Please read all instructions before using your TOTO SW4724AT40. The following are important safeguards:

WARNING: May result in death or serious injury.

• Never disassemble, repair or alter the unit.

• Do not use the product if a malfunction occurs. If there’s a breakdown, cut off power and close the water shutoff valve.

• Refrain from sitting on the seat for long periods to avoid low-temperature burns.

• Turn the power OFF before maintenance or inspection.

• Do not touch the power cord connection with wet hands.

• Do not get water or cleaning solution on the main unit or power connections.

• Do not touch the power source connection during thunderstorms.

• Do not allow the water supply hose to touch the power source connection.

• Do not damage the power cord. Avoid striking, yanking, twisting, bending, or placing heavy objects on it.

• Ensure the product is connected to a properly grounded outlet.

• Periodically remove dust and dirt from the power plug.

• Do not use a loose or faulty electrical outlet.

• Do not use any outlet beyond its specified rating.

• Insert the power plug securely into the outlet.

• To unplug, hold the power plug, not the power cord.

CAUTION: May result in injury or property damage.

• Do not use the product if the main unit is unstable.

• If the product is damaged, do not touch the damaged section.

• Do not apply strong force, step on, or stand on the toilet seat, lid, or main unit.

• Do not lift the product by the toilet seat or lid.

• When maintaining plastic parts, use a pH-neutral kitchen detergent diluted with water. Do not use harsh chemicals like toilet cleaner, benzene, or paint thinner.

• To prevent a sudden water leak, do not remove the drain plug with water supply filter when the shutoff valve is open.

• If the bowl is clogged, turn the power OFF and remove the clog.

• Push the main unit securely onto the base plate until it clicks.

• Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries and remove depleted ones immediately.

For prevention of damage:

• Wipe plastic areas such as the main unit and remote control with a soft cloth tightly wrung out with water.

• Do not lean against the toilet lid.

• Do not use the product with the toilet lid removed.

• Do not expose to direct sunlight.

• Use radios and similar devices away from the product to avoid interference.

• Do not urinate on the main unit, toilet seat, or wand.

For prevention of malfunctions and failures:

• Do not block the remote control transmitter or receiver.

• Turn the power OFF if there is a risk of a lightning strike.

• A toilet seat cover or a toilet lid cover cannot be used, as it may interfere with the sensors.

• If you use a booster seat for infants, remove it after use.

• Do not apply force to the remote control or expose it to water.

• Do not place anything on the toilet seat or press it with your hands, as this may activate the seat sensor.

About the built-in seat sensor:

• The seat sensor turns on when you sit on the seat, enabling various features.

• A label indicates the position of the seat sensor. Sit on the seat with the label as a guide.

• Sit down so the seat sensor touches your skin directly. Seat covers or clothing may prevent proper detection.

• Water droplets on the seat sensor may cause malfunctions; wipe them off promptly.

About the body sensors:

• The body sensor detects changes in heat. Detection may be difficult when the room temperature exceeds 30°C (86°F).

• Direct sunlight or a heater can cause incorrect detection.

• An open bathroom door may lead to detection of people passing by.

1. Insert the battery

1.1 Remove the remote control from the hanger.

1.2 Open the battery cover and insert two AAA dry cell, alkaline batteries. After inserting, close the battery cover. When batteries are properly loaded, all LEDs on the remote control will light up for about 2 seconds.

1.3 Mount the remote control in the hanger.

2. Turn on the power

2.1 Insert the power plug. The wand will extend and then retract.

2.2 Check that the “Power” LED on the main unit illuminates.

3. Open the shutoff valve

3.1 Fully open the shutoff valve.

The “EWATER+” feature is used automatically to clean the wand and bowl unit. The sequence of automatic functions under default settings is as follows:

1. As you approach

• Auto bowl CLEAN (Pre-mist): A mist is automatically sprayed inside the bowl unit to make it more difficult for dirt to adhere. The Bowl light lights up. Opening a closed toilet lid on your TOTO SW4724AT40 activates pre-mist.

2. As you sit

• Deodorizer: The deodorizer starts, removing odors inside the bowl unit. Note that water comes out from around the wand for several seconds while the water is being warmed up.

3. As you stand up

• Auto power deodorizer: After about 10 seconds, the auto power deodorizer starts. It stops about 60 seconds after you stand up.

• Auto flushing: After about 10 seconds, the toilet flushes. The type of flush (light or full) depends on how long you sat on the toilet seat.

• Auto wand CLEAN: Only operates if washing functions were used. After about 25 seconds, the wand extends to clean itself with EWATER+.

• Auto bowl CLEAN (After-mist): After auto wand CLEAN (or after 25 seconds if washing was not used), an EWATER+ mist is sprayed on the bowl unit.

