The front panel of the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M includes:

• LCD touchscreen: A 10.1-inch touchscreen with 1280×800 (WXGA) resolution, made with tough, scratch-resistant glass.

• Motion sensor (two): Detects motion between 3 to 5 feet (0.9 to 1.5 meters) from the touchpanel, at least 15° from the center axis. When Sleep Mode and Wake on Motion are enabled, the touchpanel will enter sleep mode after a period of no motion and will wake up when motion is detected.

• Communication LED: Shows the configuration and connection status. It is unlit during normal operation, blinks if configured but not connected to a processor, and lights steadily if not configured. This can be enabled/disabled in the On-screen Menus.

• Light sensor: Monitors ambient light and adjusts screen brightness accordingly if Auto Brightness is enabled.

• Front status light (two): Two LEDs (one on each side) that can be configured to blink or remain lit, in red or green, to provide system feedback.

The rear panel of the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M includes the following:

• MENU button: Activates the On-screen Menus for configuration.

• RESET button: Allows the unit to be reset in several different modes, and can also be used to toggle the DHCP client.

• Reset LED: Provides feedback about the reset status when the RESET button is pressed.

• Mounting slots (four): One in each corner for securing the touchpanel to a mounting plate.

• Digital input monitoring port: A two-pole captive screw port (1=signal, G=ground) that monitors digital input with or without a +5 VDC pull-up. The port’s logic states are as follows:

The EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M must be powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE). You must provide your own PoE power injector or use a PoE-enabled network switch.

To use a PoE injector:

1. Connect a straight-through Ethernet cable from the power injector’s “LAN” port to your network switch or router. This cable carries network information.

2. Connect a second straight-through Ethernet cable from the power injector’s “LAN + PWR OUT” (or similarly labeled) port to the LAN/PoE port on the touchpanel. This cable carries both network information and 48 VDC power.

3. Connect the IEC power cord of the power injector to a convenient 100 VAC to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz power source.

Alternatively, you can connect the touchpanel directly to a port on a PoE switch.

To access the setup menu for initial configuration, use a small screwdriver with a fine blade to press the MENU button located on the rear panel of the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M.

The menus open to the Status screen. There are several panels you can navigate to using the buttons at the top of the screen:

• Status: Provides a read-only summary of the touchpanel’s basic information.

• Network: Configure IP address, DHCP, and other network settings.

• Display: Adjust sleep timer, brightness, and motion sensor settings.

• Audio: Control system, click, and sound volumes.

• Advanced: View project information and configure certain hardware features.

The selected panel’s button is yellow, while the others are black. From the Status screen, you can also access the LinkLicenses and System Information panels.

To save any changes and close the menu screens, press the red Exit button in the top right corner.

You can enable or disable a LinkLicense from the Status screen in the on-screen menus. A LinkLicense must first be applied to the touchpanel for the toggle switch to be active.

To Enable LinkLicense:

1. From the Status screen, locate the LinkLicenses pane.

2. Move the toggle switch to the right (on position). An “Enable LinkLicenses” dialog box will open, warning you that all user-loaded project files will be removed.

3. Click Enable LinkLicenses. The touchpanel will reboot with the LinkLicense enabled, functioning as a control processor.

To Disable LinkLicense:

1. From the Status screen, move the toggle switch in the LinkLicenses pane to the left (off position). A “Disable LinkLicenses” dialog box opens.

2. Click Disable LinkLicenses. The touchpanel will reboot with the LinkLicense disabled.

NOTE: Enabling or disabling a LinkLicense will remove all projects from the touchpanel, and they will need to be reloaded.

Pairing connects the touchpanel to a primary control processor. This is done from the System Information section of the Status tab in the on-screen menus. This process does not apply if the touchpanel is in LinkLicense mode, as it acts as its own controller.

1. On the Status page, in the System Information panel, click Edit. The System ID dialog box opens.

2. Enter the Primary Controller Address (the IP address of the control processor).

3. Enter the System ID. This is a four-digit number generated by ControlScript Deployment Utility or Global Configurator Plus/Professional that is needed to link the touchpanel to the control processor.

