• Failure to follow the instructions may result in damage to the laundry, the appliance, or injury to the user. Keep the instruction manual near the washing machine.

• This appliance is intended for household and similar applications such as staff kitchen areas, farm houses, hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast environments. It must not be used in communal areas of flats or in launderettes.

• Before use, ensure all transit bolts are removed. Refer to the chapter ‘Before using the appliance for the first time/ Transport protection’.

• The maximum washing capacity in kg for the Cotton program is indicated on the appliance’s rating plate.

To ensure child safety around the ASKO W7096XG, please follow these guidelines:

• Children under 3 years of age should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

• Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

• Keep detergent and conditioner out of reach of children.

• Before starting a program, check that there is nothing except laundry in the drum (e.g., prevent a child from climbing inside and closing the door).

• Activate the child lock feature. See the ‘Appliance settings’ chapter.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction on its safe use.

• Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

• Be aware of the hot surface danger: At high washing temperatures, the door glass will heat up. Be careful to avoid burns and ensure children do not play near the door glass.

• The washing machine may only be used with the supplied power cord. A damaged power cord must only be replaced by the manufacturer, a service technician, or an authorized person.

• Do not connect the appliance to an external switching device like a timer or a circuit that is regularly switched on and off.

• Connection to water and power supply must be done by a trained expert.

• Any repairs should be done by trained experts.

• Do not install the machine in a room where the temperature can drop below 5°C, as this can damage parts due to freezing water.

• Ensure ventilation openings in the base are not obstructed by a carpet.

• After installation, wait at least two hours before connecting the machine to the power mains.

• Do not use an extension cord to connect the machine to the power mains.

• Do not connect the machine to an electrical outlet intended for an electric shaver or hair dryer.

• Use the new water supply hose and gaskets provided. Do not reuse old ones.

• Water pressure must be between 0.1 and 1 MPa (1–10 bar).

• The end of the water discharge hose must reach into a water drain line.

• DANGER OF FIRE! Do not use detergents containing solvents, as this can release poisonous gases, damage the machine, and create a risk of fire and explosion.

• Only use detergents intended for washing machines.

• Only use agents for machine washing and laundry care. Incorrect use of bleaching or coloring agents can cause damage or discoloration of plastic and gasket parts.

• Avoid colorants or bleaching substances containing sulphuric compounds as they can cause corrosion.

• Excessive use of chlorine-based products can lead to premature failure of appliance components.

• Before starting a cycle, press the door on the indicated spot until it locks. The door cannot be opened during operation.

• It is recommended to run a Drum Cleaning program before the first wash to remove any impurities from the drum.

• After each washing cycle, close the water tap and unplug the machine from the power socket.

• This machine is for washing laundry only and is not intended for dry cleaning.

• To remove limescale, use agents with added anti-corrosion protection and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Finish by rinsing several times or running the Drum Cleaning program to remove residual acids.

If the water level in the appliance rises above the normal level, the water level protection system will activate. This system will begin to pump out the excess water and will close the water supply. If the water level does not decrease within 60 seconds, the program will be interrupted and an error will be signaled.

If you need to transport or store the appliance in an unheated area where temperatures could drop below freezing, follow these steps:

1. Clean the drain pump filter.

2. Close the water supply to the washing machine.

3. Unscrew the water supply hose from the tap and wait for all the water to flow out of both the tap and the hose.

4. After the drain pump filter is emptied, a small amount of water may remain, but this will not damage the appliance.

5. If the machine is to be transported, reinstall the transport protection bolts. See the ‘Transport protection’ chapter.

Before using the appliance, you must remove the three transport bolts and plastic plugs that protect it during transport.

1. Use a spanner (no. 15 or 17, depending on the model) to loosen and remove the three bolts from the back of the machine.

