Please adhere to the following safety precautions when using your TOTO SW4724:

WARNINGS:

• Never disassemble, repair, or alter the product.

• If a malfunction occurs (water leak, crack, strange noise/odor, smoke, abnormal heat), immediately cut off power and close the water shutoff valve.

• Use only potable water. Do not use seawater or recycled water.

• Keep open flames like cigarettes away from the product.

• Refrain from sitting on the seat for long periods to avoid low-temperature burns. Special care should be taken for young children, the elderly, the ill, or those who cannot adjust the temperature themselves.

• Turn the power OFF before maintenance or inspection.

• Do not touch the power cord connection with wet hands.

• Do not get water or cleaning solution on the main unit or power connections.

• Do not touch the power source during thunderstorms.

• Ensure the power cord is not damaged. Do not strike, yank, twist, bend, or place heavy objects on it.

• Use a properly grounded outlet.

• Periodically clean dust from the power plug.

• Do not use a loose or faulty electrical outlet.

• Insert the power plug securely.

• To unplug, hold the power plug, not the cord.

CAUTIONS:

• Do not use the product if the main unit is unstable.

• Do not apply strong force, step on, or stand on the toilet seat, lid, or main unit.

• Do not lift the product by the toilet seat or lid.

• When cleaning plastic parts, use a pH-neutral kitchen detergent diluted with water. Do not use toilet cleaner, benzene, paint thinner, etc.

• To prevent a sudden water leak, do not remove the drain plug with water supply filter when the shutoff valve is open.

• If the bowl is clogged, turn the power OFF before removing the clog.

• Push the main unit securely onto the base plate until it clicks.

• When replacing batteries, use new ones of the same brand and ensure correct polarity.

1. Insert the battery in the remote control:

Step 1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

Step 2. Open the battery cover on the back, insert two AAA alkaline batteries, and close the cover. When batteries are properly loaded, all LEDs on the remote control will light up for about 2 seconds.

Step 3. Mount the remote control in the hanger.

2. Turn on the power:

Step 1. Insert the power plug into the outlet. The wand will extend and then retract.

Step 2. Check that the “Power” LED on the main unit illuminates.

3. Open the shutoff valve:

Step 1. Fully open the shutoff valve.

The TOTO SW4724 performs several functions automatically based on user presence and actions. The sequence under default settings is as follows:

1. As you approach:

• The toilet lid opens (“Auto open / close”).

• A mist is automatically sprayed inside the bowl (“Auto bowl CLEAN” or Pre-mist) to make it more difficult for dirt to adhere. The Bowl light lights up.

2. As you sit:

• The deodorizer starts, removing odors inside the bowl unit.

3. As you stand up:

• The auto power deodorizer starts after about 10 seconds and stops about 60 seconds after you stand up.

• The toilet flushes automatically after about 10 seconds (“Auto flushing”). The flush type (light or full) depends on how long you were seated.

• If washing functions were used, the wand extends to clean itself with EWATER+ after about 25 seconds (“Auto wand CLEAN”).

• After wand cleaning (or after 25 seconds if washing was not used), an “EWATER+” mist is sprayed on the bowl unit (“Auto bowl CLEAN” or After-mist).

4. As you move away:

• If the toilet was used in a standing position, it performs a light flush (“Auto flushing”).

• The toilet lid and toilet seat close automatically (“Auto open / close”).

Operate the controls on the front of the remote control. A beep sounds when the main unit receives the signal. You must be seated on the toilet for washing and drying functions to operate.

• Stop: Press the Stop button to stop any washing or drying operation.

• Rear washing: Washes your rear. Press the button again to switch to Rear soft washing for a softer, embracing water flow.

• Front washing: Serves as a bidet for ladies. Press the button again to switch to Wide front washing, which gently washes a wider area.

• Warm air drying: Dries your rear.

• Water pressure adjustment: Press the “+” button for stronger pressure and the “-” button for softer pressure (5 levels).

• Wand position adjustment: While washing, press the “▲” and “▼” buttons to adjust the wand position forward or backward (5 points).

• Pulsating washing: Washes with water pressure pulsating between soft and strong.

