• Refrain from sitting on the seat for long periods to avoid low-temperature burns. If you are a person with limited mobility, a child, or elderly, another person should turn off the toilet seat heater.

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a specialist.

• Always turn the power OFF before maintenance, inspection, or removing the main unit.

• If battery fluid leaks onto you or your clothes, wash it away with clean water immediately.

• Do not insert fingers or other objects into the warm air outlet, and do not place anything on it.

• Do not install the product on moving vehicles like boats.

• Use only the specified power supply: AC 120 V, 60 Hz.

• Install the unit away from areas where it might get wet. Ensure good ventilation in a bathroom.

• Always connect the product to a cold water supply.

• Do not touch the power cord connection with wet hands or during thunderstorms.

• Do not get water or cleaning solution on the main unit or power supply connections.

• Do not damage the power cord in any way (strike, yank, twist, bend, etc.).

• Ensure the product is plugged into a properly grounded outlet.

• Periodically clean dust from the power plug.

• Do not use a loose or faulty electrical outlet.

CAUTIONS:

• Do not use the product if the main unit is unstable.

• Do not touch a damaged section of the product.

• Do not apply strong force, step on, or place heavy objects on the toilet seat, lid, or main unit.

• Do not lift the product by the toilet seat or lid.

• When cleaning plastic parts, use a pH-neutral kitchen detergent diluted with water. Do not use harsh cleaners like toilet cleaner, benzene, or paint thinner.

• Do not remove the drain plug with water supply filter when the shutoff valve is open.

• Do not fold, crush, or damage the water supply hose.

• In freezing temperatures (32 °F / 0°C or lower), take measures to prevent pipes and hoses from freezing and causing damage.

• If the bowl is clogged, turn the power OFF before removing the clog to prevent overflow from the auto flush function.

• Push the main unit securely onto the base plate until it clicks.

• When replacing batteries, use new ones of the same brand and ensure correct polarity.

To ensure proper function and prevent damage to your TOTO SW4734, please observe the following precautions:

For Prevention of Damage:

• Wipe plastic areas with a soft cloth tightly wrung out with water.

• Do not lean against the toilet lid.

• Do not use the product with the toilet lid removed.

• Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, as it can cause discoloration or malfunction.

• Keep radios and similar devices away from the product to avoid signal interference.

For Prevention of Malfunctions and Failures:

• Do not block the remote control transmitter or receiver.

• Turn the power OFF if there is a risk of a lightning strike.

• A toilet seat cover or toilet lid cover cannot be used, as they may interfere with the body and seat sensors, and prevent the lid/seat from opening or closing properly.

• Do not urinate on the main unit, toilet seat, or wand.

• When cleaning the toilet bowl with a cleaner, rinse it off within 3 minutes and leave the seat and lid open to prevent vapors from causing a malfunction.

About the Built-in Body and Seat Sensors:

• The body sensor detects human movement. It may be triggered by movement outside the bathroom if it can detect through a door or wall. The sensor may not detect small children properly, which could prevent the lid from opening automatically.

• The seat sensor turns on when you sit on the seat. For proper detection, sit so that your skin directly touches the seat sensor area (indicated by a label which can be peeled off). Seat covers or clothing can interfere with detection.

• Always wipe off any water droplets on the seat sensor to prevent malfunction.

Auto flushing will not be activated when the user uses the toilet in a standing position.

Follow these steps to prepare your TOTO SW4734 for its first use:

1. Insert the battery in the remote control:

1.1. Remove the remote control from its hanger.

1.2. Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control. Insert two AAA alkaline batteries, then close the cover. When batteries are properly loaded, all LEDs on the remote will light up for about 2 seconds.

1.3. Mount the remote control back in the hanger.

2. Turn on the power:

2.1. Insert the power plug into the wall outlet. The wand will extend and then retract.

2.2. Check that the “Power” LED on the main unit illuminates.

If the light is off, you need to switch the power to “ON”. You can do this from the back of the remote control by pressing the “Power ON/OFF” button for 3 seconds or longer.