2. To remove the plastic plugs that hold the bolts, squeeze them and then pull them out.

3. Remove the caps from the plastic plugs. Push these caps into the holes where the plastic plugs were located.

4. Save the bolts and plastic plugs in case you need to move your washing machine again.

The required parts are:

• Art. No. 270698: Bolt (3 pieces)

• Art. No. 551188: Plastic cap (transport lock) (3 pieces)

1. Disconnect the washing machine from the power mains and open the door.

2. Clean the washing machine drum with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.

3. Connect the washing machine back to the power mains, close the door, and run the self-cleaning program (Drum Cleaning). Refer to ‘STEP 5: Choose the program’ for details.

Do not use any solvents or cleaning agents that could damage the washing machine.

• Before connecting the washing machine to power, let it stand for at least 2 hours to reach room temperature.

• Do not place the machine behind a lockable or sliding door, or a door with a hinge on the opposite side, which would prevent the machine door from opening freely.

• The floor must have a concrete base and must be clean and dry to prevent the machine from sliding. Also, clean the bottom surface of the adjustable feet.

• The washing machine must stand level and stable on a solid base.

• The wall outlet should be freely accessible after installation.

• For best performance, maintain a clearance of 50 mm from the sides and back of the machine. The distance between the back of the appliance and the wall must be at least 25 mm, and the distance to any furniture above it must be at least 40 mm.

Properly leveling the machine will reduce noise, vibration, and movement. Incorrect leveling is not subject to warranty.

1. Level the washing machine in both longitudinal and traverse directions by rotating the adjustable feet using a spanner no. 32. The feet allow for leveling by +/- 1 cm.

2. Once the correct height is set, use a spanner no. 17 to firmly tighten the lock nuts (counter nuts) towards the bottom of the machine.

3. Tighten the lock nuts to the end position.

At least two people are required to install a tumble dryer on top of a washing machine.

To stack a dryer, use the front feet attachments (plastic footrests (C)) and the tipping guard (A+B), which are supplied in the dryer drum. The tipping guard is specifically for ASKO washing machines. All ASKO washing machines can bear the weight of an ASKO dryer.

For detailed instructions, refer to the instructions provided with your ASKO tumble dryer.

ASKO’s front panel controls allow for installation in a cabinet or closet. To ensure proper ventilation, follow these guidelines:

• There must be a minimum distance of 12 mm between the machine and the cabinet/wall.

• There must be a minimum distance of 25 mm between the rear edge of the machine’s top panel and the cabinet/wall.

• A door with grilles is recommended. If the door is solid, it must have ventilation openings. The diagram in the manual shows the smallest feasible ventilation opening dimensions.

• Ensure the washing machine door can be opened without hindrance after installation.

The water inlet hose is inside the drum and must be connected to both the appliance and the water supply by a trained person.

• **AQUA-STOP Feature:** If the internal hose is damaged, a shut-off system activates, cutting the water supply. The control glass (a) will turn red, indicating the hose needs replacement.

• **Connection Steps:**

1. Connect the water supply hose. Water pressure must be between 0.1 and 1 MPa (1–10 bar).

2. If the hose is new, rinse it to remove impurities that could clog the filter.

3. Fasten the hose firmly to ensure a good seal.

4. After connecting, check for any leaks.

• Only use the water supply hose provided with the appliance. Do not use old or other hoses.

• If the hose connection is a different size than the water tap (e.g., 3/4” to 1/2”), use an adapter.

• **Water Leakage Sensor:** The machine has a sensor that detects water leakage at the bottom. If activated, it cuts the water supply, stops the washing process, engages the pump, and signals an error.

Your ASKO W7096XG has connections for both hot and cold water, which can save time and energy. Connect one hose to the cold water connection (marked COLD) and the other to the hot water connection (marked HOT). Hot water is used for programs operating at 40°C or more. The hot water temperature must not exceed 70°C (60°C in the UK).

If you only wish to connect to cold water, the protective cap must remain on the hot water inlet. The appliance will function normally in this configuration without any additional settings.

The drain hose can be installed in one of three ways:

1. **Into a wall drain with a siphon (A):** It must be properly installed for easy cleaning.

