto. This function should be used in cooperation with the time and attendance function on the client software. To begin, tap T&A Status on the Home page.

Disable Attendance Mode:

Set the Attendance Mode to Disable. You will not view or configure the attendance status on the initial page.

Set Manual Attendance:

1. Set the Attendance Mode to Manual.

2. Enable the Attendance Status function.

3. You must select the attendance status (e.g., Check In, Check Out) manually after authentication.

Set Auto Attendance:

1. Set the Attendance Mode to Auto.

2. Select an attendance status (e.g., Check In, Break Out) and set its available schedule. The system will automatically mark the attendance status based on the time of authentication according to the configured schedule.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance:

1. Set the Attendance Mode to Manual and Auto.

2. The system will automatically change the attendance status according to the configured schedule, but you can also manually change it after authentication.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to edit the access control parameters. The available parameters are:

You can perform various maintenance tasks such as upgrading firmware and managing data.

Upgrade Firmware:

1. Plug in a USB flash drive containing the upgrade file.

2. Tap Maint. (Maintenance) on the System Settings page.

3. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware.

Note: Do not power off during the upgrade. The upgrading file should be in the root directory and named digicap.dav.

Data Management:

1. Tap Data (Data Management) on the Home page.

2. Tap a button to manage data as described below:

Log Query:

1. On the Home page, tap Log.

2. Select a search type (e.g., Card, Name).

3. Input the employee ID, card No., or user name.

4. Select a time period (Custom, Yesterday, etc.).

5. Tap the search icon to view the results.

After adding the HIKVISION DS-K1T607TMF to the client software, you can initiate two-way audio calls with various devices.

Call Client Software from Device:

1. Add the device to the client software.

2. On the device’s initial page, tap Call.

3. Input 0 in the pop-up window and tap Call.

4. Tap Answer on the pop-up page in the client software to start the two-way audio.

Call Master Station from Device:

1. Add both the master station and the device to the client software.

2. Set the master station’s IP and SIP address in the device’s remote configuration page.

3. Tap the call button on the device. The device will call the master station in priority.

4. Answer the call on the master station to start two-way audio.

Call Device from Client Software:

1. Add the device to the client software.

2. Enter the Live View page and double-click the added device to start live view.

3. Right-click the live view image and select Start Two-Way Audio.

Call Indoor Station from Device:

1. Add the indoor station and the device to the client software.

2. Link a user to an indoor station and set a room No. for it.

3. Tap the call icon on the device’s authentication page.

4. Input the room No. on the dial page and tap the call button.

5. When the indoor station answers, you can start two-way audio.

To ensure successful fingerprint scanning, please follow these tips:

Recommended Finger:

Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

Correct Scanning:

Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the scanner’s center. Avoid placing your finger vertically, on the edge, or sideways on the scanner.

Environment:

The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain. If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it successfully. You can try blowing on your finger and scanning again.

Others:

If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods. If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it. In this case, change to another finger and try again.

To get a good quality and accurate face picture for recognition, follow these recommendations:

Position (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

Stand at a recommended height of 1.4 m to 1.9 m. Avoid being too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera.

Expression:

Keep your expression natural, similar to a passport photo. Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can affect facial recognition. Ensure your hair does not cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

Position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

Make sure your face is in the middle of the collecting window. It should not be too close or too far.

• Sunlight: More than 1200 Lux

2. Placement:

Install the device at least 2 meters away from any light source and at least 3 meters away from a window or door.

3. Avoid Direct Light:

Avoid backlight, direct sunlight, indirect sunlight through a window, and being too close to a light source.