4. Click Save.

The dialog box closes, and the Primary Controller Address and System ID are now displayed in the System Information pane, indicating a successful pairing.

You can configure network settings from the Network screen in the on-screen menus. Verify with your network administrator whether the IP address should be assigned by DHCP or set manually.

1. Press the Network button at the top of the screen.

2. Select the Max Ethernet Speed (100Mbps or 1.0Gbps).

3. DHCP Configuration:

• If IP addresses are assigned by DHCP, press On. The IP address fields will be grayed out as they are set by the DHCP server. You can edit the Host Name.

• If IP addresses are assigned manually, press Off. The Host Name will be grayed out. You can now edit the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and DNS Primary fields.

4. Manual IP Address Entry (if DHCP is Off):

• Press the button for the address you wish to edit (e.g., IP Address).

• A numeric keypad will appear. Select an octet and enter the 3-digit value (0-255).

• Press OK to save the changes for that address and return to the Network screen.

5. After making changes, the Apply and Revert buttons become active. Press Apply to save all new network settings or Revert to discard them. Once applied, the buttons will gray out.

Display settings can be adjusted from the Display screen in the on-screen menus.

• Sleep Timer: Toggle between On and Off. When On, the screen goes dark (Sleep mode) after a period of inactivity to save power. Use the up and down arrows to set the inactivity period from 1 to 120 minutes. If Off, the panel does not enter sleep mode.

• Auto Brightness: Toggle between On and Off. When On, the light sensor monitors ambient light and automatically adjusts the screen’s backlighting. When Off, the screen brightness is not affected by changes in ambient light.

• LCD Brightness: Use the slider control to manually adjust the screen brightness on a scale from 0 to 100.

• Wake on Motion: Toggle between On and Off. For this to work, the touchpanel must be in sleep mode. When On, any motion detected by the motion sensor will wake the panel. When Off, the panel does not wake in response to motion; it must be woken by touching the screen.

Audio settings are managed on the Audio screen in the on-screen menus. Use the slider controls to adjust the volume for each category.

• System: Sets the maximum volume for all other sound settings. For example, if System volume is at 80, a Sound volume set to 90 will be 90% of 80, which is 72% of the absolute maximum.

• Click: Sets the volume for the audible feedback you hear when a screen button is pressed.

• Sound: Sets the volume of audio from any audio file playback.

• Speaker icon: Click the speaker icon at the bottom of each panel to toggle the audio between on and mute for that specific category.

You can enable, disable, or change the setup menu PIN from the Advanced screen. The PIN is a 4-digit number, with each digit ranging from 0-9.

1. In the Menu PIN section of the Advanced screen, choose an option:

• Click On to enable the use of a PIN.

• Click Off to disable the use of a PIN.

• Click Change to edit an existing PIN.

2. If you are setting a new PIN or changing an existing one, a numeric keypad dialog opens for “Enter New Menu PIN”.

3. Press four numbers on the keypad to enter your desired PIN. As you enter them, blue circles will appear in the boxes at the top.

4. After the fourth digit is entered, the screen changes to “Confirm New Menu Pin”.

5. Enter the same 4-digit PIN a second time. If it matches the first entry, the PIN is set, and the dialog closes.

Firmware can be upgraded using the Extron Toolbelt software. Before you begin, ensure the touchpanel has a unique IP address and is connected to the same network as your computer.

1. From the Extron home page, select the Downloads tab, then click Firmware.

2. In the Search Firmware text box, start typing the product name (“TLP Pro x25 Series”). The name will appear in a drop-down list.

3. Click the firmware name. Information about the latest firmware version will be displayed.

4. Click the Download button for the active version.

5. Enter any required information and click the download button to save the file to your computer.

6. Go to your Downloads folder and run the file to install the firmware on your PC. By default, it is stored at `C:\\Program Files (x86)\Extron\Firmware\<product name>\<firmware version>`.