2. **Into a sink or bathtub (B):** Use a string to attach the hose through the opening in the elbow to prevent it from slipping to the floor.

3. **Directly into the sink drain (C):** The diameter of the drain must be at least 4 cm. The internal hose diameter should be at least 18 mm.

The end of the drain hose must be positioned at least 600 mm and no more than 900 mm from the ground. The lower position (60 cm) is always recommended. Ensure the drain hose is not bent.

When you connect and switch on the appliance for the first time, you will need to configure the initial settings:

1. **Choose language:** Scroll left or right to navigate the list of languages and press the desired language to confirm.

2. **Transport Protection Removal:** The appliance will remind you to remove all transport protection. If you have already done so, press Confirm to continue.

3. **Water hardness:** Choose between Soft, Normal, or Hard. To determine your water hardness, you can use the supplied test strip or contact your local water distributor.

To use the test strip:

– Turn on the water tap and let it run for a minute.

– Fill a glass with cold water.

– Dip the test strip in the water for about one second.

– Wait one minute, then compare the colors of the squares with the water hardness table in the manual.

4. **Temperature unit:** Choose between Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F).

5. **Liquid unit:** Choose between Millilitres (ml) or Tablespoons (tbsp).

6. **Weight unit:** Choose between Kilogrammes (kg) or Pounds (lbs).

7. **Auto dose system (ADS):** Choose to turn the ADS on or off. If on, you will choose which tank (A or B) the detergent will be dispensed from.

8. **Wi-Fi settings:** Choose to turn the Wi-Fi connection on or off.

9. **Automatic extra rinsing:** Choose to turn this feature on or off. When on, the sensor detects and adjusts the number of additional rinses based on soiling.

10. **Confirm Settings:** Press the final OK button to confirm and complete the initial setup. Your washing machine is now ready to use.

To connect your ASKO W7096XG to the ConnectLife platform, you need a home Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz) and a smart device with the ConnectLife app.

1. **Download the App:** Search for the ConnectLife app in your app store.

2. **Install and Create Account:** Install the app and create an account.

3. **Add Device in App:** In the ConnectLife app, go to the »Add device« menu and select the appropriate device type. Scan the QR code found on the rating plate of your washing machine (you can also enter the AUID/SN number manually).

4. **Follow App Instructions:** The application will guide you through the process of connecting the appliance to your smart device.

To enable Wi-Fi on the washing machine itself:

1. Turn on the appliance and in the main menu, go to ‘Additional service settings’.

2. Select ‘Wi-Fi settings’.

3. Ensure the Wi-Fi setting is switched on.

4. Select ‘Connection setup’ and follow the on-screen instructions, which will involve using the app to finalize the connection to your home network.

The Dose feature allows you to control how detergent is dispensed.

1. **Access Dose Settings:** Select a washing program, then press the third icon on the screen (Dose).

2. **Choose Dosing Method:**

– **Manual Assist:** If you turn on Manual Assist, the machine will recommend the optimal amount of detergent for the selected settings. You then manually add this amount to the dispenser.

– **Auto Dose System (ADS):** If you have enabled ADS, you can select detergent to be automatically dosed from tank A or B.

– **Manual Dosing:** If neither option is selected, the machine will use detergent from the manual dosing chamber.

3. **Choose Dirt Level:** You can select from 3 dirt levels, which will adjust the detergent amount.

To set up and use the ADS:

1. **Choose ADS Settings:** In the Dose menu, enter Settings. Turn on ADS. Select what type of liquid is in tank A (e.g., detergent for coloreds) and tank B (e.g., detergent for whites, softener).

2. **Set Concentration:** Set the amount (concentration) of liquid detergent (10 ml to 100 ml) for each tank based on the detergent manufacturer’s recommendation for a 4-6 kg load, medium water hardness, and medium soil level. The machine will auto-adjust this amount based on water hardness, program, load size, and dirt level.

3. **Fill the Tanks:** Pull out the dosing container. Open the lid for tank A and/or B and pour in liquid detergent or softener up to the »MAX« mark (1.1 L). Close the container.

