General Safety:

• Never disassemble, repair or alter the product.

• Do not use the product if a malfunction occurs. Immediately cut off power and close the water shutoff valve. Continued use could cause fire, electrical shock, or water damage.

• Use only potable water. Do not use seawater or recycled water.

• Keep cigarettes and other open flames away from the product.

• Refrain from sitting on the seat for long periods to avoid low-temperature burns. Special care should be taken for children, the elderly, and those unable to adjust the temperature themselves.

• Turn the power OFF before maintenance, inspection, or removing the main unit.

• If battery fluid leaks and adheres to your body or clothes, wash it away with clean water.

Electrical Safety:

• Do not touch power cord connections with wet hands.

• Do not get water or cleaning solution on the main unit or power supply connections.

• Do not touch the power source connection during thunderstorms.

• Do not use any power supply other than the specified AC 120 V, 60 Hz.

• Ensure the power cord is not damaged. Do not strike, yank, twist, bend, or place heavy objects on the power cord.

• Confirm the product is connected to a properly grounded outlet.

• Periodically remove dust from the power plug and ensure it is securely plugged in.

• Do not use a loose or faulty electrical outlet.

Installation and Environment:

• This is an electrical product. Do not install it where water is likely to get on it or in high humidity. Ensure good airflow in the bathroom.

• Always connect the product to the cold water supply.

• Do not install the product on moving vehicles like boats or RVs.

• Do not stick fingers or anything else into the warm air outlet or place items on it.

To ensure proper function and prevent damage to your TOTO SW4726AT40, please observe the following precautions:

Usage Precautions:

• Do not block the body sensor or seat sensor. The body sensor detects changes in heat. Detection may be difficult if room temperature exceeds 30°C, if sunlight hits the sensor, or if used by a small child. The seat sensor must have direct skin contact to work properly; seat covers or clothing can interfere with detection.

• Wipe any water droplets off the seat sensor to prevent malfunction.

• Do not lean against the toilet lid.

• Do not use the product with the toilet lid removed.

• Do not expose the product to direct sunlight, as it may cause discoloration or malfunction.

• Do not block the remote control transmitter or receiver.

• A toilet seat cover or toilet lid cover cannot be used, as it may interfere with the sensors.

• If you use a booster seat for infants, remove it after use.

• Do not urinate on the main unit, toilet seat, or wand.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

• When cleaning plastic parts, use a soft cloth with a diluted, pH-neutral kitchen detergent. Do not use toilet cleaner, household cleaner, benzene, paint thinner, powdered cleanser, or a nylon scrubbing brush.

• Wipe plastic areas with a soft cloth tightly wrung out with water.

• When using a toilet cleaner, rinse it off within 3 minutes and leave the toilet seat and lid open. Wipe off any cleaner that remains on the bowl unit.

Your TOTO SW4726AT40 consists of several components:

• Main Unit: The main body of the WASHLET, which includes the heated seat, wand, and warm air dryer.

• Toilet Lid and Seat: Features toilet lid cushions and toilet seat cushions.

• Sensors:

• Body Sensor: Detects changes in heat for certain automatic functions.

• Seat Sensor (Built-in): Detects when a person is seated on the toilet.

• Internal Components:

• Wand: Extends to provide washing functions.

• Wand Cover: Protects the wand when not in use.

• Warm Air Outlet Cover: The vent for the warm air dryer.

• Deodorizer Outlet: The vent for the deodorizing function.

• External Connections and Controls:

• Power Cord and Plug: Connects the unit to a power outlet.

• Water Supply Hose: Connects the unit to the shutoff valve.

• Main Display: Located on the unit, it includes the Power LED, Seat LED, Energy saver LED, and CLEAN indicator.

• Drain Plug with Water Supply Filter: Located on the front side of the main unit for maintenance.

• Deodorizing Filter: Located on the right side of the main unit.

• Remote Control Receiver: Receives signals from the remote control.

