To activate or deactivate the appliance, touch the ON/OFF sensor field for 1 second.

The Automatic Switch Off function deactivates the appliance automatically if:

• All cooking zones are deactivated.

• You do not set the heat setting after you activate the appliance.

• You spill something or put something on the control panel for more than 10 seconds (e.g., a pan, a cloth). An audible sound will operate, and the appliance will deactivate. You must remove the object or clean the control panel to use it again.

• The appliance becomes too hot, for example, when a saucepan boils dry. The cooking zone must be cool before you use the appliance again.

• You use incorrect cookware. The symbol ‘F’ will appear, and the cooking zone will deactivate automatically after 2 minutes.

• You do not deactivate a cooking zone or change the heat setting for a certain period. After some time, a symbol will appear, and the appliance deactivates.

To set the heat level for a cooking zone, touch the control bar at the desired heat setting (from 1 to 9). You can slide your finger to the left or right if necessary. Do not release your finger before you have selected the correct heat setting. The display will show the selected heat setting.

The Automatic Heat Up function allows you to reach a necessary heat setting in a shorter time. It sets the highest heat setting for a period and then decreases to the desired level. To use this function:

1. Touch ‘P’ (the Power function symbol). ‘P’ will appear on the display.

2. Immediately touch the necessary heat setting on the control bar. After 3 seconds, the symbol ‘A’ will appear in the display.

To stop the function, simply change the heat setting.

The Power function provides more power to the induction cooking zones for a maximum of 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, the induction cooking zone automatically returns to the highest standard heat setting. To activate the Power function, touch the ‘P’ sensor. The symbol ‘P’ will appear on the display. To deactivate it, touch the ‘P’ sensor again or adjust the heat setting.

The power management function activates when the total electricity load of the cooking zones exceeds the maximum available for the phase. The function divides the power between the cooking zones, decreasing the power of some zones to prevent overloading. The heat setting display of the reduced zones will alternate between the chosen setting and the reduced heat setting. After some time, the display will permanently show the reduced heat setting.

The Count Down Timer sets how long a cooking zone will operate for a single cooking session. You can set the timer after selecting the cooking zone.

• **To set the cooking zone:** Touch the Timer symbol repeatedly until the indicator of the required cooking zone appears.

• **To start the timer:** Touch the + or – of the timer to set the time (00-99 minutes). When the cooking zone indicator flashes slowly, the time is counting down.

• **To check the remaining time:** Select the cooking zone with the Timer symbol. The indicator will flash faster, and the display will show the remaining time.

• **To change the time:** Select the cooking zone with the Timer symbol, then touch + or -.

• **To stop the timer:** Select the cooking zone with the Timer symbol and touch -. The remaining time will count back to 00. Alternatively, you can touch + and – at the same time.

When the time elapses, a sound will operate, 00 will flash, and the cooking zone will switch off. To stop the sound, touch the Timer symbol.

The Pause function sets all operating cooking zones to the lowest heat setting (keep warm). When Pause is active, you cannot change the heat setting. The function does not stop the timer.

• **To activate:** Touch the Pause symbol. The keep warm symbol will appear.

• **To deactivate:** Touch the Pause symbol again. The heat setting you set before pausing will be restored.

The Bridge function connects the two left-hand cooking zones, allowing them to operate as one large zone, suitable for a griddle plate.

• **To start the Bridge function:** First, set the heat setting for one of the left-hand cooking zones. Then, touch the Bridge symbol.

• **To adjust the heat setting:** Touch one of the left-hand controls to set or change the heat setting for the bridged zone.

• **To stop the Bridge function:** Touch the Bridge symbol again. The cooking zones will then operate independently.

The Child Safety Device prevents accidental operation of the appliance.

To activate the Child Safety Device:

1. Activate the appliance with ON/OFF. Do not set any heat settings.

2. Touch the Pause symbol for 4 seconds. The symbol ‘L’ will appear.

3. Deactivate the appliance with ON/OFF.

To deactivate the Child Safety Device:

1. Activate the appliance with ON/OFF. Do not set any heat settings.

2. Touch the Pause symbol for 4 seconds. The symbol ‘L’ will disappear.

3. Deactivate the appliance with ON/OFF.

You can override the Child Safety Device for one cooking time only. The device will be active again once you turn off the appliance.

When you deactivate the appliance with ON/OFF, the Child Safety Device will operate again.

The SenseBoil® function automatically adjusts the water temperature to prevent it from boiling over once it reaches the boiling point. If there is residual heat on the cooking zones you want to use, the function will not start, and an acoustic signal will be emitted.

1. Touch ON/OFF to activate the hob.

2. Touch the Boil Protect symbol to activate the function. A blinking icon will appear for the cooking zones on which you can currently use the function.

3. Touch the control bar of any available cooking zone (between heat setting 1-9) to start the function for that zone.

Once the function starts, indicators above the Boil Protect symbol will come on sequentially until the water reaches boiling point. When boiling is detected, the hob will emit an acoustic signal, and the heat level will automatically change to 5.

To deactivate the function, touch the Boil Protect symbol (the heat setting will go to 0) or manually adjust the heat setting on the control bar.

For best results with the SenseBoil® function, follow these tips:

• The function works best for boiling water and preparing potatoes.

• It does not work with cast iron and non-stick cookware (e.g., with a ceramic coating). Enamelled steel pots are recommended.

• Fill the pot with half to three-quarters of cold tap water, leaving at least 4 cm from the rim. Use between 1 to 5 litres of water. The total weight of water (or water and potatoes) should range between 1-5 kg.

• If cooking potatoes, ensure they are completely covered with water, but leave at least one-quarter of the pot empty.

• Use whole, unpeeled, medium-sized potatoes for best results, and do not pack them too tightly.

• Avoid external vibrations (e.g., from a blender) when the function is running.

• If using salt, add it after the water reaches the boiling point.

• The function may not work properly for water kettles and espresso pots.

Hob2Hood is an advanced automatic function that connects the hob to a special compatible hood. The fan speed of the hood is defined automatically based on the mode setting and the temperature of the hottest cookware on the hob. When you activate the hob, the hood will adjust the fan speed automatically. For most hoods, the remote system is initially deactivated and must be activated before use (refer to the hood user manual).

To operate the hood directly on the hood panel, you must deactivate the automatic mode of the function on the hob.

You can operate the function manually. To do so, touch the ‘Auto’ symbol when the hob is active. This deactivates the automatic operation.

• Pressing ‘Auto’ raises the fan speed by one level.

• When you reach the intensive level and press ‘Auto’ again, you will set the fan speed to 0, which deactivates the hood fan.

• To start the fan again with fan speed 1, touch ‘Auto’.

To return to automatic operation, deactivate the hob and activate it again.

For induction cooking, a strong electromagnetic field creates heat directly in the cookware. Therefore, the cookware must be made of a magnetic material.

• **Correct cookware:** Cast iron, steel, enamelled steel, stainless steel, and multi-layer bottom cookware (with a correct mark from the manufacturer).

• **Incorrect cookware:** Aluminium, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, or porcelain.

To check if your cookware is compatible, place a magnet on the bottom of the pot or pan. If the magnet clings firmly, the cookware will work with your induction cooktop. The bottom of the cookware must be as thick and flat as possible.

Certain noises are normal during the operation of an induction cooktop and do not indicate a malfunction. These include:

• **Crack noise:** Occurs if cookware is made of different materials (sandwich construction).

• **Whistle sound:** Can be heard if you use one or more cooking zones with high power levels and the cookware is made of different materials.

• **Humming:** Occurs when using high power levels.

• **Clicking:** This is the sound of the electric switching.

• **Hissing, buzzing:** This is the sound of the fan operating.

• If possible, always put lids on the cookware.

• Put cookware on a cooking zone before you start it.

• The relation between the heat setting and power consumption is not linear. A cooking zone with a medium heat setting uses less than half of its power.

• The Power function is best used to heat up large quantities of water.

Clean the appliance after each use. Always use cookware with a clean bottom. Scratches or dark stains on the glass ceramic do not affect how the appliance operates.

To remove dirt:

1. **Remove immediately:** Melted plastic, plastic foil, and food with sugar. Use a special scraper for the glass. Put the scraper on the glass surface at an acute angle and move the blade on the surface. Failure to do so can cause damage to the appliance.

2. **Remove after the appliance is sufficiently cool:** Limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, and shiny metallic discolorations. Use a special cleaning agent for glass ceramic or stainless steel.

3. Clean the appliance with a moist cloth and some detergent.