• Oscillating washing: The wand moves back and forth to wash thoroughly.

The remote control provides access to several other functions:

• Wand CLEAN: Cleans the wand with EWATER+. After cleaning, water comes out from around the wand.

• Power deodorizer: While seated, press this button to increase suction power and remove odor. It stops automatically after 60 seconds.

• Opening/closing the toilet seat and lid: Use the dedicated buttons to open and close the toilet lid and seat.

• Flushing: Use the Full flush or Light flush buttons to flush the toilet. (This feature is available only on certain models).

• Personal setting: Up to four users can register their preferred “Water pressure”, “Wand position”, and “Warm water temperature” settings.

• Low battery warning mark: A light will flash when the remote control batteries are low.

• Power ON/OFF button (on back): Press and hold for 3 seconds or longer to turn the WASHLET operation ON or OFF.

• Manual spray (on back): Sprays EWATER+ mist on the bowl unit for maintenance. Cannot be used when the wand is out or when you are seated.

• Temperature Adjustments (on back): Buttons to adjust Warm water, Toilet seat, and Drying air temperatures.

• Energy Saver buttons (on back): Buttons to activate Auto energy saver, Auto energy saver+, and Timer energy saver modes.

You can set five different temperature levels from low to high, or turn the heating OFF (except for drying).

To Adjust the Temperature:

Step 1. Remove the remote control from the hanger to access the buttons on the back.

Step 2. Press the button for the feature you want to adjust: (“Warm water temperature”), (“Toilet seat temperature”), or (“Drying air temperature”). The current temperature level appears on the remote control’s LED display.

Step 3. Press the same button repeatedly to cycle through the temperature levels (OFF, Low, Medium-low, Medium, Medium-high, High). The corresponding LED will light up.

Step 4. Mount the remote control back in the hanger. The setting is saved. If no button is pressed for about 10 seconds, the display will turn off, but the setting will be retained.

To Turn Temperature “OFF”:

Step 1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

Step 2. Select either the “Warm water temperature” or “Toilet seat temperature” button and press it.

Step 3. Press the button repeatedly until the temperature level is set to “OFF”.

Step 4. Mount the remote control back in the hanger. When the seat temperature is set to OFF, the SEAT LED on the main unit is unilluminated.

Note: The Drying temperature cannot be turned “OFF”.

Your TOTO SW4724 has three types of energy saver modes. When an energy saver is on, the green LED on the main display is lit, and the toilet seat temperature becomes low or OFF to save energy.

Auto energy saver: The product learns your usage patterns over about 10 days and automatically lowers the toilet seat temperature during periods of infrequent use.

• To set: Press the “Auto energy saver” button on the remote. The setting changes each time the button is pressed. When set to “Auto energy saver”, the corresponding LED on the remote lights up.

Auto energy saver+: In addition to the “Auto energy saver” feature, this mode automatically turns off the toilet seat heater during periods when the toilet is not used at all.

• To set: Press the “Auto energy saver” button. The setting cycles through “Auto energy saver”, “Auto energy saver+”, and “OFF”. Select “Auto energy saver+” when its LED is lit.

Timer energy saver: You can set a preset duration (6 or 9 hours) during which the toilet seat heater turns off every day.

• To set: At the time you want the energy-saving period to start (e.g., 11 PM), press the “Timer energy saver” button repeatedly until the desired duration (“6” or “9” LED) illuminates. The toilet seat heater will now turn off for that duration at that same time every day.

To change advanced settings, you need to enter the setting mode on the remote control. The general procedure is as follows:

Step 1. Enter Setting Mode: Press and hold the “Stop” button on the front of the remote for about 10 seconds until all the LEDs start flashing.

Step 2. Select Setting Category: Press a specific button (e.g., “Rear washing”, “Front washing”) to select the category of settings you wish to change. Refer to the manual for which button corresponds to which setting group.

Step 3. Select the Specific Setting: Press another button (often “Water pressure +” or “-“) to cycle through the available options for that setting. Each option is usually confirmed by a short or long beep.