Follow these steps to prepare your TOTO SW4726AT40 for its first use:

1. Insert the Battery in the Remote Control

• Remove the remote control from the wall-mounted hanger.

• Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control.

• Insert two AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

• Close the battery cover. When batteries are loaded correctly, all LEDs on the remote will light up for about 2 seconds.

• Mount the remote control back in the hanger.

2. Turn on the Power

• Insert the power plug into a grounded electrical outlet. The wand will extend and then retract automatically.

• Check that the “Power” LED on the main unit illuminates. If it is off, press and hold the “Power ON/OFF” button on the back of the remote control for 3 seconds or longer.

3. Open the Shutoff Valve

• Fully open the water supply shutoff valve.

The TOTO SW4726AT40 uses several automatic functions based on default settings. “EWATER+” is used automatically to clean the wand and bowl.

1. As You Approach

• Auto Bowl CLEAN (Pre-mist): A mist is automatically sprayed inside the bowl unit to make it more difficult for dirt to adhere. The Bowl light lights up. Note: Opening a closed toilet lid on the SW4726AT40 activates pre-mist.

2. As You Sit

• Deodorizer: The deodorizer starts automatically, removing odors inside the bowl unit.

3. As You Stand Up

• Auto Power Deodorizer: Starts about 10 seconds after you stand up and stops about 60 seconds later.

• Auto Wand CLEAN: This activates only when washing functions were used. About 25 seconds after standing up, the wand extends to clean itself with EWATER+. The Bowl light lights up.

• Auto Bowl CLEAN (After-mist): If washing functions were not used, after-mist starts after about 25 seconds. EWATER+ mist is sprayed on the bowl unit.

Operate the controls on the remote control; a beep sounds when the main unit receives the signal. Sit down so that the seat sensor touches your skin directly for washing and drying functions to operate.

Main Operations (Front of Remote):

• Stop: Stops the current washing or drying operation.

• Rear Washing: Washes your rear.

• Rear Soft Washing: Washes your rear with a soft, embracing water flow.

• Front Washing: Serves as a bidet for ladies.

• Wide Front Washing: Gently washes a wide area.

• Warm Air Drying: Dries your rear.

• Water Pressure Adjustment (+/-): Adjusts the water pressure to one of five levels. The set position will light up for 10 seconds after pressing.

• Wand Position Adjustment (▲/▼): Adjusts the washing position to 5 different points. Sitting back on the seat makes it easier to adjust and reduces splashing.

• Pulsating Washing: Washes with water pressure pulsating between soft and strong.

• Oscillating Washing: The wand moves back and forth to wash your rear thoroughly.

Additional Operations (Top and Bottom of Remote):

• Wand CLEAN: Cleans the wand with EWATER+. After cleaning, water comes out from around the wand.

• Power Deodorizer: Press to increase suction power and remove odor. Can only be used while seated.

• Opening/Closing Toilet Lid/Seat: Use the buttons to open and close the toilet lid and seat.

• Personal Setting (8): Up to four people can register their preferred “Water pressure”, “Wand position”, and “Warm water temperature” settings.

• Low Battery Warning Mark: Indicates the batteries are low and need to be replaced.

The back of the remote control provides access to various settings. A beep will sound when the main unit receives the signal.

• “Power ON/OFF” button: Press and hold for 3 seconds or longer to turn the WASHLET operation ON or OFF.

• Wand Cleaning / Manual Spray button: Press for “Wand cleaning” to clean the wand. Press for “Manual spray” to spray EWATER+ mist on the bowl unit. This cannot be used when the wand is out or when you are sitting on the toilet seat.

• Warm Water Temperature button: Adjusts the warm water temperature.

• Toilet Seat Temperature button: Adjusts the toilet seat temperature.

• Drying Air Temperature button: Adjusts the drying air temperature.

• Auto Energy Saver / Auto Energy Saver+ button: Activates energy-saving modes.

• Timer Energy Saver button: Activates the timer-based energy-saving mode.

• Setting Confirmation button: The current setting can be discerned from the LEDs.

