• If the product does not work properly, contact your dealer or the nearest service center. Never attempt to disassemble the device yourself.

Cautions:

• Do not drop the device or subject it to physical shock, and do not expose it to high electromagnetism radiation. Avoid installing the equipment on surfaces with vibrations or places subject to shock.

• Do not place the device in extremely hot, cold, dusty, or damp locations, and do not expose it to high electromagnetic radiation.

• The device cover for indoor use should be kept from rain and moisture.

• Exposing the equipment to direct sunlight, low ventilation, or heat sources such as a heater or radiator is forbidden.

• Do not aim the device at the sun or extra bright places. A blooming or smear may occur otherwise, affecting the sensor’s endurance.

• Use the provided glove when opening the device cover to avoid direct contact, as acidic sweat from fingers may erode the surface coating.

Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF with a gang box:

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill holes on the wall or other surface according to the mounting template and install the gang box.

3. Use two supplied screws (4_KA4 × 22-SUS) to secure the mounting plate on the gang box.

4. Use another four supplied screws to secure the mounting plate on the wall.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

9. Optional: Insert the fingerprint module into the holes at the bottom of the main part (for supported models).

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

Follow these steps to install your HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF without a gang box:

1. According to the datum line on the mounting template, stick the mounting template on the wall or other surface, 1.4 meters higher than the ground.

2. Drill 6 holes on the wall or other surface according to Hole 1 and Hole 2 in the mounting template.

3. Insert the screw sockets of the setscrews in the drilled holes.

4. Align the 6 holes of the mounting plate with the drilled holes and use the supplied screws to fix the mounting plate.

5. Remove the two screws on the rear panel and remove the sheet to display the wiring terminals.

6. Route the cable through the cable hole of the mounting plate, and connect to corresponding external devices’ cables.

7. Install the sheet back to the device with the two screws.

8. Apply silicone sealant among the cable wiring area to keep the raindrop from entering.

10. Align the device with the mounting plate and hang the device on the mounting plate.

11. Use two supplied screws (SC-M4 × 12TP10-SUS) to secure the device and the mounting plate.

The terminals on your HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF are used for power input, alarm input, alarm output, RS-485, Wiegand output, and door lock. Refer to the table below for descriptions of the terminals.

Notes on power supply cabling:

• If cable size is 18 AWG, use a 12 V power supply. The distance between the power supply and the device should be no more than 20 m.

• If the cable size is 15 AWG, use a 12 V power supply. The distance between the power supply and the device should be no more than 30 m.

• If the cable size is 12 AWG, use a 12 V power supply. The distance between the power supply and the device should be no more than 40 m.

You can connect the terminal with the secure door control unit. The secure door control unit should be connected to an external power supply separately. The suggested external power supply is 12V, 0.5A. Please refer to the wiring diagram in the user manual for detailed connections.

You must activate the HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF before the first login. After powering on, the system will switch to the Device Activation page. The default values are:

• Default IP address: 192.0.0.64

• Default port No.: 8000

• Default user name: admin

To activate via the device:

1. On the Activate Device page, create a strong password.

2. Confirm the password.

3. Tap Activate, and the device will be activated.

We highly recommend using a strong password with a minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters, to increase the security of your product.

Before you start, get the SADP software from the supplied disk or official source and install it. The device and the PC running SADP must be on the same subnet.

1. Run the SADP software and search for online devices.

2. Find and select your HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF from the online device list.

3. Input a new password (admin password) and confirm it. It is highly recommended to create a strong password.

4. Click Activate to start the activation. The device status will become Active.

5. To modify the IP address:

1) Select the device.

2) Change the device IP address to be on the same subnet as your computer, either manually or by checking Enable DHCP.

3) Input the admin password and click Modify to apply the IP address modification.

1. Enter the Device Management page in the client software.

2. Click on the right of Device Management and select Device.

3. Click Online Device to show the online device area. The searched online devices will be displayed.

4. Check the device status and select your inactive HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF.

5. Click Activate to open the Activation dialog.

6. Create a password in the password field and confirm it.

7. Click OK to activate the device.

After activating the device, you should configure the application and recognition modes.

Set Application Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, select Indoor or Others from the drop-down list.

• If you install the device indoors near a window or if face recognition is not working well, select Others.

