Please follow these safety instructions to ensure correct use of the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW and to avoid danger or property loss.

Dangers:

• All electronic operations should be in strict compliance with the electrical safety regulations, fire prevention regulations, and other related regulations in your local region.

• Use the power adapter provided by a normal company. This equipment is intended to be supplied from a Class 2 surge-protected power source rated DC 12V, 3A.

• Do not connect several devices to one power adapter, as adapter overload may cause overheating or a fire hazard.

• Ensure that the power has been disconnected before you wire, install, or dismantle the device.

• When the product is installed on a wall or ceiling, it must be firmly fixed.

• If smoke, odors, or noise rise from the device, turn off the power at once, unplug the power cable, and contact the service center.

• Do not ingest the battery, as it is a Chemical Burn Hazard. This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you suspect batteries have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

• If the product does not work properly, contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Do not attempt to disassemble the device yourself.

Cautions:

• Do not drop the device or subject it to physical shock, and do not expose it to high electromagnetism radiation. Avoid installation on vibrating surfaces or places subject to shock.

• Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations. Do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation.

• The device cover for indoor use must be kept away from rain and moisture.

• Do not expose the equipment to direct sunlight, low ventilation, or heat sources such as a heater or radiator.

• Do not aim the device at the sun or extra bright places to avoid blooming or smear, which can affect sensor endurance.

• Use the provided glove when opening the device cover to avoid direct contact, as acidic sweat from fingers can erode the surface coating.

• Use a soft and dry cloth for cleaning inside and outside surfaces of the device cover. Do not use alkaline detergents.

• Keep all wrappers after unpacking for future use. In case of failure, you need to return the device to the factory with the original wrapper.

• Improper use or replacement of the battery may result in an explosion hazard. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

• Biometric recognition products are not 100% applicable to anti-spoofing environments. For higher security, use multiple authentication modes.

• Working temperature: -30 °C to +60 °C.

• For indoor use, the device should be at least 2 meters away from light and at least 3 meters away from a window or door. For outdoor use, apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

• Protection level: IP65.

The parts of the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW Face Recognition Terminal are described below:

• For indoor installation, the device should be at least 2 meters away from any light source and at least 3 meters away from a window or door.

• For outdoor installation, apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to protect against rain.

• Ensure the environmental illumination is more than 100 Lux.

• The output of the external power supply must fulfill LPS requirements.

Follow these steps to install the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW with a gang box:

Step 1. Stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters above the ground, using the datum line on the template as a guide.

Step 2. Drill holes in the wall according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

Step 3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate to the gang box.

Step 4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate to the wall.

Step 5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel of the device and remove the sheet to expose the wiring terminals.

Step 6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect it to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

Step 7. Reinstall the sheet back onto the device with the two screws.

Step 8. Apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

Step 9. (Optional) If your model has a fingerprint module, insert it into the holes at the bottom of the main unit.

Step 10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on the plate.

Step 11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

Follow these steps to install the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW without a gang box:

Step 1. Stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters above the ground, using the datum line on the template.

Step 2. Drill 6 holes on the wall according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 on the mounting template.

Step 3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews into the drilled holes.

Step 4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and secure it.

Step 5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel of the device and remove the sheet to expose the wiring terminals.

Step 6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate and connect it to the corresponding external devices’ cables.

Step 7. Reinstall the sheet back onto the device with the two screws.

Step 8. Apply Silicone sealant around the cable wiring area to prevent rain from entering.

Step 9. If your model includes a fingerprint module, insert it into the holes at the bottom of the main unit.

Step 10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang it on the plate.

Step 11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device to the mounting plate.

The HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW contains terminals for power input, alarm input, alarm output, RS-485, Wiegand output, and door lock. The descriptions of the terminals are as follows:

Note on power cables:

• For 18 AWG cable, the distance between the power supply and device should be no more than 20m.

• For 15 AWG cable, the distance should be no more than 30m.

• For 12 AWG cable, the distance should be no more than 40m.

When connecting to peripherals, you should set the Wiegand direction to “Input” for a Wiegand card reader and “Output” for an access controller. The suggested external power supply for a door lock is 12V, 1A, and for a Wiegand card reader is 12V, 1A. The suggested power cable diameter is 22 AWG, and other cables 26 AWG.

You must activate the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW before the first login. After powering on, the device will enter the Device Activation page. Activation is supported via the device itself, SADP tool, or client software.

Activate via Device:

Step 1. On the Activate Device page, create a password and confirm it.

Step 2. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

We highly recommend using a strong password with a minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters, to increase security.

Activate via SADP:

Step 1. Run the SADP software to search for online devices.

Step 2. Select your inactive device from the list.

Step 3. Input a new password and confirm it.

Step 4. Click Activate. The device status will become Active.