You can set five different temperature levels from high to low, plus “OFF”.

Adjusting the Temperature:

1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

2. On the back of the remote, press the button for the temperature you want to adjust:

• “Warm water temperature” button

• “Toilet seat temperature” button

• “Drying air temperature” button

3. The current temperature level appears on the display. Press the same button repeatedly to cycle through the levels (High, Medium-high, Medium, Medium-low, Low, OFF) until your desired level illuminates.

4. The setting is complete. When the seat temperature is set, the SEAT LED on the main unit illuminates. If no button is pressed for 10 seconds, the display light will go off, but the setting will be retained.

5. Mount the remote control back in the hanger.

Note: The Drying temperature cannot be turned “OFF”. To prevent condensation, the warm water temperature does not drop below 68°F (20°C) even when set to “OFF”.

You can select “Auto energy saver,” “Auto energy saver+,” or “Timer energy saver” to reduce energy consumption by lowering the toilet seat temperature.

• Auto energy saver: The WASHLET learns your usage patterns and automatically lowers the toilet seat temperature during periods of infrequent use. It takes about 10 days to learn the pattern.

• Auto energy saver+: In addition to the “Auto energy saver” feature, this mode automatically turns off the toilet seat heater during time periods when the toilet is not used at all.

• Timer energy saver: You can set a preset duration (6 or 9 hours) during which the toilet seat heater turns off automatically every day. To set it, press the “Timer energy saver” button at the desired start time until the 6-hour or 9-hour LED illuminates.

You can also use “Timer energy saver” together with “Auto energy saver” or “Auto energy saver+” for maximum energy savings. The auto modes will operate when the timer mode is not active.

1. Press the “Auto energy saver” button on the back of the remote control.

2. The setting changes each time the button is pressed, cycling through the modes:

• “Auto energy saver” (Lit)

• “Auto energy saver+” (Lit)

• “OFF” (Unlit)

3. The setting is complete when your desired mode is selected.

You can turn the automatic wand cleaning and bowl misting functions on or off. To enter setting mode, press and hold the “Stop” button on the front of the remote until all LEDs start flashing (about 10 seconds).

To set Auto wand CLEAN (automatic wand cleaning):

1. In setting mode, press the “Water pressure +” button.

2. Press the “Rear washing” button.

3. Press the button for the desired setting:

• To turn ON: Press the “Water pressure +” button (short beep).

• To turn OFF: Press the “Water pressure -” button (long beep).

To set Auto bowl CLEAN (automatic bowl misting):

1. In setting mode, press the “Water pressure +” button.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press the button for the desired setting:

• To turn ON (“spray”): Press the “Water pressure +” button (short beep).

• To turn OFF (“do not spray”): Press the “Water pressure -” button (long beep).

You can change the settings for the automatic deodorizer that activates when seated and the auto power deodorizer that activates after standing up. First, enter setting mode by pressing and holding the “Stop” button for about 10 seconds until the LEDs flash.

To set the Deodorizer (when seated):

1. In setting mode, press the “Water pressure -” button.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press the button for the desired setting:

• To turn ON: Press “Water pressure +” button (short beep).

• To turn OFF: Press “Water pressure -” button (long beep).

To set the Auto power deodorizer (after standing up):

1. In setting mode, press the “Water pressure -” button.

2. Press the “Water pressure +” button.

3. Press the button for the desired setting:

• To turn ON: Press “Rear washing” button (short beep).

• To turn OFF: Press “Front washing” button (long beep).

You can change “Soft light” and “Bowl light” to “Night mode,” a lighting mode suitable for night. To enter setting mode, press and hold both the “Stop” and “Water pressure +” buttons for about 10 seconds until the remote control LEDs flash.

1. After entering setting mode, press the “Front washing” button.

2. Press the “Water pressure +” button.

3. Choose and press the button for your desired setting:

• ON: The soft light is always on, and the bowl light activates when someone is detected. Press the “Rear washing” button (short beep).