4. **Switching Off ADS:** In the Dose settings menu, you can switch off ADS. When ADS is off, you must add detergent to the manual detergent compartment.

Before washing, prepare your laundry by following these tips:

• **Remove solid objects:** Check pockets and flaps for items like screws, clips, stones, or food residues to prevent damage to the appliance or clogging the filter.

• **Sort laundry:** Sort items according to:

– How soiled they are.

– Color.

– Material type.

– Permissible washing temperature (check laundry symbols).

• **Clothing preparation:**

– Wash laundry that sheds a lot of lint separately.

– Empty all pockets. Coins, nails, etc., can damage the machine and fabric.

– Close buttons and zippers, tie ribbons, and turn pockets inside out.

– Remove any metal clips that could cause damage or clog the drain.

– Turn delicate items inside out to reduce wear and color fading.

– Place very sensitive clothes and small items in a special-purpose laundry bag.

Observe the symbols on your laundry labels to choose the correct washing parameters.

Follow these 8 steps for a complete washing cycle:

STEP 1: Sort the laundry. Sort your laundry according to fabric type, color, soiling, and allowed temperature. Empty all pockets.

STEP 2: Turn on the main switch. Press the On/Off button.

STEP 3: Open the washing machine door and insert the laundry. Pull the handle to open the door. Place laundry in the drum, making sure it is not overloaded for the best washing results. The drum is lit for 5 minutes when the machine is switched on.

STEP 4: Add the detergent and the softener. Add powder or liquid detergent to the appropriate compartment. If using the Auto Dose System (ADS), the machine will add liquid detergent automatically. Add softener to the compartment marked with the flower symbol, not exceeding the max level.

STEP 5: Choose the program. Use the selector knob or touch screen to choose the desired program based on your laundry type. The estimated duration will appear on the screen.

STEP 6: Choosing the program settings. Before starting, you can adjust settings like temperature, spin speed, mode (Eco, Speed, etc.), and add extra functions like prewash or super rinse. These settings cannot be changed once the program has started.

STEP 7: Start the wash. Close the door and press the Start/Pause button. You can pause the cycle to add or remove clothes if conditions permit.

STEP 8: End of program. When the program is finished, the display will indicate it is complete. You can now open the door and remove your laundry. Close the water tap and unplug the machine.

FL: Full Load, HL: Half Load

After selecting a program, you can further adjust settings before pressing Start/Pause. Some settings may not be available for all programs.

• **Quick Access:** Touch the icons for Temperature, Spin, and Dose on the main program screen for direct adjustment.

• **Full Settings Menu:** Enter the program settings menu for all options:

– **Set time:** (Time program only) Adjust duration from 20 minutes to 2 hours.

– **Stain:** (Stains program only) Choose from stains like red wine, blood, grass, etc.

– **Mode:** Select between (Eco) Green mode (energy saving, longer), Speed mode (time-saving, shorter), Intensive mode (improves cleaning), and Night mode (reduces noise).

– **Temperature:** Select from Cold wash up to 90°C, depending on the program.

– **Spin:** Adjust the spin speed up to the program’s maximum (e.g., 1600 rpm) or select no drain.

– **Dose:** Choose manual dose, manual assist, or Auto Dose System (ADS).

– **Small load:** Optimizes water and energy for loads up to 2.5 kg.

– **Steam disinfection:** A low-temperature cycle to disinfect clothes before the main wash.

– **Prewash:** Adds a prewash cycle for heavily soiled laundry.

– **Super rinse:** Adds an additional rinse phase, good for sensitive skin.

– **High water level:** Increases the amount of water used in the wash and rinse phases.

– **Rinse and hold:** The laundry will remain in the final rinse water without a final spin, preventing creases if you can’t unload it immediately.

– **Anti crease:** Adds gentle tumbling after the cycle to prevent creasing.

– **Delay start:** Postpone the start of the wash from 30 minutes to 24 hours.

