Finalizing a calculation on the CASIO MJ-12DA means performing a key operation that produces a calculation result. Pressing any of the following keys finalizes a calculation: [=], [%], [M+], or [M-].

How do I perform tax calculations with the CASIO MJ-12DA?
Setting a Tax Rate
Example: Tax rate = 10%
Press and hold [%] until SET appears. Then input the tax rate: 10 [%]. This sets the rate at 10%.
You can check the currently set rate by pressing and holding [%] and then pressing [TAX+].
Price-plus-tax Calculation
Example: Calculate price-plus-tax for $150 with a 10% tax rate.
Input: 150 [TAX+]. The result will be 165. The tax amount (15) will also be shown.
Price-less-tax Calculation
Example: Calculate price-less-tax for $165 with a 10% tax rate.

How can I review a past calculation on my CASIO MJ-12DA?
Before you can use review on the CASIO MJ-12DA, you must first finalize the current calculation. After finalizing a calculation, you can review it.
Key operations are stored in Calculation Memory as you input them. The memory can hold up to 150 steps. The step indicator on the display shows the step number.
To review the calculation, use the [▲] and [▼] keys to scroll through the steps.

Pressing [▼] reviews starting from the first step, while [▲] reviews from the last step. Each press of [▲] or [▼] scrolls by one step. Holding down either key scrolls at high speed.
How do I revise a calculation on the CASIO MJ-12DA?
On the CASIO MJ-12DA, you can make changes to a calculation while it is still in progress, or after it is finalized and stored in memory. When you revise a calculation, all steps after the point you edit are deleted.
To edit a calculation:
1. Use the [▲] or [▼] keys to display the step you want to edit.
2. Press the [CORRECT] key. The CORRECT indicator will appear on the display while Calculation Memory editing is enabled. You can only edit one step at a time.
3. Input the new value or function key. To cancel editing without making a change, press the [CORRECT] key again.
The result is always produced by the calculation. You cannot change a key inputting a result, but you can change the calculation that produces the result.
Important points for revising:
• Once you start the editing operation and then once again to end the operation, the rounding and decimal place settings of the calculator are automatically applied to the result.
• When you edit the contents of a calculation, the rounding and decimal place settings currently specified by the calculator are used. The settings are not those that were in effect for the original calculation.
• If an error occurs while you are inputting a number or calculation, pressing [CORRECT] lets you correct the input without having to re-input from the beginning.
• Calculation speed depends on the number of steps accumulated in Calculation Memory.
How do I change the numeric display format on the CASIO MJ-12DA?
The CASIO MJ-12DA calculator supports the Indian system of digit grouping. You can switch between the Indian and standard display formats.
To change the display format:
1. Press and hold down [=] until SET appears on the display. This sets the calculator to the first format (Standard).
2. Press [=] again to select the second format (Indian). When you do this, the display will show a test value in the new format.
3. Press [=] again to finalize the setting and exit setup. The display will clear.
You can toggle between the two numeric display formats by pressing [▼] and [▲] while the test value is displayed in step 2.
