3. Connect the IEC power cord of the power injector to a convenient 100 VAC to 240 VAC, 50-60 Hz power source.

Alternatively, you can connect the touchpanel directly to a PoE-enabled network switch.

To open the setup menu on your EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M, use a screwdriver with a fine blade to press the MENU button located on the rear panel of the device.

The menus open at the Status screen. There are seven different panels you can navigate to:

• Status
• LinkLicenses
• System Information
• Network
• Display
• Audio
• Advanced

You can select these panels by pressing the appropriate button in the navigation panel at the top of the screen. The selected button will turn yellow. The Status screen provides a read-only summary of the touchpanel’s basic information.

To apply and save any changes and close the menus, press the red Exit button in the top right corner of the screen.

You can enable or disable the LinkLicense feature from the Status screen in the on-screen menus. A LinkLicense must be applied to the touchpanel for the toggle switch to be active.

To enable LinkLicenses:

1. From the Status screen, locate the LinkLicenses panel.

2. Set the “LinkLicense for TLP Pro Control Processor” switch to on by moving the toggle switch to the right.

3. The “Enable LinkLicenses” dialog box opens, warning you that this action will remove all user-loaded project files and reboot the device.

4. Click “Enable LinkLicenses”. The touchpanel will reboot. All previous projects will be removed and need to be reloaded.

To disable LinkLicenses:

1. From the Status screen, locate the LinkLicenses panel.

2. Set the “LinkLicense for TLP Pro Control Processor” switch to off by moving the toggle switch to the left.

3. The “Disable LinkLicenses” dialog box opens, warning you that this action will remove all user-loaded project files and reboot the device.

4. Click “Disable LinkLicenses”. The touchpanel will reboot. All previous projects will be removed and need to be reloaded.

When not in LinkLicense mode, the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M must be connected (paired) to a primary control processor. Follow these instructions to pair the device:

1. From the Status screen in the on-screen menus, click Edit in the System Information panel.

2. The System ID dialog box opens.

3. Enter the Primary Controller Address (the IP address of the control processor).

4. Enter the System ID. This is a four-digit number generated by ControlScript Deployment Utility or Global Configurator Plus and Professional that is needed to link the touchpanel to the control processor.

5. Click Save.

The dialog box will close, and the Primary Controller Address and System ID will be displayed in the System Information pane.

You can configure the network settings from the Network screen in the on-screen menus. Verify with your network administrator whether the IP address should be assigned by DHCP or set manually.

1. From any on-screen menu, press the Network button in the top navigation panel.

2. Select the Max Ethernet Speed (100Mbps or 1.0Gbps).

3. For DHCP: Press the On button under DHCP. The Host Name can be edited, but the address fields will be grayed out as they are set by the DHCP server.

4. For Manual/Static IP: Press the Off button under DHCP. The Host Name will be grayed out, but all address fields (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS Primary) can be edited.

5. To edit a field, press the corresponding button. An on-screen keypad will appear. Enter the required information.

– For addresses, a numeric keypad appears. Select an octet and enter the 3-digit value. Valid values are between 0 and 255. Press OK to save.

– For the Host Name, an alphanumeric keypad appears. Enter the new name.

6. After making changes, the button’s background color turns blue. Press Apply to save the new values or Revert to discard them.

To configure the display settings, open the Display screen from the on-screen menus. This screen allows you to set the Sleep Timer, Auto Brightness, LCD Brightness, and Wake on Motion.

1. Press the Display button in the top navigation panel.

2. Sleep Timer: Toggle between On and Off. If On, use the up and down arrows to set the period of inactivity (1 to 120 minutes) before the screen goes dark (Sleep mode).

3. Auto Brightness: Toggle between On and Off. If On, the light sensor will automatically adjust screen backlighting based on ambient light. If Off, the screen brightness is not affected by ambient light.

4. LCD Brightness: Use the slider control to manually adjust the screen brightness between 0 and 100.

5. Wake on Motion: Toggle between On and Off. For this to work, the touchpanel must be in sleep mode. If On, any motion detected by the motion sensor will wake the panel. If Off, the panel wakes only by touching the screen.

To adjust audio settings, open the Audio screen from the on-screen menus. Here you can adjust System, Click, and Sound volume levels.

1. Press the Audio button in the top navigation panel.

2. System: Use the slider to set the maximum volume for all other sound settings. For example, if System volume is set to 80 (80%), a sound volume set to 90 would be 90% of 80, which is 72% of maximum.

3. Click: Use the slider to set the volume for audible feedback from screen button presses.

4. Sound: Use the slider to set the volume of audio from any audio file playback.

5. Speaker icon: Click the Speaker icon at the bottom of each panel to toggle between audio on and audio mute for that specific sound type.

The Advanced screen provides read-only information and access to settings for the rear status lights, communication LED, and a Menu PIN.

1. Press the Advanced button in the top navigation panel.

2. System and GUI Project Panels: These panels are read-only and provide information about the system, Global Configurator Project, and GUI Designer Project.

3. Rear Status Lights: The EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M has rear panel status lights. You can switch these on or off by pressing the Enable or Disable button.