– **Add to favourite:** Save the current program and settings as one of up to 6 favourites.

In the main menu, select ‘Additional settings’ to access and change various appliance functions:

• **LOCK:** Disable on-screen buttons to prevent children from changing the cycle.

• **AA EASY VIEW:** Enables a more transparent display with fewer symbols.

• **DRYER LINK:** Turn on the connection with a compatible ASKO dryer. When connected via the ConnectLife app, the dryer will suggest an appropriate drying program based on the completed wash cycle.

• **Wi-Fi SETTINGS:** Turn Wi-Fi on/off and manage connection setup.

• **ECO STATUS:** Displays information about sustainable washing practices.

• **SYSTEM SETTINGS:** Access sub-menus for:

– **Cycle counter:** Displays the number of cycles performed.

– **Machine status:** Set notifications, get instructions for cleaning the ADS or filter, and view the last three error read-outs.

• **Program management:** Choose which programs are displayed in the main menu.

• **Reset program list:** Deletes all favourite programs and resets their order.

• **Display logotype:** Enable or disable the display of the logo.

• **Sound volume:** Adjust sound between Off, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.

• **Display brightness:** Adjust screen brightness between 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%.

• **Drum light:** Turn the drum light on or off.

• **Choose Language:** Change the display language.

• **Water hardness:** Set water hardness to soft, normal, or hard.

• **Units:** Change Temperature, Liquid, and Weight units.

• **Factory default settings:** Revert all settings to their original state, deleting your own settings and favourite programs.

Always disconnect the machine from power before cleaning. Clean the empty ADS container regularly, at least once a month or with every other filling.

1. On the lower right side of the dosing container, press the release mechanism and completely remove the container from its housing.

2. On the underside of the container, push into the opening of the left and right compartments to remove the ADS tank from the main container housing.

3. Remove the tank cover using the tab on the rear side.

4. Rinse the tank thoroughly under water. You can use a brush. Also, open and clean the tank cap.

5. Clean the interior of the main dosing container housing.

6. Reinstall the tank into the housing of the dosing container.

7. Use a brush to clean the nozzles on the upper and lower parts of the detergent compartment housing inside the machine.

8. Put the dosing container back into its housing and close it.

The dosing container can be washed in a dishwasher at a maximum temperature of 55°C, but you must first remove all detergent and softener residues.

The filter retains smaller objects like coins and buttons. It’s recommended to clean it once a month.

1. Before cleaning, run the Drain program to empty the water. Disconnect the machine from the power mains.

2. Open the pump filter cover. The opening tool is located on the front right side of the dosing container.

3. Release the small water drain hose from its holder.

4. Place a large, shallow container under the hose, open the cap, and let all the water drain out.

5. Gradually rotate the filter counter-clockwise and pull it out.

6. Clean the filter thoroughly under running water.

7. Remove any objects and impurities from the filter housing and the impeller area.

8. Replace the filter, rotating it clockwise to fasten it. Ensure the filter seal surface is clean for a good seal.

9. Reattach the drain hose and close the lid.

Most issues can be resolved by the user. First, try switching the appliance off, wait at least 1 minute, then switch it back on and repeat the washing program. If an issue persists, consult the table below.

The door can be opened manually only if the appliance is not connected to power and the water has been pumped out.

A. First, try to drain the water by choosing the Spinning or Drain program. If that doesn’t work, you must drain the water manually by cleaning the filter (see the ‘Cleaning the filter’ section).

B. Make sure the main switch is off and the plug is disconnected from the power outlet.

There is a manual release mechanism that can be accessed. If you cannot open the door after these steps, call a service technician.

If an error occurs, an error code will be displayed. Switch the appliance off and on again. If the error reoccurs, consult the list below.

The packaging of your ASKO W7096XG is made of environmentally friendly materials that can be recycled or disposed of without hazard. The symbol on the product indicates it should not be treated as normal household waste.

• Take the product to an authorized collection center for processing waste electric and electronic equipment.