• OFF [STANDBY]: The lights are off. Press the “Front washing” button (long beep).

• TIMER: Set a time window for the light to turn on/off. The light turns ON/OFF every 12 hours starting from the set time. Press the “Water pressure -” button (short beep).

To change these settings, you must first enter setting mode. Press and hold both the “Stop” and “Water pressure +” buttons on the front of the remote for about 10 seconds until the LEDs start to flash.

To set the Soft Light:

1. In setting mode, press the “Rear washing” button.

2. Press the “Front washing” button.

3. Press “Water pressure +” button to turn it ON (short beep) or “Water pressure -” button to turn it OFF (long beep).

To set the Bowl Light:

1. In setting mode, press the “Rear washing” button.

2. Press the “Water pressure +” button.

3. Press the “Rear washing” button to turn it ON (short beep) or the “Front washing” button to turn it OFF (long beep).

To set the CLEAN Indicator:

1. In setting mode, press the “Rear washing” button.

2. Press the “Water pressure -” button.

3. Press the “Rear washing” button to turn it ON (short beep) or the “Front washing” button to turn it OFF (long beep).

To set the Beep Sound:

1. In setting mode, press the “Water pressure -” button.

2. Press the “Rear washing” button.

3. Press “Water pressure +” button to turn it ON (short beep) or “Water pressure -” button to turn it OFF (long beep).

You can register preferred settings for wand position, water pressure, and warm water temperature for up to four users.

1. Press the “Personal setting lock” (8) button on the front of the remote. Press it repeatedly to select the location to be set (Register 1, 2, 3, or 4).

2. While using a washing function like “Rear washing,” adjust the “Wand position,” “Water pressure,” and “Warm water temperature” to your preference.

3. Press and hold the “Personal setting lock” (8) button for about 5 seconds or longer. The setting is now registered to the selected location.

To use a registered setting, simply press the “Personal setting lock” (8) button to select your registered number, then press the desired wash button.

For daily cleaning of plastic areas like the main unit and remote control:

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Wipe with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly.

3. For heavy dirt, you may use a soft cloth soaked in diluted, pH neutral kitchen detergent. Afterward, wipe again with a cloth soaked in plain water to remove any detergent residue.

4. Turn the power “ON”.

Attention: This is an electric appliance. Be careful not to let water seep inside or leave detergent in the gap between the main unit and bowl unit. Do not press or pull the warm air outlet or wand cover with excessive force. Be sure to wipe off any water droplets on the toilet seat to prevent seat sensor malfunction.

You can remove the main unit to clean the top of the bowl unit and the bottom of the main unit approximately once a month.

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Press the “Main unit removal button” on the right side of the unit and pull the main unit toward you to remove it.

3. Clean the top of the bowl unit and the bottom of the main unit. Wipe with a soft cloth soaked in a diluted, pH neutral kitchen detergent, then dry the surface with a soft cloth soaked in water.

4. To reinstall, align the main unit with the center of the base plate and press it firmly onto the base plate until a click sound is heard. Be careful not to pinch the power cord.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

If you notice dirt on the wand, you can extend it for manual cleaning.

1. Extend the wand

• On the back of the remote control, press the “Wand cleaning” button. The wand will extend and water will spray out for cleaning. It automatically retracts after about 5 minutes.

2. Clean the wand

• While the wand is extended, wipe it with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly.

• Attention: Do not pull, push or press the wand with excessive force, as this may cause damage or malfunction.

3. Retract the wand

• Press the “Stop” button on the front of the remote control. The wand will retract.

Clean the deodorizing filter approximately once a month.

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Locate the deodorizing filter on the right side of the main unit. Hold the tab on the filter and pull it outward to remove.

3. Clean the filter with a tool such as a toothbrush. If washing with water, dry off all water before reinserting.

4. Reinsert the deodorizing filter. Push firmly until a click sound is heard.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

Clean this filter approximately every 6 months, or if water pressure is weak.

