Please follow these precautions when using your CASIO MH-10M:

• Be sure to keep all user documentation handy for future reference.

• If you suspect that the calculator is operating abnormally due to static electrical charge or some other problem, press AC to restore normal operation.

• Avoid dropping the calculator and otherwise subjecting it to severe impact.

• Never try to take the calculator apart.

• Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth to clean it.

• Replacing the battery or blocking the calculator from sunlight while battery power is low may cause your tax rate setting or memory contents to be changed or lost. Replace the battery as soon as possible when it becomes weak and correct the tax rate setting, if necessary.

The CASIO MH-10M features a Two-Way Power System that provides power even in complete darkness, using a solar cell and a single button-type battery (LR44).

• The battery that comes with this unit discharges slightly during shipment and storage. Because of this, it may require replacement sooner than the normal expected battery life.

Yes, the CASIO MH-10M has an Auto Power Off Function. The calculator will automatically power off approximately 6 minutes after the last key operation to conserve power.

To set a tax rate:

For example, to change the tax rate from 0% to 5%:

1. Press AC and then % (RATE SET) until “TAX” and “%” appear on the display, showing “0.”.

2. Press 5, then press % (RATE SET). The display will show “5.” indicating the new rate is set.

To check the current tax rate:

You can check the currently set rate by pressing AC and then TAX% (RATE).

Assuming a tax rate of 5% is set:

To calculate price-plus-tax:

Example: To find the total for a $150 item with 5% tax.

1. Press AC, then enter 150.

2. Press TAX+. The result will be 157.5 (Price-plus-tax).

3. To view only the tax amount, press TAX+ again. The result will be 7.5 (Tax).

To calculate price-less-tax:

Example: To find the price before tax for a $105 item.

1. Press AC, then enter 105.

2. Press TAX-. The result will be 100. (Price-less-tax).

3. To view only the tax amount, press TAX- again. The result will be 5. (Tax).

Example 1: Calculate Margin Percentage

If Cost (C) is $1000 and Selling Price (S) is $2000:

Press AC 1000 COST 2000 SELL MAR. The result is 50, which is the Margin %.

Example 2: Calculate Selling Price and Margin Amount

If Cost (C) is $120 and Margin (M) is 40%:

1. Press AC 120 COST 40 MAR MAR. The result is 80, which is the Margin Amount (MA).

2. Press SELL. The result is 200, which is the Selling Price (S).

Example 3: Calculate Cost

If Selling Price (S) is $150 and Margin (M) is 30%:

1. Press AC 150 SELL 30 MAR MAR. The result is 45, which is the Margin Amount (MA).

2. Press COST. The result is 105, which is the Cost (C).