Step 4. Exit Setting Mode: The setting is saved, and the remote will exit setting mode automatically after about 60 seconds of inactivity, or by pressing the “Stop” button on some settings.

Examples of changeable settings include: Auto flush delay, Auto open/close behavior, Deodorizer activation, Night light mode, Beep sound, and Sensor detection range.

You can register preferred settings for Wand position, Water pressure, and Warm water temperature for up to four users.

Step 1. Press the “Personal setting lock” button on the remote to select a register location (Register 1, 2, 3, or 4). The setting changes each time the button is pressed.

Step 2. While using a wash function (e.g., “Rear washing”), adjust the “Wand position”, “Water pressure”, and “Warm water temperature” to your preference.

Step 3. Press and hold the “Personal setting lock” button for about 5 seconds or longer. The setting is now registered.

To use a registered setting, simply press the “Personal setting lock” button to select your registered number, then press the desired wash button.

Approximately Daily Cleaning:

Step 1. Turn the power “OFF”.

Step 2. Wipe the unit with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly.

Step 3. For heavy dirt, use a soft cloth soaked in diluted, pH-neutral kitchen detergent, then wipe again with a water-dampened cloth.

Step 4. Turn the power “ON”.

To Clean Between the Main Unit and Bowl (Approximately Once a Month):

Step 1. Turn the power “OFF”.

Step 2. Remove the main unit by pressing the “Main unit removal button” on the side and pulling the unit toward you.

Step 3. Clean the top of the bowl unit and the bottom of the main unit with a soft cloth and diluted pH-neutral detergent.

Step 4. Mount the main unit back onto the base plate, aligning it and pushing firmly until you hear a click sound.

Step 5. Turn the power “ON”.

You can manually clean the wand if you notice dirt.

Step 1. Extend the wand. This can be done by pressing the “Wand cleaning” button on the back of the remote control.

Step 2. Wipe the extended wand with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly. Do not pull, push, or press the wand with excessive force.

Step 3. Press the “Stop” button on the remote control. The wand will retract.

Clean the filter approximately once a month.

Step 1. Turn the power “OFF”.

Step 2. Remove the deodorizing filter by holding the tab and pulling it outward.

Step 3. Clean the filter with a tool such as a toothbrush. If washing with water, dry it completely before reinserting.

Step 4. Reinsert the deodorizing filter, pushing firmly until a click sound is heard.

Step 5. Turn the power “ON”.

Clean this filter approximately every 6 months, or if water pressure is weak.

Step 1. Close the shutoff valve to stop the water supply.

Step 2. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

Step 3. Turn the power “OFF”.

Step 4. Open the toilet seat and lid.

Step 5. Open the filter cover by inserting a flat-head screwdriver in the hook. Then, loosen the drain plug with the screwdriver and pull it out.

Step 6. Clean the filter with a toothbrush. Also, remove any dust from inside the hole where the filter was.

Step 7. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely with the screwdriver. Close the cover by pushing it in until it clicks.

Step 8. Turn the power “ON”.

Step 9. Open the shutoff valve.

Step 1. Use a bucket with a large amount of water to flush the bowl unit manually. Pour it strongly, aiming at the center of the bowl.

Step 2. If the water level in the bowl is low after flushing, add more water to prevent odors.

Note: Before starting, it’s recommended to turn “Auto flushing” OFF. When the water supply is restored, first run water from a different fixture (like a sink or bath) to clear air from the pipes before using the WASHLET.

If the remote control is not working, first check if the low battery warning mark is flashing on the remote. If it is, replace the batteries.

To Replace the Batteries:

Step 1. Unplug the power plug for the main unit.

Step 2. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

Step 3. Open the battery cover and replace both AAA batteries with new ones.

Step 4. Mount the remote control in the hanger.

Step 5. Turn the power “ON”. Note that some settings like energy saver may be canceled when batteries are replaced and will need to be set again.

If batteries are not the issue, check if the remote control transmitter or the receiver on the main unit is blocked by obstructions, dirt, or water droplets. Clean any blockages.

When the ambient temperature is likely to drop to 32 °F (0 °C) or lower, take measures to prevent freezing.

