If your equipment causes harmful interference, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, you are encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

1. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

2. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.

3. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.

4. Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20cm between the radiator and your body.

Please follow these Dangers and Cautions to ensure correct use of the product and to avoid danger or property loss.

Dangers:

• All electronic operations should be in strict compliance with electrical safety regulations, fire prevention regulations, and other related regulations in your local region.

• Use the power adapter provided by a normal company. The equipment is intended to be supplied from a Class 2 surge-protected power source rated DC 12V, 3A.

• Do not connect several devices to one power adapter, as an adapter overload may cause overheating or a fire hazard.

• Ensure the power has been disconnected before you wire, install, or dismantle the device.

• When the product is installed on a wall or ceiling, the device shall be firmly fixed.

• If smoke, odors, or noise rise from the device, turn off the power at once, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.

• Do not ingest the battery. This product contains a coin/button cell battery which can cause severe internal burns and lead to death if swallowed. Keep new and used batteries away from children.

• If the product does not work properly, please contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Never attempt to disassemble the device yourself.

Cautions:

• Do not drop the device or subject it to physical shock, and do not expose it to high electromagnetism radiation. Avoid installation on vibrating surfaces or places subject to shock.

• Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations.

• The device cover for indoor use shall be kept from rain and moisture.

• Do not aim the device at the sun or extra bright places.

• Use the provided glove when opening the device cover to avoid direct contact, as acidic sweat from fingers may erode the surface coating.

• Use a soft and dry cloth to clean inside and outside surfaces. Do not use alkaline detergents.

• Improper use or replacement of the battery may result in an explosion hazard. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

• Biometric recognition products are not 100% applicable to anti-spoofing environments. If you require a higher security level, use multiple authentication modes.

• For indoor and outdoor use, if installing indoors, the device should be at least 2 meters away from light and 3 meters from a window or door. If outdoors, apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

• Protection level is IP65.

You should only use the power supplies listed in the user instructions. The compatible models are:

• If installing the device indoors, it should be at least 2 meters away from the light and at least 3 meters away from the window or the door.

• If installing the device outdoors, you should apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

• Make sure the environment illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• Make sure the output of the external power supply fulfills LPS (Limited Power Source).

Follow these steps to install the terminal with a gang box:

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

Follow these steps to install the terminal without a gang box:

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill 6 holes on the wall or other surface according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 in the mounting template.

3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews into the drilled holes.

4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and secure it.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

The descriptions of the terminals are as follows:

You must activate the device before the first login. After powering on, the system will switch to the Device Activation page. You can activate it via the device itself, SADP tool, or client software.

Activate via Device:

1. On the Activate Device page, create a password and confirm it.

2. Tap Activate. The device will be activated.

It is highly recommended to use a strong password (minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) to increase security.

Activate via SADP:

1. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.

2. Select your inactive device from the list.

3. Input a new password and confirm it.

4. Click Activate. The device status will become Active.

Activate via Client Software:

1. Enter the Device Management page in the client software.

2. Click Online Device to find the device.

3. Select the inactive device and click Activate.

4. Create a password in the password field and confirm it.

5. Click OK to activate the device.

Set Application Mode:

1. After activation, on the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

– If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

– If you do not configure it, the system will select Indoor by default.

2. Tap OK to save.

Set Recognition Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

– Normal Mode: Recognizes face via the camera normally.

– Deep Mode: Recognizes a much wider range of people, suitable for more complicated environments.

2. Tap OK to save.

First Time Login:

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entering page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password you created.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator:

After you have added an administrator for the device, only the administrator can log in for device operation.

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts.

Set Network Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap the Network tab.

3. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway and input the parameters.

4. Tap OK to save.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap the Wi-Fi tab and enable the Wi-Fi function.

3. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list.

4. Select an IP mode (Static or Dynamic) and input the password. If Static, also input IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

5. Tap OK to save.

Set RS-485 Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap the RS-485 tab.

3. Select an external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader) according to your needs. The device will reboot after saving if you change this setting.

Set Wiegand Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

2. Tap the Wiegand tab and enable the Wiegand function.

3. Select a transmission direction: Output (to connect an external access controller) or Input (to connect a Wiegand card reader). The device will reboot after saving if you change this setting.

On the user management interface, you can add, edit, and search for users.

Add a User (or Administrator):

1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the employee ID and name.

3. Add credentials:

– Face Picture: Tap the Face Picture field, position your face looking at the camera, and tap Save.

– Fingerprint: Tap the Fingerprint field and place your finger on the module as instructed. Up to 10 fingerprints per user.

– Card: Tap the Card field and enter the card number manually or swipe the card over the swiping area.