4. Communication LED: The front communication LED can be switched on or off by pressing the Enable or Disable button.

5. Menu PIN: The PIN setup options allow you to enable, disable, or change the setup menu PIN. The PIN is a 4-digit number (0-9).

– Click On to enable a PIN, Off to disable it, or Change to edit an existing PIN.

– If setting or changing, a numeric keypad will appear. Enter the new 4-digit PIN.

– The screen will change to “Confirm New Menu Pin.” Enter the PIN a second time to confirm.

The TLP Pro 525, 725, and 1025 series touchpanels are compatible with GUI Designer, Global Configurator Plus and Professional, ControlScript Deployment Utility, and Toolbelt. To download this software:

1. On the Extron home page, select the Downloads tab.

2. If the software you need is listed under Featured Software, click on it directly to go to its product page.

3. Otherwise, click Software in the Downloads list.

4. In the Download Center, start typing the name of the software (e.g., “Toolbelt”) in the Search Software text box. The name will appear in a drop-down list.

5. Click the software name. Information about the software will appear below the search box.

6. Click the Download button. An executable file (.exe) will be placed in your default Downloads folder.

7. Run the executable file to install the software. By default, a new folder is created at C:\Program Files\Extron or C:\Program Files (x86)\Extron.

Firmware for the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M can be upgraded using the Toolbelt software. Before starting, ensure the touchpanel has a unique IP address and is on the same network as your computer.

1. On the Extron home page, select the Downloads tab.

2. Click Firmware in the Downloads list.

3. In the Search Firmware text box, start typing the product name (e.g., “TLP Pro x25 Series”). The firmware name will appear in a drop-down list.

4. Click the firmware name.

5. Information about the firmware appears. Click the Download button.

6. Enter any required information and click the download button.

7. Go to your Downloads folder and click the file to install the firmware on your PC. By default, it is stored at `C:\\Program Files (x86)\Extron\Firmware\\\\ `.

8. Upload this file to the touchpanel using Toolbelt. For specific instructions on using Toolbelt to update firmware, see the Toolbelt Help File.

The EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M mounts to a 2-gang junction box. Junction boxes must be purchased separately.

1. Install a junction box or wall box following the manufacturer’s instructions.

2. Fasten the correct mounting plate to the wall with the provided screws. Use the mounting holes appropriate for your junction box type (US, MK, or EU).

3. Run and connect cables to the back of the touchpanel.

4. Position the touchpanel so the mounting slots on its rear align with the hooks on the mounting plate. The TLP Pro 725M mounting plate has four hooks, one in each corner.

5. Move the touchpanel inwards so that the slots move over the hooks.

6. Move the touchpanel down so it is seated securely on the hooks and the tongue at the bottom of the mounting plate is sitting in a groove in the bottom of the touchpanel.

7. Tighten the mounting screw on the bottom of the touchpanel to fasten it to the mounting plate.

All Extron products, including the EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M, can be safely cleaned with:

– 70% concentration or higher isopropyl alcohol

– Disinfectant cleaners that are non-ammonium based and contain 2% or less sodium hypochlorite (2% bleach, 98% water).

Follow these general guidelines when cleaning:

1. If possible, unplug the device.

2. Spray the cleaner on a lint-free cloth until the cloth is damp.

3. Do not spray the cleaner directly onto the product.

4. Gently clean the product surface using the cloth.

The EXTRON TOUCHLINK TLP 725M has three reset modes initiated by the recessed RESET button on the rear panel.

Use Factory Firmware

This mode boots the unit with factory-installed firmware for a single power cycle, which is useful if a firmware update fails.

1. Remove power from the touchpanel.

2. Hold down the RESET button while re-applying power. When power is restored, the Reset LED lights. Hold the button for a further 2 seconds before releasing it.

3. The unit enters factory firmware mode. You can now upload new firmware. All user files and settings are maintained. To return to the previous firmware, simply cycle power to the unit.

Reset Network Settings

This mode resets all IP settings to factory defaults.

1. Hold down the RESET button for about 6 seconds until the Reset LED blinks twice (at 3 and 6 seconds).

2. Within 1 second, release and momentarily press the RESET button again (for <1 second).

3. This resets the IP address to 192.168.254.251, subnet to 255.255.255.0, gateway to 0.0.0.0, and turns DHCP off.

Full Factory Reset

This mode resets all IP and touchpanel settings, including passwords, to factory defaults and removes all configurations.

1. Hold down the RESET button for about 9 seconds until the Reset LED blinks three times (at 3, 6, and 9 seconds).

2. Within 1 second, release and momentarily press the RESET button again.

3. This performs a complete reset to factory defaults (except the firmware), removes the user interface layout, and resets all touchpanel settings. Passwords will be reset to the default (“extron”).

You can toggle the DHCP client between enabled and disabled using the RESET button. This feature is supported on firmware version 3.0 or higher.

Activation:

1. Press the RESET button five times consecutively.

2. Release the button. Do not press the button again within 3 seconds following the fifth press.

Result:

– If DHCP was enabled, it is now disabled. The Reset LED blinks three times. The unit reverts to its previously-set static IP address.

– If DHCP was disabled, it is now enabled. The Reset LED blinks six times.