1. Close the shutoff valve to stop the water supply.

2. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release the pressure from the water supply pipe.

3. Turn the power “OFF”.

4. Open the toilet seat and lid.

5. Open the cover on the front side of the unit by inserting a flat-head screwdriver into the hook. Then, use the screwdriver to loosen and remove the drain plug with water supply filter.

6. Clean the filter with a tool such as a toothbrush. Also remove any dust from inside the hole of the drain plug.

7. Reinstall the drain plug using the flat-head screwdriver to tighten it securely. Close the cover by pushing it in until a click is heard.

8. Turn the power “ON”.

9. Open the shutoff valve.

1. Use a large bucket to manually flush the bowl unit. Pour water strongly, aiming at the center of the bowl.

2. If the water level in the bowl is low after flushing, add more water until the level no longer rises to prevent odors.

3. When the water supply is restored, first use water from another source (like a bath or kitchen faucet) to remove air from the water supply pipes. After that, perform a full flush of the toilet.

First, check if the low battery warning mark on the remote control is flashing. If it is, replace the batteries.

Replacing the batteries:

1. Unplug the main unit’s power cord.

2. Remove the remote control from its hanger.

3. Open the battery cover and replace both AAA batteries with new ones. The low battery warning mark will turn off.

4. Mount the remote control back in its hanger.

5. Turn the power “ON”. Note that some settings like the energy saver may be canceled when batteries are replaced and will need to be set again.

If the remote still doesn’t work, check if the remote control transmitter or the receiver on the main unit are blocked. Remove any obstructions, dirt, or water droplets.

When the ambient temperature is likely to drop to 32°F (0°C) or lower, take measures to prevent freezing.

• Do not use the energy saver feature in freezing conditions.

• Warm the bathroom or take other measures to ensure the temperature does not drop below 32°F (0°C).

• Set the toilet seat temperature to “High”. Close the toilet seat and lid after finishing work to maintain temperature.

If you need to drain the unit to prevent freezing:

1. Close the shutoff valve.

2. Drain the water from the toilet tank.

3. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release pressure.

4. Turn the power “OFF”.

5. Drain the pipe by removing the drain plug with water supply filter.

If the toilet will not be used for a long time, you should drain the water to prevent it from becoming contaminated or freezing.

How to drain the water:

1. Close the shutoff valve.

2. Drain the water from the toilet tank.

3. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

4. Turn the power “OFF”.

5. Drain the pipe by opening the cover and removing the drain plug with water supply filter.

6. After draining, reinstall the drain plug and close the cover.

Resupplying the Water:

1. Open the shutoff valve and check for leaks.

2. If the power is off, turn the power “ON”. The “Power” LED will illuminate.

3. Discharge water from the wand. Keep your hand on the seat sensor and press the “Rear washing” button to discharge water into a paper cup. Then remove your hand from the sensor.

If the Power LED is not illuminated and the main unit is not working, please check the following:

• Is the breaker on the distribution board turned on? Check whether there is a power outage or the breaker has turned “OFF”.

• Is the “Power ON/OFF” setting on the remote control set to “OFF”? Switch it to “ON” using the remote control by pressing and holding the power button on the back for 3 seconds.

• Is the “Power” LED on the main display flashing? If so, the main unit is not mounted properly. Reinstall it correctly on the base plate.

If the wand or washing water does not come out, please check the following:

• When the temperature is low, it takes time for the water to warm up before the wand comes out.

• Is the toilet seat sensor being activated correctly? Ensure there is no toilet seat cover or clothing between you and the seat. Sit down so your skin directly touches the seat sensor.

• Have you been pressing the “Wand CLEAN” button? This button is for cleaning the wand, not for personal washing. To clean the extended wand, use the “Wand cleaning” function.

• Has a water failure occurred? Press the “Stop” button and wait until water service is restored.

• Is the shutoff valve fully open?

• Is the drain plug with water supply filter clogged? If so, clean the filter.