3. Open the shutoff valve:

3.1. Fully open the shutoff valve to allow water to flow to the unit.

The TOTO SW4734 uses a series of automatic functions for hygiene and convenience. “EWATER+” is used automatically to clean the wand and bowl. The typical sequence is as follows:

1. As you approach:

• Auto open / close: The toilet lid opens automatically.

• Auto bowl CLEAN (Pre-mist): A mist of water is automatically sprayed inside the bowl to make it more difficult for dirt to adhere. The Bowl light will light up.

2. As you sit:

• Deodorizer: The deodorizer starts automatically, removing odors from inside the bowl.

3. As you stand up:

• Auto power deodorizer: After about 10 seconds, the auto power deodorizer starts and stops about 60 seconds after you stand up.

• Auto flushing: After about 10 seconds, the toilet flushes automatically. The type of flush (light or full) depends on how long you were seated.

• Auto wand CLEAN: If the washing functions were used, the wand extends after about 25 seconds to clean itself with EWATER+.

• Auto bowl CLEAN (After-mist): After the auto wand clean, or about 25 seconds after standing if washing was not used, an EWATER+ mist is sprayed on the bowl unit.

4. As you move away:

• Auto open / close: The toilet lid and toilet seat close automatically.

When the toilet is used in a standing position:

• Auto flushing: The toilet performs a light flush.

• Auto open / close: The toilet lid and toilet seat close.

These mechanisms are based on default settings and can be changed.

Operate the controls on the front of the remote control. A beep will sound when the main unit receives the signal. You must be seated on the toilet for washing and drying functions to work.

• Stop: Press the ■ (Stop) button to stop any washing or drying operation.

• Rear washing: Press the button with the rear washing icon to wash your rear. Press it again to switch to Rear soft washing for a gentler, embracing water flow.

• Front washing: Press the button with the front washing icon. This serves as a bidet for ladies. Press it again to switch to Wide front washing which gently washes a wider area.

• Warm air drying: Press the button with the fan icon to dry your rear.

• Water pressure adjustment: Press the [+] or [-] buttons to adjust the water pressure to one of five levels.

• Wand position adjustment: Press the [▲] or [▼] buttons to adjust the wand’s washing position to 5 different points.

• Pulsating washing: While a washing function is active, press the pulsating icon button. This feature washes with water pressure that pulsates between soft and strong.

• Oscillating washing: While a washing function is active, press the oscillating icon button. The wand will move back and forth to wash your rear thoroughly.

Note: Settings for water pressure and wand position will return to the initial (3rd) position after about 5 minutes of non-use, unless you change the “Pressure/Position setting”.

The TOTO SW4734 remote control has several additional functions for cleaning, convenience, and customization.

• Wand CLEAN: Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to clean the wand with EWATER+. Water will also come out from around the wand after cleaning.

• Power deodorizer: While seated, press this button to increase suction power and remove odor. It stops automatically after 60 seconds.

• Flushing: Press the “Full flush” or “Light flush” button to flush the toilet. This is available only on models with the flush button on the top side of the remote.

• Opening/closing the toilet seat and lid: Use the lid and seat icons to open or close the toilet lid and seat.

• Personal setting: Up to four users can register their preferred “Water pressure”, “Wand position”, and “Warm water temperature” settings. To use, press the “Personal setting” button to select your registered number (1-4), then press the desired wash button.

• Wand cleaning (on back of remote): Press this button to spray EWATER+ mist on the bowl. This cannot be used when the wand is out or when you are seated.

• Manual spray (on back of remote): Press this button to clean the wand while it is extended.

You can set five different temperature levels (from low to high) or “OFF” for the warm water, toilet seat, and drying air. The controls are on the back of the remote control.

To adjust the temperature:

1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

2. Press the button for the temperature you want to adjust:

• “Warm water temperature” button

• “Toilet seat temperature” button

• “Drying air temperature” button

The current temperature level will appear on the LED display.

3. Press the selected button repeatedly to cycle through the temperature levels (OFF, Low, Medium-low, Medium, Medium-high, High). Stop when the desired level is illuminated.