4. As you move away

• Auto flushing (when used in standing position): The toilet performs a light flush. “Auto flushing” is not activated on the TOTO SW4724AT40 when used from a standing position.

These mechanisms can be changed in the “Changing Settings” section.

Operate the controls on the remote control; a beep sounds when the main unit receives the signal. Sit down so that the seat sensor touches your skin directly for washing and drying functions to operate.

• Stop: Stops the Rear washing, Front washing, or Warm air drying operation.

• Rear washing: Washes your rear.

• Rear soft washing: Washes your rear with a soft, embracing water flow.

• Front washing: Serves as a bidet for ladies.

• Wide front washing: Gently washes a wide area.

• Warm air drying: Dries your rear.

• Water pressure adjustment (+/-): Adjusts the water pressure to one of five levels. [-] for Softer, [+] for Stronger.

• Wand position adjustment (▲/▼): Adjusts the washing position to 5 different points between the front and the rear. Sitting back on the toilet seat makes it easier to adjust the wand position and reduce splashing.

• Pulsating washing: Washes with water pressure pulsating between soft and strong.

• Oscillating washing: The wand moves back and forth to wash your rear thoroughly.

• Wand CLEAN: Cleans the wand with “EWATER+”. After cleaning, water comes out from around the wand.

• Power deodorizer: Press to increase suction power and remove odor. Cannot be used unless you are seated.

• Flushing (Full flush / Light flush): The type of button varies. Performs a full or light flush. You can change the setting to close the toilet lid before flushing.

• Personal setting: Up to four people can register their preferred “Water pressure”, “Wand position”, and “Warm water temperature” settings.

• Low battery warning mark: Indicates when the batteries need to be replaced.

You can set five different temperature levels from high to low and “OFF” for the warm water and toilet seat. The drying air temperature cannot be turned “OFF”.

Adjusting the temperature:

1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

2. Choose and press the button for the temperature you want to set:

• “Warm water temperature” button

• “Toilet seat temperature” button

• “Drying air temperature” button

The current temperature level will appear on the remote control display.

3. Press the selected button repeatedly until the desired temperature level illuminates. The setting changes each time the button is pressed. The levels are: OFF (for water/seat), Low, Medium-low, Medium, Medium-high, High.

4. Mount the remote control back in the hanger. If no button is pressed for about 10 seconds, the LED will go off, but the setting will be retained.

To turn the warm water and toilet seat temperature “OFF”:

1. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

2. Select either the “Toilet seat temperature” button or the “Warm water temperature” button and press it.

3. Press the button selected in step 2 repeatedly until the temperature level is set to “OFF”.

4. Mount the remote control in the hanger. When the seat temperature is OFF, the SEAT LED on the main unit is unilluminated.

To enter setting mode, press the “Stop” button for approximately 10 seconds or longer until the LEDs on the remote control flash. Then, use the specific button combinations described in the manual for each function you wish to change. The following is a list of settings that can be changed:

You can select “Auto energy saver”, “Auto energy saver+”, or “Timer energy saver” to reduce energy consumption by lowering the toilet seat temperature.

Auto energy saver:

The product learns your usage patterns and automatically lowers the toilet seat temperature during periods of infrequent use. It takes about 10 days to learn your routine.

To activate, press the “Auto energy saver” button until the corresponding LED lights up.

Auto energy saver+:

In addition to the “Auto energy saver” feature, this mode turns off the toilet seat heater completely during periods when the toilet is not used.

To activate, press the “Auto energy saver” button until the corresponding LED lights up.

Timer energy saver:

This mode turns off the toilet seat heater for a preset duration of 6 or 9 hours every day. To set it, press the “Timer energy saver” button at the time you want the saving period to start. For example, to save energy from 1 am to 7 am (6 hours), press the “Timer energy saver” button at 1 am until the “6” LED illuminates.

You can also use “Timer energy saver” in combination with “Auto energy saver” or “Auto energy saver+” for maximum energy savings.

Approximately daily:

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Wipe the main unit with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly. For heavy dirt, use a soft cloth with diluted, pH-neutral kitchen detergent, then wipe again with a water-soaked cloth.

3. Turn the power “ON”.

To clean the gap between the Main Unit and Bowl Unit (Approximately once a month):

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Remove the main unit by pressing the “Main unit removal button” and pulling the unit toward you.

3. Clean the top of the bowl unit and the bottom of the main unit with a soft cloth and diluted, pH-neutral kitchen detergent.

4. Mount the main unit by aligning it with the base plate and pressing it firmly until a click sound is heard. Ensure it does not detach when pulled.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

Clean the wand approximately once a month if you notice dirt.