• If you do not configure it, the system will select Indoor by default.

2. Tap OK to save.

Set Recognition Mode:

1. On the Welcome page, after selecting the application mode, select Normal Mode or Deep Mode from the drop-down list.

• Normal Mode: Recognizes faces via the camera normally.

• Deep Mode: Recognizes a much wider range of people, suitable for more complicated environments.

• If you do not configure it, the system will select Normal by default.

2. Tap OK to save.

Login For First Login:

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the password entering page.

2. Tap the Password field and enter the device activation password you created.

3. Tap OK to enter the home page. Note that the device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed password attempts.

Login by Administrator:

After you have added an administrator for the device, only the administrator can log in for device operation.

1. Long tap on the initial page for 3 seconds to enter the admin login page.

2. Authenticate the administrator’s face, fingerprint, or card to enter the home page.

• The device will be locked for 30 minutes after 5 failed fingerprint or card attempts.

• You can tap the lock icon to enter the device activation password for login as an alternative.

You can set network, Wi-Fi, RS-485, and Wiegand parameters on the communication settings page.

Set Network Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. (Communication Settings) on the Home page.

2. Tap Network to enter the Network tab.

3. Tap IP Address, Subnet Mask, or Gateway and input the parameters. The device’s IP address and the computer’s IP address should be in the same IP segment.

4. Tap OK to save the settings, then tap the checkmark icon to save the network parameters.

Set Wi-Fi Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page, then tap the Wi-Fi tab.

2. Enable the Wi-Fi function.

3. Select a Wi-Fi network from the list.

4. Select an IP mode. If Static, input the password, IP address, subnet mask, and gateway. If Dynamic, just input the Wi-Fi password.

5. Tap OK to save the settings, then tap the checkmark icon.

Set RS-485 Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page, then tap the RS-485 tab.

2. Select an external device (Controller, Unit, or Reader) according to your needs.

3. Set the RS-485 address as 2 if connecting to an access controller or card reader.

4. Tap the checkmark icon to save. The device will reboot if you change the external device.

Set Wiegand Parameters:

1. Tap Comm. on the Home page, then tap the Wiegand tab.

2. Enable the Wiegand function.

3. Select a transmission direction: Output (to connect to an external access controller) or Input (to connect to a Wiegand card reader).

4. Select Wiegand 26 or Wiegand 34 mode.

5. Tap the checkmark icon to save. The device will reboot if you change the external device.

You can add, edit, delete, and search users on the user management interface.

Add an Administrator:

1. Tap User → + to enter the Add User page.

2. Edit the employee ID (less than 32 characters, combination of letters and numbers, cannot start with 0, not duplicated).

3. Tap the Name field and input the user name (up to 32 characters).

4. Optionally, add a face picture, fingerprints, card, or password for the administrator.

5. Enable the Administrator Permission function.

6. Optionally, select a schedule template.

7. Tap the checkmark icon to save.

Add a Face Picture:

1. Tap User → +.

2. Edit the employee ID and Name.

3. Tap the Face Picture field.

4. Position your face looking at the camera, ensuring it is within the outline. The picture should be of good quality and accurate.

5. Tap Save to save the face picture. The maximum duration for adding a face is 15s.

Add a Fingerprint (on supported models):

1. Tap User → +.

2. Edit the employee ID and Name.

3. Tap the Fingerprint field.

4. Place your finger on the fingerprint module and follow the on-screen instructions.

5. After adding the fingerprint, tap Yes to save and continue adding another, or tap No to save and return to the Add User page.

Add a Card:

1. Tap User → +.

2. Edit the employee ID and Name.

3. Tap the Card field and configure the card number by entering it manually or swiping the card over the swiping area.

4. Optionally, enable the Duress Card function.

Add a Password:

1. Tap User → +.

2. Edit the employee ID and Name.

3. Tap the Password field and create a password (numbers only, up to 8 characters).

After adding a user’s credentials (fingerprint, face, password, etc.), you should set their authentication mode.

1. On the Add User or Edit User page, tap Authentication Mode.

2. Select Device or Custom as the mode.

• Device: The user will use the terminal’s default authentication mode set in the Access Control Settings page.

• Custom: You can combine different authentication modes (e.g., Face + Card) for this specific user.