If washing water pressure is weak:

• Is the water pressure setting on the remote control set to a low level? Try increasing it.

• Is the drain plug with water supply filter clogged? Clean the filter.

• Is the shutoff valve fully open?

If the washing water is cold:

• Is the warm water temperature set to “OFF” or a low level? Adjust the temperature setting.

• When the water supply or bathroom temperature is low, the water may be cool when first sprayed. Allow a few moments for it to heat up.

• All washing functions stop automatically after about 5 minutes of continuous use. The drying function stops after about 10 minutes.

• The seat sensor may have difficulty detecting your presence. If you get up slightly or shift your weight to the side, the sensor may temporarily stop detecting you, causing the function to stop. Ensure you are seated firmly so your skin touches the seat sensor.

• Is the toilet seat temperature set to “OFF” or a low level? Adjust the temperature settings.

• Is an energy saver feature in operation? When an energy saver mode is on, the toilet seat temperature is lowered or turned off. When you sit on the seat, the heater turns on temporarily and will warm up in about 15 minutes. You can turn the energy saver feature “OFF” if you prefer.

• Have you been seated for a long time? After about 20 minutes of sitting, the temperature starts to decrease, and after about 1 hour, the heater turns “OFF”. Stand up from the seat and then use it again to reset this.

• Is a toilet lid or seat cover installed? These can interfere with heating. Remove any covers.

If the deodorizer seems to not be working:

• Is the “Deodorizer” function set to “OFF”? Set it to “ON”.

• Even after sitting down, do you hear it operating? Sit so your skin is in direct contact with the seat sensor.

• If you hear it operating but odors are not removed, the deodorizing filter may need cleaning. Clean the filter.

If a strange odor is emitted:

• Are you using a separate air freshener or deodorizer? This may reduce the effectiveness of the product’s deodorizer or cause strange odors. Remove the separate air freshener.

If the auto power deodorizer feature is not working:

• Is “Auto power deodorizer” set to “OFF”? Set it to “ON”.

• The auto power deodorizer starts about 10 seconds after you stand up from the toilet seat.

• Is the “Auto bowl cleaning” feature set to “OFF”? Set it to “ON”.

• The function does not work when the toilet seat is open.

• For the SW4726AT40, pre-mist is not activated for about 90 seconds after the after-mist finishes. Pre-mist is also not activated when the toilet lid is closed upon entering the bathroom; you must open the toilet lid.

Pre-mist is sprayed in the following cases on the TOTO SW4726AT40:

• When the body sensor detects presence while the toilet lid is open.

• When the toilet lid is opened by hand.

• If the washing functions (e.g., Rear washing) are not used for about 8 hours, “Auto bowl CLEAN” starts and mist is sprayed inside the bowl unit automatically.

Has the power to the product been turned “OFF” or was there a power outage? The Energy saver LED on the main display may go off when the power is turned ON even if the energy saver feature is ON. It will turn on within about 24 hours once the setting is retained.

Check if the “Soft light,” “Bowl light,” or “CLEAN indicator” settings have been turned OFF. You can set them to “ON” in the settings menu.

If water is leaking from plumbing connections:

• If the nut of the connecting pipe is loosened, retighten it by hand. Do not use any tool.

• If the water leak does not stop, close the shutoff valve and consult with customer service.

If the main unit is unstable:

• Are the bolts that anchor the main unit loose? Remove the main unit and then firmly tighten the base plate bolts.

The main unit makes various sounds during normal operation:

• When entering the bathroom: If “Auto bowl CLEAN” is “ON”, you may hear pre-mist spraying.

• When using washing functions: You can hear the sound of the pump operating.

• When moving away after use: You may hear sounds from the “Auto power deodorizer,” “Auto wand CLEAN,” or “Auto bowl CLEAN” functions.

• When not using the product (e.g., at night): If “Auto wand CLEAN” or “Auto bowl CLEAN” are “ON” and washing functions haven’t been used for about 8 hours, you may hear sounds of the wand or bowl being cleaned automatically.