1. Extend the wand. You can do this by pressing the “Wand cleaning” button on the back of the remote control. Alternatively, from the front of the remote, press and hold “Stop” and “Water pressure +” for about 10 seconds, then press “Water pressure +”, then “Front washing”, then “Rear washing”. The wand extends and sprays water for cleaning.

2. Wipe the extended wand with a soft cloth that has been soaked in water and wrung out thoroughly. Do not pull, push, or press the wand with excessive force.

3. Press the “Stop” button on the remote control. The wand will retract.

Clean the deodorizing filter approximately once a month.

1. Turn the power “OFF”.

2. Remove the deodorizing filter by holding the tab and pulling it outward.

3. Clean the filter with a tool such as a toothbrush. If washing with water, dry off all water before reinserting.

4. Reinsert the deodorizing filter. Push firmly until a click sound is heard.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

Clean this filter approximately once every 6 months, or if the water pressure is weak.

1. Close the shutoff valve to stop the water supply.

2. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release the pressure from the water supply pipe.

3. Turn the power “OFF”.

4. Open the toilet seat and lid.

5. Open the cover and remove the drain plug with water supply filter. Use a flat-head screwdriver to open the cover, then loosen and pull out the drain plug.

6. Clean the filter with a tool such as a toothbrush. Also, remove any dust from inside the hole of the drain plug.

7. Reinstall the drain plug, tighten it securely with a flat-head screwdriver, and close the cover until it clicks.

8. Turn the power “ON”.

9. Open the shutoff valve.

1. Use a bucket to flush the bowl unit. Pour water strongly, aiming at the center of the bowl unit.

2. If the water level is low after flushing, add more water to prevent odors.

Attention: Before starting, turn “Auto flushing” OFF. When the water supply is restored, first use water in a bath or kitchen to remove air from the water supply pipes before using this product.

If the low battery warning mark on the remote control is flashing, please replace the batteries.

Replacing the batteries:

1. Unplug the power plug.

2. Remove the remote control from the hanger.

3. Open the battery cover and replace with two new AAA batteries. The low battery warning mark will become unilluminated.

4. Mount the remote control in the hanger.

5. Turn the power “ON”.

Note: Settings such as the energy saver function may be canceled when the batteries are replaced. You will need to set them again.

When the ambient temperature is likely to drop to 32 °F (0 °C) or lower, take measures to prevent freezing.

• Do not use the energy saver feature in these conditions.

• Warm the bathroom or take other measures to ensure the temperature does not drop below 32 °F (0 °C).

If freezing is a risk, you must drain the water from the unit:

1. Before starting work, set “Auto flush” to “OFF”.

2. Close the shutoff valve.

3. Drain the water from the toilet tank.

4. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

5. Turn the power “OFF”.

6. Drain the pipe by opening the cover and removing the drain plug with water supply filter.

7. After draining, reinstall the drain plug and close the cover.

8. Turn the power “ON”.

9. Set the toilet seat temperature to “High” and keep the toilet seat and lid closed to maintain temperature.

If the toilet will not be used for a long time, drain the water to prevent malfunctions or contamination.

How to drain the water:

1. Close the shutoff valve.

2. Drain the water from the toilet tank.

3. Press the “Wand CLEAN” button to release pressure from the water supply pipe.

4. Turn the power “OFF”.

5. Drain the pipe:

• Open the toilet seat and lid.

• Insert a flat-head screwdriver in the hook of the cover to open it.

• Loosen the drain plug with water supply filter with a flat-head screwdriver and then pull it.

6. Reinstall the drain plug with water supply filter and close the cover.

1. Open the shutoff valve. Check that water is not leaking from a pipe or the main unit.

2. If the power is not on, turn the power ON. The “Power” LED will illuminate.

3. Discharge water from the wand:

• Keep your hand or arm in contact with the seat sensor.

• Press the “Rear washing” button to discharge water from the wand. You can catch the water in a paper cup.

• Move your hand or arm from the seat sensor.

If the remaining water has frozen and no water comes out, heat the inside of the bathroom and warm the water supply hose and shutoff valve using a cloth soaked in warm water.

First, try these checks:

A: Is the Power LED illuminated? Is the main unit working?

• Is the breaker on the distribution board turned on? Check for a power outage.

• Is the “Power ON/OFF” setting “OFF”? Switch it to “ON” with the remote control.

• Is the “Power” LED on the main display flashing? This means the main unit is not mounted properly. Mount it correctly.

B: Is the Energy saver LED lit?

• While the LED is lit, the energy saver is in operation, so the toilet seat temperature may be reduced or the heater may be turned off.

C: Is the remote control working?

