The serial number label for your SONY MDR-XB950BT is on the slider.

To attach the earpads to your SONY MDR-XB950BT, fit the groove on the earpad with the projection of the unit. Be careful not to catch any foreign objects between the unit and the earpad.

The antenna is built into the SONY MDR-XB950BT unit. The sensitivity of the BLUETOOTH communications will improve by turning the direction of the built-in antenna to the connected BLUETOOTH device. When an obstacle is between the antenna of the connected device and the built-in antenna of this unit, noise or audio dropout may occur, or communications may be disabled.

BLUETOOTH communications may be disabled, or noise or audio dropout may occur under the following conditions:

• When there is a human body between the unit and the BLUETOOTH device. This situation may be improved by placing the BLUETOOTH device facing the antenna of the unit.

• When there is an obstacle, such as metal or a wall, between the unit and the BLUETOOTH device.

• When a Wi-Fi device or microwave oven is in use, or microwaves are emitted near the unit.

Because BLUETOOTH devices and Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11b/g/n) use the same frequency (2.4 GHz), microwave interference may occur resulting in noise or audio dropout or communications being disabled if this unit is used near a Wi-Fi device. In such a case, perform the following:

• Use this unit at least 10 meters (30 feet) away from the Wi-Fi device.

• If this unit is used within 10 meters of a Wi-Fi device, turn off the Wi-Fi device.

• Install this unit and the BLUETOOTH device as near to each other as possible.

Microwaves emitting from a BLUETOOTH device may affect the operation of electronic medical devices. Turn off this unit and other BLUETOOTH devices in the following locations, as it may cause an accident:

• in hospitals, near priority seating in trains, locations where inflammable gas is present and near automatic doors or fire alarms.

Due to the characteristic of the wireless technology, the sound played on this unit is delayed from the sound and music played on the sending device. Therefore, the image and sound may be misaligned when viewing a movie or playing a game.

This product emits radio waves when used in wireless mode. When used in wireless mode on an airplane, follow flight crew instructions regarding permissible use of products in wireless mode.

This unit supports security capabilities that comply with the BLUETOOTH standard to provide a secure connection when the BLUETOOTH wireless technology is used, but security may not be sufficient depending on the setting. Be careful when communicating using BLUETOOTH wireless technology.

The audio signal transmission of this unit from a mobile phone via a BLUETOOTH device cannot be guaranteed.

A device featuring the BLUETOOTH function is required to conform to the BLUETOOTH standard specified by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and be authenticated. Even if the connected device conforms to the above-mentioned BLUETOOTH standard, some devices may not be connected or work correctly, depending on the features or specifications of the device.

This unit can be charged using USB only. A personal computer is required for charging.

This unit cannot be turned on, nor can the BLUETOOTH function be used, during charging.

You can use the unit by connecting the supplied headphone cable, even while charging the unit.

If the unit is not used for a long time, the rechargeable battery may be depleted quickly. The battery will be able to hold a proper charge after it is discharged and recharged several times.

If you store the unit for a long time, charge the battery once every half year to prevent over-discharge.

If the time you can use the unit becomes extremely short, the rechargeable battery should be replaced with a new one.

Be sure to use the supplied micro-USB cable.

Charging may not be possible, depending on the personal computer.

Because the headphones are of a high-density enclosure, forcing them against your ears may result in eardrum damage. Pressing the headphones against your ears may produce a diaphragm click sound. This is not a malfunction.

Do not apply weight or pressure to this unit for long periods, including when it is stored, as it may cause deformation.

The earpads may deteriorate due to long-term storage or use.

Do not place this unit in a place exposed to humidity, dust, soot or steam, or in a car or a place subject to direct sunlight.

Using the BLUETOOTH device may not function on mobile phones, depending on radio wave conditions and location where the equipment is being used.

High volume may affect your hearing.

For traffic safety, do not use while driving or cycling.

Do not use the unit where it would be dangerous if you are unable to hear ambient sound, such as at railroad crossings, station platforms, and construction sites.

Do not put weight or pressure on this unit as it may cause the unit to deform during long storage.

The earpads may deteriorate due to long-term storage or use.

Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth.

Do not use solvents such as thinner, benzine, or alcohol as they may damage the surface.

If the earpads become dirty, wipe them with a well wrung out cloth soaked in a mild detergent. Do not use thinner, benzine, or alcohol.

Do not get the unit wet.

Do not operate the unit with wet hands, and do not put a liquid or other item in the unit.

If the power on your SONY MDR-XB950BT headphones does not turn on, charge the battery. The battery may be empty.

If you cannot charge your SONY MDR-XB950BT, check that the micro-USB cable is connected firmly to the unit and the personal computer. Also, ensure that the personal computer is turned on and not in standby, sleep or hibernation mode.

If your SONY MDR-XB950BT unit cannot be operated, press the RESET button with a pin or other pointed object.

• Check that both this unit and the BLUETOOTH device are turned on.

• Check that the connection is made between this unit and the BLUETOOTH device.

• Ensure the BLUETOOTH device is playing back music.

• Check that the volume of this unit and the BLUETOOTH device is not too low.

• Re-pair this unit and the BLUETOOTH device.

• If you are connecting a personal computer to this unit, make sure the audio output setting of the personal computer is set for a BLUETOOTH device.

If the sound from your SONY MDR-XB950BT skips:

• Bring the unit and the BLUETOOTH device closer together.

• Remove any obstacles between this unit and the BLUETOOTH device.

• Turn off any device that uses the 2.4 GHz frequency band, such as a Wi-Fi device, cordless telephone, or microwave oven, to prevent microwave interference.
