Before using your ASKO W7096XW washing machine, please observe the following general safety precautions:

• Do not use the washing machine without reading and understanding the user manual first.

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety.

• Failure to observe the instructions may result in damage to the laundry, the appliance, or injury to the user.

• This appliance is intended for household and similar applications such as staff kitchen areas, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast environments. It must not be used in areas for communal use in blocks of flats or launderettes.

• Before first use, ensure all transit bolts are removed.

• The maximum washing capacity is indicated on the rating plate.

To ensure child safety with your ASKO W7096XW, please follow these guidelines:

• Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

• Keep detergent and conditioner out of reach of children.

• Before closing the door and starting a program, check that there is nothing except laundry in the drum (e.g., ensure a child has not climbed inside).

• Activate the Lock feature in the appliance settings to prevent accidental use.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children without supervision.

• Be aware that at higher washing temperatures, the door glass will heat up. Be careful to avoid burns and ensure children do not play near the door glass.

For safe installation and connection of your ASKO W7096XW:

• The washing machine may only be used with the supplied power cord. A damaged power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, a service technician, or an authorized person.

• Do not connect the appliance to an external switching device like a program timer or to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off.

• The appliance must be connected to the water and power supply by a trained expert.

• Do not install the machine in a room where the temperature can drop below 5°C, as parts may be damaged by freezing water.

• Ensure ventilation openings in the base of the machine are not obstructed by a carpet.

• After installation, let the machine stand still for two hours before connecting it to the power mains.

• Do not use an extension cord to connect the machine to the power mains.

• Use only the supplied new water supply hose and gaskets. Water pressure must be between 0.1 and 1 MPa (1-10 bar).

Before using your ASKO W7096XW washing machine for the first time, you must prepare it by following these steps:

1. Remove Transport Protection: Before use, remove the three transport bolts and plastic plugs that protect the appliance during transport. Loosen the bolts with a spanner (no. 15 or 17). Squeeze the plastic plugs holding the bolts and pull them out. Remove the caps from the plastic plugs and push the caps into the holes where the plugs were located. Save the bolts and plugs in case you need to move the machine again.

2. Initial Cleaning: Disconnect the machine from the power mains and open the door. Clean the drum with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. After cleaning, connect the machine to the power, close the door, and run the Drum Cleaning program.

3. Set Initial Settings: When you switch on the appliance for the first time, you will need to set the language, confirm removal of transport protection, and configure settings such as water hardness, temperature unit, liquid unit, weight unit, Auto Dose System (ADS), and Wi-Fi.

Proper positioning and levelling are crucial for quiet operation. Follow these steps to set up your ASKO W7096XW:

1. Select a Room: Place the machine on a solid, concrete base that is clean and dry. Ensure the door can be freely opened. There must be a minimum clearance of 50 mm on the sides, 25 mm between the back of the appliance and the wall, and 40 mm above the appliance.

2. Adjust the Feet: The machine must stand level and stable. Level it in both longitudinal and traverse directions by rotating the adjustable feet using a spanner (no. 32). The feet allow for levelling by +/- 1 cm.

3. Tighten Lock Nuts: Once the machine is level, use a spanner (no. 17) to firmly tighten the lock nuts (counter nuts) towards the bottom of the machine to secure the feet in place.

Incorrect levelling may cause vibration, sliding, and loud operation, which is not subject to warranty.

Connection to Water Supply:

• Use only the new water inlet hose included inside the drum. Connect it to the appliance and the water supply tap.

• Water pressure must be between 0.1 and 1 MPa (1–10 bar).

• If your model has both hot and cold water connections, connect one hose to COLD and the other to HOT. Hot water temperature must not exceed 70°C (60°C in the UK). Connecting to both will save time and energy. If only connecting to cold water, ensure the protective cap remains on the hot water inlet.

• The AQUA-STOP system will cut the water supply if the internal hose is damaged, and the control glass (a) will turn red.

Installing the Drain Hose:

The drain hose can be installed in one of three ways:

1. Into a wall drain with a siphon (A): It must be properly installed to allow for cleaning.

2. Into a sink or bathtub (B): Use a string to attach the hose through the opening in the elbow to prevent it from slipping.

