How does the calculation memory on the CASIO MJ-120DA work?
The CASIO MJ-120DA has a calculation memory feature with the following characteristics:
• A Review key is used to recall each step of the currently shown on the display.
• A finalize key operation and the result it produces is also a step. See “Finalizing a calculation” for details.
• A maximum of 150 calculation steps can be stored in memory. Pressing the key or until 150 steps are accumulated, even if a finalize key is not pressed.
• Pressing the [C] key clears the first 150 steps in Calculation Memory, even if there are more steps.
• An error will not stop a calculation that is in progress in memory.
• Pressing the [C] (ON) key clears all steps from Calculation Memory and a finalize key will not be pressed.
How do I finalize a calculation on the CASIO MJ-120DA?
Finalizing a calculation means performing a key operation that produces a calculation result. This includes any of the following keys that ends a calculation:
[=], [%], [M+], [M-], [GT]
The finalize key also ends the calculation, and stores the final results in Calculation Memory.
What kind of power supply does the CASIO MJ-120DA use?
The CASIO MJ-120DA features a Two-Way Power system, which operates on solar power when light is sufficient, and switches to battery power when light is insufficient.
• Always replace the battery at your nearest dealer.
• The battery that comes with the calculator discharges slightly during shipment and storage. Because of this, it may require replacement sooner than the normal expected battery life.
• This calculator is not equipped with an OFF switch. Instead, it contains an Auto Power Off function that turns power off automatically to save battery power. To restore power, press [C] (ON).
• Display figures may appear dim in extremely dark/bright ambient lighting.
• If the Auto Power Off function turns power off while the Review operation is in progress (when the Review indicator is on display), you can press the [C] (ON) key to restore power to where it was turned off.

The indicators on the display show the current status of the CASIO MJ-120DA:
• An indicator on the display shows you the status of the operation you are currently performing.
• If an indicator appears next to the value that is stored in the memory, it is a sign that the value is stored in this way.
• An indicator is also used to appear when no monitor.
• When you perform a memory calculation an indicator will appear, indicating that a value is stored in the memory. This indicator will flash whenever you recall the value.

The CASIO MJ-120DA stores up to 150 calculation steps in memory, which you can review and edit.
Reviewing a Calculation
After you are done with your input, you can review the steps in Calculation Memory. To review, use the up [▲] and down [▼] arrow keys. The Review indicator will be on the display while you are reviewing.
• Pressing [▲] reviews starting from the first step, while [▼] reviews from the last step.
• Each press of [▲] or [▼] scrolls by one step. Holding down either key scrolls continuously.
• You can press [C] at any time to exit the review operation. You can also exit the review operation by pressing any key. When you exit the calculation review operation by pressing any key, the memory and the content to be passed does not revert.
Editing a Calculation
You can edit a calculation you are reviewing. When you find a step you want to change, use the number keys to input a new value and then press the [C] (ON) key to make the correction.
• You can edit only one step.
• If you input a value and then press the [C] (ON) key, the key operation is not registered. It is just a change.
• The result is always produced by the calculation. You cannot change it by inputting a new value.
• After you make the changes you want, you can use the [▲] and [▼] keys to scroll. Once to start the editing operation and then once again to end the operation, you can press the [▲] key and the [▼] key. You must press them in the same order as before.
• When you edit the contents of a calculation, the rounding and decimal place settings you were using for the original calculation are automatically applied to the corrected result.
• If an error occurs while you are inputting a calculation or editing a calculation, you can use the right-shift key to clear the last digit and continue with your input.
• Calculation speed depends on the number of steps accumulated in Calculation Memory.
How do I change the numeric display format on my CASIO MJ-120DA?
The CASIO MJ-120DA offers two numeric display formats. The MJ-120DA employs the standard international system of digit grouping. You can switch between these two formats.
To change the format:
1. Press and hold down [▲] until SET appears.
2. The current format is shown on the display. Press [▲] to toggle to the other format.
3. Repeat step 2 to select the second format. When you press [▲] both formats will be displayed on the screen.
4. Press [C] to complete the setting operation.
