Please follow these safety instructions to ensure correct use of the HIKVISION DS-K1T607M and to avoid danger or property loss.

Dangers:

• All electronic operations should strictly comply with electrical safety regulations, fire prevention regulations, and other related regulations in your local region.

• Use the power adapter provided by a normal company. The equipment is intended to be supplied from a Class 2 surge-protected power source rated DC 12V, 3A.

• Do not connect several devices to one power adapter, as adapter overload may cause overheating or a fire hazard.

• Ensure the power has been disconnected before you wire, install, or dismantle the device.

• When the product is installed on a wall or ceiling, the device shall be firmly fixed.

• If smoke, odors, or noise rise from the device, turn off the power at once, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.

• This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. Seek immediate medical attention if you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body.

• If the product does not work properly, contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Never attempt to disassemble the device yourself.

Cautions:

• Do not drop the device or subject it to physical shock, and do not expose it to high electromagnetism radiation. Avoid installation on vibrating surfaces or places subject to shock.

• Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations, and do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation.

• The device cover for indoor use shall be kept from rain and moisture.

• Exposing the equipment to direct sunlight, low ventilation, or heat sources like heaters or radiators is forbidden.

• Do not aim the device at the sun or extra bright places.

• Use the provided glove when opening the device cover to avoid direct contact, as acidic sweat from fingers may erode the surface coating.

• Use a soft and dry cloth when cleaning inside and outside surfaces of the device cover; do not use alkaline detergents.

• Improper use or replacement of the battery may result in an explosion hazard. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Biometric recognition products are not 100% applicable to anti-spoofing environments. If you require a higher security level, use multiple authentication modes.

• Working temperature: -30 °C to +60 °C.

• Indoor and outdoor use. If installing indoors, the device should be at least 2 meters away from light and at least 3 meters away from a window or door. If installing outdoors, apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

• Protection level: IP65.

• If installing the HIKVISION DS-K1T607M indoors, the device should be at least 2 meters away from the light, and at least 3 meters away from the window or the door.

• If installing the device outdoors, you should apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

• Make sure the environment illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• Make sure the output of the external power supply fulfills LPS.

Follow these steps to install the device with a gang box:

Step 1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

Step 2. Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

Step 3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

Step 4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

Step 5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

Step 6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

Step 7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

Step 8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

Step 9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part.

Step 10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

Step 11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

Follow these steps to install the device without a gang box:

Step 1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

Step 2. Drill 6 holes on the wall or other surface according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 in the mounting template.

Step 3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews in the drilled holes.

Step 4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and secure it with screws.

Step 5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

Step 6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

Step 7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

Step 8. Apply Silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

Step 9. Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part if applicable.

Step 10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

Step 11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

The wiring terminals on the HIKVISION DS-K1T607M are described below:

You must activate the HIKVISION DS-K1T607M before the first login. After powering on the device, the system will switch to the Device Activation page. The default IP address is 192.0.0.64, the default port is 8000, and the default user name is admin.

To activate via the device itself:

Step 1. On the Activate Device page, create a password and confirm the password.

Step 2. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

It is highly recommended to use a strong password with a minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters to increase security.

SADP is a tool to detect, activate, and modify the IP address of the device over a LAN. The device and the PC running SADP must be on the same subnet.

Step 1. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.

Step 2. Find and select your device from the online device list.

Step 3. Input a new admin password and confirm the password. Create a strong password for better security.

Step 4. Click Activate to start activation. The status of the device will become Active.

Step 5. To modify the IP address, select the device again.

Step 6. Change the device IP address to the same subnet as your computer, either manually or by checking Enable DHCP.

Step 7. Input the admin password and click Modify to apply the IP address modification.

After activating the device, you should select modes for better application and face recognition.

Set Application Mode:

Step 1. On the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

Step 2. Tap OK to save. If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

Set Recognition Mode:

Step 1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes faces via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: Can recognize a much wider range of people and is applicable to more complicated environments.

Step 2. Tap OK to save. The normal and deep modes are not compatible, so it is suggested not to change this parameter once configured.

Login for the First Time:

Step 1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entering page.

Step 2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password.

Step 3. Tap OK to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator:

After you have added an administrator, only the administrator can log in for device operation.

Step 1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

Step 2. Authenticate the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

On the user management interface, you can add, edit, delete, and search users.

Add an Administrator:

Step 1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID (less than 32 characters, combination of letters and numbers, not starting with 0, not duplicated).

Step 3. Tap the Name field and input the user name (up to 32 characters).

Step 4. Optional: Add a face picture, fingerprint, card, or password for the administrator.

Step 5. Enable the Administrator Permission function.

Step 6. Optional: Select a schedule template.

Step 7. Tap the save icon to save the settings.

Add Face Picture:

Step 1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Face Picture field to enter the face picture adding page.

Step 4. Position your face looking at the camera, ensuring it is within the outline.