4. Mount the remote control back in the hanger. The setting is saved. If no button is pressed for about 10 seconds, the LED will go off, but the setting will be retained.

Note: The Drying temperature cannot be turned “OFF”.

To turn the Warm Water or Toilet Seat temperature “OFF”:

1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

2. Select either the “Warm water temperature” or “Toilet seat temperature” button and press it.

3. Press the selected button repeatedly until the temperature level is set to “OFF”.

4. Mount the remote control back in the hanger.

To change various settings, you need to enter the setting mode on the remote control. The following settings can be adjusted:

• Auto energy saver

• Auto flushing

• Auto flush delay

• Auto flush lid closed

• Auto open / close

• Auto close delay

• Auto open delay

• Seat/lid opening preference

• Auto wand CLEAN

• Auto bowl CLEAN

• Deodorizer

• Auto power deodorizer

• Night light

• Soft light

• Bowl light

• CLEAN indicator

• Beep sound

• Pressure/position setting memory

• Personal setting lock

• Sensor detection range

To enter setting mode, press and hold the “Stop” button on the front of the remote for about 10 seconds until the LEDs start flashing.

For settings like “Night light”, “Soft light”, “Bowl light”, “CLEAN indicator”, “Beep sound”, “Pressure/position setting”, and “Personal setting”, you must press and hold both the “Stop” button and the “Water pressure +” button for about 10 seconds.

Once in setting mode, you will use different buttons on the remote to select and change the desired setting. Please refer to the specific instructions for each setting you wish to change.

The TOTO SW4734 offers three energy saver options to reduce power consumption by lowering or turning off the toilet seat heater.

• Auto energy saver: The product learns your usage patterns over about 10 days and automatically lowers the toilet seat temperature during periods of infrequent use.

• Auto energy saver+: In addition to the “Auto energy saver” feature, this mode automatically turns off the toilet seat heater completely during time periods when the toilet is not used.

• Timer energy saver: You can set a preset duration of 6 or 9 hours during which the toilet seat heater turns off every day. To set it, press the “Timer energy saver” button at the time you want the saving period to start. For example, to save energy from 1 am to 7 am (6 hours), press the button at 1 am until the “6” LED illuminates.

To set Auto energy saver or Auto energy saver+:

1. Press the “Auto energy saver” button on the remote control.

2. The setting changes each time you press the button, cycling through “Auto energy saver” (lit LED), “Auto energy saver+” (lit LED), and “OFF”.

You can also use the Timer energy saver in combination with one of the Auto energy saver modes for maximum energy savings.

You can customize several aspects of the auto flushing feature on your TOTO SW4734.

Turn Auto Flushing ON/OFF:

1. Press the “Auto flushing” button on the remote control (the button with a toilet icon and circling arrows).

2. The setting changes between ON (LED is lit) and OFF (LED is off) each time the button is pressed.

Change the Auto Flush Delay Time:

This changes the time between when you stand up and when the toilet automatically flushes.

1. Press and hold the “Stop” button for about 10 seconds until the remote control LEDs flash.

2. Press the “Rear washing” button.

3. Press the “Front washing” button.

4. Choose the delay time:

• For SET 1 (Short, ~5 seconds): Press the “Water pressure -” button (Short beeps).

• For SET 2 (Standard, ~10 seconds): Press the “Rear washing” button (Long beep).

• For SET 3 (Long, ~15 seconds): Press the “Water pressure +” button (Short beep).

Turn “Auto flush lid closed” ON/OFF:

This setting makes the toilet lid close automatically before the auto flush.

1. Press and hold the “Stop” button for about 10 seconds until the remote control LEDs flash.

2. Press the “Rear washing” button.

3. Press the “Water pressure +” button.

4. Choose the setting:

• To turn ON: Press the “Rear washing” button (Short beep).

• To turn OFF: Press the “Front washing” button (Long beep).

You can customize the automatic opening and closing behavior of the toilet lid and seat on your TOTO SW4734.

Turn Auto Open / Close ON or OFF:

1. Press the “Auto open / close” button on the remote control.

2. The setting changes between ON and OFF each time the button is pressed. Check the corresponding LED on the back of the remote to confirm the setting.