3. Directly into the sink drain (C): The drain hose diameter must be at least 4 cm, and the internal hose diameter should be at least 18 mm.

The end of the drain hose must be positioned at a height between 600 mm and 900 mm from the ground. The lower position (600 mm) is recommended. Ensure the drain hose is not bent.

The Auto Dose System (ADS) on your ASKO W7096XW allows you to store and automatically dispense liquid detergent and softener.

1. Choosing the Settings for ADS:

• Access ADS settings via Program settings. Select the desired program and then the Dose modes setting.

• Turn on ADS. You can then determine which detergent will be dispensed from tank A and which from tank B.

• Tank A: For liquid detergent (coloured, white, black, delicate, etc.).

• Tank B: For different liquid detergents or softener/rinse aids.

• Set the amount (concentration) of liquid detergent (10 ml to 100 ml) according to the manufacturer’s recommendations for a 4-6 kg load with medium water hardness and medium soiling.

• Set the laundry dirt level (Lightly, Normally, or Heavily soiled). The machine will adjust the dose automatically based on water hardness, program, load amount, and dirt level.

2. Filling the Compartment with Liquid Detergent:

• Pull out the dosing container.

• Open the lid of ADS tank A and pour liquid detergent up to the »MAX« mark (1.1 L).

• Open the lid of ADS tank B and pour liquid detergent or softener up to the »MAX« mark.

• Close the detergent container. Do not place any powder detergent in the ADS compartments.

3. Switching Off Auto Dose:

• In the Dose modes menu, go to Settings ADS and switch off ADS. When ADS is off, you must add detergent to the manual detergent compartment.

Follow these 8 steps for a standard wash cycle on your ASKO W7096XW:

STEP 1: Sort the laundry. Sort laundry by fabric type, colour, soiling, and allowed washing temperature. Empty all pockets.

STEP 2: Turn on the main switch. Press the On/Off button.

STEP 3: Open the washing machine door and insert the laundry. Open the door by pulling the handle. Place laundry in the drum without overloading it.

STEP 4: Add the detergent and the softener. Add powder or liquid detergent to the main wash compartment or use the Auto Dose System (ADS). Pour softener into the compartment with the ∞ symbol, not exceeding the MAX level.

STEP 5: Choose the program. Use the selector knob or touch screen to choose a program based on the laundry type and dirt level. The estimated program duration will appear on the screen.

STEP 6: Choose the program settings. Adjust settings like temperature, spin speed, washing mode (Eco, Speed, Intensive, Night), or add extra functions like prewash, super rinse, etc.

STEP 7: Start the wash. Close the door and press the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle.

STEP 8: End of program. When the program is finished, the display will indicate completion. You can now open the door and remove the laundry. Close the water tap and unplug the machine from the power socket after use.

FL: Full Load, HL: Half Load.

On your ASKO W7096XW, after selecting a program, you can further adjust settings to your wishes before pressing Start/Pause. Some settings may not be available for all programs.

• Set time: For the *Time program* only, choose a duration from 20 minutes to 2 hours.

• Stain: For the *Stains program* only, choose from stains like red wine, blood, grass, etc.

• Mode:

– *Green mode (Eco):* Saves energy with a longer washing time and lower water consumption.

– *Speed mode:* Time-saving wash with shorter washing times and higher energy consumption.

– *Intensive mode:* Improves cleaning with extra water and extended washing time.

– *Night mode:* Reduces noise and extends washing time.

• Temperature: Select from Cold wash and 20/30/40/50/60/70/80/90 °C, depending on the program.

• Spin: Adjust the spin speed up to the program’s maximum (e.g., 1600 rpm) or select no drain.

• Dose: Choose between Manual dose, Manual assist, or Auto Dose System (ADS).

• Small load: Adjusts water and energy for loads up to 2.5 kg.

• Steam disinfection: A low-temperature disinfection cycle before the main wash.

• Prewash: Adds a prewash cycle for heavily soiled laundry. Not available if ADS is switched off.

• Super rinse: Adds an extra rinse phase, recommended for sensitive skin.

• High water level: Increases the amount of water used during the wash and rinse phases.

• Rinse and hold: The laundry will remain in the final rinse water without a final spin, preventing creases.