Step 5. Tap Save to save the face picture. The maximum duration for adding a face picture is 15 seconds.

Add Fingerprint:

Step 1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Fingerprint field to enter the Add Fingerprint page.

Step 4. Place your finger on the fingerprint module and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 5. After completion, tap Yes on the pop-up to save the fingerprint. Up to 10 fingerprints can be added for one user.

Add Card:

Step 1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Card field and input the card number by entering it manually or swiping the card over the swiping area.

Step 4. Optional: Enable the Duress Card function if needed.

Add Password:

Step 1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Password field and create a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters) and confirm it.

After adding a user’s credentials (fingerprint, face, password, etc.), you should set their authentication mode.

Step 1. On the Add User or Edit User page, tap Authentication Mode.

Step 2. Select Device or Custom as the authentication mode.

• Device: If you select device mode, you should first set the terminal authentication mode in the Access Control Settings page.

• Custom: You can combine different authentication modes together according to your needs.

Step 3. Tap the save icon to save the settings.

You can import or export user data, pictures, and access control parameters via the Transfer page.

Export Data:

Step 1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

Step 2. Tap Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

Step 3. Tap Yes on the pop-up page, and the data will be exported to the connected USB flash drive. The supported USB format is DB, and the drive should be 1G to 32G with more than 512M free space.

Import Data:

Step 1. Plug a USB flash drive into the device.

Step 2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

Step 3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window, and the data will be imported from the USB flash drive to the device. The supported format is FAT32.

Authentication can be done via 1:1 matching or 1:N matching, based on the configured mode.

Authenticate via 1:1 Matching (e.g., Card and Face):

Step 1. Swipe your card in the card swiping area.

Step 2. Position your face looking at the camera to authenticate your face. If authentication is successful, the prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

Authenticate via 1:N Matching (e.g., Face only):

Step 1. Position your face looking at the camera to start face authentication. If authentication is successful, the prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

On the Home page, tap System to enter the System Settings page. Here you can configure the following basic parameters:

You can set the attendance mode for check in, check out, break out, break in, etc.

Disable Attendance Mode:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status on the Home page.

Step 2. Set the Attendance Mode as Disable. You will not view or configure attendance status on the initial page.

Set Manual Attendance:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status.

Step 2. Set the Attendance Mode as Manual.

Step 3. Enable the Attendance Status function. You must manually select the attendance status after authentication.

Set Auto Attendance:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status.

Step 2. Set the Attendance Mode as Auto.

Step 3. Select an attendance status and set its schedule. The system will automatically mark the attendance based on the configured schedule.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status.

Step 2. Set the Attendance Mode as Manual and Auto. The system automatically applies the status based on the schedule, but you can also manually change it by tapping Select Status.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to configure the following parameters:

Upgrade Firmware:

Step 1. Plug in a USB flash drive with the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory.

Step 2. Tap Maint. (Maintenance) on the System Settings page.

Step 3. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware. Do not power off during the upgrade.

Data Management:

Step 1. Tap Data (Data Management) from the main menu.

Step 2. Tap the button for the desired action:

• Delete All Events: Deletes all events stored in the device.

• Delete User Data: Deletes all user data in the device.

• Delete Captured Pic.: Deletes all captured pictures.

• Restore to Factory: Restores the system to factory settings. The device will reboot.

• Restore to Default: Restores parameters to default but saves communication and remote user settings. The device will reboot.

Step 3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window to confirm.

Log Query:

Step 1. On the Home page, tap Log.

Step 2. Select a search type (e.g., Card, Name, Employee ID) from the drop-down list.

Step 3. Input the search criteria.

Step 4. Select a time period (Custom, Yesterday, This Week, etc.).

Step 5. Tap the search icon to view the results.

After adding the device to the client software, you can initiate two-way audio calls.

Call Client Software from the Device:

Step 1. Add the device to the client software.

Step 2. On the device’s initial page, tap Call.

Step 3. Input 0 in the pop-up window and tap Call.

Step 4. Tap Answer on the pop-up in the client software to start two-way audio.

Call Device from Client Software:

Step 1. Add the device to the client software.

Step 2. Enter the Live View page and double-click the device to start live view.

Step 3. Right-click the live view image and select Start Two-Way Audio.

Recommended Finger:

Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

Correct Scanning:

Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the scanner center.

Environment:

The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain. If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it. You can blow on your finger and scan again.

Others:

If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods. If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it. Try using a different finger.

Positions (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

Ensure your face is at the recommended height (1.4 m to 1.9 m) and not too high, low, close, or far from the camera.

Expression:

Keep your expression natural when collecting or comparing face pictures.

Accessories and Makeup:

• Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can affect facial recognition.

• Do not let your hair cover your eyes, ears, etc. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

To get a good quality and accurate face picture, position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

Make sure your face is in the middle of the collecting window. Avoid being too close or too far.