Change Auto Close Delay:

This changes the time before the lid/seat closes automatically.

1. Enter setting mode by holding the “Stop” button for ~10 seconds.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press the “Rear washing” button.

4. Choose the delay: Press “Water pressure -” for SET 1 (Short, ~25 seconds) or “Water pressure +” for SET 2 (Standard, ~90 seconds).

Change Auto Open Delay:

This changes the time after closing before the lid will automatically open again.

1. Enter setting mode by holding the “Stop” button for ~10 seconds.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press the “Water pressure +” button.

4. Choose the delay: Press “Rear washing” for SET 1 (Standard, ~15s), “Front washing” for SET 2 (Middle, ~30s), or “Water pressure -” for SET 3 (Long, ~90s).

Set Lid or Seat/Lid to Open Automatically:

You can choose whether only the lid opens, or both the seat and lid open when you approach.

1. Enter setting mode by holding the “Stop” button for ~10 seconds.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press the “Water pressure -” button.

4. Choose the setting: Press “Rear washing” for “Lid only” or “Front washing” for “Seat and lid”.

You can register preferred settings for up to four users and lock these settings to prevent changes.

Registering Personal Settings:

1. Press the “Personal setting lock” button (icon with a person and a number 8).

2. Press the button again to select the location you want to register (Register 1, 2, 3, or 4). The LED will indicate the selected location.

3. While seated, use a washing function (e.g., “Rear washing”) and adjust the “Wand position”, “Water pressure”, and “Warm water temperature” to your preference.

4. Press and hold the “Personal setting lock” button for about 5 seconds or longer to save the settings.

Turn Personal Setting Lock ON/OFF:

This setting prevents personal settings from being used or changed.

1. Enter setting mode by holding “Stop” and “Water pressure +” for ~10 seconds.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press the “Water pressure -” button.

4. The current setting is displayed. Press “Water pressure -” again to toggle between ON and OFF.

5. Press the “Stop” button to complete.

Regular cleaning keeps your TOTO SW4734 hygienic and in good working condition.

For daily cleaning of the main unit exterior:

1. Turn the power “OFF” by unplugging the power cord.

2. Wipe the unit with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly.

3. For heavy dirt, wipe with a soft cloth soaked in diluted, pH neutral kitchen detergent. Then, wipe again with a water-soaked cloth to remove any detergent residue.

4. Turn the power “ON” by plugging the power cord back in.

To clean between the main unit and the toilet bowl (approximately once a month):

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Remove the main unit from the toilet bowl. Press the “Main unit removal button” on the right side of the unit and pull the unit toward you.

3. Clean the top of the bowl unit and the bottom of the main unit with a soft cloth and diluted, pH neutral kitchen detergent. Wipe away any detergent with a water-soaked cloth.

4. Mount the main unit back onto the base plate. Align the unit with the center of the base plate and press it firmly until a click sound is heard. Ensure the power cord and water hose are not pinched. After mounting, check that it does not detach when pulled.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

Attention: This is an electrical appliance. Be careful not to let water or detergent seep inside the unit or into the gap between the main unit and bowl. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners.

You should clean the wand approximately once a month or if you notice dirt.

1. Extend the wand for cleaning. This is done using the remote control. You must enter a special mode:

• Press and hold both the “Stop” and “Water pressure +” buttons on the front of the remote for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash.

• Press the “Water pressure +” button.

• Press the “Front washing” button.

• Press the “Rear washing” button.

The wand will extend and spray water for cleaning, then retract after about 5 minutes.

2. Wipe the extended wand. While the wand is extended, use a soft cloth soaked in water to wipe it clean. Do not pull, push, or press the wand with excessive force, as this may cause damage.

3. Retract the wand. Press the “Stop” button on the remote control. The wand will retract.

Cleaning the filters is an important maintenance task.