7. Open the Extron Toolbelt software and use it to upload this newly installed firmware file to your touchpanel. For specific instructions on using Toolbelt for firmware updates, refer to the Toolbelt Help File.

The EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M mounts to a 2-gang junction box.

1. Install a 2-gang junction box or wall box according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Fasten the correct mounting plate to the wall box using the provided screws. Use the mounting holes on the plate that are appropriate for your type of junction box (US, MK, or EU).

3. Run and connect the necessary cables to the back of the touchpanel.

4. Position the touchpanel so that the four mounting slots on its rear align with the four hooks on the mounting plate.

5. Move the touchpanel inwards so that the slots move over the hooks.

6. Move the touchpanel down so it is seated securely on the hooks and the tongue at the bottom of the mounting plate is sitting in the corresponding groove in the bottom of the touchpanel.

7. Tighten the mounting screw on the bottom of the touchpanel to fasten it securely to the mounting plate.

To safely clean your EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M, especially the touchscreen, follow these guidelines. All Extron products can be safely cleaned with:

• 70% concentration or higher isopropyl alcohol

• Disinfectant cleaners that are non-ammonium based and contain 2% or less sodium hypochlorite (2% bleach, 98% water).

Follow these general steps when cleaning:

1. If possible, unplug the device.

2. Spray the cleaner on a lint-free cloth until the cloth is damp.

3. Do not spray the cleaner directly onto the product itself.

4. Gently clean the product surface using the damp cloth.

The EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M has three reset modes initiated by pressing the recessed RESET button on the rear panel.

Use Factory Firmware

This mode boots the unit with its factory-installed firmware for a single power cycle, which is useful if a firmware update fails.

1. Remove power from the touchpanel.

2. Press and hold the RESET button while re-applying power. The Reset LED will light up.

3. Continue holding the RESET button for 2 more seconds, then release it. The touchpanel enters factory firmware mode. You can now upload new firmware.

Reset Network Settings

This mode resets all IP settings to factory defaults.

1. Hold down the RESET button for about 6 seconds until the Reset LED blinks twice (once at 3 seconds, again at 6 seconds).

2. Within 1 second, release and momentarily press the RESET button again (for less than 1 second). This resets the IP address to 192.168.254.251, subnet to 255.255.255.0, gateway to 0.0.0.0, and turns DHCP off.

Full Factory Reset

This mode resets all IP and touchpanel settings (including passwords) to factory defaults and removes all configurations, except for the firmware.

1. Hold down the RESET button for about 9 seconds until the Reset LED blinks three times (at 3, 6, and 9 seconds).

2. Within 1 second, release and momentarily press the RESET button again. The unit will be reset to its original factory state.

You can toggle the DHCP client between enabled and disabled using the RESET button. This feature is supported on firmware version 3.0 or higher.

1. Press the RESET button five times consecutively.

2. Release the button. Do not press the button again within 3 seconds following the fifth press.

• If DHCP was enabled, it is now disabled. The Reset LED blinks three times. The unit reverts to its previously-set static IP address.

• If DHCP was disabled, it is now enabled. The Reset LED blinks six times.

To create an 802.1X security certificate for uploading to the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M, ensure the certificate file meets the following requirements:

• It must contain X.509 certificate information.

• It must contain a private key (for machine certificates only).

• It must be PEM encoded. DER encoded files (with .der, .crt, or .cer extensions) must be converted to PEM format before use.

• It must have a file extension of .crt or .pem.

• Its file name must consist only of the following valid characters:

– Alphanumerical (A-Z, a-z, 0-9)

– Special characters: colon [:], underscore [_], and hyphen [-]

• Spaces are not permitted anywhere in the file name.

Private key files are required only when using machine certificates for 802.1X authentication. When creating a private key for the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP PRO 1025M, follow these requirements:

• Its file name consists of the following types of valid characters:

– Alphanumerical (A-Z, a-z, 0-9)

– Some special characters (colon [:], underscore [_], and hyphen [-])

• It has a file extension that is .key or .pem.

• It can have optional encryption (via password or passphrase).