• Is the low battery warning mark flashing? If so, replace the batteries.

• Is the remote control transmitter or receiver blocked? Remove any obstructions, dirt, or water droplets.

Please check the following:

• When the temperature is low, it takes time for the water to warm up before the wand comes out.

• Are you sitting on the toilet seat correctly? Ensure there is no seat cover or clothing blocking the seat sensor. Sit so your skin directly touches the sensor.

• Are you using a toilet seat cover, lid cover, or a seat for infants? Remove any covers.

• Has a water failure occurred? Press the “Stop” button and wait for water service to be restored.

• Is the shutoff valve closed? Fully open the shutoff valve.

• Is the drain plug with water supply filter clogged? Clean the filter.

Weak Water Pressure:

• Is the water pressure set to a low level? Adjust it using the remote control.

• Is the drain plug with water supply filter clogged? Clean the filter.

Cold Washing Water:

• Is the warm water temperature set to “OFF” or a low level? Adjust the temperature.

• When the supply water or bathroom temperature is low, the water may feel cool when first sprayed.

• Washing functions (“Rear washing,” “Front washing,” etc.) stop automatically after about 5 minutes of continuous use.

• The dryer stops automatically after about 10 minutes of continuous use.

• Does the seat sensor have difficulty detecting your presence? If you get up slightly or shift your weight, the sensor may temporarily stop detecting you, causing the function to stop. Ensure you are sitting firmly on the seat so your skin touches the sensor.

• Is the shutoff valve fully open?

• Has a water failure occurred? Use a bucket to flush the water.

• Is “Auto flushing” set to “OFF”? Set it to “ON”.

• Even when “Auto flushing” is set to “ON,” it is not available in the following instances:

• For about 60 seconds after the bowl unit flushes.

• When the time spent sitting on the toilet seat is less than about 6 seconds.

• For the TOTO SW4724AT40, when the toilet is used in a standing position, auto flushing is not activated.

• If the body sensor has water droplets or dirt on it, wipe it off.

• Is the toilet seat temperature set to “OFF” or a low level? Adjust the temperature settings.

• Is the energy saver feature in operation? The energy saver feature is on when the “Energy saver” LED is lit on the main display. When you sit on the seat, it will start to warm up, which takes about 15 minutes. You can turn the energy saver feature “OFF” if you prefer.

• Have you been seated for a long time? After about 20 minutes, the temperature starts to go down, and after about 1 hour, the heater turns off. Stand up and sit down again to reactivate it.

• Is a toilet lid or seat cover installed? Remove any covers.

• Is “Deodorizer” set to “OFF”? Set it to “ON”.

• Even after sitting down, you do not hear operation sounds. Sit so your skin is in direct contact with the seat sensor.

• If you hear an operation sound but odors are not removed, clean the deodorizing filter.

• Are you using a separate air freshener or deodorizer? This may reduce the effectiveness of the product’s deodorizer. Remove the other air freshener.

• Is the “Auto power deodorizer” feature not working? Check if it is set to “OFF” and turn it “ON”. The auto power deodorizer starts about 10 seconds after you stand up.

• Is “Auto bowl cleaning” set to “OFF”? Set it to “ON”.

• Pre-mist does not work when the toilet lid is closed upon entering the bathroom. Open the toilet lid to activate it.

• Pre-mist is not activated for about 90 seconds after the after-mist function finishes.

Pre-mist is sprayed in the following cases:

• When the body sensor detects presence while the toilet lid is open.

• When the toilet lid is opened by hand.

• If washing functions (e.g., Rear washing) are not used for about 8 hours, “Auto bowl CLEAN” starts and mist is sprayed inside the bowl unit.

• Is the “Soft light,” “Bowl light,” or “CLEAN indicator” turned OFF in the settings? Set them to “ON”.

• If the “Night light” (Night mode) is turned ON, the Soft light will be on permanently. You can turn this OFF [STANDBY].

• If the “Night light” (Night mode) is not activated, the batteries in the remote control may have been replaced, canceling the setting. Set them again.

Certain sounds are part of normal operation:

• When entering the bathroom: If “Auto bowl CLEAN” is “ON,” you may hear the pre-mist spraying.

• When using washing functions: You may hear the pump operating.

• When moving away after use: You may hear sounds from the “Auto power deodorizer,” “Auto wand CLEAN,” or “Auto bowl CLEAN” functions operating. You may also hear the fan ventilating the unit for about 30 minutes.

• When not using the product (e.g., at night): If “Auto wand CLEAN” or “Auto bowl CLEAN” is “ON,” you may hear cleaning sounds if the washing functions have not been used for about 8 hours. You might also hear operating noise for extending the wand to discharge water and prevent freezing.