Deodorizing Filter (Approximately once a month):

1. Turn the power “OFF” (unplug the unit).

2. Remove the deodorizing filter, located on the right side of the main unit. Hold the tab and pull it outward.

3. Clean the filter with a tool such as a toothbrush. If washing with water, dry it completely before reinserting.

4. Reinsert the deodorizing filter. Push it firmly until a click sound is heard.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

Drain Plug with Water Supply Filter (Approximately once every 6 months, or if water pressure is weak):

1. Close the shutoff valve completely to stop the water supply.

2. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button on the back of the remote to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

3. Turn the power “OFF”.

4. Open the toilet seat and lid.

5. Open the filter cover on the front-left of the main unit using a flat-head screwdriver. Then, use the screwdriver to loosen and remove the drain plug with the water supply filter.

6. Clean the filter with a toothbrush. Also, remove any dust from inside the hole of the drain plug housing.

7. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely with the screwdriver. Close the cover until it clicks.

8. Turn the power “ON”.

9. Open the shutoff valve.

If there is a water service interruption, follow these steps:

1. To flush the toilet bowl, use a large bucket of water. Pour it strongly, aiming at the center of the bowl.

2. If the water level in the bowl is low after flushing, add more water to prevent odors.

Important Attention: Before starting, turn “Auto flushing” OFF in the settings. When the water supply is restored, first use water from another source in your home (like a kitchen or bath faucet) to clear air from the water pipes before using the TOTO SW4734. This prevents air from entering the unit and causing failure.

If the remote control is not working, first check the low battery warning mark on its surface. If it is flashing, you need to replace the batteries.

Replacing the batteries:

1. Unplug the TOTO SW4734 power cord.

2. Remove the remote control from its hanger.

3. Open the battery cover on the back and replace the two old AAA batteries with two new ones.

4. Mount the remote control back in the hanger.

5. Plug the TOTO SW4734 power cord back in.

Note that after replacing batteries, settings like the energy saver may be canceled and will need to be set again.

If the batteries are fine, check for obstructions, dirt, or water droplets on the remote control transmitter or the receiver on the main unit and clean them.

When the ambient temperature is likely to drop to 32 °F (0 °C) or lower, you must take measures to prevent freezing, which can damage the product.

To Prevent Freezing:

• Do not use the energy saver feature, as this lowers the temperature of the unit.

• Keep the bathroom warm.

• Set the toilet seat temperature to “High”. Close the toilet seat and lid after use to help maintain temperature.

If you need to drain the unit to prevent freezing:

1. Before starting, set “Auto flush” and “Auto open/close” to “OFF”.

2. Close the shutoff valve.

3. Drain the water from the toilet tank by flushing.

4. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button on the remote to release pressure from the water pipe.

5. Turn the power “OFF”.

6. Drain the pipe by removing the drain plug with water supply filter located on the front-left of the main unit.

If the toilet will not be used for a long time, you should drain the water to prevent it from becoming contaminated or freezing and causing damage.

How to drain the water:

1. Close the shutoff valve.

2. Drain the water from the toilet tank by flushing until the water stops.

3. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button on the remote control to release the pressure from the water supply pipe.

4. Turn the power “OFF” (unplug the unit).

5. Open the toilet seat and lid. Insert a flat-head screwdriver into the hook on the cover on the front-left of the unit to open it. Loosen the drain plug with the screwdriver and pull it out to drain the remaining water.

6. After draining, reinstall the drain plug and close the cover securely.

How to resupply water when you return:

1. Open the shutoff valve. Check for any leaks.

2. If the power is off, turn it “ON”.

3. Discharge any old water from the wand. To do this, touch the seat sensor area with your hand or arm, then press the “Rear washing” button. Catch the water in a paper cup. After a few seconds, move your hand or arm away from the sensor.

If the wand or washing water does not come out:

• Make sure you are properly seated so your skin is in direct contact with the seat sensor. Clothing or toilet seat covers can block the sensor.

• If you are pressing the “Wand CLEAN” button, this is for cleaning the wand, not for washing. Use the “Rear” or “Front” wash buttons.

If the wand extends but washing water is weak or does not come out:

• Check if the water shutoff valve is fully open.

• The drain plug with water supply filter may be clogged. Clean the filter.