Step 5. To modify the IP address, select the activated device, change the IP address to be on the same subnet as your computer (either manually or by enabling DHCP), input the admin password, and click Modify.

Activate via Client Software:

Step 1. Enter the Device Management page in the client software.

Step 2. Click Online Device to find devices on the network.

Step 3. Select an inactive device from the list.

Step 4. Click Activate to open the Activation dialog.

Step 5. Create a password in the password field and confirm it.

Step 6. Click OK to activate the device.

After activating the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW, you need to set the application and recognition modes.

Set Application Mode:

Step 1. On the Welcome page, select either Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

Step 2. Tap OK to save. If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

Set Recognition Mode:

Step 1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes faces via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: Can recognize a much wider range of people and is suitable for more complex environments.

Step 2. Tap OK to save. Note that normal mode and deep mode are not compatible, and it is suggested not to change this parameter once configured.

Login for the First Time:

Step 1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password page.

Step 2. Enter the device activation password.

Step 3. Tap OK to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator (after an administrator has been added):

Step 1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

Step 2. Authenticate using the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page. The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts. You can also tap the lock icon to log in with the device activation password.

You can configure Network, Wi-Fi, RS-485, and Wiegand parameters in the Communication Settings.

Set Network Parameters:

Step 1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

Step 2. Tap Network.

Step 3. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway to input the parameters.

Step 4. Tap OK to save the settings.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters:

Step 1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

Step 2. Tap Wi-Fi and enable the Wi-Fi function.

Step 3. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list.

Step 4. Select an IP mode. For Static, input the password, IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. For Dynamic, just input the password.

Step 5. Tap OK to save.

Set RS-485 Parameters:

Step 1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

Step 2. Tap RS-485.

Step 3. Select the external device type: Controller, Unit (secure door control unit), or Reader.

Step 4. Tap the save icon. The device will reboot if you change the external device.

Set Wiegand Parameters:

Step 1. Tap Comm. on the Home page.

Step 2. Tap Wiegand and enable the Wiegand function.

Step 3. Select a transmission direction: Output (to connect to an external access controller) or Input (to connect to a Wiegand card reader).

Step 4. Select the Wiegand mode (26 or 34).

Step 5. Tap the save icon. The device will reboot if you change the external device.

You can add, edit, delete, and search for users on the device’s user management interface.

Add Administrator:

Step 1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID (less than 32 characters, cannot start with 0, cannot be duplicated).

Step 3. Input the user name.

Step 4. (Optional) Add a face picture, fingerprint, card, or password for the administrator.

Step 5. (Optional) Set the authentication type.

Step 6. Enable the Administrator Permission function.

Step 7. (Optional) Select a schedule template.

Step 8. Tap the save icon.

Add Face Picture:

Step 1. Tap User → +.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Face Picture field.

Step 4. Position your face looking at the camera, ensuring it is within the outline. The maximum duration for adding a face picture is 15s.

Step 5. Tap Save. You can tap Try Again to recapture if needed.

Add Fingerprint (for supported models):

Step 1. Tap User → +.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Fingerprint field.

Step 4. Place your finger on the fingerprint module and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 5. After successful capture, tap Yes on the pop-up to save and add another fingerprint, or tap No to save and return to the Add User page. You can add up to 10 fingerprints per user.

Add Card:

Step 1. Tap User → +.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Card field and configure the card No. by either entering it manually or swiping the card over the card swiping area.

Step 4. (Optional) Enable the Duress Card function.

Add Password:

Step 1. Tap User → +.

Step 2. Edit the employee ID and name.

Step 3. Tap the Password field and create a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters).

Set Authentication Mode:

Step 1. On the Add User or Edit User page, tap Authentication Mode.

Step 2. Select Device (uses the terminal’s global setting) or Custom (combine different modes).

Step 3. Tap the save icon.

Search and Edit User:

• Search: On the User Management page, tap the search icon. Select a search type (Card, Employee ID, User Name), enter the details, and tap search.

• Edit: On the User Management page, select a user from the list to enter the Edit User page. Modify parameters and tap save. The employee ID cannot be edited.

You can import and export user data, pictures, and parameters using a USB flash drive via the Transfer page.

Export Data:

Step 1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

Step 2. Tap one of the export options: Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

Step 3. Tap Yes on the pop-up. The data will be exported to the connected USB flash drive. The supported USB format is DB, and the drive should be 1G to 32G with more than 512M free space.

Import Data:

Step 1. Plug a USB flash drive containing the data into the device.

Step 2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

Step 3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB drive. The supported format for this is FAT32.

Face Picture Import Requirements:

• Pictures should be saved in a root directory folder named `enroll_pic`.

• The picture file name should follow the rule: `Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg`.

• Employee ID must be less than 32 characters, not duplicated, and not start with 0.

• Pictures should be full-face view, JPEG/JPG format, 640×480 pixels or more, and between 60 KB and 200 KB.

The HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW authenticates users based on the configured authentication mode. It can use 1:1 matching or 1:N matching.

• 1:N Matching: Compares the captured face or fingerprint with all faces or fingerprints stored in the device.

• 1:1 Matching: Compares the captured face or fingerprint with the specific user’s stored data, usually after the user presents a card.

Authenticate via 1:1 Matching (e.g., Card and Face):

Step 1. Swipe your card in the card swiping area.

Step 2. Position your face looking at the camera to authenticate. If the mode also includes a fingerprint, you will be prompted to authenticate your fingerprint on the module.

If authentication succeeds, the prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

Authenticate via 1:N Matching (e.g., Face only):

Position your face looking at the camera to start face authentication. If authentication is completed, a prompt “Authenticated” will pop up.

Authenticate via 1:1 and 1:N Matching (e.g., Fingerprint and Face):

Step 1. Authenticate your fingerprint first as prompted on the screen (1:N Matching).

Step 2. When prompted to “Continue to authenticate,” position your face looking at the camera for face authentication (1:1 Matching against the user identified by the fingerprint).

On the System Settings page, you can configure basic parameters, face parameters, and fingerprint parameters. To access it, tap System on the Home page.

You can select the fingerprint security level. A higher level results in a lower false acceptance rate (FAR) but a higher false rejection rate (FRR).

You can set the time and attendance status on the HIKVISION DS-K1T607MFW. This function should be used with the time and attendance function on the client software.

Disable Attendance Mode:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status on the Home page.

Step 2. Set the Attendance Mode to Disable. The attendance status will not be displayed or configured on the initial page.

Set Manual Attendance:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status and set the Attendance Mode to Manual.

Step 2. Enable the Attendance Status function.

Result: You must manually select an attendance status (e.g., Check In, Check Out) after authentication.

Set Auto Attendance:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status and set the Attendance Mode to Auto.

Step 2. Select an attendance status and set its schedule. The system will automatically mark the attendance based on the configured schedule.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance:

Step 1. Tap T&A Status and set the Attendance Mode to Manual and Auto.

Step 2. Select an attendance status and set its schedule.

Result: The system will automatically mark attendance based on the schedule, but you can also manually tap “Select Status” to override it for a specific authentication.

You can set access control permissions by tapping ACS (Access Control Settings) on the Home page. Edit the parameters and tap the save icon.

Upgrade Firmware:

Step 1. Plug in a USB flash drive with the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory.

Step 2. Tap Maint. on the System Settings page.

Step 3. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade. Do not power off during the upgrade.

Data Management:

Step 1. Tap Data on the System Settings page.

Step 2. Tap a button to manage data and tap Yes on the confirmation pop-up.

Log Query:

Step 1. Tap Log on the Home page.

Step 2. Select a search type (Card, Employee ID, etc.) from the drop-down list.

Step 3. Input the search criteria.

Step 4. Select a time frame (Custom, Yesterday, This Week, etc.).

Step 5. Tap the search icon to view results.

After adding the device to the client software, you can perform two-way audio calls.

Call Client Software from Device:

Step 1. Add the device to the client software.

Step 2. On the device’s initial page, tap Call.

Step 3. Input 0 in the pop-up window and tap Call.

Step 4. On the client software, tap Answer on the pop-up to start two-way audio.

Call Master Station from Device:

Step 1. Add the device and the master station to the client software.

Step 2. Set the master station’s IP address and SIP address in the device’s remote configuration page.

Step 3. Tap the call button on the device. The device will call the master station.

Step 4. Answer the call on the master station to start two-way audio.

Call Device from Client Software:

Step 1. Add the device to the client software.

Step 2. Enter the Live View page and double-click the device to start live view.

Step 3. Right-click the live view image and select Start Two-Way Audio.

Call Indoor Station from Device:

Step 1. Add the device and the indoor station to the client software.

Step 2. Link a user to an indoor station and set a room number for it.

Step 3. Tap the call button on the device’s authentication page.

Step 4. Input the room number on the dial page and tap the call icon.

Step 5. After the indoor station answers, you can start two-way audio.

• Recommended Finger: Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

• Correct Scanning: Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your finger should align with the center of the scanner.

• Incorrect Scanning: Avoid placing your finger vertically, on the edge, or sideways on the scanner.

• Environment: The scanner should be protected from direct sunlight, high temperature, humidity, and rain. If your finger is too dry, blow on it before scanning.

• Others: If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods. If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it; try another finger.

• Position: The recommended distance from the device is 0.5 m. Ensure your face is not too high, too low, too close, or too far from the camera.

• Expression: Keep your expression natural, similar to the example in the manual. Do not wear hats, sunglasses, or other accessories that could obstruct facial recognition. Ensure your hair does not cover your eyes or ears, and heavy makeup is not allowed.

• Posture: Look directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

• Size: Make sure your face is centered in the collecting window.