• Anti crease: Gentle tumbling after the wash cycle to prevent creasing.

• Delay start: Postpone the start of the program from 30 minutes up to 24 hours.

• Add to favourite: Save up to 6 of your most-used program and setting combinations.

Regular cleaning will keep your ASKO W7096XW performing well and prevent odours.

Cleaning the Dispenser Tray (especially for ADS):

1. Press the release mechanism on the lower right side of the dosing container and remove it.

2. On the underside, push into the opening of the left and right ADS compartments to remove the tank.

3. Remove the tank cover using the rear tab. Rinse the tank thoroughly under water, using a brush if needed.

4. Open and clean the tank cap.

5. Clean the interior of the dosing container housing.

6. Reinstall the tank into the housing.

7. Use a brush to clean the nozzles on the upper and lower parts of the detergent compartment housing.

8. Put the dosing container back into its housing and close it.

Cleaning the Filter:

1. Before cleaning, run the Drain program and disconnect the machine from power.

2. Open the pump filter cover.

3. Release the small water drain hose from its holder.

4. Place a shallow container under it, remove the cap, and let the water drain out.

5. Gradually rotate the filter counter-clockwise and pull it out.

6. Clean the filter thoroughly under running water.

7. Remove any objects from the filter housing and impeller.

8. Replace the filter, rotate it clockwise to fasten, reattach the drain hose, and close the lid.

Cleaning the Exterior and Interior:

• Clean the exterior and display with a soft, damp cotton cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners.

• After every wash, wipe the rubber door gasket to remove any trapped objects.

• To prevent odours, run the Drum Cleaning program once a month with a small amount of powder detergent and no laundry.

If the door of your ASKO W7096XW will not open, it could be due to several reasons:

• Water level too high: The machine will not allow the door to open if there is too much water inside. Run the Drain or Spinning program to remove the water.

• Water temperature is too high: For safety, the door will remain locked if the water inside is too hot. Wait for the water temperature to drop. If you still cannot open the door, you may need to use the emergency door opening tool.

• Door is not properly closed: If the program has not started, the door may not be fully latched. Firmly press on the door until you hear two clicks.

• Manual Opening: If the machine is not connected to power and water has been drained, you can open the door manually. Ensure the main switch is off and the plug is disconnected. Use a tool (like a screwdriver) to operate the manual release mechanism, typically located near the pump filter.

If the door remains locked despite these steps, call a service technician.

If your ASKO W7096XW washing machine will not start, check the following:

• Power Supply: Ensure there is power to the machine. Check if the plug is connected to the power outlet and whether there is electric current in the outlet.

• Door Not Closed Properly: The program will not start if the door is open. Firmly press on the washing machine door until you hear two distinct clicks, indicating it is properly closed.

• Delayed Start Function: Check if the Delayed Start function has been selected. If so, the machine is waiting for the set time to elapse before starting. To cancel the delayed start, press and hold the OK button for three seconds.

If you find residue in the detergent compartments of your ASKO W7096XW, consider the following solutions:

• Powder detergent left in the main wash compartment:

– The water pressure may not be high enough. Check and clean the net on the water supply hose.

– Some washing powders can stick to a damp compartment. Wipe the compartment dry before adding powder, or choose the High water level or Extra rinse setting.

• Conditioner left in the conditioner compartment:

– The plug cap in the softener compartment may not be positioned correctly or could be clogged. Make sure the plug cap is positioned correctly and clean it as described in the maintenance section of the manual.

Excessive noise or movement from your ASKO W7096XW during operation is often due to installation or loading issues:

• Transport bolts not removed: If this is the first time using the machine, ensure the transport bolts used for shipping have been completely removed from the back of the appliance.

• Feet not adjusted correctly: The machine must be perfectly level. Adjust the feet and tighten the lock nuts as described in the installation instructions.

• Unevenly distributed laundry: The UKS (*unbalance system) will try to redistribute the laundry. If it cannot, it may reduce the spin speed or skip the spin cycle, which can cause vibration. Manually redistribute the laundry inside the drum and restart the program. Avoid washing very small loads (e.g., a single towel) as they are difficult to balance.

• Noisy drain pump: If you hear a loud noise during draining, the drain pump filter may be clogged. Clean the filter and the filter housing.