• Check if the water pressure is set to a low level and adjust it if necessary.

If the washing water is cold:

• Check if the warm water temperature is set to “OFF” or a low level. Adjust the temperature.

• In a cold bathroom or with a cold water supply, the water may feel cool when first sprayed as it takes time to heat up.

If a function stops unexpectedly during use, check the following:

• Automatic stop: “Rear washing”, “Front washing”, and their variations stop automatically after about 5 minutes of continuous use. “Warm air drying” stops after about 10 minutes. This is a normal safety feature.

• Seat sensor detection: If you shift your weight, get up slightly, or sit too far to the side, the seat sensor may temporarily stop detecting your presence. This will cause the washing or drying to stop. Ensure you are sitting firmly on the seat so the sensor is in direct contact with your skin.

• Long continuous use: If the toilet has been sat on and used continuously for 2 hours or longer, operation is stopped for safety purposes. Stand up from the seat and then use it again.

If the bowl unit does not clean automatically or the timing is delayed:

• Ensure “Auto flushing” is set to “ON”.

• Auto flushing does not work for about 60 seconds after a previous flush.

• Auto flushing does not activate if you were seated for less than about 6 seconds.

• When using the toilet in a standing position, the auto flush will occur after a maximum of about 20 seconds after you leave the bathroom.

• The timing for the “Auto flushing” can be changed in the settings from standard to short or long.

If the toilet flushes on its own:

• Check the seat sensor. If you get up slightly or shift on the seat, the sensor may not detect properly, causing a flush when you resettle.

• In certain bathroom layouts, a light flush may occur if the toilet seat and lid are open and you stand in front of or walk past the front of the bowl unit, especially if “Auto open / close” is set to [SEAT/LID].

If the toilet lid does not open automatically:

• Make sure the “Auto open/close” feature is set to “ON”.

• There is a delay of about 15 seconds after the lid is closed (manually or by remote) before it will auto open again. Move away and wait at least 15 seconds before approaching again.

• For about 20 seconds after the power is turned ON, the lid will not open automatically.

• Remove any toilet lid or seat covers, as they can interfere with operation.

• You can change the detection range of the body sensor if it is not detecting you properly.

If the toilet lid does not close automatically:

• Make sure the “Auto open/close” feature is set to “ON”.

• If you did not sit on the toilet seat, or sat for less than 6 seconds, the lid will close after about 5 minutes.

If the toilet lid opens on its own:

• The body sensor can detect movement through a wall or door, which may cause it to open. You can change the detection range of the body sensor or turn “Auto open/close” to “OFF”.

• If there is a urinal or wash basin nearby, the sensor may detect someone using them, causing the lid to open.

If the deodorizer seems to not be working:

• Check if the “Deodorizer” setting is turned “OFF”. Set it to “ON”.

• The deodorizer only works when you are seated. Ensure you are sitting so your skin is in direct contact with the seat sensor.

• If you hear the deodorizer operating but odors are not removed, the deodorizing filter may be clogged. Clean the deodorizing filter.

If a strange odor is emitted:

• The use of a separate air freshener or deodorizer can reduce the effectiveness of the built-in deodorizer or cause strange odors. Remove any other air fresheners from the bathroom.

If the auto power deodorizer feature is not working:

• Check if the “Auto power deodorizer” setting is turned “OFF”. Set it to “ON”.

• The auto power deodorizer starts about 10 seconds after you stand up from the toilet seat.

If the pre-mist or after-mist function is not working, please check the following:

• Make sure the “Auto bowl CLEAN” setting is set to “ON”.

• The misting functions do not work when the toilet seat is open.

• If you use the pre-mist or after-mist immediately after the previous user leaves the bathroom, it may not be activated.

If the pre-mist sprays out spontaneously:

• The body sensor can detect movement through a wall or door, which may cause the “Auto bowl CLEAN” function to activate. You can turn “Auto bowl CLEAN” to “OFF” if this is an issue.

• If the washing functions have not been used for about 8 hours, the “Auto bowl CLEAN” function will start automatically and spray mist inside the bowl unit.