– Password: Tap the Password field and create a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters).

4. To make the user an administrator, enable the Administrator Permission function.

5. Set the authentication mode (Device or Custom).

6. Tap the checkmark to save the settings.

Search and Edit a User:

1. On the User Management page, tap the search icon.

2. Select a search type (Card No., Employee ID, etc.) and enter the information to search.

3. Select a user from the list to enter the Edit User page.

4. Edit the parameters as needed and tap the checkmark to save. The employee ID cannot be edited.

You can import/export user data, user pictures, access control parameters, and more via the Transfer page.

Export Data:

1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

2. Tap Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., etc.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the connected USB flash drive.

Import Data:

1. Plug a USB flash drive containing the data into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB flash drive to the device.

Note on Importing Pictures:

• The supported USB flash drive format is FAT32.

• Pictures should be saved in a root directory named `enroll_pic`.

• The picture file name must follow the rule: `Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg`.

• The employee ID must be less than 32 characters.

• The picture format must be JPEG or JPG, with a resolution of 640 × 480 pixels or more, and a size between 60 KB and 200 KB.

After configuration, you can authenticate via 1:1 matching or 1:N matching.

Authenticate via 1:1 Matching (e.g., Card and Face):

1. Swipe your card in the card swiping area.

2. Continue authentication by positioning your face looking at the camera. If the mode includes a fingerprint, authenticate the fingerprint on the module when prompted.

3. If authentication succeeds, the prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

Authenticate via 1:N Matching (e.g., Face only):

1. Position your face looking at the camera to start face authentication.

2. If authentication is completed, a prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

Authenticate via 1:1 and 1:N Matching (e.g., Fingerprint and Face):

1. Authenticate your fingerprint first as prompted on the screen (1:N matching).

2. When prompted to “Continue to authenticate,” position your face looking at the camera to start face authentication (1:1 matching).

On the Home page, tap System to enter the System Settings page where you can set basic, face, and fingerprint parameters.

Basic Parameters:

Face Picture Parameters:

In the Face Pic. tab, you can set parameters like 1:N Security Level, 1:1 Security Level, Recognition Interval, Face Anti-Spoofing, Liveness Security Level, Pitch/Yaw Angle, and WDR Level.

Fingerprint Parameters:

In the Fingerprint tab, you can select the fingerprint security level. A higher level means a lower false acceptance rate (FAR) but a higher false rejection rate (FRR).

Tap T&A Status on the Home page to set the attendance mode.

Disable Attendance Mode:

Set Attendance Mode to Disable. You will not view or configure attendance status on the initial page.

Set Manual Attendance:

1. Set Attendance Mode to Manual.

2. Enable the Attendance Status function.

3. When authenticating, you must select the attendance status manually.

Set Auto Attendance:

1. Set Attendance Mode to Auto.

2. Select an attendance status (e.g., Check In, Break Out) and set its schedule. The system will automatically mark the authentication based on the configured schedule.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance:

1. Set Attendance Mode to Manual and Auto.

2. Configure schedules for different statuses. The system will auto-assign status based on the schedule, but you can also manually override it by tapping Select Status during authentication.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to configure these parameters.

Upgrade Firmware:

1. Plug in a USB flash drive with the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory.

2. Tap System → Maint. → Upgrade.

3. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade. Do not power off during the upgrade.

Data Management:

1. Tap Data on the Home page.

2. Tap a button to manage data:

– Delete All Events: Deletes all events stored in the device.

– Delete User Data: Deletes all user data in the device.

– Delete Captured Pic.: Deletes the device’s captured pictures.

– Restore to Factory: Restores the system to factory settings. The device will reboot.

– Restore to Default: Restores parameters to default but saves communication and remote user settings. The device will reboot.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window to confirm.

Recommended Finger:

Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

Correct Scanning:

Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the scanner’s center.

Incorrect Scanning to Avoid:

• Placing the finger vertically.

• Placing only the edge of the finger on the scanner.

• Placing the side of the finger on the scanner.

Environment:

The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain. If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it. You can try blowing on your finger and scanning again.

Others:

If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods. If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it; try using a different finger.

Positions (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

• Ensure your face is at the recommended height (1.4 m to 1.9 m).

• Avoid being too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera.

Expression:

Keep your expression natural, like the sample expression in the device interface.

Accessories & Makeup:

• Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can affect facial recognition.

• Do not let your hair cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

Position your face looking directly at the camera to get a good quality and accurate picture. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

Make sure your face is in the middle of the collecting window. Avoid being too close or too far.

The wake-up distance of the device varies based on lighting conditions, the object being detected (e.g., a wall, a person), and the distance setting (Short, Medium, Long). The following table provides reference values:
