2. **Left rear (LR) zone:** Induction cooking zone 1800 W, with Power function 2800 W (minimum cookware diameter =150 mm). Generator 2(LR zone): 2800W

3. **Right rear (RR) zone:** Induction cooking zone 1800 W, with Power function 2800 W (minimum cookware diameter =150 mm). Generator 3(RR zone): 2800W

4. **Right front (RF) zone:** Induction cooking zone 1400 W, with Power function 2500 W (minimum cookware diameter =125 mm). Generator 4(RF zone): 2500W

OptiHeat Control (3 step residual heat indicator) WARNING: Risk of burns from residual heat! OptiHeat Control shows the level of the residual heat. The glass ceramic is hot from the heat of the cookware.

Touch the ON/OFF sensor field for 1 second to activate or deactivate the appliance.

The Automatic Switch Off function deactivates the appliance automatically if:

• All cooking zones are deactivated (display shows 0).

• You do not set the heat setting after you activate the appliance.

• You spill something or put something on the control panel for more than 10 seconds (e.g., a pan, a cloth). A sound will operate and the appliance deactivates. Remove the object or clean the control panel.

• The appliance becomes too hot (e.g., when a saucepan boils dry). The cooking zone must be cool before you use it again.

• You use incorrect cookware. The symbol ‘F’ comes on and the cooking zone deactivates automatically after 2 minutes.

• You do not deactivate a cooking zone or change the heat setting. After a certain time, a dash ‘-‘ comes on and the appliance deactivates. The time depends on the heat setting as shown in the table below:

Touch the control bar at the heat setting. Change to the left or the right, if it is necessary. Do not release before you have the correct heat setting. The display shows the selected heat setting.

The Automatic Heat Up function sets the highest heat setting for a period of time and then decreases to the necessary heat setting. To start it for a cooking zone:

1. Touch P (the letter P comes on in the display).

2. Immediately touch + adjacent to the element you want to control. The symbol ‘A’ comes on in the display.

3. Immediately touch – adjacent to the element you want to control again and again until the necessary heat setting comes on. After 3 seconds ‘A’ comes on in the display.

4. To stop the function, touch + adjacent to the element you want to control.

The Power function makes more power available to the induction cooking zones. It is activated for a maximum of 10 minutes, after which the zone automatically sets back to the highest heat setting.

To activate, touch P. The letter ‘P’ comes on. To deactivate, touch P adjacent to the element you want to control.

The Power Management function activates when the total electricity load of the cooking zones exceeds the maximum load of the phase. It divides the power between cooking zones, decreasing the power of some zones to manage the load. The heat setting display of the reduced zones will alternate between the chosen setting and the reduced setting for a time, before staying on the reduced heat setting.

Use the Count Down Timer to set how long a cooking zone operates for a single time. Set the timer after selecting the cooking zone.

• To set the cooking zone: Touch TIMER again and again until the indicator of the required cooking zone comes on.

• Starting the Count Down Timer: Touch + or – of the timer to set the time (00-99 minutes). When the indicator of the cooking zone flashes slower, the time counts down.

• Checking the remaining time: Select the cooking zone with TIMER. The indicator of the cooking zone flashes faster, and the display shows the remaining time.

• Changing the Count Down Timer: Select the cooking zone with TIMER and touch + or –.

• Stopping the timer: Select the cooking zone with TIMER. Touch –. The remaining time counts backwards to 00, and the indicator of the cooking zone goes out. You can also touch + and – at the same time to switch it off.

When the time elapses, a sound operates and ’00’ flashes. The cooking zone switches off. To stop the sound, touch TIMER.

You can use the timer as a Minute Minder while cooking zones are not operating. Touch TIMER. Touch + or – of the timer to select the time. When the time elapses, the sound operates and ’00’ flashes.

The PAUSE function sets all operating cooking zones to the lowest heat setting (keep warm). When PAUSE is active, you cannot change the heat setting, but the timer function continues to operate.

• To activate: Touch PAUSE. The symbol || comes on.

• To deactivate: Touch PAUSE again. The heat setting that you set before comes on.

This function prevents an accidental operation of the appliance.

To activate the child safety device:

1. Activate the appliance with ON/OFF. Do not set the heat settings.

2. Touch PAUSE for 4 seconds. The symbol ‘L’ comes on.

3. Deactivate the appliance with ON/OFF.

To deactivate the child safety device:

1. Activate the appliance with ON/OFF. Do not set the heat settings.

2. Touch PAUSE for 4 seconds. The symbol ‘L’ goes off.

3. Deactivate the appliance with ON/OFF.

2. Touch PAUSE for 4 seconds.

3. Set the heat setting within 10 seconds. You can now operate the appliance.

When you deactivate the appliance with ON/OFF, the child safety device will operate again.

The SenseBoil® function automatically adjusts the temperature of water so that it does not boil over once it reaches the boiling point. If there is residual heat on the zones you want to use, a signal is emitted and the function will not start.

1. Touch ON/OFF to activate the hob.

2. Touch Boil Protect to activate the function. A blinking icon appears for cooking zones on which you can presently use the function.

3. Touch the control bar of any available cooking zone for which you want to start the function (between heat setting 1-9). The function starts.

Once the function starts, the indicators above the Boil Protect symbol come on one after another until the water reaches the boiling point. When boiling is detected, the hob emits a signal and the heat level automatically changes to 5.

To deactivate the function, touch Boil Protect (the heat setting goes down to 0) or adjust the heat setting manually using the control bar.

For the best results with SenseBoil®, follow these tips:

• The function works best for boiling water and preparing potatoes.

• It does not work with cast iron and non-stick cookware (e.g., with a ceramic coating). Enamelled steel pots are recommended.

• Check if your pot is suitable by monitoring the first cooking session.

• Fill the pot with half to three-quarters of cold tap water, leaving at least 4 cm from the rim empty. Use between 1 to 5 litres of water. The total weight of water (or water and potatoes) should be between 1-5 kg.

• If cooking potatoes, ensure they are completely covered with water, but leave at least one quarter of the pot empty.

• Cook only whole, unpeeled, medium-sized potatoes for best results.

• Avoid external vibrations (e.g., from a blender) when the function is running.

• If you want to use salt, add it after the water reaches the boiling point.

• The function may not work properly for water kettles and espresso pots.

Hob2Hood is an advanced automatic function that connects the hob to a special hood. The fan speed is defined automatically based on the mode setting and temperature of the hottest cookware on the hob. The default automatic mode from the factory is H5. When you activate the hob, the hood will adjust the fan speed automatically.

Changing the automatic mode:

1. Deactivate the appliance.

2. Touch ON/OFF for 3 seconds. The display comes on and goes off.

3. Touch PAUSE for 3 seconds.

4. Touch PAUSE a few times until ‘H’ comes on.

5. Touch + of the Timer to select an automatic mode (H0-H6).

To operate the hood directly on the hood panel, deactivate the automatic mode of the function. When you finish cooking and deactivate the hob, the hood fan may still operate for a certain period before deactivating automatically.

You can operate the Hob2Hood function manually. To do so, touch Auto when the hob is active. This deactivates the automatic operation.

When you press Auto, you raise the fan speed by one. When you reach an intensive level and press Auto again, you will set the fan speed to 0, which deactivates the hood fan. To start the fan again with fan speed 1, touch Auto.

You can set the hob to activate the hood light automatically whenever you activate the hob. To do so, set the automatic mode to H1 – H6. The light on the hood deactivates 2 minutes after deactivating the hob.

For induction cooking, a strong electromagnetic field creates heat directly in the cookware. Use cookware with a magnetic base.

• Correct materials: cast iron, steel, enamelled steel, stainless steel, multi-layer bottom (with a correct mark from the manufacturer).

• Incorrect materials: aluminium, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, or porcelain.

To check if your cookware is compatible, place a magnet on the bottom of the pot or pan. If the magnet clings firmly, the cookware will work. The bottom of the cookware must be as thick and flat as possible.

The noises you hear are normal for an induction cooktop and do not indicate a malfunction. Common noises include:

• Crack noise: Occurs when cookware is made of different materials (sandwich construction).

• Whistle sound: Occurs when you use one or more cooking zones with high power levels and the cookware is made of different materials.

• Humming: You are using high power levels.

• Clicking: Electrical switching is occurring.

• Hissing, buzzing: The fan is operating.

This table provides guidance for various cooking applications:

The Power function (P) is best to heat up large quantities of water.

Clean the appliance after each use. Always use cookware with a clean bottom. Scratches or dark stains on the glass ceramic do not affect how the appliance operates.

To remove the dirt:

1. Remove immediately: melted plastic, plastic foil, and food with sugar. Use a special scraper for the glass. Put the scraper on the glass surface at an acute angle and move the blade on the surface.

Remove after the appliance is sufficiently cool: limescale rings, water rings, fat stains, shiny metallic discolourations. Use a special cleaning agent for glass ceramic or stainless steel.

2. Clean the appliance with a moist cloth and some detergent.

3. At the end, rub the appliance dry with a clean cloth.

If the deposit does not clean off easily, use a non-abrasive scratch pad and a specially adapted glass-ceramic cleaning product. For stubborn dirt, you can use a razor blade scraper designed for glass-ceramic cooktops.

This may happen if the zone was not hot because it operated only for a short time, or if the sensor is damaged. If the zone operated sufficiently long to be hot, speak to an Authorised Service Centre.

This is due to the Power Management function operating. This is a normal function of the cooktop. Refer to “Daily use” section in the manual for more information.

The cookware is too large or you have put it too near to the controls. If possible, put large cookware on the rear zones.

The sounds may have been deactivated. To activate the sounds, refer to the “Daily use” section of your manual.

The Child Safety Device or Lock is operating. Refer to the “Daily use” section of your manual to deactivate it.

This indicates that the power is too low due to unsuitable cookware or an empty pot. Use the appropriate type of cookware and do not activate any zone with an empty pot on it.

This indicates that the pot is empty or contains a liquid other than water, e.g., oil. Avoid using the function with liquids other than water.

This can be caused by several issues with the SenseBoil® function:

• “There is too much or too little water in the pot.”

• “You boiled some food other than water and potatoes. The boiling point was moved in time and the SenseBoil® function could not work properly.”

• None of the cooking zones is ready to be used. There is some residual heat on the cooking zones you want to choose or they are still in use.

Refer to “Hints and Tips” to ensure proper usage. Only boil water and potatoes with SenseBoil®. Finish your previous cooking activities and choose a free cooking zone without any residual heat.

This indicates there is an error in the hob. Deactivate the hob and activate it again after 30 seconds. If ‘E’ comes on again, disconnect the hob from the electrical supply. After 30 seconds, connect the hob again. If the problem continues, speak to an Authorised Service Centre.

This indicates the electrical connection is incorrect. Disconnect the hob from the electrical supply and ask a qualified electrician to check the installation.