3. Tap the checkmark icon to save the settings.

You can use a USB flash drive to import and export user data, pictures, and parameters.

Export Data:

1. Tap Transfer on the Home page.

2. Tap Export Att. Data, Export User Data, Export Face Pic., Export Access Control Param., or Export Captured Pic.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up page. The data will be exported to the USB flash drive.

• The supported USB flash drive format is DB.

• The system supports USB flash drives with storage from 1G to 32G. Ensure free space is more than 512M.

Import Data:

1. Plug a USB flash drive into the device.

2. On the Transfer page, tap Import User Data, Import Face Pic., or Import Access Control Param.

3. Tap Yes on the pop-up window. The data will be imported from the USB flash drive to the device.

• The supported USB flash drive format is FAT32.

• For face pictures, they should be saved in a root directory folder named ‘enroll_pic’. The picture file name should follow the rule: Card No._Name_Department_Employee ID_Gender.jpg.

• Requirements for face pictures: full-face view, no hat/head covering, JPEG/JPG format, resolution 640×480 pixel or more, size between 60 KB and 200 KB.

3. Select an attendance status and set its schedule. For example, if Break Out is scheduled for Monday 11:00 and Break In for Monday 12:00, authentications between these times will be marked as break.

Result: The system automatically marks the attendance status based on the schedule.

Set Manual and Auto Attendance:

1. Add at least one user first.

2. Tap T&A Status and set the Attendance Mode as Manual and Auto.

3. Select an attendance status and set its schedule.

Result: The system will mark attendance based on the schedule, but you can also manually tap “Select Status” to override it for a specific authentication event.

On the Home page, tap ACS (Access Control Settings) to configure the following parameters for your HIKVISION DS-K1T607EF:

Upgrade Firmware:

1. Plug in a USB flash drive containing the upgrade file (digicap.dav) in the root directory.

2. Tap Maint. (Maintenance) on the System Settings page.

3. Tap Upgrade. The device will automatically read the file and upgrade the firmware. Do not power off during the upgrade.

Call Master Station from Device:

1. Add the master station and the device to the client software.

2. Set the master station’s IP and SIP address in the remote configuration page.

3. Answer the call on the master station to start two-way audio.

Call Device from Client Software:

1. Add the device to the client software.

2. Enter the Live View page and double-click the device to start live view.

3. Right-click the live view image and select Start Two-Way Audio.

Call Indoor Station from Device:

1. Add the indoor station and the device to the client software.

2. Link a user to an indoor station and set a room number for it.

3. On the device’s authentication page, tap the call button.

4. Input the room number on the dial page and tap the call button.

5. After the indoor station answers, you can start two-way audio.

Recommended Finger:

• Use your forefinger, middle finger, or third finger.

Correct Scanning:

• Press your finger on the scanner horizontally. The center of your scanned finger should align with the scanner’s center.

Incorrect Scanning:

• Avoid placing your finger vertically, on the edge, or sideways on the scanner.

Environment:

• The scanner should avoid direct sunlight, high temperature, humid conditions, and rain.

• If your finger is too dry, the scanner may not recognize it. You can blow on your finger to add moisture and scan again.

Others:

• If your fingerprint is shallow or hard to scan, it is recommended to use other authentication methods.

• If you have injuries on the scanned finger, the scanner may not recognize it. Try using a different finger.

To get a good quality and accurate face picture, follow these tips:

Positions (Recommended Distance: 0.5 m):

• Ensure you are at the recommended height (1.4 m to 1.9 m) and not too high, low, close, or far from the camera.

Expression:

• Keep your expression natural, similar to a passport photo.

• Do not wear a hat, sunglasses, or other accessories that can affect facial recognition.

• Do not let your hair cover your eyes or ears. Heavy makeup is not allowed.

Posture:

• Position your face looking directly at the camera. Avoid tilting your head up, down, or to the side.

Size:

• Make sure your face is in the middle of the collecting window, not too close or too far.

Light Source Illumination Reference Value:

• Candle: 10 Lux

• Bulb: 100~850 Lux

• Sunlight: More than 1200 Lux

Installation Location:

• Install the device at least 2 meters away from any light source.

• Install the device at least 3 meters away from a window or door.

Avoid:

• Avoid backlight, direct sunlight, and indirect sunlight through a window. Do not install the device too close to a light source.