Option 1: Keep Bathroom Warm

• Warm the bathroom or take other measures to ensure the temperature does not drop below freezing.

• Set the toilet seat temperature to “High”.

• Keep the toilet seat and lid closed after use to maintain temperature.

Option 2: Drain the Water

Step 1. Close the shutoff valve.

Step 2. Drain the water from the toilet tank by flushing.

Step 3. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

Step 4. Turn the power “OFF”.

Step 5. Drain the pipe by opening the cover and removing the drain plug with water supply filter using a flat-head screwdriver.

Step 6. After draining, reinstall the drain plug and close the cover.

If the toilet will not be used for a long time, it is recommended to drain the water to prevent contamination or damage.

Step 1. Close the shutoff valve.

Step 2. Drain the water from the toilet tank by manipulating the flush lever/button.

Step 3. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button on the remote to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

Step 4. Turn the power “OFF” by unplugging the unit.

Step 5. Open the toilet seat and lid. Insert a flat-head screwdriver in the hook of the filter cover to open it.

Step 6. Loosen the drain plug with water supply filter using a flat-head screwdriver and then pull it out to drain the remaining water.

Step 7. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely. Push the cover closed until it clicks.

Step 1. Open the shutoff valve. Check that water is not leaking from any pipes or the main unit.

Step 2. If the power is off, turn the power ON. The “Power” LED will illuminate.

Step 3. Discharge any old water from the wand:

• Keep your hand or arm in contact with the seat sensor to activate it.

• Press the “Rear washing” button to discharge water. Catch this water in a paper cup or other receptacle.

• Move your hand or arm away from the seat sensor.

There are several potential reasons for this issue:

• Seat Sensor Not Activated: Ensure you are sitting properly on the toilet seat so your skin is in direct contact with the seat sensor. Toilet seat covers or clothing can block the sensor.

• Water Heater Delay: In low temperatures, it may take a moment for the water to heat up before the wand extends. Please wait a few seconds.

• Water Supply Issue: Check if the shutoff valve is fully open. Also, a water failure in your home could be the cause.

• Clogged Filter: The drain plug with water supply filter may be clogged. Clean the filter.

• Low Pressure Setting: The water pressure may be set to a low level. Use the remote to increase the pressure.

If your toilet seat is cold, check the following:

• Temperature Setting: The toilet seat temperature may be set to “OFF” or a low level. Adjust the temperature using the button on the back of the remote control.

• Energy Saver Mode: An energy saver feature (Auto energy saver, Auto energy saver+, or Timer energy saver) may be active. When active, the seat temperature is lowered or turned off to save energy. When you sit on the seat, it will begin to warm up, which can take several minutes. You can turn the energy saver feature “OFF” if you prefer.

• Long Seated Time: After about 20 minutes of continuous sitting, the temperature begins to lower, and after about 1 hour, the heater turns off for safety. Stand up and sit down again to reactivate it.

If the deodorizer is not working correctly, please check the following points:

• Setting is “OFF”: The “Deodorizer” or “Auto power deodorizer” setting may be turned off. Use the remote control’s setting mode to turn it “ON”.

• Seat Sensor: The deodorizer only works when someone is sitting on the seat. Make sure you are sitting so your skin is in direct contact with the seat sensor.

• Dirty Filter: The deodorizing filter may be clogged with dust. Clean the deodorizing filter as instructed in the maintenance section.

• External Air Fresheners: If you are using a separate air freshener or deodorizer in the bathroom, it may interfere with the effectiveness of the WASHLET’s built-in deodorizer or cause strange odors. Try removing the external product.

If the pre-mist or after-mist functions are not activating, check these possible causes:

• Setting is “OFF”: The “Auto bowl CLEAN” setting might be turned off. Use the remote control’s setting menu to turn it “ON”.

• Toilet Seat is Open: These functions do not work when the toilet seat is open. Ensure the seat is down.

• Recent Use: If you use the toilet immediately after the previous user, the pre-mist or after-mist may not activate.

• Lid Closed on Entry: Pre-mist will not activate if the toilet lid is closed when you enter the bathroom. You must open the toilet lid first.
